Just a little upset w/ Verizon

I just want to shout out on a topic...I ordered the new Galaxy S5 on Monday and was told by customer service that everything was complete and that I would have the phone by Friday (this is after I paid for overnight shipping).  After coming home from work and realizing my phone was not here, I began calling Verizon.  After three hours of arguing back and forth, I was told that our original order had been cancelled on Monday.   So now I had to go through the entire process again to place order, confirm order and hopefully get a phone by tomorrow. 
I logged into my Verizon account and tried to confirm order and received a "black screen" and then a message stating that I had no pending orders. 
Tried calling the number on my email to confirm order only to find out that the confirmation number and order location number was not recognized by their computer system. 
Tried calling customer service and can't get any assistance from them....I am NOW being told that my order has already been confirmed (same thing I was told on Monday) and that I will receive my phone tomorrow  (except, they don't ship this late at night--it's 9:30 PM here).  So how am I to get my new phone????
Been waiting a week....nearest Verizon store is out of stock.  This is SO frustrating!!!  
I was a HUGE fan of Verizon until this week....love the phone service with this company compared to other wireless companies but their customer service recently sucks!!!

You mentioned you added insurance to the phone before going on your trip. Where was the insurance added. Please keep in mind that you are only able to add insurance within 30 days of the phone being purchased.
When was her phone originally purchased? If you were passed the 30 days we would not be able to add the insurance.

    I put insurance on my girlfriends phone without a test call from Verizon I might add to make sure the phone was working, we went Kayaking that day in the river, hence insurance on the phone. She flipped her kayak and her phone ended up in the river.  I waded in and found it, turned it off and let it dry.  When we turned it back on there was nothing but a ruined phone.  I called to make a claim on the phone and it wasn't even registered on the devices.  I then went to the Verizon store where the Store Manager tried every aspect to help my girlfriend with her phone with no avail.  Verizon blamed the insurance company and the insurance company blamed Verizon.   Really... I have been a customer of Verizon since 2008 and this is the first time I have ever had an issue.  Now my girlfriend is out a $600 phone and I am about ready to leave Verizon since they can't seem to make this right no matter which way the situation is.   So FED UP!!!

    It's A1549 model. Yeah i knew this is US version before i buy this. What i'm confusing now do u think this iphone i bought is a brand new one and why there is a sim card already inside the simcard slot? Even its working smoothly using a network in UAE. Some of my friends bought there US version of iphone but they bought it without simcard inside the sim card slot.

    The other day our baby peed on my laptop. I don't know whether it was on purpose, he just tells me brrrruu. Now, these keys are not working: Backspace, Left Shift, Esc, Tab, T, Y, [ and ].
    I had this before, with just a little bit of water, exactly the same. Then they replaced the keyboard. Unfortunately I cannot send it back for repairment.
    What to do? I've heard of trying to clean it with a pressured air can, I'll try to find that one. Any ideas?
    Btw, I thought thinkpad keyboards were water proof?

    As the human urine does contain conductive and corroding salts (more than the sea water), I'd open my TP, take the KB module out and try to wash it with distiled water. Then let it dry and put it back.
    This should gently dissolve and remove the potential shortcircuits, w/o the aggressivity of pure alcohol - professionally used for quick repairs in such case. Also the smell will vanish ;-).
    Strong opinions are costly, particularly when the point is made with bodily fluids :-)

    Seems like there is some physical damage causing an intermittent issue of the iPhone being unable to power on.
    You could try a reset:
    - hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
    - the iphone will turn off(keep holding) then when the Apple logo appears release both buttons
    If the reset fails I would suggest next time it powers on to try and back it up to either iTunes/iCloud then you can try a restore to factory settings or just back up and book an appointment at an Apple Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

    I'm sorry, there is no way to change that. It is a change with the newer iOS 7. You can provide feedback to Apple, like a large group of others have that are disappointed in this at www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

  • How to export just a little piece of a comp?

    Can I export just a little piece of the comp rather than "Export active comp to new track" which delivers the whole comp?
    After I comp my take and then listen to it again, sometimes I just want to go back and change one little part. The workflow would be alot easier if I could just export a small part, either with the loop indicator or another way.

