Knowing the time in a clip

I have videos from the same event, and I know the end time for each clip, but how can I find out the time for a given moment in the clip? I could do some arithmetic, and take the saved time for the clip, subtract its duration, then add the play head time, but I'm hoping there's a built in way I'm not noticing.
It would be nice to put down one long clip and then have shorter clips snap to the same timecode.

Unfortunately, that only shows the same information that is elsewhere on the screen. That is, you see the time from the start of the clip, and you see the date and time that the recording ended. I want to see the time of day for the frame I'm skimming over.
Suppose you had a long recording, from perhaps 7:15:12pm, that was an hour long, and you had other angle shots throughout the same period, that you want to switch to from time to time. How would you align part of a short clip that finished recording at 7:53:27pm? If there was something in particular at 7:47:13pm, I would have to subtract the duration of the long clip from its ending time, to work out what time 0:00:00 in the timeline represents, and subtract that from the ending time of the short clip, to then know where in the timeline the short clip should end. Once it's in the timeline I would then need to eyeball skim backwards looking for the right moment.
If I could point at the interesting moment in the long clip, and then point at the shorter clip, and see the time of day for each, I would very quickly be able to line them up.
It doesn't have to work that way, but do you understand the problem I'm trying to solve, and can suggest any way to solve it? At the moment I'm listening to the audio in the shorter clip, doing some arithmetic to get close, and then skimming the long clip to try and find the matching audio. It's taking a while!

How to know the time and date when someone empty trash?

someone delete very important videos on my mac PC , i need to know the time and date of what happens on my pc for 2 days ago to can know who delete these files and when the trash being empty

Open the Console app located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select System Log on the left.
Type trash in the search fileld top right corner of that window.
That should reveal the date and name of the file or files that were deleted but they cannot be extracted from there.

good question, but you state in your first post that you don't know much about LV (we all did once, truly) and then in the second post you mention large application. I need to warn you if you want to make a large applicatoin don't RELY on these forums. They are very usefull, but we can't do your work. If you want to do a large application AND you are a fresh labviewer attend some courses (basic I&II to learn LV and intermediate I to write large applications). And off course experience, experience experience.

Knowing the time of Process execution

I am executing a batch file in Java Code by using the following code,
Runtime r = Runtime.getRuntime();
p=r.exec("Dialup.bat ");
But some time while executing the batch file it hangs up.
I want to terminate that Process if it runs for more than 15 minutes.

At this point there is no way to know the execution time of a rule in calculation Manager . If you are working on Planning rules, I believe planning displays the execution time in its job console.

I seek your help/suggestion for the given scenario.
The user requires calculating the GI date based on time of delivery.
Based on the delivery priority (like Priority 1= Day 1, Priority 2= Day 2) maintained in customer master, the need is something like below-
1st case= If Retail Customeru2019s delivery orders received before midday (Noon cut off) require to be dispatched on same working day (Day 1)
Wholesaler customer delivery orders received before midday require to be dispatched by the next
Working day (Day 2 Including day of receipt)
2nd case= Retail customeru2019s delivery orders received after midday require to be dispatched by the next working day
Wholesaler customer delivery orders received after midday require to be dispatched by on day 3

What I proposed to do was,
a. Create routes like 0 day route, 1 Day route, 2 day route etc.
b. Route determination is based on the Shipping condition of the customer. Put in the shipping condition for the customer as 00 - immediate delivery. 01 - By Truck, 02 - By Rail, 03 - Ship etc
c. Now, put in your route determination in such a way that routes change in the sales order with shipping condition (SC). Like, if the shipping condition is set to 00, then 0 day route comes up. Meaning immediate delivery, if SC is 01, then your normal route by truck picks up. etc.
When the sales order is manually created, you know the time of creation. As route is one of the criteria, the material confirmation happens based on number of days you put in the route to reach the destination. Now that you have the material available for today's delivery, the delivery program can be run to create it, or it can be manually created.
Now, when you configure the route you have to specify 'Transit duration in calendar days'.
When you have the sales order created electronically (say thru EDI), then, you may have to ask them to send in shipping condition. Else, you have to modify the function module Idoc_input_orders in such a way that if the sales order creation time is < 12 PM, then put shipping condition as 00, else copy what ever is there in the customer.
If you do not want to check the time manually when the user creates the sales order, then you may have to use the user exit MV45AFZZ (and I think you can use Save_order_prepare) to check the time and change the shipping condition. By this you will avoid extra coding in Idoc_input_orders and also need not bother if the user changed the route or not.

