Jpg shows ?  not image

This one has me really baffeled. In Live View in CS4 I can see an image OK. In "View in a Browser ..." I can see it fine in all browsers. When I publish  all I see is where the image is suppose to be is a box with a ?. I can enter the URL for the file and see it OK in anonther window or tab. I can download the image but I cannot see it in context. The problem occured when I placed two div areas in a header. Each holds an image. The first image and div work just fine. The second comes after the first div tag.
I have deleted the pages, images from the remote site. Republished. I have renamed the file and still no difference. This is mind boggleing.
The place to see this is cecashland.com
TIA
Kent

I figured it would be something simple like that. I have received error messages for other symbols like / or \ but got nothing when I used the % sign. Thanks

  • InDesign CS5.5 EPUB export not showing cover image in Adobe Digital Editions

I have a document that I am trying to ensure is reflecting the cover image prior to uploading to several EPUB sites like google and Barnes and Noble. I am using Adobe Digital Editions, Calibre, Firefox (EPUBReader) to do the troubleshooting on the document. Calibre shows the cover image Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) does not. Are their any known problems with ADE not reflecting the cover image that I need to be aware of before I continue working on this?
The ADE help says the following:
"Once the items are in your library, there are two ways to view the content of any bookshelf. You can view thumbnails of your items. The thumbnail is the cover page of the item (or just the first page if it doesn't have a cover page). In this view, you see the set of thumbnails and some information about each item (author, title). You can also sort the order in which the items are shown by author, title, date created, number of pages, and so forth."
Here is basic informaiton. I have a cover page in my export to EPUB but ADE will only show the first page. Again Calibre shows the cover page.
    CS 5.5
The project is a book (indb) composed of multiple documents (indd)
Exporting as book as an EPUB
On general tab I am "Use existing image"
I am rasterizing the first image in Indesign via the "Object - Object export options" but I am not selecting that option when on the general tab of the Export to EPUB options. I am chosing a file from my disk. I thought that maybe the file name was too long but I changed the image to "cover.jpg" and reexported it but it still does not work.
Here are the contents of the content.opf file with all the pointers. I have updated the file as I believe you can tell with guides, creation date, etc....
    It passes the SIGIL check.
The image name is Democracy in Business Dust Jacket 300dpi.jpg. It is 300 dpi and 1650 x 2550. I could also cut in the one that I did for cover.jpg but it only replaces the file name.

I have also been trying to get this cover image to display on PC for NOOK but it appears that everyone is having hits problem too. I have followed some trouble shooting guides and renamed the jpg image, Democracy in Business Dust Jacket 300dpi.jpg to cover.jpg but that doesn't seem to work either for NOOK.
Any help you can give would be appreciated. I am new to InDesign (I know you probably hate hearing that, but I have gotten so close to being done overcoming all the new user hurdles). I think this is my last one before uploading to the appropriate sites - PS. I got the cover page to show up on the Kindle but not Adobe's own product.
    Thanks

ebookjunkie, I have just used InDesign to publish two very short "books" (.99 cent variety) and started this thread with the first question. Look to Bob for the expert advice. This is neophyte advice from someone moving from publishing a full book using Word to EPUB/Kindle and now using InDesign to publish to EPUB/Kindle.
First ADE is useless. I say this out of frustration of trying to use it to troubleshoot problems and it has so many problems in displaying an EPUB that you spend a lot of time troubleshooting ADE issues rather than EPUB problems. The problems are not limited to but won't display a cover page properly, text wrapping is iffy, Drop caps a problem, bringing over supported items like drop caps, all small caps, etc.... are also issues as best I can tell. Humble opinion is delete off your desktop. I use the following to troubleshoot my EPUB's/Kindle books on my Windows platform; Calibre, Barnes and Noble's Nook for PC and iPhone iTunes for EPUB (Sigil to look for errors); and for Kindle, Kindle previewer and Kindle for the PC. Even after doing this, I just today saw my book a buyer's Android "Reader" and the pictures did not display at all. So it is publish once and test everywhere! Unfortunately, you just can't test all the possible devices and iterations of readers. (I am from IBM and we couldn't do it, so how publishers are supposed to figure it out is beyond me!)
On the absolutely great news end, you will see a lot of problems about placing images on the iPad with a lot of workarounds. They apparently (Apple) have fixed this as my two publications show images nicely now on both the iPhone and iPad with the iTunes bookshelf/reader. They were "microdots" when viewed previously. I did nothing to fix it and was just not going to publish to the iPAd and just tested them a few weeks ago and they display perfectly. So Apple has fixed the problem. If it looks good on the Nook for PC, it should look good on the iPAD/iPhone now as best I can tell.
    Cheers

