JSF master detail dropdown

Hello,
First of all thank you for your responses. I have some form with fields like name surname sex ..... and a "collector" dropdown box which will be used to collect the data. Here is what I am trying to do. The user fills the fields that I described earlier and press "Add" button so that he can add to a "collector" box do the a same process until he finished doing it. Afterwards the data form the "collector" accompined by other data will be filled to another "collecter" in the same vain. Can JSF provide me to do so.. I mean I can do it with simple Javascript but I want to use JSF with client validation...
Thank you,
addiaababa

You should implement Add actions in your backing beans whitch will add to your SelectItem[] new SelectItem with new collected value.

  • Master-detail dropdown using selectonechoice

    I have a master-detail releationship between 2 views that I want to display as one table (master) with the detail as a selectonechoice dropdown list column in the master table. The example in "Not Yet Documented ADF Sample Applications" no 71 "Dropdown Lists in Table with Different Choices per Row" explains a method for doing this but it involves querying all the detail records and then using the foreign key in the master to filter the rows in memory, which is not efficient for a large detail view.
    Is there a better way?

    I think you'll need to use an af:foreach inside your dropdown list components to list the details for each master.

    Hi,
    the problem seems not to be within your application but in missing files on your embedded OC4J. Just try and unzip the JDeveloper 10.1.3 install again.

    dragged CreateInsert operation from the detail table datacontrol on to the detail form. When I enter the detail and click on submit the data is not getting submitted in the database.
    Please help me in this.
    Thankd In Advance.

    I have a dropDownBox which has a database table containing artist names attached to it. I accomplished this by dragging the artist table onto the dropDownBox.
    I created a dataTable and dragged the table, Inventory, that contains a list of all the prints for an artist. The primary key for this table is the stock number, The primary key for the artist table is the artist code.
    I would like to be able to select an artist from the dropDownBox and have only the fineart related to that artist displayed in the dataTable.
    I followed the example in the tutorial, but its not working. I noticed that the way the master/detail relationship is done in the Application Model is totally different. I am new to java and web programming, so the way it was done in the application model I don't understand enough to replicate.
    If you look at my original post, I provided the error messages and a copy of my code. This application is a school project which needs to be turned in by Tuesday of this coming week, I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Synchronization between two master detail jsf page

    hi guys,
    i have two jsf page, how can i synchronize the row selected (af:table) on the first page of one master detail ( the detail table) with the second page.
    In my case in the second page i can make modifications in a dialog Popup, but the row selected (the detail table) in the first page is shown in the popup
    i want the selected record of the detail table in the second page will be shown in the popup
    thanks for your help
    Edited by: fakhri_tn on Nov 13, 2012 11:47 PM

    Hi,
    in this case you need to pass the SelectedRowKeySet of the detail table in page one. So what you can do is
    1. create a managed bean in page flow scope
    2. when navigating to page 2, access the table component (make sure you don't create a managed bean component reference in the page flow bean and instead use a backing bean for component instance lookup) and read its selected row key set
    3. On page 2, reference the page flow managed bean saved rowKeySet from the selected row keys property of the table

