JPEG images on Forms 9i

Hi all,
I'd like to know which jpeg formats, excluding jfif, are supported by Forms 9i.
I'd like also to learn if any Forms 6i patch has been released to load not-jfif format jpeg images through read_image_file built-in.
Thanks,
Marco

Did you try to load any other JPG format?
For me every jpg/gif that I find on the web was easily loaded into the form. Try leaving the image_type parameter null.

  • How to show JPEG-images with Forms?

    I am able to display .bmp-images in Forms, but according to the documentation it must be possible to display JPEG-images as well. How do I do that?
    null

    Procedure is the same as you call bmp. but you have to write 'JPEG' in place of format where you write bmp. and file_name.JPG where you write file_name.bmp.
    That may help.

  • Lose Jpeg images when editing an existing PDF Form in Acrobat X - All other edits update OK

    Have just upgraded to Acrobat X and am having problems trying to update an existing PDF Form which includes jpeg images.    After all edits are done and I save, previewing the PDF identifies that all of the existing jpeg images within the form no longer display.  Unable to figure out what to do to retain these images from the existing PDF.

    Hi,
    Based on your other post, the original form was developed in LiveCycle Designer. Therefore you would need to edit the form in LC Designer, to reestablish the link to the image files.

  • Jpeg images not displayed in forms 10G

    We have images (of different formats) stored in our Oracle 9i database. When we retrieve the images through a form, they display just fine using Forms 6i (client server) but the jpeg images (file extension .jpg originally) do not always display in our Forms 10G front end. What is most disconcerting is that the first image we display does display in the form, but trying to display multiple images at once does not work. The subsequent images display only as a dot in the middle of the space. Note that we also display thumbnails in the same form and this works. And if we retrieve the image from the database and "send" it to a third party product such as Image Pro or MS Photo Editor, it also displays fine. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    can you re-create teh images. I remember having similar issues once, which then went away after I recreated the images. If you don't have other images soures than the gif, convert them from gif to jpeg and back. At least it is worth a try.
    If you open the icon jar file with winzip, does it show a path with the three icons? Sometimes when creating the jar, it happens that a path gets added with the icons.

  • How to insert a pdf or jpeg image into a blob column of a table

    How to insert a pdf or jpeg image into a blob column of a table

    Hi,
    Try This
    Loading an image into a BLOB column and displaying it via OAS
    The steps are as follows:
    Step 1.
    Create a table to store the blobs:
    create table blobs
    ( id varchar2(255),
    blob_col blob
    Step 2.
    Create a logical directory in the database to the physical file system:
    create or replace directory MY_FILES as 'c:\images';
    Step 3.
    Create a procedure to load the blobs from the file system using the logical
    directory. The gif "aria.gif" must exist in c:\images.
    create or replace procedure insert_img as
    f_lob bfile;
    b_lob blob;
    begin
    insert into blobs values ( 'MyGif', empty_blob() )
    return blob_col into b_lob;
    f_lob := bfilename( 'MY_FILES', 'aria.gif' );
    dbms_lob.fileopen(f_lob, dbms_lob.file_readonly);
    dbms_lob.loadfromfile( b_lob, f_lob, dbms_lob.getlength(f_lob) );
    dbms_lob.fileclose(f_lob);
    commit;
    end;
    Step 4.
    Create a procedure that is called via Oracle Application Server to display the
    image.
    create or replace procedure get_img as
    vblob blob;
    buffer raw(32000);
    buffer_size integer := 32000;
    offset integer := 1;
    length number;
    begin
    owa_util.mime_header('image/gif');
    select blob_col into vblob from blobs where id = 'MyGif';
    length := dbms_lob.getlength(vblob);
    while offset < length loop
    dbms_lob.read(vblob, buffer_size, offset, buffer);
    htp.prn(utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2(buffer));
    offset := offset + buffer_size;
    end loop;
    exception
    when others then
    htp.p(sqlerrm);
    end;
    Step 5.
    Use the PL/SQL cartridge to call the get_img procedure
    OR
    Create that procedure as a function and invoke it within your PL/SQL code to
    place the images appropriately on your HTML page via the PL/SQL toolkit.
    from a html form
    1. Create an HTML form where the image field will be <input type="file">. You also
    need the file MIME type .
    2. Create a procedure receiving the form parameters. The file field will be a Varchar2
    parameter, because you receive the image path not the image itself.
    3. Insert the image file into table using "Create directory NAME as IMAGE_PATH" and
    then use "Insert into TABLE (consecutive, BLOB_OBJECT, MIME_OBJECT) values (sequence.nextval,
    EMPTY_BLOB(), 'GIF' or 'JPEG') returning BLOB_OBJECT, consecutive into variable_blob,
    variable_consecutive.
    4. Load the file into table using:
    dbms_lob.loadfromfile(variable_blob, variable_file_name, dbms_lob.getlength(variable_file_name));
    dbms_lob.fileclose(variable_file_name);
    commit.

