Labview+Access application low performance

Hi all
I am developing an application in Labview and MS Aceess.
In this,there is a module to plot graph and it is a multipolot graph,there may be arount 18 plots.
All plots are taking data from the same table.
The system takes a long time to fetch records.
In fetching monthly data there may be around 3500+ records in a particular month and tere may be more than 100000 records in the table..I have written query to select record in the particular month only.Still the user has to wait a long time to get response.
Is there any solution for this?
Thanks.......

Hello:
The slow performance may be caused by many issues. An slow PC, a non optimized VI. The number of records should not be a big problem. How long does it take to respond?
Have you tried to index the table?
Could you post your VI to see what can we improve?

  • Setting up the "Directory Access" application

    I was just looking at the "Directory Access" application, and noticed some services enabled by default (AppleTalk, Bonjour etc).
    I'm not using AppleTalk or Bonjour, so would it be useful to switch these off? (for security reasons or performance).
    Can I maybe safely switch off the other three services as well? (I dont use the computer for any file sharing, by the way).
    Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

    Hi, interesting questions, Bonjour is indeed a Hog, I'd give it a try, since you know how to change it.

  • JSPDynPage and PageProcessorComponent low performance

    Hi all,
    We are having troubles with the implementation some JSP applications in EP 6.0 SP2.
    We have used "PageProcessorComponent" as the main class for the Component, and JSPDynPage for the class to invoke the jsp pages.
    The applications work fine but too slow compare to other componentes that use "AbstractPortalComponent" and
    IResource form = request.getResource(IResource.JSP, "pagelet/form.jsp");
    response.include(request, form);
    To invoke the jsp Page.
    Why is it possible this low performance in runtime?
    Thank you

    DID you try this approach
    package com.cts.anand;
    import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.*;
    public class BeanDyn extends PageProcessorComponent {
      public DynPage getPage(){
        return new BeanDynDynPage();
      public static class BeanDynDynPage extends JSPDynPage{
        public void doInitialization(){
         public void clientSave(Event event) {
              //client event
        public void doProcessAfterInput() throws PageException {
        public void doProcessBeforeOutput() throws PageException {
          this.setJspName("Jsp_filename.jsp");

  • LabView code module to perform simple pass/fail *IDN? query?

    LabView 7.1, TestStand 3.1, NI PCIGPIB board controlling a communications service monitor and a power supply. I'm having problems with my application sync correctly between the service monitor and GPIB board. I suspect the driver. Does anyone have a simple LabView code module to perform a *IDN? with a partial (in case they change firmware versions)string comparison that I can use in a TestStand seq. At this point if failure I could pop-up and tell operator to abort test and reboot instrument. (only way I've found to clear the buffer). Note: At times this app works fine and is inconsistant in failure times/rates.
    Sorry so wordy and thanks in advance.
    Using LabVIEW 2010SP1 and TestStand 4.5

    Thanks for the reply Craig.
    I've found I can perform a *IDN? using the Instrument I/O Assistant.vi. Ive placed this on a new block diagram and am changing it as I need. I've found in this particular case the *IDN? yields 3 tokens one of which I can use to perform a string comparison on. This will give me a boolean which I can wire to the pane for use by TestStand.

  • LabView 2010 application runs twice as slow in Windows 7

    When our company mandated the replacement of Windows XP PC's, my LabView test application that was compiled in LabView 2010 runs over twice as slow on a Fujitsu Esprimo E710E86+ machine. The application uses a GPIB USB - HS adapter to control an HP 4285 Impedance analyzer whose signals are switched to it using two (2) SCXI chassis that contains five (5) SCXI-1193 switch modules. This chassis uses the USB-1359 communicator.
    On the Windows XP machine that is being replaced (a Dell Optiplex 960), a typical set of measurements takes around 40 seconds to complete. The new Windows 7 machine takes about 100 seconds to do the same set of measurements. Has anyone noted this increase in test time???
    Thank you.

