Keypad lock key problem

I recently upgraded the phone software to nokia v 20 in my nokia asha 202. The updates are nowhere to be seen in the phone which is a different issue but after the update the key lock button has started malfunctioning. Previously it used to lock and unlock the keypad but now it doesnt unlock the keypad anymore, the display lights just comes on and I have to press the unlock button in the screen to unlock it. Can anyone offer any help?

Shift-Lock Key Problem

Any other MBA users finding that you sometimes have to press the shift-lock key twice to get it to engage?
It is not a problem with the button because it works 100% of the time if I cycle it on and off, however, sometimes when I first press it, it does not seem to recognise the first press.

simple reasoning. Quite often you incidentally hit the caps lock key while trying to hit the shift key, thus from then on all following letters are in UPPERCASE - so you have to press the key a bit longer before it is locked. less OFTEN PEOPLE shout at each other in discussions for example

Caps lock key problem

In Mack Book pro - the CAPS lock key will have to be kept pressed for a long time. There is no way to get rid of this. Any of you if you face this problem please let me know how to solve this.

Keypad lock/Mute problems

I have just updated my Blackberry Curve 8520 OS to "Platform 5.2.0.64" and my phone is constantly muted!
If i pull the battery & restart the sound returns, then as soon as the keypad locks it mutes again.
Is there any way of resolving this? If need be I am willing to revert to the previous OS as it is just a nuisance!
It is muting the ring tone, text tone, bbm tone, and everything else with a tone! Including my all important alarm clock!

Hello sfmk2 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest doing a clean re-install of the software.
Be sure to back up your device first to save your data and consult KB11320 for the instructions on the reload process.
When you go to restore data, its recommended to do a selective restore to reduce the issue from returning. KB10339 will show you how to do the selective restore.

Caps Lock Key Problem or Feature?

just wondering if this is a new feature on Penryn Macbooks, but if i hit the CAPS LOCK Key too fast it doesnt activate or turn on, if i hit it slower, like leave the finger on it a bit longer it does, is this the same for everyone?

Anyone else confirm this? and also does anyone find it annoying?

N97 lock key problem

Whenever my phone turns off because of the empty battery I connect to my PC in rder to charge but when I turn it on the csreen lock key does not function. the phone start unlocked but when it get locked the key does not unlock the phone. So the ony way to go back to normal is removing the battery to switch off the pho and restart it.
Is this a common issue?

I have this exact same bug and basically this prevents me from using the device in a way that would be normal. Honestly, I paid quite some money for this machine, and it keeps annoying me with these relatively small, but very user un-friendly bugs.
It almost certainly has to do with firmware upgrades, because I didn't have this particular bug before upgrading the firmware, although the older version had other bugs...
It doesn't look promising...

Lion - num lock and caps lock keys problem

Since installing lion I have to have num lock key and caps lock key turned on to type normally (otherwise I get all numbers if num lock off, or all caps if cap lock off). It's like the keys' functions have been reversed. (2.16 GHz MacBook).
Any help much appreciated.

if you run Windows 8 and I guess you have backlit keyboard for your GT70 ONE, please try to download new firmware here, and give it a try, I guess the worng firmware installed in your system , please choose the firmware with backlit KB and install , good luck

Keypad, lock key and front keys not responding

Ever since about last week, the keys on my Torch have not been responding. The touch screen and the phone itself still works properly except I cannot type with the keypad, cannot lock the phone with the lock button and cannot use the "Call, Off, and return key". The scroller works once in a while. The strange thing is that all those buttons seem to work occassionally. Whenever I turn on my phone, everything works fine for a couple hours and then after that, the buttons just don't work. Also, if and when I am able to use the buttons, the camera screen would open by itself for no reason. I am sure that I did not click the camera button on the side of the phone.
I thought that the problem had come up because I had used my phone when my hands were wet, but I already spoke with an At&t worker and after checking my phone, she said it didn't seem to be because of water damage. I didn't drop my phone in a bucket of water or anything and it seems kind of extreme to have become damaged because I used it when my hands were slightly wet.
Does anyone know what the problem is, or have a similar problem?

