Jwsdp_1.2 - build.properties not accessible

Hello,
since I've updated my jwsdp-version (to jwsdp_1.2), I cannot use ant to install my services, because the manager.username and manager.password in build.xml aren't accessible for ant, although a build.properties files exists in my home directory (OS: Win XP).
Therefore I do have to set the values for manager.username and manager.password explicitly in my build.xml
Can anyone give me some advice, what to do or is it a bug
Best regards, Macar

if you would like build.xml to access build.properties in your home dir, please ensure build.xmls reference to build.properties does point to the appropiate location.

  • EJB project IDE build dos not include properties files

    We have property files also which we want included as part of the build process
    for EJB projects but if we use the IDE build it does not include them. We have
    to therefore export the IDE build and customize it to include *.properties like
    this
    <zip basedir="${dest.path}" zipfile="${ejb.outputJar}" encoding="UTF8"> <!-- JARs
    filenames are encoded UTF8 --> <zipfileset dir="${project.local.directory}" includes="*.properties"
    /> </zip>
    which causes a problem for us because the exported build file is specific to a
    user's local PC and cannot be used in a team environment.
    How can we have the IDE build include all the files within an EJB project i.e.
    include properties files also.

    Hey Jamie,
    Currently there is no support to include other .properties files into
    the internal build. There's a build.properties that you get as part of
    an EJB project which you could place your values into and use that as
    your template for your team based development and check that into your
    source control.
    If you'd really like to get gross and hack Workshop a little bit you
    could modify the default EJB project template to use your .properties
    file for every EJB project you create. This would then splat a copy of
    your .properties file into the root of the EJB project.
    To do that you'd go to {your BEAHOME}\workshop\templates and crack open
    the ejb-project.zip template zip file and merge your settings into the
    existing build.properties file. This has the same
    effect as replacing the .properties file after you've created your
    project only it keeps you from having to perform that step each time.
    The downside of this is that each person on your team would then have to
    update that template zip file in their workshop installation. (I'd make
    sure to backup the original template file before performing this
    activity so you can always go back to the original template).
    Hope this helps,
    -Michael

  • Shared Variable Deployment not accessible in Build Specification

    Hi everyone,
    I have a large project developed in LV 8.6.1 from which I executed numerous applications. I converted the project in LV 11 sp1f1, everything works well in code, everything is saved.
    I wanted to build executable without cod change for LV 11 here is what I found:
    Build the executable with Build Specifications inherited from LV 8.6 for which I checked on Use Labview 8.x file layout in Advanced. My application programmatically deploys all internal shared variables and when I wanted to access the Shared Variable Deployment in project in Build Specification then labview locked and I have to kill LV. Other time I did not access the Shared Variable Deployment and I start building executable when it looks the build progressing similar as in LV8.6 and last step before popping the attached error all the saved files in the build location were deleted.
    I set up a build specification just for this LV 11. Again I wanted to access the Shared Variable Deployment and again labview is looping something from which I had to kill labview. I opened it again, I skipped the shared variable deployment line and I build the application. Because my application programmatically deploys shared variables I included in builder the lvlib where shared variables belong. The build files does not includes this time as output the file *.lvlib for which my inherited LV8.6 code programmatic deploys shared variables.
    My question is should I change the code (very large code) taking out the programmatic variables deployment and to relay on the build executable to do deploy them then what should I do with Shared Variable Deployment line in Build Specification which for my large application is not accessible or is any way to still use the shared variable as in LV8.6 but for which I need *.lvlib in build location.
    Another important issue: when I launched my application built as I showed in previous second case, first thing that I see is that my application is not able to save errors (I have a log file where I save different drivers or communication errors). Any idea why application even without shared variable deployed is not able to write a text file? I am administrator of my computer with all rights.
    Thank you,
    Virginia