  • PSE 11 Organizer shows broken images on almost all jpgs

    1. I spent three days reorganizing all of my 90,000+ photos, putting them in hierarchical date ordered folders on my Windows 7 PC with 16GB RAM, lots of HD space on my second HD E (recently installed from an older laptop but with 700GB, 60% available).
    2. I rebuilt a new catalog using just the new folders of the 90k plus images.
    3. The first time I tried to rebuild the catalog, Organizer crashed with an "unusual runtime error".
    4. I broke the rebuild down into three smaller pieces adding new folders of 30k images at a time and by midnight last night I had a new catalog.
    5. Bring up the new catalog this morning and most of the images show a broken image. I can edit the jpgs, save them, etc in the editor, etc.
    6. I've turned off face recognition, checked for errors in the catalog (none but corrected anyway). Show all files. Reset editor preferences. None of this helps.
    7. All RW2 files show up, some PSD files do and some do not. Same with JPG's - a very few appear and most show a broken image.
    8. The first time I scrolled through the images, trying to see anything, Organizer would show the image briefly, then go to a broken image.
    9. The "Location" link to the file (I just discovered this) in the Information tab on the right, show the correct file location and that file (which can be edited after all) is just fine. Windows shows the file.
    10. If you edit a file from Organizer, the broken image is repaired. So, a workaround would be to put all 90k images into the PSE editor. I don't think I have that much time...
    11. Task Manager shows 40% CPU and 40% memory usage, btw.
    Ideas, please?

Also, I am now trying to install PSE 12. One of the first instructions is to click Install Adobe Photoshop Elements in the Adobe Photoshop Elements dialog box. When I insert my disc in my DVD drive I don't get a PSE dialog box at all, just the Windows Autoplay dialog box asking what I would like to do with this disc. I can't believe I'm having to ask a question about installing a program from a disc! I'm pretty sure it's just me...

  • How to show an image(jpg/gif) on a JTabbedPanel

    Hi
I tried to show an image on a JPanel of a JTabbedPanel.
I the only way to show it for some time was this:
in the StateChangedListener I use drawImage when the selected panel is teh one I want to draw the image at.
Tracing code makes the panel show, burt when I step
all the way up, the panel will be repainted without my image.
I use mediatracker to get the image loaded.
    Any Idea
    Hanns

JTabbedPane has components as its tabs. Using a JPanel is not mandatory. Try using a JLabel instead with an Icon (use ImageIcon) in it.
    JTabbedPane tabbed = new JTabbedPane();
    tabbed.addTab(
        "my image panel",
        new JLabel( new ImageIcon( "images/MyIcon.gif" ) )
);if your were referring to the image of the little tabs, use this:
    JTabbedPane tabbed = new JTabbedPane();
    tabbed.addTab(
        "my tab",
        new ImageIcon( "images/MyImage.gif" ),
myPanel // instance of Component, can be a JPanel or any JComponent you want.
    );

  • Oracle lite application not showing blob images in BI reports

    Hi,
We have an application running in Oracle lite, we integrated the BI publisher reports (PDF reports are generated Using Data template and RTF file with Java API for BI publisher) with the application. Its been working fine for a long time.
Now we are showing some images on the pdf report, the images are stored in the Oracle lite database as blobs. My application fails when translating the Data template to xml data. I am not getting any exception other than out of memory error after a while.
anybody had the same problem? Let me know if you need more information on this problem.
    Any help will be great!!

    Hi Carsten
That was exactly* I was looking for. Maybe I should Google more in German ;-)
The main problem was that I defined my image outside the first repeating group (that doesn't repeat, it's always just one object) - the first group is followed by 7 more.
Just like the "Name" (that's positioned outside the group in the document header), I positioned the image above the table representing the group.
Doing that, the "Name" is filled correctly, the Image only when the Output Format is Excel or HTML - not Word or PDF ... makes no sense but that's tje way it is.
After moving the image inside the group....it works great!
(One more thing...the image size is fixed to the image you use as "dummy". Is there any way to make that more flexible, because now some scaling happens...)???
@Trent: That was the way we initially did it, but when the size of the row exceeds 32K...you know what happens.. And even with a small image the 32K limit is hit easily
The way I use it now (very similar to Carsten's description) there is no limit....
    Thank you all!
    Roel

  • Photos 1.0 not showing all images from Photos Library.photoslibrary folder/file after update install

I installed the update that changed my iPhoto to Photos 1.0, and the new Photos program is not showing all images from Photos Library.photoslibrary file/folder (not sure to call it file or folder since it is actually a folder with all my pics but it acts more like a file) after update install.  The Photos Library.photoslibrary file/folder shows to be 55 gb in size, and it shows to be loaded into the photos program, but there are maybe a few weeks of pictures showing instead of a few years.  Lots of pictures in the 55 gb are not showing for some reason.

