Knowledge Base user tracking & KB solution expiration

We are using eBus 11.5.10.2 on RHEL4
Our customer has the desire to track a logged in users actions for the number of searches they perform.
They would also like to track the "most clicked on" solutions.
They also want to set "expiration dates" on solutions so they would be able to come up for review for relevance (in query report form or other) and/or programatically disappear.
Is there something built into eBus that will enable either or all of these items?

Is there something built into eBus that will enable either or all of these items?AFAIK, there is nothing that comes by default with the installation that would provide you with the list of the above requirements -- Log a SR to confirm this with Oracle support.

  • How does solutions knowledge base works?

    Hi Experts,
    I created a new solutions knowledge base for item A and then i created a new service call for the item A also, but then when i clicked the button Recommend in the solutions tab in the service module the solutions knowledge base i just created for item A is not appearing in the recommendations list.
    Anyone can guide me how this solutions knowledge base works in the service module.

    If you love working with Muse, BC would enhance it  as it completes Muse. WYSIWYG Design area in BC would give you the ultimate convenience designing the pages or templates.

  • Cant search solutions in Knowledge base while creating SR

    I have a custom responsibility for customer support specialist (Custom Tech Support ) and I need the solutions in KnowledgeBase searchable, while creating the service request.
    I have the following defined:
    category security group - Custom Tech Support Group
    added the categories in which the solutions already exist.
    added the authoring flow.
    All the solutions/statements/categories have the visibility - EXTERNAL
    changed the following at responsibility level: Custom Tech Support
    Profile options :
    Knowledge: Assigned Category Security Group – Custom Tech Support Group
    Knowledge: Assigned Statement Visibility Level - Internal
    Knowledge: Assigned Visibility Level - Internal
    Knowledge: Default Solution Visibility Level - External
    Knowledge: Default Statement Visibility Level - External
    ----I have switched the visibility from internal to external, but still cant search the solutions in the knowledge base. In the search region I can see solution categories tab has something returned , but no result is retrieved under solutions tab.
    I am not sure where I have missed the step.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    On second thought, will a parser be able to interpret the HTML tags within my XML? For example, the answer tags contain paragraphs, line breaks, tables, etc using HTML tags.

  • Problem in creating a new knowledge base file

    Dear experts,
    I should like to create a new knowledge base file. I use the Oracle version 9.2 and the OS is Windows 2000. I have created the thesaurus with
    ctxload -user ctxsys/ctxsys -thes -thescase y -name DEFAULT -file xx.xx
    and the language setting:
    NLS_LANG=HUNGARIAN_HUNGARY.EE8MSWIN1250
    During the compile operation
    ctxkbtc -user ctxsys/ctxsys -name DEFAULT
    i get the following error message:
    DRG-52110: Error in writing extended knowledge base
    DRG-11101: drelcHU.dat open error
    Before the ctxkbtc command execution, I have created an empty directory for the expected .dat file:
    ctx/data/hulx
    with full control for every OS users.
    What is missing or false in the commands? Where could I learn more on this special topic?

  • Error in accessing Knowledge base  + oracle text 11g

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle text 11g.
    I had installed a knowledge base and it was working fine(bcos i was able to generate themes and gists), i wanted to load a 'default' thesaurus, i created a 'default' thesaurus and from cmd prompt i gave 'ctxload' command, then it asked for user(i logged in as ctxsys credentials), name (thes default),file( thes path), but after this i got below error
    connecting...

    ORA-00931: missing identifier
    disconnected
    unknowingly after this i gave 'ctxkbtc' command and proceeded further and i cancelled this action by closing cmd prompt.
    after this, now i am not able to create themes or gists, i am getting the below error while creating themes.

    You can try running ctxkbtc once more with revert option.
    -revert
    Reverts the extended knowledge base to the default knowledge base provided by
    Oracle Text.
    Make sure to set NLS_LANG variable before running it

  • Knowledge Base vs. thesaurus

    I'm comparing KB vs. thesaurus usage.
    The KB is a structure of themes - constituted of either single words or phrases. Relations are either hierarchical or generic.
    Usage occurs by ABOUT(<theme>).
    The thesaurus is a structure of terms - either single word or made up of a phrase. Relations are either hierarchical or generic, or related to synonyms. Usage occurs by several operators.
    From these definitions I would guess that:
    - these structures can almost represent the same data, indeed manuals explain how to extend the KB using thesauri.
    - the operator "ABOUT(<theme>)" should be equivalent to "<theme> OR NT(<theme>) OR RT(<theme>)"
    So the question is: why using a KB, provided that thesauri appear far more flexible ? Multiple thesauri can coexist, even for the same language. API are provided to edit them. On the other hand, the KB is an all-or-nothing precompiled structure, bound to English and French.
    What's wrong with this reasoning ? What do we gain while using a KB ?