I am having the same problem!!! What I usually do is swipe my fingers through all the buttons of the keypad and that does it but it is really frustating and I am afraid that it will eventually damage the board... I need a solution too!

Caps lock and num lock key problems

hi- so when the caps lock and num lock are lit my keys type lower case. when the caps is not lit and the num is lit my keys type upper case. when the caps and the num are not lit just the num keys work meaning j=1 k=2 etc... any ideas how to get back to normal? thanks patch

Problem with lock key.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to inform you that, I am facing problem in my lock key since from the last one year after apple change my i phone 5 due to sparking problem in phone at the time of charging. Then apple replace my phone but within few weeks i realize that my lock key not working properly then i have gone to apple service center but i was shocked when apple told me that some liquid spot found inside your i phone so we will not able to help you. I was shocked that apple give me this kind of completely negative response. I was never expect that apple behave like this. Apple give this ph by replaced my old one & now apple behaving like this. They never thought that customer not fool that he will use his ph in to the water.
After one year I have read an article in apple support site that mostly i phone 5 got the same problem ( lock key problem) and they are ready to change the lock mechanism for those i phone 5 having the same problem. I check my serial no also & found my phone is also eligible for the same service. I have go to the apple service center & give him my phone but i was shocked again when they also told me that sorry sir some liquid spot found in your phone we are not able to help you.
I am not able to understand what happen to the apple services after sir stive jobs. I have no physical damage in my phone then why don't apple change the lock key mechanism if they already know that fault is totally from the apple end.
I am just expecting that apple will take my issue seriously i am facing the problem since last one year but no one giving me positive response. I am still thinking that is their i have done any mistake for choosing the apple product. Is it the apple of sir stive jobs the people are talking about this.

NOKIA N95 Auto Keypad locking problems

The N95 has an auto keypad locking system, every time the phone is closed, the keypad locks automatikally, and it is impossible to use any kind of key. Ypu have to open the phone in order to auto unlock the keypad.
Is it possioible somehow to switch off the auto keypad lock on N95?
ALFA + VITA = Y2K

Problem that starts with *apparent* sticking caps lock key

I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro (two weeks outside of AppleCare, of course!). Last night, it appeared the caps lock key was sticking. It would type in all caps even when I hit the button and the green indicator light went off. Moments later, I noticed that the option that shows you all the windows on the same screen was suddenly going very, very slow. I tried to restart but it started in safe mode - twice. It finally started correctly on the third or fourth reboot. I hoped it was a fluke.
Unfortunately it's happening again and rebooting doesn't seem to fix it - I can't put in my password to login because it thinks I'm typing in all caps.
Any ideas, please? Thanks.

This may enter the Apple Hall of Fame for stupid posts. I spent a couple hours last night restarting the computer, trying restore etc....and really doing anything I could from clinton's link in order to identify the problem. I'd even called our local store to let them know I would be there first thing in the morning (I'm boarding a plane in a few minutes and really needed my laptop for this trip).
So after doing all of those things + removing the caps lock key to see if it was somehow manually stuck, I go the store this morning. Virtual panic. I needed a presentation off the laptop for a workshop tomorrow and I hadn't backed up since I created it...
I enter the store, I begin to explain the situation in detail, I open up the laptop....
And the guy at the store says "Did you notice your shift key is stuck down?". Why No, I hadn't noticed that! With a tiny wiggle and a tap, that key popped back into place and the computer worked fine. The Safe Mode was happening because the shift key was down.

N8 problem with side lock key

Did anyone find any problem with N8 side locking key. Mine one has to be slided really hard to get it locked and unlocked, the mechanism is not as smooth as in the earlier phones.
Trying to wrap people in the cocoon of seamless connectivity during their mobility.

I also have this problem after installing version 5.0.0.508. It appears that I no longer have an option for locking the keyboard. When I select Options/Screen/Keyboard and select Left Side Convienence Key Options it does not show up in the list of selectable options.

Software 5 update problem with keyboard lock key

I just downloaded the software update v5 and when it was all done my keyboard lock key stopped working, has anybody else had this problem? any solutions other than a downgrade?