    No, I am not able to close Labview because of the windows error with only one button to close application. The application is correct executed. Next time when I start this project it is asking me if I want o recover even if I accept to recover it looks what I had last time it does not save.
    For my application also I am building a VI without diagram built as source distribution for which I set in my builder this top vi and I excluded everything from the project because my application copies instances at the run time of this vi as many times as hardware modules I have in the system and also I have this vi included in my application (for the content of this vi). My vi contains interfaces for hardware configuration as well as drivers functions call for each hardware module I have to control in my application. Everything is good building this vi, but in less then one minute after the build is executed and build interface closes again I have the windows error which force me to close project. Next time when I open project I did not see the option to recover the project.
    In the mean time I received second message and I wonder if you refer to files names or to folder names or all together. I checked and the maximum size is 122 characters in the vi paths.
    Thank you,
    Virginia

    I can see where the previous 3 properties are being used in the swc output file name, but now there is a build.report property that is not being set.  How do I know which properties need to be set, and what to set them to?

    I was using the 4.5.1 flex SDK but there seemed to be other issues so I just used the link directly from the Ant Task Setup page (instead of using the newest SDK).  Upon following your instructions to ant build from the root directory, everything seemed to work correctly with a few exceptions.  Below is the last part of the output from the build.

    So everything seems to be building correctly now, but not executing correctly.  Also, there are still a number of properties that are not being set:
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

    Skipped because property 'build.report' not set.
    instrument-compile:

    package-instrument:
    Skipped because property 'build.instrument' not set.
    pmdReport:
    Skipped because property 'build.pmd' not set.
    Where should these values be set and what are appropriate values?  What could be causing the socket timeout and what exactly is it waiting for or attempting to accomplish with the sockets?
    The end goal is to be able to use the flex SDK, flexunit and ANT on a linux server to automate my build/test process.  I am currently just trying to get ANT to work with the flex SDK and flexunit on a windows XP box so I can see what the output should be and how the whole system works before trying to inject it into my CI system.

  • Error in build.properties, how to set j2ee.home?

    Hi,
    I'm newbie for J2EE platform. I downloaded J2EE tutorial from sun site. I try to compile a app which ConvertApp using the asant build comannd.
    I get this error.

    On Windows, you must escape any backslashes in the j2ee.home property with anoth

  • Flex Builder will not start

    I really need some help on this. Flex builder will not start.
    When I try to run it, I get the error: An error has occured. See
    the log file: <has a location to file>.
    When I open the file, I get an error log. I will post it to
    the end of this message.
    So far, I have unisntalled/reinstalled Flex several times. I
    have uninstalled Java, and reinstalled Java. I have uninstalled
    Flex, removed ALL directories I could find (under /program files/
    as well as /documents), run cclean to clear out registry entries,
    as well as going through the entries one at a time. I then
    rebooted, and reinstalled. I have also downloaded the original
    install file 3 times now.
    One oddity of my install, is that I am running on a
    re-directed desktop, so my /documents/flex builder 3/ directory is
    out on the network, but acts like it is locally mapped. I HAVE
    logged on my system's local account, which doesn't have a
    redirected desktop. This error occurs on both accounts.
    I am the administrator of this box, and all permissinos are
    run as an administrator. I am running Vista Business, and have run
    this both with user access control on and off. I have also tried
    running it in compatibility mode for Win XP SP2. While installing
    it seems to fail on the Cold Fusion plugin, but it continues to
    install, and tells me it installed fine. I am honestly at my wit's
    end on this one.

    Ok, this has FINALLY been fixed. There seems to be an issue
    with having your documents stored remotely. My documents folder,
    instead of being on my C: drive, has been redirected to the server,
    so the location is: \\server\share\username\documents\etc
    To fix this, I uninstalled Flex Builder 3, then deleted that
    directory i makes under documents. I then logged off my account,
    and logged on as the local administrator. I installed as the local
    administrator which does not have a redirected desktop nor
    redirected documents folder. It installed fine. I logged off the
    local admin account, and logged in as my account, and was able to
    fire up Flex Builder 3. Though, it STILL created it's own "copy" of
    Documents on the network drive. So, the directory structure is
    \\server\share\userID\Documents, the problem, is that there are TWO
    "Documents" directories there. If you go to properties, windows
    still recognized the old one, as "My Documents" even though it is
    redirected as the file, Documents. The new folder, is also called
    Documents.
    Odd behavior. Just hope this helps someone else, in the
    future.