    The Knowledge Base is not really a place to ask questions.  It is where NI empolyees create a white paper based on very often asked questions.  You have little to no interaction in there.  The forums are wide open for anybody to chime in.
    But I do like your idea that when searching the forums, a search in the KB is also done.

    I am struggling with two drawbacks after update and I am noz zhe only one:
    1 the wifi lower range in comparison to 10.2 os. There are more people complaining about this unpleasant drawback on crackberry.  For example:

    2, phone keeps vibrating after answering .. there is a delay 3 seconds and other side can hear my vibrating

  • What happened to these knowledge base articles?

    I work in the Information Technology infrastructure department of a medium-sized media company.  My employer still makes heavy use of Adobe Creative Suite 2, despite its age.  This is due to both compatibility and cost factors associated with upgrading all of our designers to new Macs with CS5.
    Frequently, our Adobe CSx users complain about being unable to modify server-side files in Photoshop because it reports that the files are locked.  The specific error they receive is "Could not complete the request because the file is locked".  In the past, I found the following Adobe Knowledge Base articles for the varoius releases of Photoshop:
    7.x - CS:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/322/322291.html
    CS2:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/332/332534.html
    CS4 - CS5:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406794.html
    All three articles were nearly identical to one another, with the only real difference being in the "products affected" section.  If you follow those URLs, you will find that only the last one for CS4 and CS5 is working.  We found that pointing users complaining of the file locked error in Photoshop was a massive help to our case that users should copy the files locally, modify them, then copy them back to the server.  Once they saw the words from the horse's mouth, they stopped bugging us about the problem or accusing us of not knowing what we were doing.
    Just today I had another CS2 user complain about this problem in Photoshop.  I went to give him the above URL for CS2, but decided to click the link first.  I found that it gave me a HTTP 404 "page not found" error.  I found the same thing with the 7.x - CS article.  As I said previously, we rely heavily on these knowledge base articles for backup on the information we were giving to the users on this issue.  We did not keep a PDF copy of the KB articles.
    I understand that the versions 7.x - CS2 are old, but I have located other CS2 knowledge base articles that are still up.  I have also discovered a Japanese language version of the CS2 article I am looking for that is still published (http://kb2.adobe.com/jp/cps/231/231270.html).  Does anyone know where I might find the missing KB articles?  Would it be possible for me to contact Adobe directly?  We do not have an active support agreement.

    Many of our users are not sophisticated enough to try to search vendor knowledge bases for solutions to their problems.  It seems almost everyone submits helpdesk tickets to us for every problem they experience.  We have previously explained that the problem is inherent in the product, but it was not until we supplied the actual knowledge base articles from Adobe that it quited the users down.  They simply did not believe us and assumed we were incompetent because we were not able to solve the problem for them.
    As for the CS4/CS5 link, thank you.  You are correct.  I had pasted them in from an old e-mail but the formatting was screwed up so I retyped them all manually and seem to have made a typo.
    The suggestion about keeping the KB articles offline now is a good one.  I thought of that already and did previously save a copy of the CS4/CS5 article as a PDF before I created this thread.  The suggestion of modifying the HTML of the CS4/CS5 article to include the other versions is also good one, and I will probably do that.  But I still wish I could somehow access the real KB articles.  As I said in my first post, we found that users hearing it from the horse's mouth was really the only way to get them to believe us in most cases.  Of course, maybe they won't know the difference with this custom PDF.  It just seems a bit dishonest and there is a small risk of being caught.
    I don't understand why Adobe would remove the articles for 7.x - CS2, even if they are old and not officially supported anymore.  Heck, CS2 was released in 2005 and there are Pagemaker articles still published and the last version of that was released in 2001.  What is laughable is that there is a link on the error pages to report a broken link, but if you click that all it does is take you to the normal support portal where there is no place to report broken links.
    In any case, I will create the custom PDF but if anyone has an archived copy of the missing KB articles or knows how I might be able to get them from Adobe, please let me know.  Thank you.

