KEPM valuation differences

Hi experts,
i have problems with COGS valuation in KEPM, when i value, COGS are a little different (hundredths) in comparison with cost estimate and simulation of valuation (KE21S), simultaneously cost estimate and KE21S are same. In KE4U i have 03 and 04 assign to strategies. Way valuation in KEPM is different?
Thanks a lot
Gustavo

Hi Predeep,
the problem has been really with the dates, because the plan was over whole year and i use this amount to KE21S, when i use amount from one month, the COGS was correct. COGS in KEPM is sum of months, differences are from rounding.
Thank You
Gustavo

  • Valuation Difference is blocking the release of Credit Memo to FI

    Hi,
We had created an Invoice on 03rd May with billing date 25th April, and then released this invoice to Finance.
Now we have created a Credit memo for that invoice, and trying to release to Finance but system is giving the following error "Reversal of document is not possible" .
In debugging, we found that in accounting document some valuation difference is there, that is the why system is giving the error.
In credit memo as well as in invoice same exchange rate has been maintained.
Can anybody help in this please?
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Hi
This is may be because of the valuation difference in the Materrial....Because, billing happend in previous month and may be as a month end process material valuation might happen (costing run).
If it is the case, VPRS is changed at the time of Credit memo.
In this situation, you can  cancel the invoice in SD.

    Hi Friends,
Could anyone please tell me briefly how and where the configuration done in transaction code 8KEN - (Account determination for charging of valuation difference) works? What I basically wanted to know once we maintain the configuration how we can test whether it is working properly or not.

    Hi,
    Refer the below thread
[Re: Accounting entries for Foreign currency revaluation..Accounting entries]
    From Vendor perspective :
If the monthly valudation is there then the entries will get posted against "Unrealised Gain  / Loss Account" with posting to "Balance Sheet Readjustment Account" also.
And if the final payment to be made to Vendor then the entry will get posted to the "Realised Gain / Loss account"

  • Inventory Valuation Difference for Finished Goods

    Dear Experts,
I have a following query below when the FG Inventory valuation differences are posted
Finished goods price control is set as u201CSu201D
    Eg: In Jan 2010 stock value 1000 ( 100*10)
    Feb 2010 , opening stk of 1000 ( 100 units * 10 per piece)
In Feb 2010 , FG price has changed to 12 per piece ( Standard cost estimate executed)
System  has posted the price difference entry
    Debit FG stock 200/-
    Credit Inv Price Diff 200/-
Now the query is,  stocks pertaining to Jan 2010 are lying in Feb 2010,
When Inventory  valuation is done,  my profit is overstated in Feb 2010 for Jan 2010 stocks by 200/-
Is there any way to handle in SAP that it would post the price diff in Jan 2010, instead of Feb2010.
    Advance thanks
    Sanjai

    Dear Ajay,
I will release std cost est  in Jan and also in Feb.
But since the Jan stock is carried to Feb, during the month end when I value the FG , price difference for Jan stock is posted in Feb .
Currently the client wants to value the stock on actual basis, what is the best option to overcome. we are in BBP stage
Eg Jan stock value is 2000 ( 200*10)
Feb Stock Value of goods produced in Feb is (100*12) 1200
Feb end stock as per the client it should be 2000+1200 = 3200
Note - But as per standard costing my price will be 3600 ( 300*12
    Thanks

  • Exchange Valuation difference to be disbtributed on profit center

    Dear All,
I want to distribute the exchange rate valuation difference to original profit center, what steps should be follow? How to distribute the same?
    Regards,
    Rajeev

    Hi,
Please note that the Realized Gain/Loss on Forex GL Code is a Profit and Loss Account and a Cost Element. Because of which, it picks the Profit Center from OKB9.
As far as I know, we cannot avoid Profit Center Document in this scenario.

  • Foreign Currency Valuation difference betwen 4.7 & ECC 6.0

    Hi Experts,
    Document currency = MYR
    Local currency = SGD
    Group Currency = USD
We run foreign currency valuation for company code currency and group currency.
    Valuation results in 4.7
There differences posted in/during local currency valuation & group currency valuation.
    Valuation results in ECC 6.0
The differences only posted in/during group currency valuation.
There are no posting in/during local currency valuation.
Can I know whether this is SAP standard logic differences between 4.7 & ECC 6.0?

  • COPA Planning Framework(KEPM) valuate system

How the COPA Plannign Framework(Tcode KEPM) works?
Where they pull out the figure or value fields? How the system will work?

You define planning levels , planning package, and planning method. This then allows you to enter your plan data into COPA. It can be used to calculate and distribute plan data too. The set up uses value fields and characteristics from COPA.

