Labview 7.1 executable can't find mysql vi's

Hi,
I have a labview executable that was developed using Labview 7.1. It calls many vi's for mysql. The mysql vi's are in 2 or 3 LLB's. The program was compiled on a lap top and installed on a desktop computer with Windows XP. The program works great. Using the same installer I put it on a second desktop computer also running Windows XP. When I try and run the executable on the second computer, I get several error 21 messages about missing mysql vi's.
I have compared all the LLB and dll's and they are all seem to be the same version and located in the same directories. Also, I took the executable from the first computer and copied it onto the second computer. When I tried to run it, I got the same result.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

  • Moved the "Connections" folder, now Dreamweaver CS3 can't find MySQL connection...

    Hi,
Dreamweaver creates a "Connections" folder in the site root
where all database connection files are stored. I want to move this
folder to another path but then DW can't find the connection (for
    example in admin/includes/Connections).
How can I tell DW the new path of the "Connections" folder so
I can still use DW extensions to find all available database
    connections?
    Thanks!

  • MySQL can't find mysql.sock

    Hi guys,
I have a very frustrating problem. I have tried everything to fix it and I have ran out of ideas as to what the problem might be.
I have had mysql running for 1 week without a problem. Yesterday I had to reboot my server. After I rebooted, mysql gave me the following error:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
I checked various solutions and none worked for me.
To solve it I tried the following:
    * Delete the Mysql folder, restarted the service from Server Admin, Server Admin created the mysql folder again but Mysql still wasn't working.
    * Check the location of the mysql.sock file on my.conf. It's pointing correctly to /var/mysql/mysql.sock.
    * Check the permissions of the Mysql folder. They are all correct.
    * Tried to restore the folder with a backup I had on time machine (I know that you shouldnt backup DB with time machine, but I just wanted to get the service working).
    * I tried to manually run the service and I had no luck.
The error console shows nothing useful, it just says:
    2009-11-17 13:44:47 America/Mexico_City MySQL daemon started.
2009-11-27 14:50:52 America/Mexico_City [E] MySQL: timed out waiting to launch mysql without grant tables.

    2009-11-27 16:12:45 America/Mexico_City MySQL daemon stopped.
Anyone having the same problem? I really find it quite frustrating that it stopped working after a reboot. I can't understand what happened.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Because the .sock file isa unix domain socket. This is normally not available on other OS's. So, the sock is platform dependent, and Java, at least usually, does not support strictly platform dependent features, you can not use it (at least not using the standard API's). If you search, real hard, you may find some hacks to do so, but they are exactly that, hacks.

I believe that by your action, you removed the compatability VIs and it would appear that the Find Examples used the older queue functions that require the compatability VIs. I would suggest you revert back to the LLBs that were distributed with 6.1. The new queue functions are there for you to use in new development and older VIs won't be broken. You could also make a request to NI support to see about an updated Find Example that uses just the new VIs.

  • Stand-Alone application with LabView 7.0 getting error can't find DAQmx clear task.vi

I have attempted to create a stand alone vi with the Build Application or Shared Library(dll) in LabVeiw 7.0
When I put it on another PC to test it I get the error "can't find DAQmx clear task.vi"
the other PC has Labview 7.0 and DAQmx 8.1 also.
I believe my problem is in the source tab where you are supposed to add support and dynamic vi's I have search the forums and Ni's data base and have not found a solution.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi LabTech09,
When you run the executable on the other computer is when you get this error?  Do you have the exact same versions of LabVIEW and DAQmx on both computers?  Does the dialog allow you to navigate to the DAQmx clear task.vi?  If so, you can find these VIs in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\vi.lib\DAQmx\configure\task.llb.  Does the executable work on the development machine (the machine it was compiled on)?

  • Installing of LabVIEW runtime is cause of InTouch can't find its licenses

    Hello All.
I need to run executable built with LabVIEW from Wonderware InTouch 2012 runtime. But If I install LabVIEW runtime to the target PC, InTouch runtime can't find its licenses and run in Demo mode only. When I uninstall LabVIEW runtime InTouch can find licenses again and operates in normal mode. Licences for InTouch consists of files on the hard drive and software protection dongle of unknown type, connected to USB port. I have tried LabVIEW runtime versions 2012, 2012f3 and 2013, installed from standalone distributions or with distribution of application built with LabVIEW, no differences. What can be cause of conflict? What can I try to do to run InTouch runtime and LabVIEW application simultaneously?