  • Knowledge Base Version Determination in Sales order in SAP CRM

    Hello everyone
    I am facing a problem where recently a Configurable Item's Variant Class was modified.
    After this we created a Knowledge Base Object & Run Time Version in ECC.
    This has correctly replicated to CRM & can be correctly simulated in the Product Workbench.
    However when I place a Sales Order, the IPC is still picking up the older Knowledge Base Object.
    So my question is how is the Sales Order Product configurator in CRM determines which Knowledge based object version to be used ?
    Note: The latest KBO which the Order should ideally use was created on the same day after abt an hour of the older one.
    Just in case the issue has anything to do with the dates.

    E-Commerce B2B design hinges on an assumption that the Contact Person (alias for the Logged in User)  has multiple Sold-Tos and one should pick the Sold-To for creating the order. That is, the application knows the Contact Person already and forces you to pick a Sold-To first. There is no partner determination per-se. It is hard-wired logic.  The following Business partners are set instead of being determined.
    <li>Contact Person - SU01 user alias etc.
    <li>Sold-To - Through Contact person to Sold-To relationship
    Remember, in CRM for the E-Commerce B2B to work, the logging in user (SU01 user) must be Internet enabled - aka - must have a Contact Person alias and the Contact person must have at least one Sold-To. And that is what is used in the above logic.
    The SAPGUI version gives ways to select and set the partners the way we want by way of the Partner determination procedure . However, these config changes are not automatically reflected in the Web world. You have to make a similar change in the sequence of determining the partner. Like, selecting the Ship-To first and then the Sold-To. That will be custom modification. :..-(
    A solution from10,000 foot level:
    Maintain a similar relationship for Contact Person to Ship-To in Business partner. Or more sleek way will be to develop a custom function module to get all the Ship-Tos of the Sold-Tos the Contact Person (SU01 user alias) is related to. - Custom ABAP + configuration work
    Change the standard E-Commerce flow to show a list of Ship-Tos as determined in the previous step. - Custom Java + application configuration work
    Determine the Sold-To automatically from Ship-To by whatever logic you use now. - ABAP + Java
    Set these new partners in the E-Commerce application.- Java
    Create orders and be happy
    (Usually there are several ways to skin a cat and this is just one of them)

  • SharePoint Knowledge Base

    I'm really struggling to find a solution for a Knowledge Base in SharePoint 2013.
    When I think "Knowledge Base"  I think of an application that allows the admins (and possibly other users) to post questions and answers for common problems.   Those questions/answers will be categorized and be searchable.
    Usually there is a list of most popular questions on the front page, as well as being navigable via the categories etc.
    I have used cloud based knowledge base solutions alot in the past (SafeHarbor for example), and written them from scratch in .Net, but I have searched and searched for a SharePoint based App or other solution for a SP Knowledge Base, and so far don't see
    anything that fits anywhere near those simple requirements.
    I have also researched using a SP Blog or Wiki, but they just don't quite cut it, and certainly aren't an out of the box solution.
    Any thoughts or ideas? I'm sure I'm overlooking something here.. Thanks.

    The key must-have features for a successful Knowledge Base (IMHO) are ease of adding KB articles, article review and article search. To this end, I believe the closest (Note, I said closest, not the best :) ) to this is Sharepoint Wiki Libraries.
    A Wiki Library is similar to a Document Library in that it contains documents.  The documents contained in the Wiki Library are web pages (.aspx).  These web pages allow you to create and customize content displayed in SharePoint sites.  The
    default page of the Team Site template is a wiki page.  Wiki pages may contain free-form content as well as web parts.  This allows you to create very simple to very elaborate browsing experiences for users.  Multiple wiki pages can together
    form some larger piece of enterprise content.

  • User tracking not finding any hosts in Ciscoworks LMS 3.1

    Ciscoworks LMS 3.1
    Ciscoworks Common Services 3.2.0
    Campus Manager 5.1.4
    We have 31 managed devices in Campus Manager (data has been collected on all),
    Edit: All of them show up green in the topology window.
    The device are: 2 6509 cores (running IOS s72033_rp-IPSERVICESK9_WAN-M version 12.2(18)SXF8), 1 ASA firewall (running ASA-OS version 8.0.5) and 29 switches (2960 and 3560 models both running ios version 12.2(52)SE). The switches are connected as follows:
    User tracking jobs are running normally, but aren't finding any end-hosts or IP phones at all (I suspect around 250-500 hosts+ on these switches)
    We are running SNMP v3 on the switches and have added the following configuration items to all the switches:

    I'm slowly getting to a dead end here. What am I missing?

