JSF problem in JBoss Portal Server 2.6.0-CR2

In JBoss Portal Server the default page will display all portlets you create by default. The portlet in question, developed using Java Studio Creator, works perfectly on the default page. However, once included in a page on the "dashboard", it no longer functions correctly. Text fields get inexplicably cleared, buttons do not get enabled as they should, and a selection in a drop down list box actually invokes the code for a button click.
Any help understanding what is going on here would be highly appreciated.
Nils

  • Creator2 portlet on JBoss Portal Server 2.2

Has anyone managed to get a JSF Portlet created with Creator2 to run on JBoss Portal server 2.2? I've found documents on getting Creator2 to work with JBoss AS, but not JBoss Portal.
JBoss Portal Server uses MyFaces and I would like to keep for example the JBoss CMS portlet and add custom portlets created by Creator2 (so some portlets would use MyFaces and some would use RI).
    Thanks for any pointers,
    Lloyd

Apparently JBoss is using MyFaces for some of their portlets. From what I can tell, I could replace the MyFaces jars with RI jars, which might work, but would cause all the JBoss portlets that are distributed (or at least the admin) portlet to not work.
In short, you can use RI with JBoss portal, but then some/all of the JBoss portlets may not work.

  • Portlet problem on Oracle Portal Server....

    Hi all,
    i m using Oracle Portal Server 10.1.2.
    Problem is as follows:-
There are two portlets (P1, P2) added on two seperate portal tabs( TB1,TB2) respectively under Portal Builder.
On portlet P1 when i do a action say Save and it saves the data.
now i go to portlet P2 which is on tab TB2 and when i come back on TB1 to go on portlet P1 then in the PortletRenderRequest i still get action value as Save and it saves the previous data once more.
in short....:- even moving on portal tabs the previous action of the last rendered portlet is firing.
how it is persisting the action in request , even after i have done with moving on portal tabs.
even on refreshing the page it is adding the same data again.
But this doesn't happen with IBM Portal Server.(Tested the same code with all the above conditions)
could any one please have some thoughts ???

    Hi Guys,
One good thing i found is
When i perform the same operations (as described in the first post of this thread) with JSR168 Portlets then it is working Perfectly.
So i feel , only the problem is with JPDK Porltet and not with Oracle Portal Server.
It's good to see that JSR168 are working fine except
    portletURL.setPortletMode(PortletMode.EDIT) ( till now i found this only )

    Thanks in advance.

First you install a JDK6 version after which you can install your WebLogic and Forms, Reports...
    A step-by-step example is presented here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7265
Look in the 'Install WebLogic' section. Note that you probably do not have to create a separate user,
also you can use HotSpot instead of JRockit.

If you haven't solved this yet, it looks as if your DB server is not
running, hence any elements that rely on a db server, such as connection
pools and elements that use those pools such as datasources are not
    going to start correctly.
It seems that properties are not properly assigned in the
startPointBase.cmd script on Windows NT (haven't verified behaviour on
2000 although I know it works out of the box on Solaris). I'd suggest
starting the pointbase server manually with the correct pointbase.ini
file and then starting WLS/WLP afterwards.

  • Sun Java System Portal Server 7 Problems with IE7

    Hello,
I have just finished deploying Sun Java System Portal Server 7 on a Sparc box when I try to log in on IE6 or IE7 nothing happens.
What could be the problem and how do I get the logs of what could be going wrong
    Thanks

is the problem only w/ IE6 and 7? or is that just all that you've tried? :) on a *nix platform, you can find the portal logs at:
    /var/opt/SUNWportal/logs/...and
/var/opt/SUNWportal/portals/<portal-id>/logs/<instance-id>/...there is also the web container log, the location of which varies depending on the vendor. for example, for SJS app server 8.2, the logs are at:
    /var/opt/SUNWappserver/domains/domain1/logs/hope this helps.

Has anybody used it or knows the solution?

  • Portal server on internet problems

    Hi,

Backend server not visible on internet
Accessing the Portal from internet as ADMINISTRATOR allows me to do anything I want. That's ok. No problem with this.
Thing is, I have some BSP's iviews on portal that call bsp's on backend server.
I cannot execute those views accessing portal from internet, PAGE NOT FOUND errors shows up.
But, it works ok when using portal within the intranet.
Tha thing is, we are not allowed to publish backend on internet.
Backend is WAS6.4 with integrated ITS.
Any idea how to fix this?, the point is to be able to run bsp's portal iviews when accessing portal from internet. I read a lot about this, but seems that ITS server must be published on internet. Is it any other option?
    Thank you in advance

  • Problem  with importing par file in portal server 6.2

    Hi everyone,
I got the following error when trying to import IFRAME provider into portal server 6.2.
    Operation failed.
ERROR: provider element has no version attribute
Below is the command I used. I run it as a file - I supply the password at the command line.

This used to work in Portal Server 6.0. I looked through the Portal Server 6.2 Desktop Customization Guide and the Developer guide for portal 6.2 but did not find any reference to version number.
    Thanks.

After a successful install the Directory, AM servers are down. You will have to start them after the install.
Stop start the process below in the order:
    Stop/Start Directory Server instance:
Stop/Start Webcontainer instance running AM Server and Portal Server
    Restart Cacao /opt/SUNWcacao/bin/cacaoadm restart
If the above does not fix it, take a look at the /var/opt/SUNWportal/portals/portal1/logs/<portal-instance>/*.logs