  • App Builder produces "Not Executable" error with Strictly Typed VI Refs

    There is a very frustrating problem with the app builder in LV 8.0.1.  Certain VIs compile and run fine in labview, but the app builder
    refuses to make them into applications.
    The error message is very long and ends with something like "The VI is not
    executable".  Standard advice for this problem is to force LV to recompile
    everything you're building by either mass compiling or ctrl-shift clicking the
    run arrow, but this hasn't worked for me in two separate cases (completely
    different projects).
    It seems that this problem is caused by wiring a strictly typed VI reference to
    an invoke node with the FP.open method selected.  In both cases I resolved
    the issue by changing the Static VI Reference to be weakly typed (right-click
    the static vi reference and make sure "Strictly Typed VI Reference"
    is unchecked). After that, the project build successfully.
    This is very hard for a user to track down for several reasons:
     - The error message in the application builder does not give any
    indication as to what the real problem is
     - The app builder reports that the top-level VI is broken, even when the
    strictly typed reference and invoke node may occur in a sub VI
     - Nothing (that I can
    find at least) in the documentation suggests that strictly typed references
    won't work with the Open.FP method.
    There is a page that says "some of the properties and methods do
    not work when you configure this function to output a strictly typed VI
    reference," but no indication is given of which methods fail
    Note that in one case I was also able to make the project
    build by deleting an instance of "IMAQ Create.vi" from the top-level
    VI.  I
    have no explanation for this.
    Hopefully this post will save some other users the trouble
    of tracking this down and maybe even get NI to correct the issue for future
    versions.
    Adam Brewster

    Hello Adam,
    Thank you for sharing your experience and insight.  Your post was well thought-out and offered a
    good description of the problem as well as some possible workarounds.  I believe that the issue has been filed and
    is under investigation (3TU8T8V9).  Feel
    free to post back after the next LabVIEW release and inquire as to its status.
    Thanks again,

  • Ant build script not working...

    Hi!
    I'm having problems using Ant to build a WLI-application in a HP-UX
    production environment. I exported the Ant buildscripts in Weblogic
    Integration (in NT) and made minor adjustments which do not change
    classpaths or anything for the taskdefs used. All of the builds I do for
    other parts of the app work just fine, but when compiling the processes
    (.jpd-files) I get the following error for each process:
    [webappbuild] DESCRIPTION: An I/O Exception occurred while attempting to
    write the deployment descriptors for Enterprise Java Beans. Error:

    the "ejb-jar.template' file resides in the knex.jar file which is
    included in the classpath used for the build. Can anyone help me out
    here on this one? One other thing to mention is that when I build the
    application using Workshop in our development environment, there are no
    problems, even if we have switched from using the "IDE build" to using
    the Ant build even there....

  • Device not accessible

    I burned two DVDs, then went to copy a disk image and burn in via Disk Untilities and it didn't work (I don't remember the error message; when I try to burn from DU now it freezes up). Now, when I try to burn in Studio Pro it does all the formatting, and I can hear the drive crank up like normal, but it stops the burn with the error message: "This device is not accessible, probably because it was removed".
    This computer was new two and a half years ago, I'll be very disappointed in Apple if the drive is already shot. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Can you build the DVD still? In other words are you getting the message during the build? As to the device not being accessible, could be the media is not rated for your drive (which causes some issues when trying to burn. In other words your burner may not handle 8x media. My G5 Tower has a superdrive that cannot burn most new media ) Also if you used the drive alot it can get dirty and/or start going bad.

  • Why are protected fields not-accessible from sub-classed inner class?

    I ran across a situation at work where we have to sub-class an inner class from a third-party package. So, it looks something like this...
    package SomePackage;
    public class Outer {
       protected int x;
       public class Inner {
    package OtherPackage;
    public class NewOuter extends Outer {
       public class NewInner extends Outer.Inner {
    }Now the NewInner class needs to access protected variables in the Outer class, just like the Inner class does. But because NewOut/NewInner are in a different package I get the following error message.
    Variable x in class SomePackage.Outer not accessible from inner class NewOuter. NewInner.You can still access those protected variables from the NewOuter class though. So, I can write accessor methods in NewOuter for NewInner to use, but I am wondering why this is. I know that if NewOuter/NewInner are in the same package as Outer/Inner then everything works fine, but does not when they are in different packages.
    I have to use JDK1.1.8 for the project so I don't know if there would be a difference in JDK1.2+, but I would think that nothing has changed. Anyway, if you know why Java disallows access as I have detailed please let me know.

