KDM ignoring locales

Hello.
I have problem with locales after switching from manual loggin and starting X to KDM. It simply ignores exported locales from /etc/profile
and sets all to POSIX. In other words I have in /etc/profile:
export LANG="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_CTYPE="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_NUMERIC="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_TIME="en_GB.utf8"
export LC_COLLATE="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_MONETARY="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_MESSAGES="en_GB.utf8"
export LC_PAPER="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_NAME="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_ADDRESS="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_TELEPHONE="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_MEASUREMENT="pl_PL.utf8"
export LC_IDENTIFICATION="pl_PL.utf8"
unset LC_ALL
and I end up with:
[zergu]> locale
LANG=
LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
LC_TIME="POSIX"
LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
LC_PAPER="POSIX"
LC_NAME="POSIX"
LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
LC_ALL=
I know I can add this exports in some-kde/kdm-file, but it changes every KDE update so it is not a good solution. Any ideas?

  • System ignores locale/language setting [solved?]

    Hi
    I updated my system a few days ago and since then all gtk2/3 applications ignores language settings. I have set correct locale in /etc/locale.conf, /etc/locale.gen (I haven't changed it since installation), locale command also returns correct values. Even if I force locale from command line (by changing LANG or LC_ALL), apps are still in english.
    When the problem appears I had Cinnamon desktop, but i tried also Gnome and Kde - same effect (in Kde problem affects gtk apps), I also tried to change login manager (lxdm, lightdm, gdm, kdm), also without positive result. Clearing user config also doesn't help. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    UPDATE: It seems whole system ignores locale (in kde I just can manually select custom locale and then it works in kde/qt apps), including console apps (I just didn't notice that before). Strange thing is that Thunderbird has also correct language settings although it is not kde/qt app (in contrast to e.g firefox, which even ignores general.useragent.locale variable).

  • System ignore locale.conf

    hi to everybody,
    I have a very annoying problem:
    setting up LANG via /etc/locale.conf (because I want system-wide configuration) is ignored
    while setting up via ~/.bashrc works ...
    this is what I get, without
    export LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
    in the ~/.bashrc, but with
    LANG="en_GB.UTF-8"
    in my /etc/locale.conf
    [mattia@arch-dekstop ~]$ locale -a
    C
    POSIX
    en_GB.utf8
    [mattia@arch-dekstop ~]$ locale
    LANG=
    LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
    LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
    LC_TIME="POSIX"
    LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
    LC_MONETARY="POSIX"

    LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
    LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
    LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
    LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
    LC_ALL=
    instead with it in my ~/.bashrc, I get:
    [mattia@arch-dekstop ~]$ locale -a
    C
    en_GB.utf8
    POSIX
    [mattia@arch-dekstop ~]$ locale
    LANG=en_GB.UTF-8

  • Encfs ignoring locale settings?

    During the process of creating the root directory and the related mount point  through encfs in a non-English environment, it seems the program is ignoring the locale when creating these.
    That is, when the program detects that neither the former nor the latter do exist it asks the user to create them. But despite featuring the related options (y,n) in the locale set (s,n) as expected the only working options are still (y,n).
    In the end the program aborts when the locale set is used.
    Any non-English user has encountered this problem? It would help in case a bug report is needed to be filled. Thanks in advance.

  • Spamassassin Ignores Local Host Aliases?

    wacondatrader.com is the primary domain for my server. I also have local host aliases for beloit-kansas.com, kvsvradio.com and plainstrader.com. My ISP has pointed his DNS records to my server and my user account "joe" receives email to all of these domains, as do all of my user accounts setup to use mail services.
    I am running MacOS X 10.4.4 Server (just upgraded from 10.3.9).
    I have Spamassassin and ClamAV running. Junk mail is being scored and filtered, but for wacondatrader.com ONLY. For email sent to any of the other domains, I am not getting any X-SPAM headers in the email to show that Spamassassin has been there. However, I am getting X-VIRUS headers on email to all of the domains. What do I have to do to get my Server's Spamassassin to process email for all of the domains, and not just the primary one?

