KM navigation iView shows up as 'Root Folder'

All,
I am working on the Integration of SAP Portal and BOBJ. We were successful with the integration, however we have a small issue that we are trying to work on.
The folder view of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise repository content from KM navigation iView shows up as 'Root Folder', is it possible to change the name of this folder within SAP Portal and how would we go about doing it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Toor, it does not make sense for you to modify the name of the Root Folder, nor can you.
Open your KM Iview in edit mode.
Find the code link field. It should be called com.sap.km.cm.navigation
If so, look for the fields:
Path to Initially Displayed Folder
Path to Root Folder for Navigation
they should be like:
/alias/documents
the folder documents is a folder in KM under the root folder. You can make this whatever you want.
When you execute the iview you will be able to see the content on the /documents folder

WedDav Repository not showing up in Root Folder

Hello All,
I have created the WebDav respository in NW7.0 SPS14 portal as described in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e3/923230b24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/content.htm
Created an HTTP System and Created the Webdav Repository and finally restarted the system. But I'm unable to see the folder in the Root folder.
The WebDav system is IIS server. I have created the KM systems and have assigned the usermapping for the KM system. Hide in Root folder is not checked at all.
Repository manager in Component Monitor shows green.
Please let me know as why I'm not able to see the folder in KM content --> Root folder.

The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated repository is currently accessible.
Any further pointers on how to find the root cause for the repository not being available?

Calling KM navigation iview from ABAP

Hi All,
I am trying to call the KM Navigation iview from ABAP webdynpro view. it is like implement the same functionality as currently available for Repository filters through ABAP coding. I have to create a new Folder in the KM and call the KM Navigation iview for that specific folder. I know KM has provided few new webservices which I can use to create a new folder in the KM repository but I am unable to open the KM navigation iview with the newly created folder through coding.
I am using the navigate_absolute Portal Navigation method to call the KM Navigation iview from ABAP code. Currently it is opening iview with the folder set as root folder in the iview property but I need to open it with the newly created folder through the code. The same sort of functionality is implemented from java code by passing the Business parameter with navigate_absolute method. The problem with ABAP code is that I don't know what is the exact format of the Business parameter to be passed.
In the java code the Business parameter is passed as
Uri=/documents/cprxrpm/46A73F1FEED21B0DE10000000A4241A8:DFM_450_MIT3_SAURABH/RIH/47B44774254208CCE10000000A4241A8:wonder-item-01 :WONDER-ITEM-01
Does anybody have idea how can i implement the same scenario in ABAP and what should be the format of the to be passed as Business Parameter from ABAP code ?

In the abap web dynpro view create an exit out bound plug with url as parameter.
In your wddoinit call the the url. The url can be accessed by previewing the km iview in content management. Hope this helps.

Navigation IViews

Hi All,
I have a scenario in my project.
I have users divided on the basis of Regions, each Region have 5 folders. So I have created 5 navigation Iviews to point to each folder. Similarly there are 20 Regions (containing 5 folders each).
The user from Region1 should not see the files uploaded from the users belonging to Region2 and soon.(So i have created separate folder structure for each Region in KM reposatory).
Now do I have to create 20 Regions x 5 folders = 100 Navigation Iviews in this case or is there any alternative ?
Please guide me on this.

Dear Pavan,
if I get you right, then you do not need to write any code to do that. The navigation iView checks the permissions when it displays a folderstructure and filters out the folders you are not allowed to see (unless you are a superadmin, see last line of this post). So in the example of Raghu and Lorcan the users will only see the folders they have permission for.
e.g. from Raghu and Loran:
You point the navigation iView to the path /documents
You have the user groups: Region 1, Region 2, Region 3
Folder structure below /documents is: /documents/Folder1, /documents/Folder2, /documents/Folder3
On Folder1 the group Region 1 has Permission and on Folder2 the Region 2 and so forth.
When logging on with a user belonging to Region 1, the user will only see the path /documents/Folder 1 in the Navigation iView.
To make sure that works, verify that all users of Region 1 are no super administrators because if they are, they are implicit permission owner and see everything.

Automatic refresh of KM navigation iview?

I need to get a KM navigation iview showing company news to refresh at regular intervals. How would I best get this done?
I have tried to find a previous thread that describes this (as it would be a common need, i guess) but all threads seem to be regarding programming own iviews, not using regular KM navigation iview.

Hi,
You have defined a layout set for the KM Navigation iview. Look at that in the System Config -> Content Management -> User interface -> Settings -> Layout set and you should see some TreeCollectionRenderer defined for it. Navigate to that and change the Initial displayed tree level pararmeter to suit your needs.

Requirement -
we need to display a KM Navigation iview which shows the count i.e. no. of the contents in each folder.
Scenario -
I have tried changing this property - in the resource renderer and have created a new layout set and a layout profile.
However this doesnt seem to work.
Please if anyone can help me get the count of the contents in each folder in the KM Navigation iview.

Create navigation iviews to show differents documents from the same folder

Does any body knows how can i create navigations iviews that show differents documents from the same folder? This is my situation i have a folder that include documents for diferents countries, i want create a navigation iview that show only the documents for Canada from this folder.