    Although I don't have the 1.1.8 JDK installed on my system, I was able to compile the following code with the 1.3.1_01 JDK and run it within a Java 1.1.4 environment (the JVM in the MSIE 5.5 browser). As long as you don't access any of the APIs that were introduced with 1.2+ or later, the classes generated by the JDK 1.2+ javac are compatible with the 1.1.4+ JVM.

  • An Error Occurs When I Go To "Build Properties-- Icon" -- Custom Icon Build Fails

    LV 2011
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
    1. Create a new Build Specification using the Application Builder.
    2. Click on the "Icon" tab.
    The following error occurs:
    Three possible outcomes from here:
    1.  Usually LV2011 hangs when changing this option.  (i.e. "time to Force-Quit LabView" and recover the project)  It hangs after I uncheck the "Use default LabView icon" box, and then select my own custom icon from the file browser that appears.
    If it doesn't hang:
    2.  I build using the default LabView icon.  That build succeeds.
    3.  I build using my own icon (which has worked before in LabView app builds).  That build fails, near the end, with the following error:
    Please tell me how I can help get this working.

    Good questions.
    1. This happens with all projects.  As I mentioned, I get an error box as soon as I select the "Icon" tab in the Build Properties dialog.  After that, it either hangs or fails to build.  This happens with any new or existing project.
    2. I have not built an application with a custom icon with LabView 2011.  Remember I am Mac OSX so I install Application Builder separately from a .dmg file.
    3. I was able to successfully build an application with a custom icon in LabView 2010.
    So, it would seem to me that we should rule out that it's a global bug with LV2011 on Mac OSX (10.6.8).  If you install and make a new project, and attempt to add a custom icon, I would bet you can reproduce this exactly.  The error dialog pops regardless, and everytime.

  • Spy menu only showing some items and properties not available

    I am having some issues with the spy menu. In order to try and fix my issues I built the menu from scratch again on one of my pages. Everything works now on that page and when I upload it to the server, it is all there.
    However, when I then copy and paste the menu to all the other pages and upload the the server, the submenu doen't show anymore. When I go and troubleshoot it and highlight the menu in its entirety and click properties, no properties will show. On the working page, this ation delievers me a properties bar where I can + or - menu items. Why is this? As this must be why the submenu is not showing either?
    The page where everything works is this (See sub menu under coaching clinics) http://www.golifecoaching.com.au/go-beyond-registration-test but on every other page on this website, this submenu disappears.
    Can anyone help? I am tearing my hair out and don't fancy having to build the menu from scratch for every page. There has to be a better way.
    I use CS4 and this is my menu;
       <div id="navigation">
        <!--MENU-->
        <ul id="MenuBar2" class="MenuBarHorizontal">
          <li><a href="index.html">Home</a>        </li>
          <li><a href="what-is-coaching.html">What is Coaching</a></li>

          <li><a href="#" class="MenuBarItemSubmenu">Coaching Clinics</a>

              <li><a href="coachingclinic.html">The Coaching Clinic</a></li>
            </ul>

        </ul>
            <!--END MENU-->
    Jen

    That is brilliant, that is exactly it! Thank you sooooo much for your suggestion. I am so relieved.
    Yes a template would be best, but I am not sure how to do that, so I am left with doubling my work evertime I make a change on this site.
    Thanks Jen

    Subject: Spy menu only showing some items and properties not available
    Disclaimer: I am new to coding in general and this is my first attempt to help someone.
    I think the properties bar with the + - has to do with the javascript coding that is generated when you create a new tag, and it is located near the bottom of the page just before the closing body tag.
    looks something like this:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var MenuBar2 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar2", );
    </script>
    so dont forget to copy that over too.  Also, check the CSS that is associated within each page and make sure they are all in the same style.
    P.S. Have you considered using a template for the menu bar so you dont have to copy it over each time?