    Try hold the shift key while comping. This allows you to adjust the boundaries of one take, without filling in the area from another take. You can make holes, or create a comp with just one phrase. You'll probably end up with a couple of really narrow slices on a couple takes in the middle of a blank area - just grab and move them all the way to the edge with the regular swipe tool. Also when you now export, or move, this comp you may end up with a couple extra regions on the very front and back of the whole take area, but those are easy enough to delete.

    You will first have to install the OS that shipped with the Mac. After that, you can upgrade it to Mavericks.

  • Consistent packet loss just a few hops into Verizon's network

    I have had consistent packet loss just a few hops into Verizon's network for some time. I have tried the normal things like rebooting routers and releasing my ip address but none of that helps. Most routes do not have an issue, but there is one particular service in Verizon's network which I have issues with, and it happens to be the server that Verizon routes me through when I am gaming online.
    The server is : G0-3-3-6.RCMDVA-LCR-22.verizon-gni.net (130.81.191.80) and I average around 50% packet loss each night. It is just the second hop into my route:
    1) My Router Internal IP
    2) L100.RCMDVA-VFTTP-16.verizon-gni.net (98.117.88.1) with a ping of 9 and 0 packet loss
    3) G0-3-3-6.RCMDVA-LCR-22.verizon-gni.net (130.81.191.80)  with a ping of 15 and 50-80% packet loss.
    How can I get Verizon to stop routing me through this troublesome server? If I look at the route to goggle.com for example, I don't go through that server and there is no packet loss at all.

    There should be a law against a utility turning off a standard service. It is like the electric company all the sudden deciding they will only send DC. Now my appliances don't work.

    All you need to do is to change the outgoing server on your non verizon accounts to
    outgoing.verizon.net
    Check the authentication box and enter your verizon mail userid and password under setting and in the advanced tab make the port 587
    You've wasted more time in compiling the complaint than it would take you to fix the issue.

    It means you should take it to the Genius Bar. You will no doubt need to buy an out of warranty replacement.

  • Very very upset with Verizon service and tech support. Ready to cancell

    I have been on the phone and live chat for over 10 hours with several different tech people.  Each one says they have fixed the problem but to no avail.  I am really really upset about this and would like to talk to some who can FIX the problems.  I am ready to cancel Verizon all together.

    My email was hacked.  So I did live chat and they told me that I needed to change my password.  So I did.  When I went to sign on again it wouldn't let me.  So I did live chat again they tried for about an hour via access to my computer, could not figure it out.  Then I was told that Verizon is no longer going to associate with Yahoo that I need to just go thru Veizon.  This person did not know how to do that so I called and talked to a Rich {edited for privacy} he tried to fix this again via access to my computer to no avail.  He told me that he would have someone call me back the next night who could fix this.  No one called me the next night.  I called again I tried to get back with Rich but the person said I could not do that.  So I began again explaining my situation, this person said that I would need to update my router, but of course it was going to cost me an additional $10.00 a month.  So I ordered the new router.  I was then transferred to James {edited for privacy} he transfered everything from my Yahoo account and was going to set it up under Verizon.  He could not get the information transferred so he told me that someone would call me back the next night to help me.  No one called me back.  I received a phone message from Jack that he cancelled my Yahoo account but I couldn't understand what he was saying because he was cutting in and out.  Called again and told the person that I was having trouble again and that I been having the same problem for awhile and wanted to talk to a supervisor.  I was told that she would send me an "escalation email" and I would be able to get help right away.  When I tried to download this email it takes me to Photo Shop??!!!   Was then transferred to Dan.  He told me that my files, contacts from Yahoo were gone.  He tried via access to my computer and said there was no way to get my files back.  He told me that this should not have been done like this.  After about 3 hours on the phone with him he was able to get my files back but all my contacts were gone.  I now have Verizon email but is not working properly.  My phone is no longer connected to my computer all my notes are gone, etc.   I was told my router would give me faster internet speed 75/75.  My computer is slower now then it ever has been, just signes out in the middle of doing something.  I did live chat again to question my internet speed and was given a link to check my speed.  It came back as 47.48 dowload and 44.78 for uploading.  When I questioned why it was not 75/75 he said something must be wrong. 
    I have ask several times for a person to come out and fix my computer but am told it must be fixed on the phone by tech support.  I have tried several times and it is not working.  I have been a customer for over 15 years and I have never had such poor customer support.  I just want my computer back to the way it was before. 

