Kanban Replenishment

Hi
I am creating the control cycle( Classic KANBAN ) with replenishment strategy External Source , I am not allowed to do.
I am checking the drop menu and error message is coming no suitable replenishment strategy found.
Please maintain the replenishment strategies in Customizing for Kanban
It is surprising because Replenishment stratigies are maintained for the plant when I check the Customizing.
Any help is appreciated.

Ankur

Hi,
It may be very very late to answer you, but it may be useful to other users.
If you selected the external source strategy in the control cycle, you need to inform in the material master, in the screen MRP 4, in the field 'SLoc MRP indicator' the value '1 - Storage location stock excluded from MRP'. Make sure to access the material informing the center and Storage location, otherwise this field will not be visible.
You do this because the kanban will act as the 'new' MRP for this material.

Alejandra.

  • Kanban Replenishment Strategy with Reporting Points

I am trying to implement a SAP kanban system with repetitive manufacturing using reporting points.  My problem is that when I change the status from empty to full I get error RM086 - GR with backflush not for reporting point logic with automatic GR option.  I get this error regardless of control key (auto GR or not auto GR) setting on the routing.  I reading SAP help on the subject; I see there is a page discussing replenishment strategy with reporting points which would infer that there should be a strategy with a similar name in configuration for replinishment strategies for in-house prodution.  We are on ECC 6.0 and this option is not available in our system.    What am I missing???

    Hi,
As you are using In House production Replenishment Strategy , You must define Replenishment strategy for reporting points in Configuration as below:
SPRO->Production>KANBAN>Replenishment Strategies>Define In-house Production Strategies>Working With Reporting Points Replenishment strategy you need to define.
Then assigned this defined strategy in KANBAN Control Cycle in PKMC-->Replenishment Strategy->
Choose In-house Production Radio Button and in front of that select the above defined replenishment strategy to work with reporting points.
    Hope this helps.

  • Kanban replenishment with WM

I am using Kanban replenishment with strategy stock transfer from a WM managed storage location(strategy 0006).If I put the Kanban status to empty,I am able to generate Transfer requirement.I converted the TR to TO and confirmed the TO.I am able to move the stock from say storage type R01 to 150, but the stock transfer was not happening from the WM storage location to Kanban storage location.I had maintained supply area and control cycle. Also in WM -PP interface ,for Kanban WM movement type 350 was assigned to ware house and storage type. Also maintained storage location control in WM ,for the ware house and storage type(150) and kanban storage location IM movement type 311 is assigned.Combine post.changes is unchecked. What are the other settings to be made to have automatic transfer with mvt type 311 as soon as TO is confirmed?
    Thanks
    jay

Also  you can try the following
1>Within this customizing, there is the option to notify an user id that the goods movement  has failed. If you have set up the mail control then you can check at the mailbox if there is any mail explaining why the goods movement has failed
2>check transaction SMQ1 under queue name WMIM* to see if there are any blocked queues. If there are any failed processes, these can be cleared from the blocked queue in transaction SMQ1. (this is because many subsequent processes in WM like auto TO creation is controlled by qrfc and if the rfc queue is blocked the subsequent process will not occur)

  • Kanban: in-house production. relation kanban - replenishment order

    Dear Experts,
We are investigating the posibilities of using kanban for in-house production. We work with production orders. I have set the test system so it works with classic Kanban and a replenishment strategy that will create PP production ordres.
The system works OK. When the KANBAn is set to EMPTY (in the kanban board for instance) , a replenishment element is generated. The relation is 1 KANBAN - 1 Production order.
Is it possible to "assign" two KANBANS to a single replenishment element (productio order in my case)? In some cases two or more kanbans will be emptied at the same time (in the KANBAN board for instance), and this would reduce the "noise" in the system.
Somehow in the documentation "PP-KANBAN" manual, inside "KANBAN control. in-house production" some other option to reduce the amount of production orders is mentioned, but not very clearly explained how to do this.
    Thanks for your answers,
    Arturo

    Hello,
Your question is not clear to give correct feedback. Do you want to wprk with multiple KANBANS with production orders?
I am not understanding about the sentence "reduce the amount of production orders"
If you want to work work minimum production orders then you can automate the KANBAN replinishment through MRP.