No - iPhotos has not replaced anything - it is new and an addition - iPhoto is still on your system in the applications folder and still works just fine
Outlook is not supported by Photos - not sure if the support must come form Apple or MS as Photos uses a different interface to external packages than iphoto did

  • Mail not showing embedded images

This problem has been bugging me for a while.
I am getting some emails (from my company communications) that are incorrectly formatted by Mail. I see big boxes labeled "Missing Plug-in". The rest of the text is there, but those big boxes make the mail hard to read.
So today I decided to look a bit deeper into the problem. I brought it down to the presence of image tags that call for embedded images (included as attachments) using the "cid:" protocol. For example:
    <img src="cid:[email protected]" alt="Find" border="0">
Is this a restriction in mail (I am running mail 6.1 on Mountain Lion). Or is there some config parameter I need to tweek to enable support for embedded images ?
Thunderbird has no problem. I also did a quick check with Google Mail and Yahoo Mail, and neither show the images. But they just show nothing, so the resulting email is still readable. Mac OSX Mail shows big boxes with the "Missing Plug-in" note. I would be happy if Mail just ignored the images.
I should point out that mail on iPhone and iPad work fine (they display the images).
    Albert

Try this - worked for me...
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20652845#20652845
If that doesn't link properly, here's the original solution, cut and pasted:
    "MailPluginFix"
    From the Code2K:Labs site: http://code2k.net/products/mailpluginfix/
    From MacUpdate: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/37804/mailpluginfix
Just download the fix and double-click it - next time you open mail, you'll see your attachments.

  • Crystal HTML viewer will not show embedded image from Infoview image store

I am having an issue with the html and dhtml viewers not showing an image I have embedded inside a crystal report.  The image has been stored in infoview and embedded into the report from that source.  Using the Crystal ActiveX viewer works fine in this case and shows the image.  The html viewers however show the blank box with the red X in the top left corner when Internet explorer can't find an image.
Now, if I right click on the image and get it's properties I get this URL:
    http://vsx2af0x/crystalreportviewers115/imagehandlerdotnetbridge.aspx?dynamicimage={B8FDE586-08D3-4A14-896C-0FE19AC3DB90}.png
If I take that url and try to load it directly through Internet explorer I get the following error:
Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
The file is small and only about 20k in size.  If someone can help that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Unfortunately I have been unable to remove the plug-in. The files is not locked, or shared, but my operating systems thinks it is.
    What happens, when you try?
When I try to delete the plug-in from
         /Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Google/Analog Efex Pro/
with ⌘⌫, I simply get the pop-up panel to enter my administrator password, and the plug-in will be moved to the Trash:
Don't forget to quit Aperture, before trying to remove the plug-in and to log off and on.

    Hello.
When I receive e-mails from a GroupWare solution (extra.groupcare.dk), embedded images are not shown in Mail 3.4. If I use Gmail or any version of Microsoft Outlook, even Mail 2.1 on Tiger it works fine.
The images are shown as mime-attachment-x, and can be viewed with quick look.

    Hope you can help!

I tried to convert your base64 code and it seemed valid.
The situation you describe is normal to me, though, because I have unticked "Show external images in HTML-messages" in Mail's preferences to save bandwidth when I'm on a mobile connection or similar. Whenever i get one of thoses HTML-mails, e.g. from iTunes Store with a lot of missing images, there will be a blue field at the top of the mail window stating that "This messages contents unloaded images" (or whatever the English translation would be). Additionally, there's a "Download images"-button to get the the missing images.
I don't want to be unpolite, but could that be the case for you too?

