Just what is that three-block bar thing?

I give up. Just what is that little orange bar that appears next to everyone's name? I've figured out that developers or moderators seem to have blue bars instead of orange ones, but the meaning of the three different shades eludes me.
(And more importantly, why is this piece of information not in the Help FAQ?)

Here's my understanding of their specific meaning...I remember asking about this when I first got active in the forums, and I was directed to another post (not one I could find from searching)...maybe this one will be easier to find...
The first bar is message ratings. Nothing for an average rating below 4.0, "Trusted" for an average between 4.0 and 4.5, and "Proven" for an average between 4.5 and 5.0.
The second bar is number of replies. Nothing for less than 50 or 100 or so, "Active" for anything between 50/100 and 2000, and "Enthusiastic" for more than 2000 replies. To my knowledge, there are only 5 members in the entire forum community who qualify as "Enthusiastic".
The third bar is number of logins. I think it's "Member" for less than 50 or so, "Regular" for between 50 and 250 logins, and "Veteran" for more than 250 logins.
If anybody can confirm/correct my guesses on those last two, feel free.

It is a plastic area in the metal case that allows the WiFi signal pass through the case to the antenna.
It is not the actual antenna.

If restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod dow not solve the problem you likely have a hardware problem. In that case either make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare. If defective, Apple will replace your iPod at no cost.

Thanks. The reason this has become an issue is that I recently bought a new Macbook Air that the iPad is not synced to. The one is was synced to was stolen. If I want to sync this iPad to the new Air, won't it be wiped before I'm able to copy these films or am I wrong about that?

It's not uncommon for it to not work the first time and sometimes, you have to try it a few times. Turn off your antivirus software and your firewall while you are trying to restore the iPad. Enable them again after you restore.
If that still won't work, post back with detailed information as to what exactly does happen as you go through the process.

HT1695 On the setup after a factory reset I get to choose my network. I have three full bars and my wifi is checked. It just stays on that screen and won't go any further

Turn off router for 30 seconds and on again; try connecting again when router is ready.

Copy ALL contents of SD card to a folder on edit hard drive. not just video clips, everything. Then in Premiere, import using Media Browser (tab at lower left of Premiere screen). This usually does the trick. There is metadata contained in the SD card files that is needed, not just the video clips alone.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I don't have the disk and i tried the shift key and it didn't do anything, i have tried like everything but it won't work and i was givin this computer with a charger and that is all nothing came with it and i don't think that it had the lion thing on it either i never got to that it just won't turn on and i have another mac that was a family members but it won't turn on either at all it won't load anything the screen stays black. so i don't really know at all what to do is there anything else? i don't want to take it anywhere because i have no money for that, and i need this computer for school. If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

What is your connection like (use speedtest.net)?
Check for interference using istumbler or netstumbler
Make sure your DNS is set correctly (settings - general - network - congifure DNS - automatic)