    Well, our problem was resolved finally through a weird coincendence after having a websession with a Cisco TAC engineer (TAC case SR 613376661)
    We changed the
    snmp-server group readonly v3 auth context vlan-xxxx
    commands in the switches to:
    snmp-server group writeonly v3 auth context vlan-xxxx
    that is: use the writestring in the snmp-server groups instead of the read string.
    After we changed that, all of the User Tracking mysteriously started working.
    As far as I know, the writestring should not be needed, but apparently it is....
    Is there any explanation for this?

  • Error 6 even after installing the software from Knowledge Base

    I am sure this has been on here before but I cannot find it.
    I am building a wedding video, one main menu, two sub menus with 7 chapters each.
    Check project reveals all set to go.
    tried to use the software recommended in the knowledge base but my system already has the latest version installed.
    SItuation-
    Burning Mpeg 2 BluRay Max quality
    All assets include two timelines (Trancscoded at Max quality), 3 menus, one sound track for menu.
    Using Dell 690 Workstation
    Duel Xeon Quadcore 5455's
    Loaded 16 gigs of Ram but using three since XP32 SP3
    Sony Blu-ray burner (other burner disabled)
    7TB's of Hard drive attached to system. 5 on board Drives and 4TB through Esata. System drive 10000RPM WD Rap.
    have Avid Media composer on this System too (If those drivers could be of issue and Sonic Scenarist (This project does not need that power)).
    Also Several conversion apps Sorrenson, TMPGEnc, Procoder, AVS Video converter. (Driver issues interfering?).
    Never produced a wedding video as my line is Football but did a 5 camera HD shoot (also shot some Super 8 footage upconverted to HD) for nephew as a wedding present. Sending him a Blu-
    Ray Samsung player with the video this week if I can get it on the Disc.
    Could start over with Sonic DVDit HD or Scenarist but spent last night building this encore job.
    ERROR 6 I could use a little help on this one please.

    I actually spoke to an employee at Park Av (Adobe headquarters) in San Jose this morning through a friend in the industry who added her on (There is someone there all the time he said).
    The simple fix according to her is just the cause that was in your link, it comes from transferring assets in and out. I had done that and the replacement cued up the error 6. There are other error 6's generated but that was the first question she asked.
    Anyway I really appreciate the response.
    Actually writing the disc now with just a few gigs to go on the Test Copy.

    The domain administrator made a mistake in specifying the details in DC,i just added,I have less windows knowledge,where to find the logon scripts files for step 3 in windows 2003 server.as per the campus manager user guide .
    Edit the UTLiteNT.bat file:
    a. Open the UTLiteNT.bat file.
    b. Locate the following line and replace domain and ipaddress with the domain name of the Windows
    domain controller and IP address of the computer running the Campus Manager server:
    start %WINDIR%\UTLite33 -domain domain -host ipaddress -port 16236
    If port 16236 is already in use, enter a different number. This port number must match the number
    that you entered in the Use Port Number field, in the User Tracking > Administration >
    Acquisition > Acquisition Settings page.
    For more details, see Modifying Acquisition Settings, page 7-10.
    Step 3 Edit the logon script files to run the UTLiteNT.bat file when users log into the network by adding this

  • LMS4.1 user tracking not sortable

    in LMS 4.1, under Monitor->Identity Dashboard, i have "user tracking summary" as a portlet, which tells me i have ~ 17,000 users.  when i click the report, it pops up a screen that shows mac address, ip address, hostname, subnet, etc.
    If i try to do ANY filtering, it returns 0 records.  this could be from a specific IP, mac address, device name, or subnet.  i have tried every type of record.  every filter i attempt always ends with 0 records returned, even though in the unfiltered list they show up.  It would be problematic to manually sort through 17,000 users looking for the particular records i need without the ability to use the filter.
    can anyone provide an example of how to filter the User Tracking report? is there some feature in LMS i don't own or have enabled to allow this filtering?

    I can't disagree with your logic, I guess I just assumed such an enterprise solution (that is FAR from cheap) wouldn't require an export of my close to 20,000 records to a .csv in order to do simple sorting.
    I will continue to look for a solution within the application, but if worse comes to worse i guess an export could suffice for some of what i'm trying to do.