  • After 10 years I am upset with Verizon

    So here is my store,
    In July my husband and I upgraded our phones to the ( At the Time New) Nokia Lumia 928. We were so excited to have something new until issues started to happen. Every couple of days my phone screen would freeze, because of how the lumia is laid out I was unable to restart the phone to unfreeze it. I would have to wait until the phone died in order for me to restart the phone. My husbands Lumia Had the issue of not wanted to download or update anything. After my screen froze for the 3 time, I decided it was time to call Verizon. Well of coarse we had to do a hard reset. Once this happen I was stuck on the "Loading" Screen for about 2 day ( that is 2 days with out a phone) until it died and I could restart the thing. A few days later The issue come back, Called Verizon wash rinse repeat. Finally they decided it was time to swap out the phone and try a new Lumia. So I am sending my Brand New phone back to get a " Certified Like New" Phone. All was fine for about a week before the issues arose again..... At this point I call Verizon ASAP let them know what was going on and Sadly they send me another phone. Now this cycle happens 4 time. My husband actually got fed up with his phone and went back to his old Iphone 4 until we could get this resolved with our phones.
    Once the 4th swap was getting ready to happen, I asked if we could get a different phone all together. Having to get manager permission they decided that they would send us iphone 4's because it was equivalent to our Lumias, Well I just Laughed in the ladies Face and told her she was out of her mind. So she said How about the IPhone 4s, and again I laughed. So after a bunch of supervisors I said the only thing they could do for us was to send us a Samsung S 3  because Value wise they were equal. So I said Forget it and just took it.
    Well in the mix of getting the new phone which had no back cover, batteries, or chargers, and sending our Lumias my husband brakes his screen. So we Pay $90.00 to the Insurance get a brand New Lumia to send back to Verizon. Now here is where my anger comes from....Well I just received our bill and its for over 900.00s ( normal bill runs 230.00) and my first thought is What??... so I look and see they charged us 649.99 because they didn't receive my husbands Lumia back, well the short store on that is they had the wrong ESN/MEI number no biggy. However if they charged us 649.99 for the Lumia, My first thought was there is no way the Samsung s3 with no battery, No charger, and headphones, and no Back cover is worth 649.99. After reviewing Verizons website, sure enough the Samsung S3 is 449.99 now thats a 200.00 difference. That means I could have gotten and Iphone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4, Moto X or Motarolla Max, and so on. So while im on the phone with the billing department taking care of this 649.99 charge I mention to them my feelings on this issues, Well the love Billing Guy transfers me to Tech Support in which that guy tells me there is nothing he can do and that I need to post my issue on this Forum......
    What I am most made about it the money that I have lost in all of this.
    Upgrading cost 150.00 x 2                                                             300.00
    Cost of a battery x 2                                                                        80.00
    Cost of a back plate x 2                                                                   10.99
    Cost of a charger x 2                                                                        20.00
    Plus the different in price on our phones x 2                                      400.00

    The worst this is , is now im out that money and there is nothing no one is willing to do about it. they told me to go upgrade my phone which again would cost me a lot of money....
    They only thing I would like to see is either 2 brand new phones that equal $649.99 ( each) or $411.00 but sadly I cant get the billing or anyone to work with me. After being a customer for so Long apparently Verizon doesn't care about their customers much anymore. I think once my husbands and I's contract is up, we are going to be leaving Verizon but thats for another year and a half now......

    I have been with Verizon since they acquired Altel and they have the worst customer service I've ever seen! My 13 yr old's phone has been acting up since January and now she has no phone at all. Do you think they care? Of course not! They know they have the best coverage so they figure we'll all just stick around...I don't know about everyone else that I am seeing saying they are fed up and tired of poor customer service. I say it's time we all show them we WILL leave. I'm sick of showing them loyalty and never getting any back from them! I am so sorry you've been done that way, someone pretty much tried to force me into that situation last night I'm glad someone convinced me to just hang up and look at other options. Good luck!