Cant tell the time when reciving calls and iPhone is locked

here is the setuation .. it was middle of the night .. my iPhone is next to me .. i am in bed .. iPhone locks it self and goes to black screen .. i go to sleep .. some times later in the night, i get a phone call .. iPhone rings .. i pick it up .. its one of my co workers .. i can read his name .. BUT, i could not tell what time it wan when i picked my iPhone ... the clock up on the top is not visibale .. because the iPhone is locked .. so for a few seconds there, i did not know the time .. till i had to answer .. and belive me .. you need to know what time it is when someone calls you while sleeping .. as i am sure you all know, there is a sence of eargency to any call you recieve during your sleep ..!!
these little things should not be missed by Apple "Guines" enginers .. this bug needs to be fixed asap ..
However, if the iPhone is not locked .. and you do get a phone .. the clock will still be up there for you to see what time it is ... this bug only happens if your iPhone is locked .. then the clock will be replaced by the lock symbole .. iPhone not cool !!

I believe this is normal. When you hit the top button you are putting the phone into sleep mode. When you recieve and miss a call it will show up on your phone. If it is left untouched it will go back to sleep after awhile (depending on what your sleep settings are) However when you go back to your phone after being away from it, if you press either the top button (sleep/wake) or the bottom button (home) it should still show whether or not you recieved a missed call or text message.

Siri can't tell me the time.

When I ask Siri "What time is it", it replies, "Sorry [me], I don't know the time in 105 - 201 5 Ave W."
I don't understand why it can't simply look at the clock on the phone and tell me the time. As if this isn't frustrating enough, I can't even get a simple "Where is the nearest Starbucks" to work.... as it says Location in Canada are not supported.
If Siri simply uses apps on the device, why can't it use the "Maps" app, where I can type "Starbucks" and get the nearest one to me in a very short amount of time. This is very frustrating.
Is there anything that can be done to [at minimum] get Siri to tell me the time?

I have found this too, & yes, it is frustrating..
however, if you turn location services off for Siri, it can tell you the time & date, no problem.
I'm sure this is a bug & will be sorted as I have seen other mentions of it.
Also, this is still in 'Beta', i.e. not quite finished yet.
Apple have said that location based queries will come to places outside of the U.S. in time...

Welcome to the forum.
As Steve points out, that is "editing."
One can use either of two Tools in PrE, to Trim the Clip to suit.
First, one can Dbl-click on the Clip in the Project Panel to open it in the Source Monitor, which looks a bit like the Program Monitor, but it has the In & Out Point settings. When that Clip has been Trimmed, as needed in the Source Monitor, just drag it to the Timeline.
Or, one can drag the Clip to the Timeline, and then click+drag on the Head of the Clip to set its In Point, and on the Tail, to set the Out Point.

The time complexity of "Sort 1D Array"

Does anyone know the time complexity of "Sort 1D Array"? The document of this function does not say anything about that, so I write test VI to sort an array of 10000 integer elements. It seems that the excution time is less than 1 second, so I guess the complexity is O(n*logn). Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.

A few thoughts based on my recollection of that old coding challenge. There are different kinds of algorithmic approaches you may consider.
1. A simple approach to that challenge could involve a lot of search / lookup functions. Each time you parse a word, you perform a search to see if it's in your list already. If so, increment its count. If not, add it to the list with count=1.
This was far too slow for word counting large docs. Too many slow-ish searches. But pretty easy to implement and maybe good enough for smaller docs.
2. I pursued an approach that used hashing instead of searches. It *seemed* too slow, but some months after the challenge when I had another use for the core hash table functionality, I found a really dumb bug that I'd overlooked before. Fixing it improved the speed by something like 100x. (Missed one spot where I needed a shift register to enforce in-placeness).
This is largely the same approach, merely trying to speed up the lookup/search function via a more complex technique (hash tables). As I found out, the complexity makes it more bug-prone. Still, once fixed, lookup speed is in the order of constant with no clear dependency on the number of elements in the hash table. (Note: it *is* still dependent on the "fill ratio". You want enough memory available to size your table for maybe ~25% usage or less.)
3. One idea I tried out was to maintain a separate list of the 10 or 25 most-common words, sorted by count. (The main reason was that there could be a tie for 4th place at the end, and I wanted enough extra candidates around to get the correct tie-breaker result.) Each time I parsed another word and incremented its count, I'd check to see whether its new count qualified it to belong in the special most-common list. I still did a lot of lookup and sort stuff, but it was always on a very
