Jpg Resolution in Flash

Two pics: 380px x 253px
One is: 180px per inch
Second is: 350 px per inch
Second displays much smaller in flash due to higher
resolution. I would like these pics to be the same size in Flash.
Do I need to convert both to 72ppi or some other ppi for
Flash?

  • Problem resizing imported jpg images in flash cs4

when i import a jpg file in flash and then resize this with the transform tool to for example 50% of the original size
then im not getting the same result as resizing it in photoshop.
if i first resize it in photoshop and import the image is smooth and looks the way i want
but if i resize in flash the image gets edgy and not so good.
so is there a way in flash cs 4 to resize the image with the same result as resizing it in photoshop or
    similar?

    thanks for advice =)
but the size of the jpeg will maintain the same?
seems like that, otherwise i think photoshop is the only option..

  • How to change video resolution in Flash CS5

Hi, I've made a small app that captures and displays the camera feed. But the problem i'm having is that the app only displays a fraction of what the camera is showing (top left part of the corner), is there a way to shrink the resolution in Flash CS5 so that the app can show the full picture??
    Many thanks.

I think I found the solution to my problem..... but dont know how to implement it correctly.

  • Color Shift When Importing JPG Sequence into Flash CS6

I am importing a jpg sequence into flash that has been exported from After Effects CS6. No matter what I try, the color will shift when the image imports into flash. The sequence originally started out as a vector graphic in Illustrator (color profile set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1) and then imported into After Effects for an animation that I couldn't quite achive in Flash. The color profile in After Effects is also sRGB IEC61966-2.1 with the "Match Legacy" checkbox checked. I export it out of After Effects as a JPG Sequence and then import into Flash. No matter what I try, the bitmap images' color will shift (become dull) when I import. Even when I open the images in Windows Photo Gallery, they look fine - it's only when I import into Flash.  I've also tried PNG and .PSD Sequence with the same result. I've searched around, but still haven't found a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am in the midst of trying to figure out the opposite : Flash to After Effects.  I am betting that this is an issue of 'color profile' attached to the images and the gamma settings in that profile.  RGBA is only part of the story - color profile is all the rest of it.  Eye Dropper doesn't tell you the color profile attached to the image.

  • Please help! Screen Capture resolution for Flash

    Hi,
When I screen capture [using RoBo ScreenCapture] either web
pages off the Net, or dialog boxes of programs [I'm using Flash for
a presentation instead of PP] the images are pixelated or fuzzy or
    well, not good enough.
Let me explain In using RoBo, I make the capture at the
highest Jpeg resolution possible. When I bring the jpeg into Flash
[import directly into Library] and bring on the stage, I have to
resize the image because it is too big for the stage [being
800X600]. The projector I will be using for the presentation is
800X600.so I set the stage for that.
When I publish the file and review it [setting my monitor to
    800X600] the images look terrible.
Maybe I should explain that when I do the screen captures at
first, my monitor is set at 1600X1200.
Should I set it at 800X600 when doing the captures first? I
mean, does this affect the final output of the resolution of the
jpg's when they are placed in Flash after the capture and import
    into the Library?
I have had to make captures of web pages, so I have my
monitor set at 1600X1200 normally so I can get the most real estate
on the screen as possible. I make the screen captures using that
monitor setting. But I have my Flash movie stage set at 800X600.
    My questions are:
    1. Should I do the captures with the monitor set at 800X600
if the Flash stage is 800X600? If so, why?
    2. If the projector resolution is 800X600, can I set my Flash
stage at a higher size [resolution], say 1024X768? Will that
actually affect the resolution when the Flash movie is projected on
a projector with an 800X600 resolution if the Flash movie stage is
    larger?
    3. What affects the final resolution output of the BMP images
[jpeg's] in Flash for a presentation like I am doing?
    4. What size should I capture the images at so I don't have
    to resize them in Flash?
WHAH! I just want this presentation to be successful. It's a
training session on educating folks on computer virus
prevention/protection from and ID theft, something this world is in
    dire need of!
Thanks in advance form anyone who can help me,
    Ellen

    > Should I set it at 800X600 when doing the captures
    first?
A screen capture captures whatever number of pixels you are
    grabbing. If
your monitor is 1600x1200 and you capture the entire screen,
    then the
resolution you have captures is 1600x1200.
    Then two things are happening:
    1) you are making it a JPG, which is lossy compresion
    2) you are shrinking it to 800 x 600.
To shrink it, Flash has to 'throw away' 75% of the pixels of
    the original.
So, no matter what, you are ending up with a lower resolution
    image than
    what you started with.
    > 1. Should I do the captures with the monitor set at
    800X600 if the Flash
    > stage
    > is 800X600? If so, why?
That would make sense. Why? You can only show 800x600 pixels
    in your final
presentation. What's the point of capturing more than that?
    > 2. If the projector resolution is 800X600, can I set my

If the images are that resolution, then yes, if you increase
    the size of the
flash file, you should be able to see all of the pixels at
    that particular
    resolution.
    > 3. What affects the final resolution output of the BMP
    images [jpeg's] in

As long as you bring the images in at 100%, the available
    resolution of the
    images shouldn't change at all.

    have to resize them

I'm not sure what RoBo is, but have you considered using a
    product like
RoboDemo for this type of thing? That should handle
    everything for you.

  • IMovie 6.0.3 drops jpg resolution

When moving jpg stills from Photos panel to the timeline, they get limited to 117 KB. In fact some 1- 2 MB jpegs were dropped to 117kB as I brought them to the Photos panel. How was that done? Can I keep a higher image quality?
Then if I change duration or Ken Burns on a still picture in the timeline, the image resolution gets very blurry. It seems to happen with my pressing of the 'Update' button in the Show Photo Settings window. The size stays at 117kB. How can I adjust duration or do a KBurns and keep decent image resolution?
In general, do I have any control over these image resolutions in iMovie 6.0.3?

