KM Navigation iView and long Greek folder names

We have a very serious problem. We are working in EP 6.0 SP2. Everything worked fine with patch 27 until we installed patch 30 to correct some other bugs. After patch 30, the KM navigation iViews with long folder names containing Greek characters, when we choose "Details" of a file, the iView ends with the error:
com.sapportals.wdf.WdfError
at com.sapportals.wdf.WdfCompositeController.initFromPageContext(WdfCompositeController.java:775)
at com.sapportals.htmlb.Component.initializeFromId(Component.java:230).........
I must clarify that everything works fine if you go to that file through Content Administration --> KM Content.
Something is wrong with the KM Navigation iView.
I searched the knowledgemanagement.log and I also noticed the following error:
The combination of start-RID and current-RID is invalid. The given startRID /documents/Public Documents/ÏÐÁÐ Á.Å./Ã.Ä. ÄÉÏÉÊÇÔÉÊÇÓ ÕÐÏÓÔÇÑÉÎÇÓ & ÏÑÃÁÍÙÓÇÓ ÕÐÇÑÅÓÉÙÍ/Ä. ÃÑÁÌÌÁÔÅÉÁÓ & ÐÑÙÔÏÊÏËËÏÕ/ÅÉÓÅÑ×ÏÌÅÍÁ ÐÑÙÔÏÊÏËËÏÕ/Code Changes .rtf
If you ignore the greek letters, you will notice that the given startRID after a few letters lost the path but the ancestor didn't.
Can anybody help me because all our work depends on that?

We have the same problem, but without special characters.

  • KM navigation iview - how to disable folder drop down menu?

    Hi all!
Portal version: EP7 SP9; I am trying out KM navigation iview opportunities.
My goal is to create an iview where user can only download folder items (files); and in the same time I would like to disable all the drop-down menus there.
For example, folder itself has a drop-down menu; also there is one for each of the files. So, is it possible disable/remove these associated drop-down menus for each accordant item within KM navigation iview?
    All ideas/comments will be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    --- Kaspars

    Hi,
Probably yo mean the hover menu next to the displayname of a resource.
KM navigation iview has a layoutSet associated (see PCD property layoutset). Find the layoutset in System Admin -> System config -> KM -> Content management -> User Interface -> Settings -> LayoutSet (click <i>show advanced options</i> if you did not so). Here you have some collectionRenderers and resourceRenderers set.
The hovermenu represents the commands for the resources itself, so you click the resourceRenderer. Here yo can see a property called <i>Command display</i>. Set it to <b>off</b>. Now the menu should be not visible for the resources in KM navigation.
To setup which commands should be visible you have to set <b>Command Groups</b>. For more info see:<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/9d/233f989a5ba64fa44ed6e0823286ee/frameset.htm">SAPHELP: Commands and Command Groups</a>

  • Exclude and non standard folder names - doesn't add

    Hi
I've discovered a bug with folders using [ ] brackets in their name - they won't add correctly in time machine exclude dialogue.
I've tested other variances (blah), test works fine but [test] doesn't.
Just so people know that this issue exists. I've filed a bug report to Apple.

Now it has gotten worse. We were importing some of the missing folders seperately, until after one import, the entire music folder on my network drive went totally missing! Yup, it's gone and my most current backup is over 3 months old (my fault). Now I *really* hate iTunes.

  • Use Powershell Command to Search A Folder Then Move Any Subfolders and Where The Folder Name Contains "ARC"

    Hi All,
As a complete novice to the powershell world I am looking for some direction in a script to manage my work project data lifecycle.
I have a share on our production server (\\PROD1\Projects) which contains folders starting 99ENGXXX that contains project work, when staff rename the folder to ARC99ENGXXX, I am trying to work out a powershell command to move the folder and its contents
to a share on a archive server (\\ARC01\Projects). Both are windows servers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Sammy

Try this (Assumes you are running at least PowerShell V3):
    Get-ChildItem "\\PROD1\Projects" -Recurse -Filter "ARC*" -Directory |
    Move-Item -Destination "\\ARC01\Projects"