Have you verified if this behavior is present in other computers?
No, I have only 2 PCs for tests, both new and identical in hardware and software. I'm sure I will get same result on both.
Have you tried changing the port at which you connect the USB key?
    Yes.
Did you restart the computer after installing the LabVIEW RTE?
    Yes.
Have you tried installing the LabVIEW RTE before installing the Wonderware software?
    Yes.
Can you access other USB keys when you have the LabVIEW RTE install or does all USB communications fail?
I have another software protection dongle for InTouch. I've  tried it, it doesn't work too. USB in general is working (HID, USB flash drives, USB HDD).
Have you received any troubleshooting steps from Wonderware? Please let us know.
Wonderware support engineers sent me test license file which not require USB dongle. With this license file InTouch operates in normal mode when LVRT is installed. But it is impossible to use such license in production.

    Hello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.

  • Where can I find example LabVIEW VIs for the NI-USRP?

There are several sources of example LabVIEW VIs for the NI USRP:
We have established a NI Community "NI USRP Example LabVIEW VIs" where you can find example VIs from us (NI) and the community.
The NI-USRP driver installs a variety of example VIs to the to the following folder on your PC:
    <LabVIEW Installation path>\examples\instr\niUSRP
where you should replace <LabVIEW Installation path> with the root folder of your local LabVIEW installation. For instance, my Windows 7 32-bit PC here has LabVIEW 2011 installed and the examples can be found here: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\examples\instr\niUSRP
I've installed the NI-USRP driver, but I can't seem to find the new examples in the LabVIEW Example Finder. Where are the example LabVIEW VIs installed by the NI-USRP driver?
Although the NI-USRP driver does indeed install examples, the current NI-USRP 1.1 release does not update the LabVIEW Example Finder with entries for these examples. To find the examples, you can navigate the Windows Start Menu to the following location:
    Start Menu\Programs\National Instruments\NI-USRP\Examples
This Start Menu entry includes several Shortcuts that point to folders that are the home to example VIs.

  • Where can I find an example of a vi which reads a xml file using the Labview schema (LVXMLSchema.xsd)?

Where can I find an example of a vi which reads a xml file using the Labview schema (LVXMLSchema.xsd)?
Unflatten From XML is of little use in parsing because it requires the data type. So it seems that the user has to parse each data value, and then Unflatten From XML can help a little.
I would like to see NI provide a VI for parsing its own schema.

LabVIEW's XML functions are another way of saving data from controls and indicators that is in a more standardized format. If you look at the Unflatten From XML shipping example, it shows taking the data that you would normally send to a Digital Wveform Graph and converting it to XML instead. This data is then unflattend from XML and wired to the graph. Since you know what you wrote to the file, this is an easy thing to do. If what you are looking for is a way to look at any data in any LabVIEW XML file, then you are right, there is not a VI for that. However, I do not believe that that was the intention of the XML functions in the first place.
By wiriting data in XML, this allows other applications outside of LabVIEW to parse and recognize the dat
    a. In LabVIEW, you would already know the types and can place a generic item of that type. The issue of knowing the type is that you need to know the type of the wire that comes out of the Unflatten function so that the VI will compile correctly. You could always choose a variant value to unflatten and then do some parsing to take the variant a part. Maybe this will help you out.
See this example for using the Microsoft parser for XML. (http://venus.ni.com/stage/we/niepd_web_display.DISPLAY_EPD4?p_guid=B123AE0CB9FE111EE034080020E74861&p_node=DZ52050&p_submitted=N&p_rank=&p_answer=)

  • Where can I find VI Description & usage for VIs in Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\vi.lib\variable

In the the said folder are many VIs.  They are all part of the NI_Variable.lvlib.    However there is no help or description (context help just shows the terminals and names) for many of these VIs.  Where can you find more 'help' on these VIs, the block diagram is password protected.

    Hi phillman,
If there is no detailed help in the LabVIEW help, or on ni.com, you will probably need to ask about specific VIs for more detailed information. I would first search the LabVIEW help and the website, however.
Let me know if you have specific VI questions!

  • Where can I find the old 2D and 3D Industrial Controls that were sold as an option in early LabVIEW. The ones with pipes and pumps, etc.

Just to add to Paul's answer, the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (LV DSC) still distributing the libraries. After installing, you can go to 'Tools' menu and under the DSC Module, you can find the "Image Navigator" which launch the UI to choose the pictures.

  • Can't find Application Builder after installing AB 7.0 in a LabView 7.1 system

Hello, I just installed applivcation Builder 7.0 on my windows desktop (XP, SP2) that has already installed a Labview 7.1. But nothing happens...I just can't find it. Not on "Werkzeuge" (Tools) or anywhere else in the application.
Only in the explorerI can find Labview7.0\Applibs...
    I reinstalled it 3 times now...what else can I do ?
or does the Application Builder 7.0 not work with LV 7.1 ?
    any help would be appreciated
    regards
    fluxgate

No, it does not work. You need the 7.1 app builder. If you had purchased the 7.0 app builder separately (and not as part of the profession version), when you did the upgrade to 7.1, you should have requested the 7.1 app builder. Since 7.1 is no longer sold by NI, I'm not sure how you can get the correct app builder. You should contact NI directly or your local field engineer.