Your question concerns iMovie 6. This is a iMovie '09 forum (iMovie 8). Please post your question again in the iMovie HD 6 forum.

  • Linux webcam resolution in flash

    Hello
I am using PartyBooth software (www.partyboothapp.com) that I purchased through adobe AIR.  This is a simple application that lets you use a webcam to run a photobooth.
I have 3 cameras that are very well supported in Linux:
    1) Logitech Webcam Pro 9000
    2) Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro
    3) Microsoft Lifecam Cinema
All 3 of these cameras work at full resolution in every linux app that I have used (including skype)
However, in this flash-based program (PartyBooth), the cameras will only work at 240x240 resolution, which is way too low to take reasonable pictures.
All 3 of these cameras are capable of HD resolutions, and again, all resolutions work in  other applications! (Note: these are all UVC compliant cameras)
Is there a way to test if this is either:
    A) A bug in Flash Player 10 for Linux
    B) A bug in the PartyBooth applicaion
thanks for any help I can get!
    Jon

I have this problem in all flash applications.
My camera uses v4l2 subsystem and UVC interface and has native resolution 640x480. In other programs (not flash, i.e. skype, guvcview) it starts to capture in 640x480 by default.
And if I start web browser (firefox or chrome) with preloading v4l1 compatibility library:
    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so firefox
flash starts to capture in 640x480. So it can be used as workaround before v4l2 support in flash will be fixed.

  • Batch change jpg resolution in Photoshop Elements!

    Hello,
I have a group of photos that I have to resize (pixels and resolution) properly. The requirement is ridiculous.
Per Microsoft Office 365 (profile picture sync from our servers)
    100x100 pixels
10 kb in size (yes, that is 10 as in ten)
Anything above those parameters wont sync
100x100 pixels was an easy batch conversion process using Photoshop Essentials
Brought my photo sizes between 40-60kb
I was also able to reduce the resolution to 72 dpi, which got me down to about 20-25kb per photo
I can manually adjust the resolution down to 50 dpi and that gets me just under 10kb, but I cant find a way to do it in batch.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

You can run the image processor File>Scripts>Image Processor
However, I believe that the IP will function same as a Save As, where you set the JPG quality on a scale of 1 -12, unlike the 1 - 100 in Save for Web.  But you could play around with Save As until you found the quality number between 1 - 12 that got the output you wanted, and then run all images through the IP.  Make sure to click "Convert profile to sRGB".
Otherwise, you could make an action that runs a single photo through Save for Web with the resizing and quality you want.  Then you run the Image Processor, and at the bottom you can choose to run your action.

  • CS3 - CS4: JPG resolution

    Hi,
I'm a developer using Apache FOP to create PDFs. We are using JPGs (CMYK) with a resolution of 300dpi (had some problems with tiff, so we're on jpg).
Here's the problem I'm in now:
Creating the JPG files with PS CS3 works fine. Now we changed to CS4 and the graphic library, used by FOP, is unable to retrieve the resolution from the JPG, reading 96dpi instead of 300dpi.
What is the difference in saving JPGs in CS3 and CS4 (maybe something with the metadata)?
How can I assure the JPGs saved by CS4 are compatible with some older or simpler graphic stuff like the apache-graphic library?
    THX,
    Chrise
PS: Same problem on Mac and Windows.

    Thanks for your repley.
using the plain "save as" on both versions with exactly the same parameters.
Reopening says 300ppi on CS3 and CS4 with both files but opening with e.g. IrfanView shows 300ppi for the CS3 JPG and "empty" for the CS4 JPG.
And now, saving the CS4 file with CS3 (nothing changed, just saved) and the 300ppi are set right for IrfanView and mainly my FO-Processor.
Maybe has somthing to do with the metadata (XMP), I havn't read the JPG specification yet (not amused to do this )

  • JPG resolution and quality

    Dear Indesign scripters,
I'm having a very old script what I made for CS2 and still using for CS5.
Now I'm having trouble to give it the option to choose the resolution in a dialog box.
Know I'm typing the resolution manually in the script but I’m wondering if there is a way to do it with a dialog box.

  • How to improve JPG Resolution in FCP importing from PowerPoint?

Hi.  I've successfully saved my PowerPoint presentation as a folder full of JPG files and imported that folder into Final Cut Pro.  But when I drop these jpg's into the timeline and export the project to .mov, the result is pixelated images, low-quality text and terrible looking photographs embedded into the PowerPoint slides that looked good in PowerPoint.
At what point do I adjust the resolution?  Where and how do I do that?

    Dear Nick Holmes,
Thanks for your highly technical explanations!
May I trouble you for further detail?

"DV"?  Digital video?  How do I "work in a ProRes timeline"?  Is that a setting in FCP?
    >Dpi is a print concept, it means nothing in video. In the NTSC TV format, you only ever have 720x480 pixels, regardless of screen size.
Very good to know and understand.
    >Set your Field Dominance to None.
Please tell me where to find this function.
    >Fully render the Sequence.
Don't judge quality based on what you see in the Canvas -it's a low res proxy used to show the flow of your story.
I'm looking at the exported .mov in Quicktime.
    >Your export codec will be determined by the playback mechanism. A DVD is highly compressed. If you can playback from your computer it can stay in ProRes.
Should I dig around for an LCD projector adaptor that undoubtedly came with my MacBook Pro?  Or is that something I'll have to purchase?
    >You might consider rebuilding the slides to better suit video playback -avoid small Serif typfaces, for example.
Rebuild them in PowerPoint, you mean?

  • Alternate jpg for a Flash Banner

    Good day everyone.
I have a flash banner. I also created an alternate jpg image