    If above fix works, none Did you try?
    If not, the output of postconf -n would be a start.
    Plus the settings you chose for content-filtering
    (amavisd.conf is to big to post)
    Also, did you have spamassassin on your Panther
    install already or only since you updated to Tiger?
    I tried your suggestion, but no success. Here is what I wrote on the MacOS X Server mailing list:
    I have wacondatrader.com setup as my primary mail server in the general Mail Services settings pane. I also have several other domains that resolve to my server that I have setup in the Virtual Host Aliases in the Advanced Settings/Hosting panes. I recently upgraded from Server 10.3.9 to Server 10.4.4 and I did NOT have an existing Spamassassin/ClamAV installation. What is there is what the 10.4 installer placed there.
    Is it the default install behavior for only the default domain to be tagged with the X-SPAM tags? I have in the amavisd log, compared an email to the default domain and one to a virtual hosted alias domain, and the log shows that amavis is scanning both for viruses (the X-Virus tags show up in all emails), and it even shows that all emails are being scanned for spam. The ONLY difference is that the log entry that says "SPAM-TAG . . ." is missing from the virtual host alias domains. The virtual host aliases domains even show that a hit count is being generated, so it looks like everything is being processed except the part that adds the spam tag headers to the email. The default domain emails are the only one that the spam tag headers are added to.
    Do I need to assume that I need to modify the amavisd.conf file some how, or should Spamassassin be expected to scan the default domain and virtual host aliases in a default Tiger server install?
    I tried the following advice from the Server discussions board at Apple's support area of their website (and also from similar instructions from this mailing list from about a month ago, that I found by searching the archives):
    In a text editor open /etc/amavisd.conf
    Search for the section that reads:
    @localdomainsacl = ( ".$mydomain" );
    below it add this line:
    @localdomainsmaps = ( 1 );
    Save.
    Stop and Start Mail Services
    I logged into my server locally with the root account, followed the above instructions, opened amavisd.conf in TextEdit, but the desired change did not happen.

  • SSRS 2012 SP2, Native / Report Manager, non-IE browsers show date parameters in US format MM/DD/YYYY, ignoring locale settings

    I have a server running SSRS 2012 SP2, in Native / Report Manager mode. The server, reports, desktop etc are all set to en-AU.
    Using IE, date parameters show as expected in DD/MM/YYYY format.  However using Chrome or Firefox, they show in US format MM/DD/YYYY.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • How to ignore browser 's local setting ?

    I use ADF to implement JSP Application ?
    I am in Thailand .
    Thai year = english year + 543 .
    ADF display date according to locale that is set in browser .
    I want to ignore locale setting in browser and always use Locale.ENGLISH
    What should I do ?
    and another question ?
    if I customize ADF to display in THAI year by customize setter and getter method in EntityImpl . Can I know what is locale that is set in client 's browser in those setter and getter method , because ADF dose not pass request object to EntityImpl ?
    thanks in advance

    You can change ADF Model tier in the application Module :
    getSession().setLocale(Locale.ENGLISH);
    The default value of the locale is the JVM Locale
    Don't code view problematic in EntityImpl. Entity are only for binding ViewObject attributes and persistence tier. you can code it in viewRow classes (you can generate it checking ¨the check box in the java menu editing the viewObject.

  • How to use different (not local) user for NTLM auth in Authenticator?