  • Master - detail

    Hi all,
    I did search for master detail posts, but didn't find what I was looking for. So if you feel that this has been answered a long time ago...don't hesitate to point me to those posts :-)
    This is for a home-project so...no pressure, but I can't get it working so .... here is it :
    In a web application (JSF 1.2) (visual java server faces)
    I have a table with master data :
    content.jsp
    <webuijsf:table augmentTitle="false" binding="#{content.content_tb}" id="content_tb" style="left: 24px; top: 96px; position: absolute; width: 0px" title="Table" width="1100">
        <webuijsf:tableRowGroup binding="#{content.content_rg}" id="content_rg" rows="10" sourceData="#{content.contentDataProvider}" sourceVar="currentRow">
            <webuijsf:tableColumn headerText="id" id="tableColumn1" sort="content.id" width="100">
                <webuijsf:hyperlink actionExpression="#{content.content_id_hl_action}" id="content_id_hl" text="#{currentRow.value['content.id']}"/>
            </webuijsf:tableColumn>
            <webuijsf:tableColumn headerText="naam" id="tableColumn2" sort="content.naam" width="100">
                <webuijsf:textField id="textField1" text="#{currentRow.value['content.naam']}"/>
            </webuijsf:tableColumn>
            <webuijsf:tableColumn headerText="categories" id="tableColumn3" width="100">
                <webuijsf:dropDown binding="#{content.dropDown1}" converter="#{content.dropDown1Converter}" id="dropDown1" items="#{content.categoriesDataProvider.options['categories.id,categories.naam']}" selected="#{currentRow.value['content.categories_id']}"/>
            </webuijsf:tableColumn>
    ...As you can see the first column in this table is the ID column which is a hyperlink.
    This hyperlink links to a detail page in which one can do updating to the content.
    The better part of this detail page is :
    Update.jsp
    <webuijsf:form id="form1">
        <webuijsf:hyperlink actionExpression="#{update_content.comasy_admin_hl_action}" id="comasy_admin_hl" style="left: 24px; top: 24px; position: absolute" text="Comasy_admin"/>
        <webuijsf:hyperlink actionExpression="#{update_content.content_hl_action}" id="content_hl" style="left: 120px; top: 24px; position: absolute" text="Content"/>
        <webuijsf:label id="label1" style="left: 24px; top: 0px; position: absolute" text="Comasy-admin"/>
        <webuijsf:button id="apply_bt" style="left: 23px; top: 48px; position: absolute" text="Apply"/>
        <webuijsf:label id="label2" style="left: 24px; top: 72px; position: absolute" text="Title"/>
        <webuijsf:textField id="title_tf" style="left: 120px; top: 72px; position: absolute" text="???????????????????????"/>
        <webuijsf:messageGroup id="messageGroup1" style="left: 408px; top: 24px; position: absolute"/>
    </webuijsf:form>
    ...My problem is now at the place where the ???? are.
    I want the textfield (title_tf) to be populated with the value which is in the cachedrowsetdataprovider for the particular row I clicked the hyperlink on.
    Do you have any idea what value expression I should use?
    I was thinking myself something like :
    "#{content.contentDataProvider.????????????}"
    Can someone point me into the rigth direction
    Best regards
    Martijn

    I solved the problem myself YIHAAA.
    Probably not the smartest way to solve it, but hey..it works and...I've got to learn somehow.
    In the end I didn't use value expressions (which I still think would be a more beautifull solution).
    When clicking the command_link I fill a proporty of the sessionbean whith the rowkey of the selected row. When JSF has navigated me to the detailpage I retrieve the value from the sessionbean. With the retrieved rowkey I can fill the other neccesary fileds in the detailpage in the _init() from the backing bean of the detail page:
    Master page conatains the following (action for the command_link):
    public String content_id_hl_action() {
            getSessionBean1().setContent4update(content_rg.getRowKey());
            return "case3";
        }detail page contains:
    private void _init() throws Exception {
            crsdp.setCachedRowSet((javax.sql.rowset.CachedRowSet) getValue("#{SessionBean1.contentRowSet}"));
            title_tf.setValue(crsdp.getValue("naam", getSessionBean1().getContent4update()));
            body_ta.setText(crsdp.getValue("body", getSessionBean1().getContent4update()));
        }thanx for thinking with me
    Regards Martijn

  • Master-detail: detail field not displayed after changed by master field

    I want to use the Depends on item with Clear/refresh value functionality in a master detail situation. Within the same group it is no problem to use the setter method of a field to change a second field and then displaying this new value. But in the detail group, I can not select items from the master group as a depends on item.
    In the setter of the master field, the value in a field for each row in the detail (table layout) is updated. The only problem is that this updated value is not displayed, the old value doesn't change. When saving the changes, the displayed value is committed to the database. When de updated field is not displayed at all, the correct value is saved, so I know the detail field is updated.
    How can I make sure the displayed value in the detail is displayed after changeing a master field? I already gave the detail field the correct partial trigger.

