Jre version in oracle

Hi,
We are using oracle 9i. We are trying to access .NET service
from oracle. And for this we have written java stored procedure
in oracle which does the job of calling .NET service.
But when we try to load the releavant libraries of webservices
in oracle using loadjava utility, Some of the libraries remain uncompiled.
The reason behind this is that the oracle uses 1.3.1 and the webservices
libraries are compatible with 1.4.
Can anyone suggest how to upgrade jre version for oracle
or is there any other alternative for calling .NET webservice from oracle.

Hi,
Its not possible to upgrade the oracle version, as this is the live application
and the client cant take the risk of upgrading database.
I just want to know that is there any other alternative or can I call
webservice using jdk1.3.1. If yes, please tell me where can i get releavant libraries.
Thanks for your reply

Is it possible to upgrade JRE version of Oracle BPEL ??. If so means then how it is possible ?? what are the measures should I take to achieve the same. Please suggest me. Its very urgent.
    Thanks,

    Hi Rajesh ,
First of all be aware that not all versions of 10.1.3 AS are certified with JDK 6, you need to have at least 10.1.3.4 .
Next, you can either upgrade the JDK for the whole AS, or just for oc4j_soa component.
There are several docs on Metalink that explain how to do this, and I recommend to take a backup of your OH before changing the JDK .
Suppose you already have JDK 6 installed , just edit opmn.xml and add the line
<data id="java-bin" value="/usr/jdk1.6.0/bin/java"/> <--- here put the path to your JDK
    just below
    <category id="start-parameters">
    of the oc4j_soa component.
If you have problems just restore the old opmn.xml from backup and you;ll have back your original settings.

  • JDK/JRE Version support for Oracle Lite

    Hi,
We have developed an application using jdk 1.4.x which also using Oracle9i Lite 5.0.2 release as a database. Application behaves normal except while closing it throws java exception (Exceptio Guard Page Exception) error.
Is it because of the JDK Version we are using? What is the JDK/JRE version level supported by Oracle Lite.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Right
I got the same problem too.
When my program and oracle 9i lite is running under JRE1.3.1, everything is ok.
However, when i migrate the jre to 1.4.x, the program must fail and report DLL exception after closing.
    So trouble~!

  • JRE version with Forms 10.1.2.3

I just finished installing the patch set 3 for Forms Services 10.1.2.0.2 to update to version 10.1.2.3. The purpose was for our users with Windows 7 IE 8 to be able to continue to use Forms.
I understand that this requires JRE 1.6.0_20. However, most machines still have 1.4.2_XX. I am able to use the updated version on my machine that is XP and IE 7 w/ the 1.4.2 JRE version. One of our users with IE 8 gets this message in the Java Console:
    Java Plug-in 1.6.0_20
Using JRE version 1.4.2_12-b03 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
He has the new one installed but it forces use of the old one.
Does anyone have a suggestion in configuration with working around this issue for users that will use either version of JRE w/ this Forms update?
I think an answer would be to uninstall JRE 1.4.2 for users w/ IE 8 but we don't have admin control on our machines.
Not a critical issue but your advice/help is appreciated.

    Phil,
When you upgraded, did you modify the formsweb.cfg to change the JRE requirement? If you didn't that would explain the message your user is getting:
    Java Plug-in 1.6.0_20Using JRE version 1.4.2_12-b03 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM>
As Chidu suggested, change the following lines in the Formsweb.cfg on the app server:

jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0Note: The above entries are JRE U pdate independent - meaning any version of Sun JRE 1.6 will work; it is not specific to update 21 (current update version).
    Hope this helps,

  • Which JRE version to install on 64bit OS (win server 2008)

    Hello everyone
I'm not sure what Java and JCO versions / releases to install on a Windows Server 2008 Standard 64bit Edition. We're installing  Edge BI 3.1... apparently this is 32bit Software. I understand that we need to install JCO 2.1.9. Normally I prefer to install 64bit versions of a software on a 64bit OS.
In the JCO 2.1.9 installation preliminaries I read:
The SAP Java Connector (JCo) 2.1.9 requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.3 or 1.4. The 64-bit JCo versions need a 64-bit JRE version 1.4. Please see SAP note 549268 for a current and detailed list of supported platforms and Java runtime environments.
Unfortunately I can't find a 64bit JRE version 1.4... just a 32bit JRE 1.4.2_19 version. Furthermore this Java version is end of life. See http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/download-138376.html.
So question is: what versions exactly for JCO 2.1.9 (32 or 64 bit) and JRE should I install?
Thanks for some clarification in advance to anyone!
    Renaud
    EDIT:
According to [this|Re: BOE SAP integration kit issue - Java connector] posting it seems that it is required to install the 32bit version of JCO 2.1.9

Actually, this problem is only partially solved. I still get "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock..." when I type 'mysql'. I can access mysql by typing 'sudo mysql', but still get the socket error when connecting via php, so I think I still need to get to the point where I can type mysql without sudo.
Also, I went ahead and installed MySQL 5 with the tar package.