  • Portal runtime Error in KM Navigation iView

    Hi,
I have created a KM Navigation iview and assigned it to a role.
When I preview it via portal content, everything is fine.
When I login as an end user with that role (to which this iview is assigned) this list of documents in that folder is shown. But when I click on any of the doc to view that, it gives me
    Portal runtime error.
An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.
    Exception ID: 04:09_22/07/11_0133_7786050
Refer to the log file for details about this exception.
I have already assigned the Full control permission for this role to that document folder.
Is there any more setting that needs to be done??
    Thanks,
    Atul

    Hey Atul,
Check the URL Generator Service for the host and alternative host. See to it that these URLs have the same domain name as that of the Portal. Also, if there has been a KM database copy lately, see to it that the document is not pointing to the server in the other environments to which you as an admin could have access to but not as an end user. So, for that, again check the URL Generator Service. I am just throwing in possibilities, it had happened with me once.
Use HTTPwatch to verify what URL is the iView trying to point to OR I guess your logs might have already told you that.
    Hope it helps,
    Prathamesh

  • KM Navigation iView & External File Repository

First off I am new to the Portal (we are using version 7.0 SP5). When you create a new file repository (to a network drive) outside of the Portal box (we are on a windows environment), how do you test it to see if it actually works?
Created the File System Repository object and entered the fully qualified path to a specific folder on the network drive. I then created a KM Navigation IView and tried to point to this same path and I get the following error when trying to do a Preview:
    "Item not found
    Portal Share
The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated repository is currently accessible."
Where do I go to troubleshoot this problem. Not sure where to start...
Please be as detailed as possible as we do not have a basis person.
    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi Thomas,
To check if your repository is mounted correctly or not,
Go to System Administration > Monitoring > Knowledge Management > Component Monitor
Here you can see the Repository Managers link,
Open it and check the status of your repository. The Icon should be green, if it is red then the repository configuration has some problems.
    Thanks.

Hello, you can achieve this creating a custom layout set. To do so, go to
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > User Interface > Settings > Layout Set
Choose a layout set - Consumer Explorer for example - check it and select Advanced Copy
Under Scope of Duplication leave only Collection Renderer Settings checked
Under Naming Conventions fill the blanks as your needs (I usually add company name as prefix)
Click on Execute, your layout set is now created.
Search for it and click to display its properties, there you'll find the four main items that compose a LayoutSet:
    - Layout Controller
    - Collection Renderer
    - Resource Renderer
    - Commands for Details Menu
You wanna work on the Collection Renderer, notice it's a custom one created during the copy. Select it to edit to chage settings.
Put the following entry under Displayed Properties:
    rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink),rnd:command(command=download/style=icon),contentlength,modified
    Save.
On your KM Navigation iView set the Layout Set property with this one you've just created.
This should do the basics you're asking:
    - a link to download the documents
    - no context menu with undesired commands
In this scenario I've eliminated complety the context menu, if you want to have the menu with just
some options you must work on UI Commands and UI Commands Group, which I suggest doing after
you have basics knowledge on layout sets only..
You can find on SDN lots of documents and threads about KM User Interface, have a special look into Layout Set, Collection Renderers and UI Commands/Groups
    kind regards,
    Rafael

  • Calling KM navigation iview from ABAP

    Hi All,
I am trying to call the KM Navigation iview from ABAP webdynpro view. it is like implement the same functionality as currently available for Repository filters through ABAP coding. I have to create a new Folder in the KM and call the KM Navigation iview for that specific folder. I know KM has provided few new webservices which I can use to create a new folder in the KM repository but I am unable to open the KM navigation iview with the newly created folder through coding.
I am using the navigate_absolute Portal Navigation method to call the KM Navigation iview from ABAP code. Currently it is opening iview with the folder set as root folder in the iview property but I need to open it with the newly created folder through the code. The same sort of functionality is implemented from java code by passing the Business parameter with navigate_absolute method. The problem with ABAP code is that I don't know what is the exact format of the Business parameter to be passed.
In the java code the Business parameter is passed as
    Uri=/documents/cprxrpm/46A73F1FEED21B0DE10000000A4241A8:DFM_450_MIT3_SAURABH/RIH/47B44774254208CCE10000000A4241A8:wonder-item-01 :WONDER-ITEM-01
Does anybody have idea how can i implement the same scenario in ABAP and what should be the format of the to be passed as Business Parameter from ABAP code ?
    Regards,
    Vikash

