Keyboard shortcut fails unless menu is dropped down
I assigned F13 to "Send" in Mail.app, but this shortcut will not work unless I first drop down the Message menu. Every time Maill.app is launched I must first drop down the Message menu to enabel the F13 sortcut. This occurs with Mail.app as well as some other applications not from Apple.
Has anybody else seen this type of problem with shortcuts assigned through the Keyboard and Mouse - Keyboard Shortcuts Preferences?
Although that's listed in the document, It does nothing on my machine and it is enabled in Keyboard Shortcuts. So, if you know the steps to get it working, that would be appreciated. Wired, extended Apple keyboard.
EDIT: Need CONTROLfnF2, which requires two hands, to make it work. IMO, it's much asier to just use the mouse.

Back button, back-button's dropdown menu, keyboard shortcut (command-[) don't function after upgrade. I've disabled extensions that seem suspect.
Did you try to disable all extensions?

Keyboard shortcut for context menu
Hello all. I recently got a MacBook and it's the first Mac I've ever had. I'm a keyboard shortcut guy when I can be and one thing that's stumped me is using the keyboard to open up the context menu.
Does anybody know a keyboard shortcut for opening the context menu (ie Ctrl + mouse Click)?
If there isn't one, I would be happy to add a custom keyboard shortcut for it in the System Preferences. I've tried to do so but I'm doing something wrong because it isn't working. Here's what I've tried specifically:
1. For "All Applications" add Ctrl+Space for the Menu Title "Show Context Menu"
2. For "All Applications" add Ctrl+Space for the Menu Title "Open Context Menu"
Does anybody know the exact Menu Title for the context menu?
Help is much appreciated! The Keyboard Shortcuts are for menu items, not macro creation. What you want to do requires a third-party utility for programming keyboard macros such as iKey, QuickSilver, etc. You'll find these at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

What is/are the keyboard shortcut if I want to pull down a menu item?
What is the keyboard command to pull down a finder menu item? Say I want
to browse the finder menus, without a mouse?Although that's listed in the document, It does nothing on my machine and it is enabled in Keyboard Shortcuts. So, if you know the steps to get it working, that would be appreciated. Wired, extended Apple keyboard.

I'm using a MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.8, and I just recently upgraded from Firefox 4 to 5. Since then my Bookmarks menu has been a nightmare. I have a lot of long bookmark names, but that's never ever been a problem for me - Firefox used to cut them off at a certain length and use ellipses to indicate a longer title. Now when I pull down the Bookmarks menu it's super WIDE.
Additionally, I have to click on the Bookmarks menu title first, then when it drops down I have to move my mouse off to the side and quickly find what I want lest I trigger a subfolder. When a subfolder gets opened, it doesn't go away. My mouse will move up and down other options if they're not wholly covered by the subfolder dropdown, but NOTHING will be highlighted except the subfolder. Not even another subfolder will be triggered when I let my mouse rest of it; I have to click on the website already loaded or my desktop to make the subfolder drop down go away.
I cannot browse my extensive Bookmarks list at all this way. I've got 20 subfolders and a bunch of unsorted links beneath that.I'm not familiar with Windows 7, but... is it possible there is a permissions problem with your profile folder, or read-only set on any database files?

Labview - How to create custom menu bars, drop down menus, pop ups etc.
Hi,
I have a very naive question. How does one create menu bars with custom labels (not NIs defaults), drop down / side menus, pop ups etc.?
Thanks in advance
PaulSearch for the following on the NI website: Run-Time Menus, Run-Time Shortcut Menus.
For pop ups, search for 'dialog' in the Examle Finder (Help -> Find Examples)