    Hello Rod,
    Before updating to LV 2013 I'd recommend isolating what components are causing the slowdown or at least trying to eliminate some of the variables - right now there's a new PC, new OS, new physical connections, and perhaps even new hardware, so figuring out which of these is causing the slowdown should be the first order of business.  I've seen issues simlar because USB devices were switched around to different (built-in) ports on the same machine.
    A few things to check:
    -What does this application do?  Are you doing any intensive data manipulation or is this mostly a call-and-response type application?
    -What does your system resource utilization look like on the two machines?  In either case, are you using more or less RAM on one machine or railing one or more CPUs?
    -Do you see the same sort of performance hit on a Windows 7 installation on an Optiplex or similar machine?
    -Did you change drivers when you upgraded to Windows 7?
    -What NI driver version(s) are/were you using?
    -Does this application log data data to disk or perform any network operations?
    -Have you attempted recompiling the 2010 executable on "new" hardware?  The LabVIEW compiler will optimize for the platform it is being built on and it seems highly likely that the Dell and Fujitsu machines have different processors.  As a note I've never seen recompiling in this fashion result in a 100%+ speedup.
    -Have you taken a look at the machine's I/O traces to see how long the acquisition itself takes?
    -Have you tried moving the USB connections to different ports?  Most desktop PCs nowadays have one hub on the front and one on the back of the machine, although I'm not familiar with Fujitsu desktops.  If the adapters you are using or anything else on the machine is forcing a USB 2.0/3.0 port to 1.0 or something this could be a factor.
    Regards,
    Tom L.

  • Unable to access applications in workspace,shared services

    Hi ,
    I am Unable to access applications in workspace and shared services on EPM 11.1.1.3. It happened after normal shutdown/startup scripts were run.
    But when I reconfigure the Weblogic web server and run the services again I can access the applications.This is happening frequently now.
    Is this anything related to user profiles on the server as we are migrating these to other server.
    Can any one help me with this .

    You must first check if you have configured the web server to include the hfm/planning products.
    Then you can refer to the thread below:
    Not able to see Consolidation Administration
    The latter definitely applies to version 9.3.1, but it could be helpful.

  • Error occurred while accessing application id Excel services application unattended service account from secure store service

    Hi,
      I follow up the book "Professional SharePoint 2013 Administration" to build the SharePoint 2013 BI include Excel Services. and created the Secure Store services to save the user SP_Install for member.
    For Now, I can upload the worksheet and open it in browser, but when I tried to refresh it, the SP 2013 show error "Error occurred while accessing application id Excel services application unattended service account from secure store service".
     does anybody can help ? and do I need to turn on C2WTS ?
    Thanks
    James Liang

    Hi James,
    Excel Services can be used with Secure Store in three primary scenarios:
    Unattended Service Account
    Embedded Connections
    External Data Connections
    If you haven't configure unattended service account yet, you could refer to the article below:

  • Issue with Enterprise Library's Data Access Application

    I do not know if I have the correct forum for this post. I hve put it in what I believe is the most likely best forum, but please move this if there is a more germane forum for it.
    I have inherited a solution (C#) which uses the reference Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data. The reference was included with the codebase I inherited, there are no missing references.
    When the library is called with:
    Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.ExecuteDataSet("configConfigurationKeysSelect", parameterValues);
    It complains with the runtime error:

    This is true, there IS no stored procedure  'configConfigurationKeysSelect'  but there is a table named  'configConfigurationKeys.'

    Why do you assume that a stored procedure is create on the fly?  Looking at the documentation for this component, I don't see a mention of such.

  • Macbook Pro mid 2012 HDD clicking and low performance

    Hello, everybody!
    I have a question about the HDD, I think it's failing or it's very close to failing.
    From the moment I bought my Macbook Pro 13" mid 2012 model I noticed quite low performance and also very disturbing sound of the HDD clicking, even when I don't touch the laptop. Running Disk Utility check and Apple Diagnostics became my favorite pastime, but it showed no sign of HDD (or other kind of) failure.

    Also I've noticed that the disk read operation takes more than (I believe) it should. For example, when I turn the laptop on and it was in the hibernation mode, it restores quite quickly and shows the login screen, but it's actually impossible to enter anything there, it just doesn't respond to keyboard or mouse input. By the time the login screen times out I am still unable to enter anything, and it goes back to sleep, and the story repeats.
    More to it, most of the apps take ages to start. Preview starts in 5-10 seconds.
    I thought it shouldn't be a software problem, since I formatted the drive and installed a fresh copy of OS X just two weeks ago.
    So I went to the reseller I bought it from (Compustore here in Germany) and asked to check the laptop. They did, and told me everything was fine with it.
    Is it indeed the normal behavior of Macbooks? I don't have anything to compare to, it's my first Mac, but I'm really far from being satisfied with it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thank you in advance for any suggestions,
    Elijah.