  • Events on Jpeg image

    I have a jpeg image of a particular area map which i need to load in my app using swing, is there a way to fire some event when clicked on specific areas on the jpeg image and then highlight that area.
    I have googled and tried various ways but still not getting it right
    Please if anyone can guide me it would be great help.
    Thanks in Advance

    I have found the same functionality on ALOV Map [http://alov.org/index.html] The way their applets works i need exactly the same functionality like pan, zoom etc and most importantly events. but they are using shp files and i dont know exactly what they are. As for other things i tried are Flex's ImageViewer, ImageMap form Flexlib but it dosent solve my problem.
    The Map is actually going to be a console where depending on the live datafeeds from the database(continuosly updated) the exact location should be activated, like highlighting/blinking without user interference (Like monitoring system). The user will then click the area and any another activity will be triggerd.
    Now honestly i'am confused as the project is in java so we need something in java or related to java swing, servlet, applet dosent matter that is why i posted my query here therfore sorry if it hurt someone that is not my intention. I have even gone as far as HDF5 file format but i need something simple.
    I again request you to give me some guidlines that i can try and solve my problem.
    Thanks in advance

  • Grey area in the JPEG image

    Recently my external hard drive with thousands of pictures failed. So I moved all of the files on the external to my Mac harddrive. I deleted the contents of the external hard drive. Now when I open the images (some not all) open with this grey area in the jpeg image. I'm assuming the file is partially corrupted. How can I restore the entire picture? The file size of the images seems to be the entire file but not showing up when I open the file. It does however show the entire picture as a thumbnail icon.
    And other pictures show different colors (not just grey).
    If someone can direct me to a software or perhaps tell me how to fix them. Not sure if Aperture has some capability of fixing this but hopefully someone out there has the answer.
    Cheers,
    Gilbert

    Are they gray, or partially gray in the Finder QuickView, Preview, etc or only in Aperture? If the former, then yeah they may be damaged beyond repair but if it is only Aperture, then it could be the in-app thumbs that are bad and you could try reconnecting them and then rebuilding thumbs.

  • Unable to open saved edited jpeg image

    Not being the most techie type person, sorry if this is repeated in numerous place on the forum. I can see, and open, the images in thumbnail form in my 'Picture - Library'. I can then edit them in PE 10, but when I 'save as' (and I save as jpeg image with a version of IMG_****.jpeg copy ) the 'copy' jpeg thumbnail appears in the library as a blank page and no image. I'm then unable to open the 'saved' copy as it's the 'wrong type'. I've tried numerous images but to no avail. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