Spry dropdown menu not dropping down and reversing order cs4
Hi, thank you for reading my post.
I am having problems with my spry menu bar not dropping down when
I upload it to my site, I get bulleted lists. When I preview it, it works fine. Also, the menu is in reverse order (??) I've tried retyping it in the opposite order to see if that fixes it, but somehow it goes back to backwards. It should start with home at the left. I am trying to post my code, but it will not let me paste. How do I paste code? Sorry if thats a silly question.
Thank youHi, thank you for your replies. I set everything to left, which caused it to display correctly in dreamweaver. Thank you! I did enjoy the "wiggle" that I get from the menu items on hover, they move from right to left, will that cause problems if I change one back to right? I still am having trouble getting the menu bar to show on the website, Im still getting bullets.
How do I put the css files? They might be on the site, but not in the right place, where should they be? I also made another site from the same template, and saved it to a folder in my site so it can be previewed. Will that cause problems? Both spry's are not working..... argh! Thank you to everyone for your help, I appreciate it, this is my first time using the spry menu feature. Thank you for the help on posting code. Here is a link to the site and the code:

I just downloaded the newest version of Itunes, I deauthorized all of my computers and now can't find the menu to authorize. It refers to a store menu that doesn't exist on the new software. My account allowed me to deauthorize, but has no option to authorize. I am completely confused with the new software, I just want to download my music to my new computer.
With iTunes 11 on PCs the drop-down menus are hidden by default - control-B should get the menus to show
This screenshot is from a Mac, but it should be similar on a PC : -
Keyboard shortcut for Sub Menu item Only works AFTER using it
I have a Custom MOVE TO READ Mailbox shortcut. This is a SUB Menu item.. MESSAGE/Move To/READ FOLDER.
It is really sweet to clear out my INBOX and save emails.
So, what is ODD is that that menu has to be Clicked on and shown each time MAIL is run for that keyboard shortcut to work.
I find that Odd and would love to have it work without having to "train" it everyday.Hello,

Horizontal Menu Bar Drop Downs Not Displaying
I've had this problem before and here I am grappling with it again. I have a Spry horizontal menu bar with a few drop down menus on it. The drop downs are not displaying above the other layers on the page. http://bakerlake50k.com/draft/index.php
Need help.
JeannetteI get dizzy when I look at your markup. Have a look at the following

Rolling the mouse over the menu bar does not activate menu bar drop downs
Anyone one familiar with menu bars and drop downs not activating when the mouse is rolled over them? This happens consistently afterrunning Photoshop it seems. The menus only work if they are clicked. Webpage links do not display the hand and also have to be clicked. Additionally, Photoshop selections (marching ants) do not activate.
The standard behavior of Macintosh Menus is to do nothing when the mouse is rolled over them. They drop down once you click somewhere, then roll over a similar item, such as click and release on the apple menu, then rollover the File Menu or the Edit menu.

Since update, all CC apps no longer will launch from menu bar drop down
Accepted prompt to update CC apps, and now the menubar drop down menu lists two versions of every app I've installed — one with "(2014)" after the name.
And none of the apps will now launch from the menubar drop down CC app list.
How I downgrade back to the CC version that actually worked fine?Does turning off OpenGL in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?
Please read this and provide the pertinent information:

Can't get drop down menu to drop down
I am still learning this process and I could use some help. I
know alot of people prefer not to use the spry menu bar in
dreamweaver cs3, but I have already built them using it and I need
some help. What is happening is you can see the down arrow in the
menu and the drop down is in my dreamweaver, so I know I created
them, but when you click on the arrow nothing drops down. The main
part is set to menubaritemsubmenu and then the drop down section is
set to menubarhorizontal and all are set to visible. There has to
be something I am missing in there and I could use some help.
Thanks,
DannyThe link to the page?

SPRY menu not dropping down on certain pages
I'm having a lot of problems now that I've uploaded this webpage. I created this webpage in Dreamweaver and used the SPRY menu template and everything worked perfectly in Dreamweaver but now that I have uploaded it I can not use the drop downs on like 7 pages. When you are on the shop page, the dinning page, Living, Directions, Design, Events, and the contact page the SPRY menu will not drop down. Could someone look at my site and perhaps my code and tell me what I am doing wrong on those pages?
http://discoverclearfield.com/shop.html
http://discoverclearfield.com/dining.html
there are a couple of the pages that don't work.
Thanks so much.Have a look here and come back after you have fixed the markup http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdiscoverclearfield.com%2Fshop.htm l
