Just a little Upset

I put insurance on my girlfriends phone without a test call from Verizon I might add to make sure the phone was working, we went Kayaking that day in the river, hence insurance on the phone. She flipped her kayak and her phone ended up in the river.  I waded in and found it, turned it off and let it dry.  When we turned it back on there was nothing but a ruined phone.  I called to make a claim on the phone and it wasn't even registered on the devices.  I then went to the Verizon store where the Store Manager tried every aspect to help my girlfriend with her phone with no avail.  Verizon blamed the insurance company and the insurance company blamed Verizon.   Really... I have been a customer of Verizon since 2008 and this is the first time I have ever had an issue.  Now my girlfriend is out a $600 phone and I am about ready to leave Verizon since they can't seem to make this right no matter which way the situation is.   So FED UP!!!

You mentioned you added insurance to the phone before going on your trip. Where was the insurance added. Please keep in mind that you are only able to add insurance within 30 days of the phone being purchased.
When was her phone originally purchased? If you were passed the 30 days we would not be able to add the insurance.

    I just want to shout out on a topic...I ordered the new Galaxy S5 on Monday and was told by customer service that everything was complete and that I would have the phone by Friday (this is after I paid for overnight shipping).  After coming home from work and realizing my phone was not here, I began calling Verizon.  After three hours of arguing back and forth, I was told that our original order had been cancelled on Monday.   So now I had to go through the entire process again to place order, confirm order and hopefully get a phone by tomorrow. 
    I logged into my Verizon account and tried to confirm order and received a "black screen" and then a message stating that I had no pending orders. 
    Tried calling the number on my email to confirm order only to find out that the confirmation number and order location number was not recognized by their computer system. 
    Tried calling customer service and can't get any assistance from them....I am NOW being told that my order has already been confirmed (same thing I was told on Monday) and that I will receive my phone tomorrow  (except, they don't ship this late at night--it's 9:30 PM here).  So how am I to get my new phone????
    Been waiting a week....nearest Verizon store is out of stock.  This is SO frustrating!!!  
    I was a HUGE fan of Verizon until this week....love the phone service with this company compared to other wireless companies but their customer service recently sucks!!!

  • [Thinkpad Yoga] Just a little bit of baby pee: few keys kaput!

    Hi,
    The other day our baby peed on my laptop. I don't know whether it was on purpose, he just tells me brrrruu. Now, these keys are not working: Backspace, Left Shift, Esc, Tab, T, Y, [ and ].
    I had this before, with just a little bit of water, exactly the same. Then they replaced the keyboard. Unfortunately I cannot send it back for repairment.
    What to do? I've heard of trying to clean it with a pressured air can, I'll try to find that one. Any ideas?
    Btw, I thought thinkpad keyboards were water proof?

    Your baby is quite precocious by so eloquently expressing his opinion about your TP... :-)
    As the human urine does contain conductive and corroding salts (more than the sea water), I'd open my TP, take the KB module out and try to wash it with distiled water. Then let it dry and put it back.
    This should gently dissolve and remove the potential shortcircuits, w/o the aggressivity of pure alcohol - professionally used for quick repairs in such case. Also the smell will vanish ;-).
    Strong opinions are costly, particularly when the point is made with bodily fluids :-)

    Seems like there is some physical damage causing an intermittent issue of the iPhone being unable to power on.
    You could try a reset:
    - hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
    - the iphone will turn off(keep holding) then when the Apple logo appears release both buttons
    If the reset fails I would suggest next time it powers on to try and back it up to either iTunes/iCloud then you can try a restore to factory settings or just back up and book an appointment at an Apple Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

    I'm sorry, there is no way to change that. It is a change with the newer iOS 7. You can provide feedback to Apple, like a large group of others have that are disappointed in this at www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

  • How to export just a little piece of a comp?

    Can I export just a little piece of the comp rather than "Export active comp to new track" which delivers the whole comp?
    After I comp my take and then listen to it again, sometimes I just want to go back and change one little part. The workflow would be alot easier if I could just export a small part, either with the loop indicator or another way.

    Try hold the shift key while comping. This allows you to adjust the boundaries of one take, without filling in the area from another take. You can make holes, or create a comp with just one phrase. You'll probably end up with a couple of really narrow slices on a couple takes in the middle of a blank area - just grab and move them all the way to the edge with the regular swipe tool. Also when you now export, or move, this comp you may end up with a couple extra regions on the very front and back of the whole take area, but those are easy enough to delete.

    You will first have to install the OS that shipped with the Mac. After that, you can upgrade it to Mavericks.

    It's A1549 model. Yeah i knew this is US version before i buy this. What i'm confusing now do u think this iphone i bought is a brand new one and why there is a sim card already inside the simcard slot? Even its working smoothly using a network in UAE. Some of my friends bought there US version of iphone but they bought it without simcard inside the sim card slot.

    When I am playing my music through iTunes 7 the song, that I am playing, randomly seem to skip down a few places. It's kind of hard to explain and I hope I am not making it too difficult to understand.

    Say I start playing "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" it will jump down to track 8 (or anywhere down the list). It may seem like a small problem but it makes it unable to play an album straight through! It jumbles everything up
    It only happens when I am playing my ipod through the PC and my music list is sorted by 'Album '. Not when I sort by 'Album by year' or 'Album by Artist'

    I've had exactly the same problem, but have worked out how to fix it. I'm not sure if this the best, or indeed most logical, way to fix it, but it seems to work.
    Select all the tracks in an album which is misbehaving, right-click and "Get Info", and then add an entry in the new "Album Artist" section. Any old text will do. When you choose "OK" to accept the changes, the album's order will return to normal.
    I did this with hundreds of albums yesterday before it occurred to me that maybe it would be possible to just select every song in the music library at once, and just type a a generic description in the "Album Artist" section. I haven't tried this, so don't do it unless you're 100% sure of what you're doing, but it does sound like a logical step.

    1. Its up to ATT when they want to release the blackberry passport just have to be a little patience.
    2. Yes blackberry passport will come in white & black as their were demo version of it at the blackberry passport announcement events. Not sure yet when it will be release. Since ATT is exclusive carrier maybe they will carry the white passport .

  • I got my iPod just a LITTLE wet, and it don't work?

    I spilled a whole cup of tea on my purse, and my iPod was in it; the touch screen works, but only a little bit. I can only move the  "swipe to unlock" button halfway, and then it stops working. Does anyone know how i can fix this? I'm clueless, and really love this iPod & can't afford another one

    Put it in a bag along with a small amount of silica gel, leave it there for a week, it may or may not recover, baking powder also works but whichever you use make sure to put it in something that doesn't spill over the ipod
