Kp26 and KSPI

1.Is planning under KP26 is manual planning of activity quantities. Then how do we do automatic planning.
2.you can also use indirect activity allocation to plan activity quantities automatically under : Indirect Activity Allocation-how do we do that.
3.Is KSPI optional -i mean if i dont use KP26

Dear,
1) KP26-Activity Planning
2) KP06-Cost element Planning
3) KSPI- Price calculation
In KP06 we are planning input based on primary cost element. Sametime in KP26 we are planning the capacity based on secondary cost element.
The activity rate will be calculated only based on your secondary element. While creating an Activity type you will be assigning a secondary cost element in the master data, which will capture the cost during confirmation of order. Hence the planning cost by logic will also captured from the secondary cost elements only.
In KP06 u have to give ur COST ELEMENT and COST CENTER, in KP26 we have to give Activity Type rate for perticural time period say year  and  they are assign to the COST CENTER
KSPI is use to get average of planned price
Hope it will help you.

  • KP26 and KPSI

    Hi,
I know we can use transaction KPSI in CO module to transfer the schedule activity to the planned activty but I would like to know if there is a transaction to do the opposite (planned activity to the scheduled activity) or if we can modify manually the scheduled activity ?
    I search that because :
    - Users have made the PLT
    - I have executed the transaction KPSI
    - They have modified manually the planned activity after and not the scheduled activity because they can't.
If the two activities are not equal, they can not calculate price correctly.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Regards,
    Flora

    Ajay,
They don't want to re-execute LTP because they don't have change the quantity, they change only the planned activity.
And in KP26, we can't change manually the schedule activity because it is not accessible.
Do you have an other solution ?
    Thanks,
    Flora

  • Calculating Planned Prices

    Hi,
Can any one pls explain what is the exact function of T Codes KP06 and KP26 and KSPI.
I have planned quantities for the cost elements and activity wise, after that I have entered the price for that particular activity in KP26, and then I calculated the planned price using the TCode KSPI, and then I have run the KP96 ( activate integrated planning) to transfer the planned values to the cost centers.
Is this the right path?, please guide me. How does the price will be calculated in KSPI and please explain me what is "Total Value in report currency" and "Total Fixed and variable quantity"

  • Activity prices in KP26 used for actual and plan in version 0

We plan activity prices via KP26 in version 0. We then plan activity consumption via KP06, and run the plan reconciliation via KPSI.
During the year, we need to update the activity prices used in actual activity allocation. This price also comes from version 0.
When we change the activity price, the planned amounts change also. We are looking for a way to maintain a separate price for actual activity allocation.

    Ajay,
Your answer definitely sent me down the right path...thank you!
For other's benefit, these are the steps I took to make this work:
    1) set the "Purely Iter. Price" indicator in plan version 0
    2) import planning layout 1-N01 from client 000 (OBKF)
    3) add planning area "Cctr: Manual actual prices" to planning layout SAPALL (KP34)
    4) add planning layout 1-N01 to planner profile SAPALL (KP34)
    5) create and run custom program from note 551309 to add cost element field to the input screen in KBK6 (SE38)
    6) transport planning layout for planning area "Cctr: Manual actual prices" (OKEX)
Now we can plan a price in KP26, and maintain a different price in KBK6 which is used in the actual activity allocation.
    Thanks again,
    Linda

  • Difference between KP06 and KP26

    Hi,
Could anyone explain me when to use KP06 and when to use KP26 and the basic technical difference between these two transaction codes.
    Regards,
    DSK

    Hi,
KP06 is used to plan the primary costs (cost elements). You can do it activity dependent or independent. KP26 is used to enter prices to activity types which will then cause cost allocation via secondary cost elements while psoting figures on those activity types.
Refer to this link for further info:

  • What is the activity quantity in KSII and how is it arrived

    Hi,
Could any body help me to understand what is the activity quantity in KSII. How will we arrive at the figure we get when we run KSII.
I know the that we would be giving theplanned cost in KP06, planned activity quantity in KP26 and then when we run the price calculation in KSPI we get the total price for the cost center and the activity type. This is what is the planned total price for a period.
I am unable to understand the differece between the planned and the standard cost. Please help me with an example.
Standard cost is planned cost * actual hours,  correct me if I am wrong.
    Please assist,
    Regards,
    Shilpa.

    Hi Shipla ,
    You have two questions :-
    1. How to get activity quantity in KSII
KSII is actual price calculation . Actual Price = Actual Cost/ Actual Qty..
Actual quantty is derived from quantity confirmed in production/process order and direct activity allocation done to the cost center . If you see a Cost Center Plan/Actual variance report.. you can see the actual quantity booked in a process Order . Actual Cost is the cost booked into the cost centers ..from FI/CO /IO settlement etc ..
During Actual costing , activity costs are generally booked at plan rate ( KP26). In KSII , actual price is computed and the difference is allocated to the cost centers.
    2. Standard cost is planned cost * actual hours
No , plan cost is the cost you have planned for the year . You can use the plan cost to create a cost estimate . This cost estimate can be used as standard cost or for any anaylsis purpose..
Always remeber that purpose of product cost planning is to compute product cost estimate . This estimate may be used as standard costs.
    Hope it clarifies..

