Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  If you have IOS-7, read this.

I just got my Mac back from Apple repair and I can't burn a disc. What do I need to do to make that happen?

    Hello deneye2112,
Thank you for providing the details of the burning issue you are experiencing.  I found some resources that I think might help:
First, I recommend resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac (I wasn't sure if you had a removable battery or a built in battery, so I listed the steps for both):
Resetting the SMC on Mac portables with a battery you can remove
Note: Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.
    Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
    Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your ownNote: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
You can find the full article here:

If you are still having trouble with burning after that step, I recommend reviewing the section titled "Top troubleshooting tips" in the following article:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

  • Just got my mac back from apple, airport card MIA

2 weeks ago the hard disk drive was acting funny and after attempts at repairing and reformatting apple decided the hardware had failed. After a long 2 weeks without my iMac I finally get it back with a fresh format, when I boot it up I don't seem to have the option of connecting to the internet wirelessly via my airport card.
I have also noticed a few other things, such as when I hold left control and mousewheel up to zoom in on the screen the frames per second drops DRASTICALLY, it didn't do this before. and for some reason "photo booth" is just a question mark on my dock and when I click it nothing happens.
    Photographic evidence within:
    http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/2637/cimg0202bh8.jpg
Is it time to take my imac back to apple for another 2 weeks?

I went ahead and installed 10.5 as I had nothing else really going for me. And for the most part this seemed to clear ALL of my problems.
The only problem I am having now is that whenever I restart I must manually go into the internet options and select my wireless network from a list.

  • I just got my iPod back from Apple. Everytime I go to the App Store on my iPod, click "updates" then "purchased".. It will load, and then exit out and take me back to my home screen. Can you help?

    HELP!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    -  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • I just got my computer back from Apple - They fixed nothing

Long ago I made a post expressing concerns that none of the animations on my computer were as smooth as my girlfriend's Macbook with the same specs. I tried everything recommended to me, including typing some stuff into the console. Nothing fixed it.
In order to make sure I wasn't just crazy, I downloaded Xbench, a program recommended to me for benchmarking. I was told that my score should be around 100.
That being said, my score does not get above 70. Clearly something is wrong with the graphics processing on my computer because when running to through the graphic benchmarking portion of the test, my girlfriend's computer speeds through it, whereas mine goes fairly slow.
After being completely stumped by the problem, I took my computer to the Apple store nearby to get repaired. The Mac Genius didn't seem to believe that anything was wrong (he refused to acknowledge the benchmarking program) and said he'd have my logic board replaced anyway.
I just recieved my computer today and nothing has changed. I'm still getting low scores on Xbench and none of my animations are as smooth as they should be. What the heck is going on? Is it possible that nothing was actually replaced, or could the problem be stemming from something that isn't on the logic board? A RAM diagnostic didn't turn up anything...

A computer's performance is affected by software or else hardware issues. If the memory chip isn't 'seated' right, hard drive speed or read capacity, whatever. Could be anything. In regards to software, there can be installation issues - people say that a fresh install with all-at-once updating has less problems than an install where you upgrade or "add" to another install. Same goes for updating after you add software applications - it is just more complex and less efficient. But there are so MANY ways to tune a computer. What about energy saving settings (vs "performance")? Also the more ikons you have on your desktop the more RAM is used. It is a learning curve you can begin by opening Activity Monitor. You want to watch how much RAM is used, disk activity, startup activities running in the background (display saver on or off?) and so on. CPU activity (and temperature) is a big indicator.
If you are hoping to someone here to post "one thing" that points to your concern, I doubt that will happen. Sometimes hardware is manufactured 2nd rate (the Seagate Drive issue from months back) and you MIGHT have a poor quality part in your machine. Not often though. Diagnosis takes time and patience. If you are in a hurry take heart in the fact that Macs have a great resell value and get rid of it / buy fresh, upgrade to the Santa Rosa - better video. (Or offer money & a trade for your GFs - maybe speed isn't as important to her).
If it were me I would try a fresh (erase) install & download all the updates at once. This is recommended by posters here. It is often posted that a new software update 'slows' a machine from prior to the update. I don't have an answer for why, except that the times I downloaded all-in-one updates I had less slowdown problems. It is a pain, though. And it may not 'fix' things. That's the reality of performance trouble-shooting, though. It's real life & it ain't fair.
Another way to go is to upgrade the performance through a new hard drive (7200 RPM).
Another thing to try is Opera / Firefox. I find Safari inconsistent - sometimes fast, next day slow. Opera and Firefox can really fly in comparison.
You are right to be annoyed. The logic of the situation is that a mass-manufactured unit should be measurably consistent (and it obviously isn't). The sad part is that these things can take so much effort to determine, it may not be worth your while to find out 'why'.

  • I just got the first get and im trying to download the ios onto it and it will just stop and not load anymore how do i make it keep going?

i just got the first get and im trying to download the ios onto it and it will just stop and not load anymore how do i make it keep going?

You are only as young as you feel......
This is an example of how you can select the exact content that you want to sync to your device. You do not have to sync the entire iTunes library. You can pick and choose the music, apps, books and so on that you want to sync. This is using music as an example.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on only the albums or playlists that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
You can do this with apps, books, movies .... Whatever .... You have the freedom to sync whatever you want.

  • Just got my MacBook back from 2nd repair

I just got my MacBook back today. It just had its 2nd logic board replacement because of the random shutdown issue.
When I picked up my computer, they also replaced the Top Case Housing and the Keyboard. Why would the replace this? Does the keyboard and top housing have anything to do with the random shutdown?
Anyways, I will see if my random shutdown comes back. I surely hope not.

Oh ok. I noticed the feel of it is a bit different
    than before.
Another question. I have CoreDuoTemp opened, my
computer has been on for 30mins and it only shows
22-27C. Is this correct? Or is CoreDuoTemp
    malfunctioning?
At 30mins, my MacBook was at least at 45C always.
It's an Intel processor design fault. I got this info from the Hardware Monitor developer.
Q: I have a Mac with an Intel Core Solo or Core Duo processor.
Sometimes, the temperature readings seems to "hang" and are no longer
being refreshed. Is this a problem with the application?
A: No, this problem is caused by an internal design flaw of current
versions of Intel Core processors. The Digital Thermal Sensors may
stop working when the processor returns from a C3/C4 power saving
state. Intel plans to correct this hardware bug for future steppings
    of the CPU.
Intel refers to this hardware problem as Erratum AE18. For detailed
information, please see Intel document 30922204

When you received the iPod back from Apple did you have to set the iPod up?
If Apple exchanged your iPod, the one you received is like new, not yet setup
If they just returned your iPod, it was like it was when you sent it to Apple.