The only other option is to give user access using taxonomy. But it seems like a lot of extra work to keep documents in the same directory. anyway, here is the overview of steps:
1. create index (SA > System Configuration > Knowledge Mgmnt > Index Administration)
2. create categories within the taxonomy.
3. define Query on each category. (Content Management > Classification > Taxonomy Query Builder)
4. create property: property namespace, property group. (SA > System Configuration > Knowledge Mgmnt > Content Mgmnt > Global Services > Property Metadata)
5. assign props to the docs.
6. Schedule the crawler to create classification index.
7. classify docs so that docs actually go recide in the categories
8. Create role, page and KM Navigation iViews for end user to browse the taxonomy instead of going directly to the repository.
9. restrict permissions on the taxonomy for different user groups.

Calling a specific folder in standard KM navigation iview

Dear developers,
I'm trying to make an iview call a specific km folder of another iview (standard KM navigation iview).
I believe I should use the "EPCM.doNavigate" method, setting the "Navigation context URL" argument to point to the folder I need to open.
(folder = "documents/documents/Mediabank/Products/GB")
But I only get to the default 'root'-folder of the KM.
Here's my DynPage code:

I put in a javaScript in the doContent method that cathes the "KM_CM_Navigation_Komponent_URL" in an eventparameter. Still, I'm having trouble passing this parameter on to the "doOnReady" for the redirect. What should I do to trigger the doOnReady?

KM navigation iview - how to disable folder drop down menu?

Hi all!
Portal version: EP7 SP9; I am trying out KM navigation iview opportunities.
My goal is to create an iview where user can only download folder items (files); and in the same time I would like to disable all the drop-down menus there.
For example, folder itself has a drop-down menu; also there is one for each of the files. So, is it possible disable/remove these associated drop-down menus for each accordant item within KM navigation iview?
All ideas/comments will be appreciated!

Hi,
Probably yo mean the hover menu next to the displayname of a resource.
KM navigation iview has a layoutSet associated (see PCD property layoutset). Find the layoutset in System Admin -> System config -> KM -> Content management -> User Interface -> Settings -> LayoutSet (click show advanced options if you did not so). Here you have some collectionRenderers and resourceRenderers set.
The hovermenu represents the commands for the resources itself, so you click the resourceRenderer. Here yo can see a property called Command display. Set it to off. Now the menu should be not visible for the resources in KM navigation.

How to hide the folder name in a KM Navigation Iview

Scenario,
I am using a KM Navigation Iview with LinkListExplorer Layout set. The Folder Name appears at the top of the collection.
Please can someone tell me how I can hide the folder name for the iview. i.e I do not want the folder name to appear in the iview.

Folder name is located in the breadcrumb
remove your breadcrumb in your collectionrenderer of the layout set you are using.
Check the layout set you are using in your KM navigational iview.

KM Navigation iview not showing contents

Hi,
I am using the KM Navigation iview to show contents in the desktop innerpage below detailed Navigation.When the propert 'height type = Automatic' its not showing any content its showing a single white line.But when i change the 'hieght type= Fixed ' then i could able to see the content with the scroll bar.I know i can change the height,but i cant do it each and everytime when i add the content to the location in KM.
I need the property to be Automatic.
Can anybody provide some help on this issue?

KM Navigation iView and long Greek folder names

We have a very serious problem. We are working in EP 6.0 SP2. Everything worked fine with patch 27 until we installed patch 30 to correct some other bugs. After patch 30, the KM navigation iViews with long folder names containing Greek characters, when we choose "Details" of a file, the iView ends with the error:

I must clarify that everything works fine if you go to that file through Content Administration --> KM Content.

If you ignore the greek letters, you will notice that the given startRID after a few letters lost the path but the ancestor didn't.
Can anybody help me because all our work depends on that?

We have the same problem, but without special characters.

How to pass the "path" dynamically to KM navigation iView ?

HI Experts.
This is my issue:
I have a WD Java iView, with a data table.
In the same page, I have a KM navigation iview too.
Conceptually, each row in this table, have some documents in a CM Repository asociated.
This repository has subfolders for each master data in the table.
(example: imagine a table with material master data, and a repository with a subfolder for each material,
and inside of it, several unstructure documents about this material.
Then, I need to call a KM Navigation iview when click a table row, passing parameters, in special the "path".
I am using this code in my action (triggered from webdynpro iview)
     WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute("ROLES://portal_content/com.stk.demos.folders.zz_demos/com.stk.demo.ch.TEST_CH/com.stk.demo.ch.Listar_Docs",

Partially it works, the window open and show the navigation iview, but...
in the root directory (or directory indicated in iView harcoded properties);
But I need pass the path !
How can I call that iView, dinamically using a parameter, the path (property ID: path)
to the KM navigation iView, in order to open initially in a indicated path?)

Hi Leandro,
You can create your own proxy IView and then redirect it to KM Navigation IView.
This way you can dynamically change the path.