    Hi All,
    I use custom authenticator to provide user / passwords to connect to .NET Web Services. I overloaded function getPasswordAuthentication() that returns right user / password combination for the requested URL. It all works perfectly for many kinds of HTTP connections: basic, ntlm, ntlm-v2, through proxy, ssl, etc.
    My problem is that during NTLM authentication from Windows computers JVM uses credentials of the currently logged in domain user instead of calling Authenticator to get other user / password provided by the user. In case when local user credentials fail to authenticate, JVM calls my Authenticator but in case authentication is successful it does uses local domain user and never calls my Authenticator. The issue is when this local domain user does not have enough permissions but authenticated correctly there is no way to supply JVM with another user to begin with.
    What can I do to force JVM to ignore local domain user and to use Authenticator to collect credentials during NTLM authentication requested by the server in case the software runs on a Windows box with currently logged in domain user?
    I am looking for the answer for a long time already but found only questions and suggestions to switch server from NTLM authentication which is not an option for me. From the developer's view it has to be pretty simple change for Sun to do in Java networking API. Is there any way to escalate it to Sun support? Maybe there is some property in some JRE patch level that allows to do this?
    Thank you very much!
    Mark

    Thank you for the reply. I have kind of an opposite problem. I can perfectly connect from Linux computers to Microsoft IIS servers using NTLM or even NTLMv2 authentication. My problem is connecting from Windows client computer joined to the same domain as IIS server with the domain user logged in to this computer. In this case this user account will be used in any HTTP connections I initiate to this IIS server instead of the one that I want to supply in my custom Authenticator.
    I have graphical interactive application that connects to IIS Server. When user runs it and connects to IIS server I want to prompt for the user/password regardless whether JRE may correctly authenticate using current user account credentials. The current user may not have enough permissions in IIS application so I want to use different user to login to IIS application.
    Thank you anyway,
    Mark

  • JBoss and local interfaces (JNDI)

    I'm trying to do simple example involving local interfaces on JBoss.
    There is Bar remote interface, which uses Foo, local interface. And the problem is - i cant locate Foo within Bar:
    ejb-jar.xml:
    <session>
    <ejb-name>BarEjb</ejb-name>
    </session>
    <entity>
    <ejb-name>FooEjb</ejb-name>
    </entity>To make FooEjb accessible for Bar via local interface, as manual says, i have to put additional reference in ejb-jar.xml for Bar:
    <ejb-local-ref>
         <ejb-ref-name>LocalFooEjb</ejb-ref-name>
         <ejb-ref-type>Entity</ejb-ref-type>
         <local-home>beans.FooHome</local-home>
         <local>beans.Foo</local>
         <ejb-link>FooEjb</ejb-link>
    </ejb-local-ref>But it doesnt change anything, JBoss maps Foo like this: "Bound EJB LocalHome 'FooEjb' to jndi 'local/FooEjb@13595063'", and
    public class  Bar ... {
    Object ref = context.lookup("LocalFooEjb");
    }resuluts in exception:
    "java.lang.RuntimeException: LocalFooEjb not bound ..."
    Question: how do i map local interfaces within JBoss to some human-readable and predictable name?
    Thanks for help.
    update:
    specifying JNDI names in jboss.xml does the trick, but i still dont understand why JBoss ignores local-ref element. So anyone who can explain is welcome.

    field2Hidden=test2when I clear field1 (required) and submit I have the following:
    field1=
    field2Input=test2
    field2Text=
    field2Hidden=test2
    message about field1 being requiredI would expect field2Text to still retain the value.
    Furthermore if I set the field2Text to readonly="true", it, too, does not retain its value. However in both cases once the required field has a value and is submitted, all values show as expected.
    My only workaround for this is to set my detailBean session scope, but that avoids the problem.

  • ISG Debug - IP configuration missing for radius proxy session initiation

    Folks,
    We are trying to configure the ISG as a Radius-Proxy for EAP Authentication. I have configured aaa server radius proxy, clients and aaa auth radius-proxy group as per the guide. I have my interface config as follows:
    interface TenGigabitEthernet0/2/0.205
    encapsulation dot1Q 205
    ip vrf forwarding CS
    ip address 10.20.0.1 255.255.224.0

    service-policy type control DEFAULT_RULES
    ip subscriber l2-connected
      initiator dhcp
      initiator radius-proxy
      arp ignore local
    When I try to connect a wifi client to an AP, I can see that the AP is forwarding the Access-Request to the ISG but the ISG does not forward it to the AAA. In the ISG debug I see the following message:

    Can any one help to identify what is missing here pls?