    Wouter,
    I guese you don;t see the changed value when you display the detail item because after the depends on item update changed the detail item, JSF procesing continues and the detail table changes are sent to the server which will override again the detail item attriibute, resetting it to the old, still displayed value.
    So, the trick is to get PPR working. Make sure the partialTYriggers property of the detail item is set to the value of the id property of the master item. If it still doesn't work, try setting the partial triggers property on the table, instead of the individual item.

  • Using bind variables in the model view for master detail

    Hi all,
    I have a master-detail views setup on the following two queries.
    In the first query below - I use two bind variables to collect the start and end date.
    you have to add (and :startDate = :startDate and :endDate = :endDate) or you will get errors - bind not defined in sql
    I then use the viewQueryCriteria to collect the data on a search panel - so far so good. (Make the bind variables required) along with the other criteria.
    The bind variables are displayed in the search panel and the data is entered correctly.
    The query executes and all is happy.
    VIEWOBJECT1
    SELECT DepositAccounts.COA_ID,
    ... ChartOfAccounts.ACCOUNT_CODE || ' ' || ChartOfAccounts.ACCOUNT_TITLE as description
    FROM DEPOSIT_ACCOUNTS DepositAccounts, DEPOSIT_ACCOUNT_DETAILS DepositAccountDetails, CHART_OF_ACCOUNTS ChartOfAccounts
    WHERE DepositAccounts.ID = DepositAccountDetails.DEP_ACC_ID
    and ChartOfAccounts.id = DepositAccountDetails.COA_ID
    and :startDate = :startDate and :endDate = :endDate
    Now I add the summation of a value (AMOUNT) to the view object (java - create view impl) to the VOViewRowImpl
    and everything works - the value is shown in the transient attribute formatted and looking nice.
    VIEWOBJECT2
    SELECT PostingBatchAccounts.AMOUNT,
    FROM POSTING_BATCH_ACCOUNTS PostingBatchAccounts, POSTING_BATCHES PostingBatches
    where PostingBatchAccounts.PB_ID = PostingBatches.ID
    and PostingBatches.SOURCE_DATE between :startDate and :endDate
    Now I need to add the start date and end date to the child query - before the view executes (or the summation is calculated).
    The attributes are in the where clause (PostingBatches.SOURCE_DATE between :startDate and :endDate) in VIEWOBJECT2 which is the child.
    I need the child records and the summation to work with the date restrictions.
    I would assume you could get access to the child view in the VOViewImpl file and set the bind variables there.
    Everything I find is based on the JSF - not the model layer - this should be fairly easy (and common). can anyone give me a hand on this?

    Hi all,
    I have a master-detail views setup on the following two queries.
    VIEWOBJECT1
    SELECT DepositAccounts.COA_ID,
    ... ChartOfAccounts.ACCOUNT_CODE || ' ' || ChartOfAccounts.ACCOUNT_TITLE as description
    FROM DEPOSIT_ACCOUNTS DepositAccounts, DEPOSIT_ACCOUNT_DETAILS DepositAccountDetails, CHART_OF_ACCOUNTS ChartOfAccounts
    WHERE DepositAccounts.ID = DepositAccountDetails.DEP_ACC_ID
    and ChartOfAccounts.id = DepositAccountDetails.COA_ID
    and :startDate = :startDate and :endDate = :endDate
    Now I add the summation of a value (AMOUNT) to the view object (java - create view impl) to the VOViewRowImpl
    and everything works - the value is shown in the transient attribute formatted and looking nice.
    VIEWOBJECT2
    SELECT PostingBatchAccounts.AMOUNT,
    FROM POSTING_BATCH_ACCOUNTS PostingBatchAccounts, POSTING_BATCHES PostingBatches
    where PostingBatchAccounts.PB_ID = PostingBatches.ID
    and PostingBatches.SOURCE_DATE between :startDate and :endDate
    Now I need to add the start date and end date to the child query - before the view executes (or the summation is calculated).
    The attributes are in the where clause (PostingBatches.SOURCE_DATE between :startDate and :endDate) in VIEWOBJECT2 which is the child.
    I need the child records and the summation to work with the date restrictions.
    I would assume you could get access to the child view in the VOViewImpl file and set the bind variables there.