  • KP26 understanding

    Hi:
I have understood the process of KP06 now i am on to KP26. I have gone through Google but could not find any helpful material that could satisfy my queries. In KP26 we give cost center and then assign an activity type to it , give in plan activity and save, now what next...What system does when we have planned values in KP26 and what is the step next to it. I am not conceptually clear about KP26 usability. Request experts to guide me...
    Regards
Moderator: No need to go through Google for this point; help.sap.com should be sufficient

    Hi Farooq,
KP26 is used in product costing and cost center accounting and has two perspectives.
    1. Product costing : When production is confirmed in the PP module (through CO11N) by the production person, the conversion cost (eg machine hour cost) is debited to the production order and credited to the cost center. The amount debited is equal to quantity (of machine hours) multiplied by cost per machine hour. This cost/ activity unit is mentioned in KP26 for every combination of costcenter and activity type. As explained above this is further used in automatic price calculation of activities using KSPI,KSII etc.
    2. As explained in point 1, when production is updated cost center is credited with the amount as explained. The cost center is derived from the work center used and rate  from KP26. This is used to analyse cost center over and under absorption.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards

  • KP26 Planned Actvity

    Dear All,
Can you let me know what is the use of Planned activity / Capacity in KP26  and also Price(fixed) and Variable, etc and how it influence while executing the transaction( Cost Extimation).
How the system makes the calculation. explain with an example.
Also let me know the difference between KP26 & KP06 , I am bit confussed between KP26 and KP06.
    Regards,

    Dear Ranjan,
    Thanks for the reply.
Can you let me know the below mentioned points.
I have a Cost Center : Labour Cost  and Activity as Labour.
I have asigned the cost center and Activity in KP26 with a plan price indicator 1
In Plan activity column i have given 15000 and in variable price column i have given 2500 for 100 units.
When i am executing kspi, the system is displaying Activity Qnty :80000 Total price :2425 and variable price 2425 for 100 units for the current period(also to all previous periods).
Now what is this 80000 units, from where it has updated and why the price is changed to 2425 from 2500(given in KP26).
Also let me know how can i find the cost element for KP06 from KP26 details.
When i am providing the the above combination along with the cost element (which is in KP26) to KP06 system is prompting an error as "Cost element xxxxxxxx can only be used for activity input".
    Kindly suggest.

  • Activity Price thru KP26 & KP06

I want a clarification regarding activity price calculation:
    - I know that we can manually enter the activity quantity and variable/fixed rates in kP26.  If that is the case, what is the purpose of quantity that is entered in KP26 ?
    - Other way, we can plan the cost element in the cost centre and later on maintain the quantity in KP26 and do the KSPI (plan run) and the system will calculate the prices.  In this case, I hope, system will be calculating the fixed price only.  What about the variable price then ?

    hi nikitha..
I am really confused to see the various comments on this issue. Basic requirement is to calculate fixed & variablr price after KSPI run
If you follow the steps below your purpose will serve:
KP06      1-101     Cost Centre Planning - element planning (Fixed value & Variable Value)
1-102     Activity Distribution to findout Fixed/Variable Price
if both are required paln Variable quanty
              otherwise Fixed qty
KP26      1-201     Activity Planning (Activity qty)
You have to use both the layout in KP06 & remember the total activity qty you have planned in KP26 that should match you activity distribution in KP06 (1-102 layout)
    thanks

  • The purpose of the Variable price column in KP26

    Hi,
We are updating the time sheets from Non-Sap to  Sap. We are in need of entering the activity prices.
We have given the planned activity in Kp26 and have run a price calculation in KSPI.
When we run the KSPI, we get the fixed price column filled with the planned price i.e, if my planned total cost in Kp06 is 100 and my planned activity type in KSPI is 10, then my activity price is 100/10=10 and this is updated in fixed price column.
I just want to know about the variable price column with an example.
For the actuals we are supposed to fill KBK6 with the actual activity price and have to run a price calculation in KSII.
Is it any how possible to give the actuals in KP26 instead of giving the same in KBK6.
We have this chaos because earlier for 2009 they have not maitnained the actuals either in Kp26 and in Kbk6.
    Please assist
    Thanks,
    Shilpa.

    Hi Shilpa
KP26 is meant for Plan price... and KBK6 for actual prices... You can not use one for the other
You will use Variable and Fixed costs when you have scenario of semi variable costs where some portion of expense is fixed and some is variable.....

  • RKP2 and RKP3 - Planning activities by cost center

    Hi people,
I'm having a problem with planning in activity-based costing. I planned an activity in a cost center, executed transaction KP26 and then the transaction CP06. The plan is executed, but when i see Line items, for CO plan documents, i see that system created two documents, one with the object RKP3, which debit the activity and credit the cost center. This is what is supposed, but when i checked the cost center, the value was again debited, which used object RKP2, with just one debit in the cost center.
My question is: why system restore the value that i wanted to distribute from the cost center to activity, first correctly in RKP3 and then (not supposed..), in RKP2.
    Thanks for the help.
    Cumps.

Cost Centres are for planning costs.
Revenue is planned on a Profitability Segment, Sales order which has been enabled for costing, or WBS or Internal order which has been enabled to receive revenue.
BTW, Profit centres are not CO objects, which is why you need one of the above. Alternatively you can create your Revenue accounts as GL accounts only, then you don't need the cost objects.

  • CO transaction and entries in the table

    Hi,
I want to delete a record in KP26 and I am getting an error "costs already posted on this cost center/activity type combination.
After investiging I found that there are entries in tables COKA, CSSL and COSSA. So, how can get rid of these entries in these table and delete the activity type planning record for the cost center in KP26
    Thanks,
    Ravi.

Once you updated with a plan data, it is hard to delete. You may be better off creating a new activity type.
Or else look at options of KP90 or KP91. This could delete entire planning data.

    Hello,
I do not think that COEP contains the plan line items*. For plan line items it is COEJ. But as suggested by Christian the better option in case you want to create a report is you use COSS/COSP and COST. The latter is for activity type planning (KP26) and the other two are for cost planning (KP06).
The transactions to view the plan document is KABP and line items is KSBP.
    * Christian, do correct me if I'm wrong. I was not able to see anything with value type 01 in COEP.