  • Kanban replenishment WM to IM

    Hi all,
I am working on the scenario to replenish the production floor (IM location) when the inventory goes below certain level.I have configured the kanban stock transfer option 0006, Created a control cycle with 2 containers. I tried to use the trigger quantity in the control cycle but it didnt work. So i used PK13n to manually set the empty indicator. This triggered the replenishment from WM to IM. But I want to automate this by using the trigger quantity. Can some one please provide some insight on how the trigger quantity should be used in this situation.
Also I tried to consume the inventory from the production floor location by charging it to a cost center. But the Kanban container status is still set to FULL status even with no inventory in the location. When does the quantity in the kanban container change?
    Appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hi
It is impossible to consider all of the stock (e.g. the sum of quantities for several kanbans in stock.). The triggering quantity is for the quantity of a kanban. e.g. there are 2 kanbans A and B in a control cycle. The trigger quantity 2 and value 3 is maintained for th field 'Trigger replen.' in the control cyle. Then if the kanban quantity of kanban A is resuded to 2 or smaller than 2 the kanban A is triggered the replenishment. Thi is the logic how the trigger quantity works.

  • Kanban issue - Setting for new Kanban functionality in ECC 6.0

Hi, I am facing a problem while recieving stock from a production order. The system does not create a transfer requirement or a TO.
Let me give you a brief background.
This is a new functionality introduced in ECC 6.0 for working with kanban in WM.
Supply area is created for WM location.
Control cycle is created for material, supply area. Warehouse, storage type and Bin is maintained in control cycle record. When the GR is done for production order material is recieved in this bin.
    1) Now when the Kanban is set empty a production order is automatically created.
    2) Once the production order is confirmed the material automatically shows up in the bin.
A material document is created which shows IM movement type 101 and WM movement type 103. Also in material document Immediate auto TO checkmark is blank.
    3) PROBLEM - System does not create a TR or a TO. the material automatically shows up in the Bin. How can we enable an auto TR and TO creation.
Following are the settings which I have already checked:
    1) In IMG, WM movement type 103 has auto TO indicator set.
    2) IM-WM interface for 102 movement type and 103 movement type is maintained.
The main problem is: Although the material document displays WM movement type 103 and the stock lies in WM bin, System never created a Transfer requirement or a Transfer order.
I would really appreciate if anyone can help me in this.
    Thanks

  • Kanban storage location

    hi all,
    i have the scenario
for one R raw-material i have maintained the stock for the st.location in 0001. and in the production st location pl01
i included the 0001 str.location in the MRP. and exclude the prod. st.location pl01from mrp .i use this st.location for kanban replenishment.
i have to produce the finish product X which have R raw material as one of the component.
if i run the mrp for the production it will create the purchase requ (depnt reqmt ) for the raw material R from mrp list.
while in the production for the product, while production ,it create the reqmt for the same raw material inturn produce the purchase order in the kanban
so it will totally create the double the reqmt of the raw material R  .
    how to solve this issue

    Hi,
    This will happen obviously.
Here you need to do is you need to decide whether you want plan Raw material with MRP or Kanban.
If you want MRP also for the same then you include both storage location in MRP else you exclude both the storage location and plan with only Kanban Purchase Orders only.
Try any one of the above options which suits your need.
Hope this helps resolve your problem.
Feel free to revert if any doubt.
    Award points if useful.

  • Account Number for a Kanban requisition

Have an item with an expense account # 1234 at the org item. A requisition gets created from a Kanban replenishment. The requisition pulls in the expense account number from the subinventory. THoughts to as why that happens?

The expense a/c is defaulted in the following order
    1) Subinventory a/c
    2) Item expense a/c
    3) Org parameter expense a/c
Since Kanban requisitions are tied to a subinventory, the a/c number comes from the subinventory.
    Hope this helps,

  • Pls tell me KANBAN  SPRO settings

    Dear friends,
I devoloped a ZPSFC_KANBAN and attatched to WEK1 output type in NACE for std print program SAPM07DR.
but when i executed PK17 tcode it is picking standard form i.e PSFC_KANBAN.
    very urgent pls tell me
    what should i do?
    is any SPRO settings required.