  • Filter on Master Detail tables

    Hi,
    I've just created a simple Master Detail view (both tables) on my jsf page.
    I would like to add a filter above all the master table columns but I can't.
    I have set all the properties linked to Filtering I've seen to "true" (for the table and the columns) but I don't see the header with the filter field.
    I'm just wondering what value I should set in the FilterModel property. When I create a simple table, it's linked to a queryDescriptor, but this doesn't exist for my master table.
    Could anyone help ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    here's what happens when you create a filterable table using the table dialog. If you want to apply this manually, then the same steps need to be performed
    - A search binding is added to the executables section in the ADF page definition file of the containing page. The binding is configured by the <searchRegion> metadata element.
    - The queryListener attribute is set to reference the processQuery method that is exposed by the <searchRegion> implementation class
    - The filterModel attribute is set to point to the query descriptor exposed on the ADF hierarchical binding that exists for the table.
    - The filterVisible attribute is set to true to display the filter input components above the table header, as shown in figure 09-4. The filterVisible attribute value can be set using Expression Language, allowing the application developer to dynamically control when a user is allowed to filter the table and when he or she isn’t.
    - The filterable attribute is set to true on the contained columns. To exclude a column from query-by-example, set this property to false.
    I suggest you drop a second instance of the master table to get the bindings created. Copy the settings of the table to the first one. Change the references to the second table binding to point to the first and then delete the second master table. Sounds easier to me

  • How to create Insert & Update on master-detail form JPA/EJB 3.0

    Is there any demonstration or tips how to Insert record on master-details form for JPA/EJB 3.0 with ADF binding?

    I have master-detail forms (dept-emp). I drag the dept->operations->create method to JSF page. But when I click create button, only dept form is clear and ready for insert. But emp form is not clear. How can I add create method for this?
    Can you give some example how to pass the right object to the persist or merge method so that it can save both the two objects (master-detail tables)
    Thanks

  • Master detail problem

    Using jsf/adf with business components.
    I have a jsp page which displays form information. This page can be used to create a new record or edit existing record. On the form, there is a section for home addresses and a different section for work addresses. I have a master detail setup. The master record is essentially an employee (view object). Also, i have one view object for Home Addresses and one view object for Work Addresses. The difference is simply in the sql where clause. One retrieves addresses where address_type LIKE 'WORK%' and the other view retrieves addresses where address_type LIKE 'HOME%. So, both views are built on the same address table. (entity object). There is a one to many (master/detail) relationship between employee and home addresses. There is also a one to many (master/detail) relationship between employee and work addresses. So, I've created view link objects for both the home address and work address and associated each to the parent record to get the master detail hooked up. things work great when i'm trying to retrieve and edit a record(s). The home addresses and work addresses are kept separate like they should be and displayed in their appropriate sections on the form. The problem i'm having is with the create record. When the page is first rendered, I want blank input fields to display for both the master record and the detail records. So, i'm programmatically creating the master and detail records before the page is rendered. I create the master row, then create one row for the work address section and one row for the home address section. The problem i'm having is that both of the detail rows which are created this way are displaying in the same work address section. So, when the page is first rendered, i see input fields only in the work address section, and both the rows have been created there, which is evidenced by the fact that i can scroll thru these two newly created records using the "next" button that was dragged/dropped for the work address section. During the create process, it appears (thru debugging) that both of these detail rows are being created properly, with their own separate iterator, so why does it appear that both rows belong to the same iterator when the page is first rendered? I have included the code below which creates the master detail rows:
    //this method is called upon the initial entry into the tabbed page if
    //user is in "create" mode. It handles creating the master and detail row(s).
    public void createMasterDetailRows(){
    ViewObject vo = getMasterView();
    Row masterRow = vo.createRow();
    masterRow.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    vo.insertRow(masterRow);
    //for the initial entry into the tabbed page in create mode, the address row(s) must be created explicitly.
    createWorkAddressRow();
    createHomeAddressRow();
    public void createWorkAddressRow(){
    RowIterator iterator = (RowIterator)this.getMasterView().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("WorkAddressView");
    Row newWorkAddressRow = iterator.createRow();
    newWorkAddressRow .setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    iterator.insertRow(newWorkAddressRow );
    int rowCount = iterator.getRowCount();
    System.out.println("Address row inserted at " + rowCount);
    public void createHomeAddressRow(){
    RowIterator iterator = (RowIterator)this.getMasterView().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("HomeAddressView");
    Row newHomeAddressRow = iterator.createRow();
    newHomeAddressRow.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    iterator.insertRow(newHomeAddressRow);
    int rowCount = iterator.getRowCount();
    System.out.println("Home Address row inserted at " + rowCount);
    }