  • Where can I download JRE version to be released October 14, 2014?

You need to contact Oracle if you desire to participate in any of their test programs.
The latest public Java release is the JDK 8u20 update. You can download it from the Downloads tab on this page:
    JDK 8 Update Release Notes
The 'release' you are talking about is likely just the critical patch update as discussed in the 8u20 release notes:
    JDK 8 Update Release Notes
    JRE Expiration Date
The JRE expires whenever a new release with security vulnerability fixes becomes available. Critical patch updates, which contain security vulnerability fixes, are announced one year in advance on Critical Patch Updates, Security Alerts and Third Party Bulletin. This JRE (version 8u20) will expire with the release of the next critical patch update scheduled for October 14, 2014.
Unless you are part of Oracle's pre-release test program you will not have access to versions prior to their public release.

  • Jre version in command line

My application is packed into 1 jar file and run by this command: "java -jar myapp.jar".
I config all the class paths in the manifest.mf file
    java version is jdk1.6.0_23
How to tell in the command line (or other place) what JRE version to use?

If the JRE is properly installed on Windows, informations about each version are stored in the registry. The installation process installs a special java.exe in the system PATH. So you don't need to alter you PATH because this special java.exe will find the current JRE.
With release 1.6, it's now possible to select a different JRE installation than the last one without any registry modification.
The installed JRE are listed in the registry in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment
You can select a specific by using the -version switch. For example, to select the "1.5" as defined in the registry :
    java -version:"1.5" MyClass
See http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/tools/windows/java.html and http://www.rgagnon.com/javadetails/java-0634.html for more infos.

  • Agent Download files, JRE version

It seems the packages staged on my OEM host are using an old version of JRE, even 10.2.0.4.0. After pushing the agent to a Siebel gateway windows host, we are seeing the agent hold on to a critical Siebel file, siebns.dat. The application needs to alter this file from time to time but can't, several hours after a reboot. The OEM agent has been shutdown on the enterprise hosts. Siebel 8 is certified for JRE version 1.5 or higher. An SR has been opened on the Siebel side of Oracle so I'm expecting them to tell me to talk to the DB side of the house.
What is the easiest way to update the JRE on my Windows host? No other versions of Java are installed on the host where the problem lives.

  • Is ActiveXObject Dependent on Jre Version ?

    Hi,
I have a Java Script Code in one of my XSl, in which i read a text file and load the Corresponding HTML file.. in my Web Browser.
But the Code works fine for jre 1.3 and now i have installed jre 1.5...
n now my code fails to read the file... again i installed 1.3.. it works fine...
So if any body has any idea as to whats happening... Plz help me.
    My code is like this....
    function loadfunc()
    var filename= "State_" + document.frmMainmenu.ContextID.value +".txt";
    var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
    var ForReading, file;

  • Jinit or JRE version?

    Jinit or JRE version?
I am working on a large Forms, Reports & Discoverer 6i upgrade to 10.1.2.0.2 project.
We are unsure as to which JVM and which JVM version to put through our build process. User desk tops will be a mixture of NT and XP.
Reading the product statement of direction JRE would appear the way to go. Counter to that is our relative inexperience with the products, particulary on the OAS side and with JInit coming with the product it is also a strong contender.
Im looking for a recommended product and version. My initial leanings are towards
Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.25(2) (Win32(1), based on JDK 1.3.x)

How to find whether the oracle applications 11.5.10.2 is making use of oracle jinit or using JRE pluginPlease see

my jinit version 1.3 .If i upgrage jinit to jre plugin as like jinit download on clinet machine ,the same jre will also get >automatically downloaded to client machine from oracle apps yES.
That is why in step 2.2.1 OF doc 290807.1, we copy the .exe file to $COMM_TOP/util/jinitiator. So that the execuable can be downloaded from the server.

  • Multiple jre versions using same cache location

    Hi,
i searched the web but couldnt find an answer.
I have a Terminal Server deployment with various installed jre Versions (1.6x and 1.7x) on the same Server as well as on different Server Silo Setups.
But for all Servers i configured the Cache Location to H:\Java-Cache (Homefolder of the user) in the deployment.properties file.
    1. are there any Problems to expect when using the same Cache Folder for many different jre Versions (jre 6/7/8) ? Any knows issues about that ?
    2. is it supported to share the same cache Location (for example D:\java-cache) for many users ? i cannot find ony official KB or Oracle Note about this.
There are a few Blog Article out there which describe to configure the Cache Location on a terminal Server to a local location like D:\java-cache shared by
many users. Does it depent on the Java webstart application if tha works well ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Marcus

    Hi Tyler,
In my opinion, you could go ahead with first option - have multiple JRE's and maintain the environment variables accordingly.
This should not be a problem as the envrionment variable would take care of which JRE is used. Also as you have only another ABAP system on the same server, the other older JRE would only be required during the SAPInst operations. Non-existence of a Java system makes things simpler here