    SATYAM(PUNE) - 9822814468

    Hi Venu,
If my guess is right KANBAN printing from PK17 doesnt use output type defined in NACE. It uses Replenishment Strategies in SPRO settings. Go to SPRO>Production>KANBAN>Replenishment Strategies.

  • Implementing KANBAN-WM

    Hi Gurus,
we are implementing KANBAN with WM for VERP materials in the pharmacology factory. We actived the replenishment strategy 0006 (for WM) and created a supply area, but SAP didn´t let us use the PK01 to create a new control cycle. System obligated us to inform the storing position for that material/plant/supply area.
Nevertheless, we also could´n use the PLK1 because in that transaction we could´n find where fulfill the replenishment strategy. Our solution was to create a new storage location (without WM) and then create all the KANBAN data for this new stor. loc. and then we trigger the NT/OT for the stor. loc. with WM.
    My questions are:
    1. There any other way to active Event-driven KANBAN-WM using the storage location with WM?
    2. What is this storing position field in the PK01 and how can I fill it correctly?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Felipe Tavares

    Dear Felipe,
    Answers to your question:
.1. There any other way to active Event-driven KANBAN-WM using the storage location with WM?
    > It is easily possible to have a event driven KANBAN u2013WM using the storage location with WM.
    The perquisites are
    1.     Storage location should be WM managed.
    2.     Define the supply are u2013 transaction PK05- new entries-enter plant-supply area( enter as per your business requirement)-storage location- responsible to MRP controller u2013 automatic unloading point / unloading point.- Maintained the address for supply area.
    3.     Define the strategy in a given path as per your business requirement u2013 you have to choose proper movement type.
    4.     SPRO-production-KANBAN-Replenishment strategy-define in-house production strategy.
    5.     SPRO-production-KANBAN-Replenishment strategy-define external procurement strategy.
    6.     SPRO-production-KANBAN-Replenishment strategy-define stock transfer strategy.
    7.     PK01-create control cycle u2013use the production supply area/plant/storage location/ assign any one of the above strategy as per your requirement.
    2. What is this storing position field in the PK01 and how can I fill it correctly?
    > Storage position field is area where you are going to issue a material u2013 like in automobile industry u2013 engine assembly area/ chassis assembly/ door assembly etc.
Hope it will help to configure KANBAN process, if you have any further doubts pl write back , we are having KANBAN process for internal WH movements.
    Thanks

  • Kanban for eWM materials

    Greeting,
We are trying to enable Kanban for a location that is managed by eWM system. our production system is 4.7 R/3 while our eWM platform is SCM 7.1. So when we try to use the standard kanban transaction to create control cycle we received the message <Kanban replenishment for wm storage location is not possible>. So since we don't interface our production system with eWM and the only thing that we need to do in eWM system is to PGI a material we are thinking to do core mode change.
More explannation: since the only check in PK01,PK02, PK03 is only one set of code where it check if the location is exist in T320 table then we are thinking to comment this part of the code and then we will able to proceed with creating CC for warehouse managed materials without any other issue.
So the question, did anybody has same issue, or tried to do same solution that I suggested here?
if yes, what was the impact of this on the system.. any thing that we should concern about and test it after we apply this change?
if no body used this solution, can you think of any risk we might encounter because of this change?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thanks for reply... Can you breif me the procedure to achieve it..In material master, where i need to mention it....

  • Delivery and replenishment delivery

    hello all,
I would like to know the difference between delivery and replenishment delivery. pl. let me know in which scenario replenishment delivery is used and how it is created.
    Thanks,
    Maxx

    Hi,
    Longman online dictionary:
to put new supplies into something, or to fill something again
    Dictionary.com:
to make full or complete again, as by supplying what is lacking
    Cambridge online dictionary:
    to fill something up again
Well, I think in terms of SAP it is used in the same meaning: if you use a material somewhere continually (consume it continually) you need continually supply that material to be able to continue your consumption.
In SAP you use this expression in connection with
    - storage location MRP scenario
    - fixed bin replenishment
    - KANBAN replenishment
    - generally in connection with material staging
    - etc.
Please consider that characteristics of this processes: you "continually" produce / consume (e.g. raw) materials and that's why you need "replenishment".
In connection with certain MTO scenario where certain raw materials are very specific and are used only once maybe there's no point in speaking "replenishment".
The procurement of these goods seems to be a very simple process (very simple purchasing activity).
So, I think delivery is delivery and there's no separate "replenishment delivery" type / document, a delivery becomes "replenishment delivery" because it is used for "replenishment".
(E.g. delivery created with reference to STO can be called replenishment delivery if you provide the raw materials from one plant to another, or from one SLoc to another SLoc).
    Just my ideas..