  • Images in Tableview Filter not showing as image

I have 2 CRM 7.0 systems which act differently concerning Table Views in the WebUI.
If for example the Activity Search Result List shows the Images for Due, Overdue and Not Due, they are displayed correctly in the TableView itself.
But when i'm clicking on the column header to filter the values, i do not get the images shown, but the image path, e.g.
    img src="/SAP/BC/BSP/SAP/thtmlb_styles/sap_skins/default/images/1x1.gif"
In the other CRM System, i get the Images in the Filter List.
Both Systems are not modified at this point, does anyone know how to get it to work that the Images are shown instead of the HTML-Code?
    Many thanks,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,
the issue was reported before and the note 1325346 should address this. Could you please make sure, that this note is properly installed in both systems? In addition, you should check to clear your browser cache.
    Best Regards,

I've been using LR with my Nikon D3200 for a year or so. Shooting in RAW/NEF no issues with import etc until I updated LR and now I can't get LR to allow me to select when I try to import. It does show the images but they're grayed out and not able to be selected. Any thoughts? TIA

Greyed imaged in the Import dialog box mean you have already imported the photos into Lightroom, so there is no need and no benefit to importing them a second time.
Just go to the Library module, search for the desired photos, and resume working on these photos.

  • Rendered html pages in results file(html) not showing the images of origina

    hi,
rendered html pages in results file(html) not showing the images of original page
when i click on rendered html pages of different html section of a results file.
both master and tested as well.
    thx
    pasumarthi

By design, the report will not show the images, will not apply imported css or javascript files and will not show framesets. Also, in the case that an image is shown there is no guarantee that that was the image that was seen when recording/playback the script.
The rendered html pages that are shown in the report only contains the structure of the html page. If an image is shown the image will be a reference to the location of the image and not a saved copy of the image as part of the report. If the website has a simple structure this can give an idea of what was different. If the website relies extensively on images, stylesheets or javascript to present the information then this report feature becomes less useful.
Few weeks ago I requested a feature request in order to be able to see in the report the page exactly as it was when recording the script and exactly as it was when the script was played back. In the way that the feature request was written it specifies the use of screen captures or saving the page as a pdf file.

  • RH9 Proj Mgr not showing the images

I am importing topics from one RH9 project into another. The topics come in fine, with images intact. However the images are not going into the Proj Mgr "Images" folder. In fact they cannot be seen anywhere via the Project Manager (yes I have selected Show All file types and yes I have tried toggling the Proj Mgr view).
RH does create subfolders within the Images node that are named after the topic folders into which I import the topics, however these show up as being empty. Why does RH9 create them and then not use them?
Windows Explorer shows me that the physical image files are sitting in the <topic name>_files folder that gets created when I import the topic. However, these files are not visible via the project manager.
If I cannot see the image files in the Project Manager, how can I move them into the Images folder? Is there an option I need to set to make the imported images visible in the Project Manager?

    In Windows Explorer I have:
Folder containing the imported HTM files
    |-> Subfolder(s) named after the folder(s) from which the topics were imported, with "_files" added to the folder name(s), containing the images
In Project Manager I see just the top level folder as above, containing imported HTM files. If I toggle to the view that shows an "Images" folder, I see a subfolder under "Images" with the same name as the topic folder but it appears empty.
Hope I'm not being too dense here, but "rename" what folder to what name?

  • Either automatic or manual clone clustering not showing DAM images

    Hi all,
I have 2 servers with CQ 5.4 and CRX 2.2, repository size around 8gb:
    Server 1
    Author :4502 (master)
    Publish : 4503
    Server 2
*Clustered Publish : 4503 (slave) not showing DAM images.
    * I have tried both automatic clustering (the easier one from the CRX-GUI), and manual clone (cp crx-quickstart -> removed cluster_node.id and edited cluster.properties)
Why is this happenning?, How can I solve it?
When I browsed the content of Server 2- clustered publish  4503:crx/index.jsp after the manual clone, the dam assets were already there. Also the size of crx-quickstart folders for author master and publish slave were the same.
Right now I have running the automatic clustered publish instance 16 hours so far, is showing the pages except DAM images. If I go to CRX/index.jsp it says 503 Internal Server Error.
Thanks for reading, and will appreciate any help.
    Regards.

    Hi,
I waited until the synchronising process finished as per the logs, however still the images from DAM are not showing in the clustered slave. If I right click to see any image I got:
    Not Found
The requested URL /etc/designs/geometrixx/_jcr_content/page/logo.img.png/1282235023667.png was not found on this server.
This only happens in the slave instance.
I can add that when I run the master I got this message:
    $> ./start
    22.10.2012 15:36:53 *INFO * Using JVM found at /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_18/bin/java
/opt/apps/cq5/author/crx-quickstart/server/serverctl: line 251: ulimit: open files: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted
    22.10.2012 15:36:53 *INFO * Starting in background...
    22.10.2012 15:36:53 *INFO * Started.
Is there something else that I should look for?
    Thanks for reading.