            Please guide me . Thanks in advance,

    Hi
    You can do it but there is one very critical exception to do it depending on the Webserver that you are using :
    1. Is you are using Sunone Webserver then you cannot install multiple instances of CS on the same webserver instance.
    And if using IIS then the only thing that you need to do on the webserver front is to restart the Webserver after the second instance is installed so that the webserver picks up the config entries made for the second instance's install.
    With Apache webserver you will have make the entry in the httpd.conf for the second instance as you had done for the first instance
    Eg for this is :
    This is my first instance:
    LoadModule IdcApacheAuth "D:/oracle/ucm/cs2/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll"
    IdcUserDB cs2 "D:/oracle/ucm/cs2/data/users/userdb.txt"
    Alias /cs2 "D:/oracle/ucm/cs2/weblayout"
    <Location /cs2>
         Allow from all
         Order allow,deny
         DirectoryIndex portal.htm
         IdcSecurity cs2
    </Location>
    This is my second instance:
    LoadModule IdcApacheAuth D:/oracle/ucm/idc1/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll
    IdcUserDB idc1 "D:/oracle/ucm/idc1/data/users/userdb.txt"
    Alias /idc1 "D:/oracle/ucm/idc1/weblayout"
    <Location /idc1>
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    DirectoryIndex portal.htm
    IdcSecurity idc1
    </Location>
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • How to process and imbedded JPEG image data

    I am using a flowable XFA form . and i would like to embed some JPEG images in a subform.
    My form is working but I need this additional behavior/capability.
    Can you direct me to where i would find a good example of how to do it or to good documentation on this can be done or any combination of these two things.
    thanks

    Hi,
    I am trying to understand what you are trying to achieve. If you want to embed a static image, then drag an "image" from the object library. If you want the user to be able to select (or change) the image, then insert an "image field" into your subform.
    For what it is worth, I have uploaded a basic PDF with a static image and a dynamic image field.
    If you are dictating the images then select "image" objects. If the user has input, then select "image field" objects.
    I cannot provide any direction to your second post. If you have the form working with "save as TIFF, I don't know how you would script additional parameters.
    Good luck,
    N.

  • I cannot erase alias JPeg images on a memory card so that it will not accept any more which I try to load onto it, yet there are no actual images available if I click on any of them. The error message states that one or more cannot

    Cannot delete aliases for JPeg images on a lumix camera memory card even selecting individual images anjd trying to move to trash -error35 one or more items cannot be found. No image available on clicking or if card put back into camera-"no images to disply" Yet if try to add more images, message that card is full! Any suggestions?

    Deleting from iPhoto or image capture after import should be fine and shouldn't cause any issues. Deleting from the folder view of finder, can cause issues as the camera can the image is still there. You can try emptying the trash on your mac if you deleted them via the finder, as although you've deleted it, it's only marked as trashed and not actually deleted until you empty the trash - ie it won't relieve the space taken by the files.
    If your still having issues after you try this, you may be best formating the memory card. This will wipe all data on it though, so make sure you do copy anything off that yo u want to keep! Format from the camera, so that choosing the format>erase all option from the menu of most cameras.

    I am trying to use photomerge compose.  I open one standard jpeg image and one image that is my business logo in a png format.  When I select the png image, to extract the logo from it, it appears as all white and will not allow me to select the logo from it.  It has worked in the past but I downloaded the update today and photomerge will not work correctly.  Any ideas?

    hedger,
    How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
    Note that this is boilerplate text.
    If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
    such as your platform (Mac or Win),
    exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
    your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
    the type of file you were working on,
    machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
    what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
    if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
    if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,
    someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
    a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

  • Display image in forms & reports developed on windows and deployed on Unix

    Hi,
    We are upgrading from Forms and reports 6i to forms10g.
    We need to insert image in forms and reports. Recompile and deploy on unix server.
    So can anyone let me know the exact steps to create jar file containing images, where to place the jar file.
    Corresponding folder, file and configuration changes required on windows and unix.
    Av.

    Hi Frank,
    thanks for the link it helped me in understanding how images work for forms.
    But my real concern is how this will work in reports?
    As we dont have any reportsweb.cfg nor any java path for reports?
    Can you help me in understanding how to embed image in reports that will be displayed even after porting the report on unix oas.
    Regards,
    Av.