    Is it indeed the normal behavior of Macbooks?
    No, of course not. It is very abnormal and the reseller's conclusion that everything is fine is obviously incorrect.
    I have no explanation for the fact that Apple Diagnostics nor Disk Utility indicates a fault, but if the problem remained unchanged after taking the extreme measure of completely erasing the hard disk and installing OS X as you explained, then the only remaining cause is a hardware fault that has eluded all attempts to detect it.
    I formatted the drive and installed a fresh copy of OS X just two weeks ago.
    Confim the problems remained immediately after those actions and prior to installing any other software. The most common explanation for the behaviour you describe is the presence of any number of ill-conceived "anti-virus" or "cleanup" utilities.
    If you described the problem and your attempts to rectify it accurately, then the reseller did not perform adequate diagnostic testing, or they are being deliberately deceitful, or they are simply incompetent.

  • Bridge CS3 on opening: "This Application may perform badly"

    I recently restored my PC to factory condition to troubleshoot performance problems in CS3 Production Premium. I reinstalled all my programs, but it got a little messy when I restored my backup files from an external hard drive. Lots of files ended up in different locations and some were duplicated.
    I wanted to use Bridge to try to reorganize everything, but I get this message when opening Bridge:
    "This application requires an Intel 4 Pentium Celeron, Intel Core Duo or Intel Core 2 Compatible processor (C01/6/5895)"
    and
    "This application may perform badly. Are you sure you want to continue?"
    I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit on a 2-month old HP Pavilion d5000t desktop with an Intel Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.66GHz and 8GB RAM which should exceed the minimum requirement.
    What should I do? Performance on my PC is still not good. Premiere opens without a message, but is sluggish; Encore freezes; forget about After Effects.

    And or course the fact that the restore of the backup was "a little messy"
    may not bode well--it's possible some files were restored that should not
    have been and that parts of the OS or Apps are hosed.
    My advice would be to deactivate/uninstall the Adobe apps, restore the
    system again to factory condition, install any operating system updates, and
    then reinstall your Adobe apps. Now check them out: are they running at the
    expected speed? If so--and they probably will be--then carefully and
    selectively restore exactly the data you need to restore and to the proper
    locations. Be careful that your backup files are just data and not program
    files or parts of program files.

  • How to know if system is running in 40W low performance mode ?

    I experienced the same problem than described in this topic: lower performance with charger than with battery!
    (But I had set everything on Maximum Performance both in BIOS and in Windows's Power settings, so I think everything was done on software-side).
    How to know if the system runs with lower performance (is it a 40W max mode? btw how did you know it is called "40W mode" ? I saw this figure nowhere else than in the mentioned-above topic) , except using a soft to do some benchmarking? Is there a place in BIOS (I didn't find!) ?

    Hi,
    I have a mac book pro & a friend has an Imac, how to know if we are both running Leopard under 32 or 64 bit.
    I see that Leopard support 64, but didn't find if it was actually running in 64.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
    if your computer is 64-bit, Leopard is running in the 64-bit mode. There are a few caveats about this but basically this is the case.

  • What is the best way of accessing application module without page binding?

    Hi All
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g R2 (11.1.2.3) & Weblogic 10.3.5.0
    What is the best way of accessing application module without page binding?
    In my application after user authenticated from LDAP
    I need to read some information from database and set my menues.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    if you don't have a binding the I am not sure the binding context is created. Anyway, try
    BindingContext.getCurrent().findDataControl("name here as ID in DataBindings.cpx") and see if it returns a valid instance

  • How to access applications in another computer

    how to make use of java programs to access
    applications or files in another computer across the
    same network or over the internet. can help???Overly broad question. Next!
    No seriously; what do you want ? Do you want to execute something (a process); do you want to execute it here, or there ? Do you want to connect to some service to do it for you ? Do you want the service to be distributed ? Do you want the service to maintain state ? Do you want to do it transparently inside your code, or do you want to explicitly implement a client API ?
    Your choices range from:
    - nfs or smb (execute here, executable there)
    - rsh or ssh (execute there, if the remote part is UNIX)
    - cgi over http (very common, but stateless)
    - CORBA or rmi (transparent remote OO calling)
    Read up on all these, and provide yourself with answers !