  • Material valuation difference in FI and MM area for P.O in foreign Currency

Seek assistance in solving the following issues related to P.O in foreign currency. Thanks in advance
1, For purchase orders in foreign currency, during MIGO,in the FI document, the  inventory value which include cost payable to the vendor, taxes, CHA and freight are calculated in foreign currency and the company code currency value is arrived by multiplying the total  inventory value with the exchange rate prevailing in Ob08 on the posting date of MIGO, instead of adding the values of basic price converted to local currency at the rate prevailing on MIGO, Custom duty at the rate prevailing on Customs Miro and Freight CHA etc which are inputted in local currency and converted to P.O currency in P.,O, at the exchange rate in P.O
The value thus arrived is different from the actual value paid since the freight and CHA are in co code currency in the P.O and converted to P.O currency in P.O with exchange rate prevailing on the date of P.O and Custom duty paid in local currency is at the rate prevailing on Custom MIRO.
2, Freight and CHA are entered as condtions in the P.O and the values entered in local currency. These are converted to P.O currency by the system at the exchange rate prevailing on the P.O date. During MIGO in the FI document the values for these are arrived by multiplying the value in P.O currency with the exchange rate prevailing on MIGO. for e.g. the CHA lumpsum entered as INR 20,000 is converted to $ 400, assuming the OB08 rate on the date of P.O is 50. if on the date of MIGO OB08 is 60, during MIGO, in the FI document entry for local currency the CHA charges become 24000. ( 400 x 60 ). While the actual amount is 20,000. the same scenario exist for freight too which is entered in local currency.
    WHAT IS HAPPENING
    1. Foreign Vendor - Foreign Currency X OB08 rate on MIGO Posting Date
    2. Freight - Company Code Currency Converted to Foreign Currency as per OB08 rate on PO Creation Date X OB08 rate on MIGO  Date
    3. CHA - Company Code Currency Converted to Foreign Currency as per OB08 rate on PO Creation Date X OB08 rate on MIGO Date
    4. Customs - Company Code Currency Converted to Foreign Currency as per OB08 rate on Actual Customs Payment Date X OB08 rate on MIGO Date
    WHAT IS REQUIRED
    1. Foreign Vendor - Foreign Currency X OB08 rate on MIGO Posting Date
    2. Freight - Company Code Currency Converted to Foreign Currency as per OB08 rate on PO Creation Date X OB08 rate on PO Date
    3. CHA - Company Code Currency Converted to Foreign Currency as per OB08 rate on PO Creation Date X OB08 rate on PO Date
    4. Customs - Actual Customs Duty paid in Company Code Currency through Customs MIRO

pl. help me. I am not able to clear open item in f-03 which is maintained in BRL.  I am posting payment in usd. the error reads:
    Ex.rate diff.accts are incomplete
    Diagnosis
The accounts for posting exchange rate differences could not be determined. For the specified G/L account and the specified currency key, the accounts are only specified incompletely. Either the accounts for the implemented exchange rate difference, the accounts for the valuation differences or the balance sheet adjustment account are missing.
    System response
The system cannot generate the exchange rate difference posting.
    Procedure
By pressing ENTER, you achieve that the document is reset to a status without automatic posting. In another window, you can complete default settings for exchange rate differences and post the document afterwards.

    Hi Uma,
Exchange Rate has been defined both the end. Like INR = USD and USD = INR.
Here you are not yet defined GL account for Exchange Rate Difference account (Gain or Loss).
    T.Code OB09 Define G/L , Currency and Currency Type.
Before that you would have the GL account please create in FS00.
    Hope it will help you.

  • F.05 Valuate GR/IR  Account

    Hi Guru,
What the exactly meaning in valuating GR/IR account, although i read the help for the following sentence. i still canot understand how it happen in the posting.
"A statement and valuation are only completed if the balance per order number and item is negative, meaning that a receipt of goods has occurred.
does it mean that IR will not be valuated? and only GR will be valuated?
"Valuation differences from valuated GR/IR accounts are generally not saved in the document. The difference is only saved for a valuation in valuation areas.
what it meaning that the difference not saved in document, then can I see it in any document. and also how can i track that it is saved in valuation area?

  • Posting of Exchange rate differences in parallel currencies

    Hello experts,,
    We are on ECC 6.
When we enter an incoming invoice with MIRO and the current exchange rate differs from that in the PO, the exchange rate differences in local currency and in parallel currency (group currency) post to different accounts.
Is this a standard feature / behavior? If so, where can i find the settings.
Shouldn't the postings in all currencies (except doc currency), in the event of exchange rate difference post to the same account?
The material ledger is not active.
We have maintained a local currency and a group currency.
Example to illustrate my issue -
    DC = JPY
    LC = SGD
    GC = USD
    PO for asset.
    PO value = 100000 JPY
Ex rate not fixed in the PO.
    Ex rate at PO -
    100 JPY = 1.6 SGD
    100 JPY =  0.85 USD
    Ex Rate at IR
    100 JPY = 1.7 SGD
    100 JPY =  0.9 USD
    When IR is entered,
The exchange rate difference of 100 SGD (@ 0.1 per 100 JPY) is posted to the asset. No posting in USD (though there is a balance of 50 USD).
At clearing (Transaction FB1S - GL account clearing) the exchange rate difference (in GC only, because no balance in LC) of 50 USD (@ 0.05 per 100 JPY) is posted to the Exch. rate difference GL acct.
Thanks in advance for your advice/solution.
    B. Regards,
    Halaswamy

    Hello,
    1.  You have to assign Forex GL's for the reconciliation accounts in OB09.
    2.  At the time of payment for incoming invoices, system can read the valuation differences and it will post to Realized Gain/Loss accounts and B/S adjustment account.
    3. You can consider this amount to issue bonus to your customers.