    Csaba

  • Transfer Requirement not getting created

    Hi All,
    My query as below;
Production order is created using KANBAN (Control Cycle/Supply Area is defined) using classic KANBAN.
WM is in place and all the setting related to TR/TO creation for WM movement type 103 is in place.
When i am trying to receive this Production after completion it is not creating the TR/TO, while as material document is getting generated and shows the stock directly in interim storage type 901 without creating TR and TO.
Further i checked there is indicator in Production order i.e "Kanban indicator" that gets checked automatically when Production order is created using KANBAN Processs and if i remove that indicator forcefully, TR and TO is getting created normally.
Please provide some inputs where can be the problem and how TR and TO can be created normally eventhough KANBAN indicator is checked in Production order and where i can found the setting related to "KANBAN INDICATOR".
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Maddy
Thanks very much for your response.
    1. When you use KANBAN, you define separate KANBAN storage location, which is different from WM-managed replenishment storage locations, and separate KANBAN interim storage area with storage bin.
Yes different storage location is defined which is not WM-managed in supply area.
As you said Control Cycle is defined, see if the interface is properly defined for both of these Sloc.
Where i can check whether interface is properly defined or not.
    2. See if you have defined the KANBAN replenishment strategy with Control type Transfer Requirements from a Storage Location which is being controlled by WM in the Customizing for Production under KANBAN > Replenishment Strategies > Define Stock Transfer Strategies
    Actually for a material two strategies are defined like;
    1) In-house Production strategies-0003-
supply area is defined with storage location which is IM managed.
And when this order is completed and i am trying to receive this in WM SLOC (usally whatever SLOC we have defined in supply area it proposes that SLOC at the time of receipt but i am changing this manually to WM managed SLOC) using transaction MIGO, it is directly taking the stock to 901 interim storage type and in total the stock increases but the problem is when TR is not getting created i am not able to take this to the storage bin as per strategies defined.
    2) Stock Transfer Strategies-This is working fine and in that TR/TO is working fine.
    3. For TO to get created automatically by the system from the transfer requirement, see if an indicator Automatic TO creation in the replenishment strategy is set or not. Yes this is set for stock transfer strategies but i didn't find option to check the TO creation automatically for in-house production strategy
    4. Also, check that you have set up a suitable replenishment movement type for KANBAN in the Customizing for Warehouse Management under Activities > Transfers > Define Movement Types (i.e.standard is 350 for KANBAN replenishment)-Yes this is also defined correctly.
Appreciate your more inputs on this.

  • MF60 help

Using MF60 we can do staging of components in 4 ways
    direct stock transfer
    stock transfer reservation
creating KANBAN replenishment elements (event-driven KANBAN)
creating WM transfer requirements or transfer orders
    I have 2 questions
    1)  SAP help says
"For a direct stock transfer, the pull list posts the stock transfer immediately. A stock transfer reservation, therefore, provides you with an opportunity to check the actual stock situation more accurately."
I did not understand how does using stock transfer reservation gives anyone a opportunity to check the actual situation more accurately than direct stock transfer. Can anyone help me out with a simple business process/figurative example?

    925,
Warehouse handlers don't usually create pick lists, that is not their responsibility.  Warehouse handlers pick and/or pack parts.
If you are using WM, warehouse handlers generally work against WM Transfer Requirements and Transfer Orders.  A warehouse supervisor may be responsible for printing the list of TOs to be picked/packed, or a lists may be automatically printed periodically. Or, if the warehouse is Mobile enabled, the list of 'next' TOs to be picked may be displayed on the RF guns.  It all depends upon the business requirements and warehouse policies.  When Mobile is enabled, most TO transactions required by a handler can be executed on the RF gun.