In the abap web dynpro view create an exit out bound plug with url as parameter.
In your wddoinit call the the url. The url can be accessed by previewing the km iview in content management. Hope this helps.

  • Understanding Dynamic Navigation iview.....

In MSS, I have the following workset in my role...
    ->Team (workset)
       ---+ Team (webdynpro proxy page)
       ---+ Employee information (folder)
       ---+ Employee Working Time (folder)
       etc....
The "Team webdynpro proxy page" has an iview ,"Services", assigned in "Dynamic Navigation" but there is nothing particular about that iView itself. However, all folders (and their contents) below the Team webdynpro proxy page appear in the Dynamic Navigation panel (like "Employee information" and "Employee Working Time"). I do not understand the connection between the dynamic navigation iview and how all folders in that workset know to display in that dynamic navigation area. There seems to be no explicit assignment. How does that work?
edit: a bit more info....the "Services" iview is part of the Common Parts business package and based off the "related services" iview template. Still not sure how it "knows" to display the objects below that page that has it assigned as dynamic nav.

Did you blog about this solution?  If so could you direct me to the blog?  We need to add numerous links to outside URLs in Related links.  I need to order them somewhat differently than alphabetically.

  • Changing the Public Folder name or owner's name of a MacBook running 10.5

    Hi
Does anyone know how or if, I can change the name of my Public Folder or alternatively change my MacBook's owner name?
It seems crazy that after years of releasing software Apple would default a folder name to the full name of the owner with no shortname option and not warn you that the name you use would become a long winded folder name.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi,
To change the name of your computer just open System Preferences from the Applications folder and click on sharing.
Click on the lock in the bottom left corner of the window if it is locked. At the top of the window there is a box with the computer name in it, just change this to what you want.
I would advise against changing the name of the Public folder but if you don't want it to be viewable on the local network click on it and press command + i, under the general tab you can untick the shared folder option. You can then create another folder within your home directory (name it anything you want) and bring up the get info window and select the shared folder option.
    Hope this helps

    Hi Ashwini,
Can someone tell me how to make the KM navigation iview role based?
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>><i>You can have a Navig. iView in your own folder..Attach this iView to a page --> page to workset --> workset to a role. SIMPLE!</i>
    <b><u>Try this:</u></b>
    Have 2 iViews, 2 pages, 2 worksets, 2 usergroups (ug1 & ug2 (<i>say</i>))..
Also, you have to separate your news links in 2 folders (folder1 & folder2):

  • Iview for userhome user folder

    Hello Portal Experts,
I want to create an iview which should open (/userhome/<user-id>) personal folder specific to the logged in user.
I found the following thread related to that and I have created a navigational iview and given the path /userhome/<user.id>, but the <user.id> is not recognised by the system.  Can any of you suggest me a solution for this.

    Hi
[There are 2 possibilities to achieve that|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/thread?threadID=1288198&messageID=7289144#7289144]
So what you could do is to create a new iView based on the portal component com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Generic and in the parameter "URL Template" insert "/irj/go/km/navigation/userhome/<User.UserID>/Personal Documents/mytargetfolder".
(found this one on the forum)
    OR
    KM Navigation IView
    path = /alias/cernum_documents/Personal Documents/<user.id>/Personal Documents
    (We used this one)
If you've got a new userID, the folders are created as a subfolders of the userID folder is accessed at least once through an IView. (a servcie behind triggers the creation)