  • BO 4.1 SP2 Date Input controls

    Hello,
    We have made a BO upgrade from BO 4.0 sp7 patch level 3 to BO 4.1 sp2
    After testing some reports we have realized that input controls with date dimensions are showing as timestamp and not in the correct date format (see attached), and are not filtering correctly, this  was tested with different sources(bw,oracle,sql server) with the same result.
    Is this a known issue,  a bug? Anyone had this kind of problem?
    Thanks on advance.
    Santiago.

    If there's a difference between the viewers, it could likely be a defect.  I would recommend that you open an incident with WebI Support to take a futher look.
    I just did a quick search and don't see any ADAPTs open for the date format in input controls, other than one fixed in SP05 for Input Controls ignoring locale preferences (ADAPT01645726), which looks to have forwarded into BI 4.1 SP01, so you shouldn't see it in SP02:
    http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1748056
    Though, if you change your viewing locale preferences and the format changes, I'd definitely recommend mentioning this in your incident.
    I hope that helps!

  • IMovie HD crashing problem

    I got iLife 08 on my new mac but as I wanted to continue using iMovie HD I downloaded the free version available on the Apple site. The program is very unstable and crashes frequently, especially when trying to drag/amend clip lengths in the timeline, or adjust/delete transitions.
    I tried a fresh download of iMovie HD and have even completely totally reloaded the machine's OS (on advice of Apple help desk) but still have the same problem. Any advice anybody? Thanks.

    Hi many thanks !!!
    I found now that Czech Apple has also localized iMovie6 HD, I'm sure that this will solve the problem and will be installable.
    Seams is better to check local pages rather then seek in US pages anyway it would be nice if Apple will not ignore localized versions of software a let users know also through official pages.
    So if somebody else has this kind of problem localized version of iMovieHD 6 is available here:
    http://apple.lokalizace.com/downloads/cs_iMovieHD6.dmg
    This link contains all other localized software:

  • Issues using 887 when authenticating with MER on a Fibre connection

    Hello All
    I've been battling for a week now to get the config correct for Cisco 887VA.
    I understand Sky use MER to authenticate, however, in order to create the PPP connection, I am using PPPoE without passing any authentication, other than the username|password through option 61 (and vendor information on option 60).
    I have Wiresharked the provided Sky router SR102 to obtain DHCP option 60 and 61 information and have entered these as hex values in the dialer interface.
    I have also spoofed the SR102 MAC address on the dialer interface.
    I have created a sub interface on e0, using dot1q to tag traffic to VLAN 101
    I can indeed see traffic on interface e0.101 but the dialer receives NO ip address.
    I can also see the modem is connected and in sync.
    Am I correct in assuming the e0.101 interface is equivalent to the WAN connection on a seperate modem?

    Chris,
    Just wondering if you managed to get anywhere with this, or just gave up? I'm a Sky Fibre user, sadly using the bundled "Sky Hub" (aptly named, as I consider "Layer 1 Network Hubs" to be just as gash as this ), and have battled with the MER DHCP-based authentication before.
    Previously, I was experimenting using a Cisco Linksys E2400 (or E4200, I forget) running Tomato USB Firmware and was getting frustrated with the hex settings.
    I notice in your configs you posted the following strings, which look like they are trying to send the DHCP Vendor ID/Options that MER needs:
    ip dhcp client client-id hex <<HEX STRING>>
    ip dhcp client class-id hex <<HEX STRING>>
    For your specified <<HEX STRING>> were you also appending the necessary "0x3d" (61) to your custom-generated User+Pass hex (i.e. full string reads "0x3d<<USER+PASS HEX>>")?
    Sources as below, but curious if this could fix it?