    Sergio,
    You need to set the currency to the row passed in the request parameter from the browse page.
    You can used the row tag to do that:
    <jbo:Row id="rowCur" datasource="yourMasterDS" rowkeyparam="jboRowKey" action="find">Charles.

  • Master/detail/detail

    using jsf/adf bc. I've got a jspx which needs to display data from a master/detail/detail setup. In a 'create' mode, i'm programmatically handling the create/insert stuff for the new master and detail rows. I'll try to explain my problem using a Departments/Employees/EmployeeAddresses example.
    I've created a view link between Departments and Employees. I've created a view link between Employees and EmployeeAddresses. These have all been added to the active data model so that it looks like this:
    DepartmentView
    -Employees via Employees1
    -EmployeeAddresses via EmployeeAddresses1
    The code i use to create/insert the master and subsequent detail rows is as follows:
    //create master (department) row
    ViewObjectImpl vo = getDepartmentView();
    Row departmentRow = vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(departmentRow);
    //create the detail (Employees) row to be associated with its master (Department)
    ViewObjectImpl employeesVO = getEmployees();
    Row newEmployeeRow = employeesVO.createRow();
    employeesVO.insertRow(newEmployeeRow);
    //create the detail/detail (EmployeeAddresses) row to be associated with its master (Employees)
    ViewObjectImpl employeeAddressVO = getEmployeeAddresses();
    Row newEmployeeAddressRow = employeeAddressVO.createRow();
    employeeAddressVO.insertRow(newEmployeeAddressRow);
    The problem seems to be with the last level detail row, the one for EmployeeAddresses. creating in this fashion doesn't seem to associate the new EmployeeAddress row to it's master, Employees. Although when the page is rendered, i can see that new rows have indeed been created/inserted for each of these view objects. After filling in valid values and committing, i get the JBO-27014 (Attribute is required) error for each attribute in the EmployeeAddresses table. So, it's as if this EmployeeAddress row that was created is not tied in with the Employees row, which is in turn tied in to the Department row.
    Note: if i remove the create/insert code for this last detail row (EmployeeAddress) and simply have a basic master/detail setup between Department and Employee, everything works great when i create new rows this way and save. It seems that my problem stems from the fact that i'm adding another detail level onto my master/detail setup. Is there something different i should be doing?

    Hi,
    Thanks guys for your response.. i did it myself following way..
    created 2 view links. having same source.
    added both vos to same source in application module it self.

    Santosh.

  • Creating master detail rows

    using adf/bc with jsf. I have defined a master detail relationship between two entities. This relationship is a composition relationship. The entities are related by a view link which link the master and detail view objects. i have a need to create/insert a master row and a detail row programmatically "on the fly" so that when the jsp renders, the user will see blank inputs for both the master and detail view objects. The problem is that the primary key of the master record is not known at creation time ( it will be entered by the user) and therefore the detail record cannot be created by the framework because of the unknown value of the parent's primary key. I was hoping the following section in the adf guide would eliminate my problem, but it doesn't appear to:
    This is from section 26.7.3.2 of the adf developer's guide
    Note: An alternative to the programmatic technique discussed
    above, which solves the problem at the J2EE application layer, is the
    use of deferrable constraints at the database layer. If you have control
    over your database schema, consider defining (or altering) your
    foreign key constraints to be DEFERRABLE INITIALLY DEFERRED.
    This causes the database to defer checking the constraint until
    transaction commit time. This allows the application to perform DML
    operations in any order provided that by COMMIT time all appropriate
    related rows have been saved and would alleviate the parent/child
    ordering described above. However, you would still need to write the
    code described in the following sections to cascade-update the foreign
    key values if the parent’s primary key is assigned from a sequence.
    This approach did not help in allowing me to create the detail record without first knowing the value of the parent's primary key record in a composition relationship. The only thing i've found to work is define the relationship as just an association, and not a composition. However, this is a true one to many (composition) relationship and i would like to take advantage of some of the features of the framework that are there when a relationship is defined as a composition relationship. Is there any way to do what i need to do with a composition relationship defined between these two entities? Thanks.

    Hi,
    I guess you need a "Cascading LOVs".
    1) Create viewObject for country values list. Named VO1.
    2) Create viewObject for state values list. Named VO2.
    3) Create view criteria for (bind variable) VO2 which can restrict the result by country.
    4) Create view accessor to get VO1.
    5) Create view accessor to get VO2. Define the bind variable value which can provide country info dynamically. I guess it should be a Groovy expression.
    6) Create country LOV on step 4) view accessor.
    7) Create state LOV on step 5) view accessor.
    Done
    On the view layer, you may enable PPR between country and state attributes.

  • Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 : Master Detail Using Fragment Error

    Hi
    When developing a master detail solution, using a page fragment, I have encountered the following issues. I have followed forum articles and My Support solutions with success. The steps I used to create the solution is as follows;
    1. Create ADF model project with 2 entities sharing a master detail relatiuonship.
    2. Ensure that FK assocation has Behavior property Composition Association checked.
    3. Test application module. Create works on both master and detail tables.
    4. Create ADF view controller project.
    5. Create a new task flow, with page fragments and add page to flow.
    6. Add master detail VO to created page fragment.
    7. Surround tables with Panel Collection components.
    8. Add toolbar and buttons to createinsert into master and detail tables.
    9. Add PPR to both tables for refresh when createinsert actions are performed.
    10. Create test page.
    11. Add task flow as region to page.
    12. Run adfc-config.xml
    13. Click on createinsert of master table. Capture data.
    14. Click on createinsert of detail table.
    15. Error stack is generated, JBO-25030 Detail entity with row key null cannot find or invalidate it's owning entity.
    I then created a JSF page and added the tables directly onto the page. I successfully created a master and a detail record.
    I then checked the Cascade Update Key attributes on the association and added the following code to the master ViewRowImpl class;
    @Override
    public void setNewRowState(byte state) {
    if (state != Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED || getNewRowState() != Row.STATUS_NEW) {
    super.setNewRowState(state);
    I ran the page containing the region and the following error was generated;
    <Utils><buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: Attribute RegionId in Regions is required.
    oracle.jbo.AttrValException: JBO-27014: Attribute RegionId in Regions is required.
    I then changed auto-submit to true for the PK on the master table. This produced no error, however only the master records PK is committed to the database, other attribute values are ignored and the detail record is not committed.
    Regards
    Leon.
