Labview reconfigutres itself when another user accout used

We have a system that runs TestStand 3.1 which calls LabVIEW vi.
We installed everything under the administrator password and everything
works fine there.  These are both base run time
installations.  We are ready to release to production except when
we run the application under another, non-administrative account, a
dialog box about LabVIEW configuring its run time engine pops up.
This may or may not be related to a problem where the remote execution
activex settings go hosed.
Does this sort of thing sound familiar to anybody?
thanks,
Chas

Recently, I had a similar experience when upgrading from LV7 to LV7.1.
My application was programmed in LV7, with the corresponding executable generated by LV7 application builder.
With only LV7 installed on the PC (Windows 2000), the .exe file would run fine from both administrator and user accounts.
Installed LV7.1 on this PC (in addition to LV7) and got message (1) every time I try to run my application as a regular user.
(Translated "Windows is configuring NI LabView 7.1. Please wait")
At this point, the installation/configuring routine seems to hang, the progress bar does not change at all. The Cancel Button won´t work either.
By terminating the "msi23.tmp" process using the task manager, the installation window is closed - however, it reappears some secons later and seems to hang again, this time in a "msi36.tmp" task. See screenshot (2) below. This could go on forever.
I could live with the fact that my LV7 applications do not work any longer - but to make things worse, this problem affects all LV7.1 .exes that I create, too. To run all executables as an adminstrator is a bad solution. Giving full access to c:\winnt and c:\program files\national instruments to every user did not help (this would not be my preferred solution either).
Any ideas as to what could cause the problem?

After a visit to the apple store, they were able to get through my pass code but unfortunately I found out that is was a problem with the logic board. Since Apple only wants to sell and not fix, I was able to locate an iphone repair near me that deals with logic boards and they are currently working on it right now. i should be getting it back soon. Im not sure if the problem you are experiencing is the same as i went through but it does sound like it may be also a hardware issue and would suggest searching online for an iphone repair place that can diagnose what exactly is wrong. Hope this helps.

  • HT4199 how do I fix it when "another device is using computer IP address" and I can't get wireless to work anymore? It used to work fine.

How do I fix it when "another device is using computer IP address"? Airport used to work fine. I've already tried turning everything on and off several times.

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

  • ITunes keeps restarting by itself on another user account

Problem began since I started using a new computer running Vista Ultimate, 64 bit. Even though a second account on the computer that WAS using iTunes closes it, when I go to MY account WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO OPEN iTunes, window upon window opens telling me I can't run iTunes because another user is running it.
Then, when I go to the other account, I see iTunes OPEN! I'll close it, go to my account, and the windows keep opening again, telling me I can't run iTunes, even though I don't want to!
I wind up going to the Task Manager and closing iTunes helper and anything else I see with iTunes as the name.

I am running Windows XP and I've been experiencing this problem for a little while, not sure exactly when it started happening. Everyone once in awhile when I try to launch iTunes on my main user account, it won't run because it is running on another account (which I never want it to run on). I was just coming here to see if I can stop that from happening, I only ever want to run it on my main account.
I do notice that iTunesHelper is running on both user accounts, and that is probably directly related to my issue. I just plugged in my iPod and got the message than iTunes is running on another account - my guess is, with that iTunesHelper running on both accounts, it is luck which account sees it first and launches iTunes. However I have also received this message when I manually run iTunes as opposed to just plugging it in with the auto-detection.
That iTunesHelper is pretty inconsistent - I have seen it running on one account only, both accounts, and no accounts if I look in the task list. I think that is the main problem but I don't know how to prevent it from running on secondary user accounts.
In any event this problem is not isolated to Vista, and that is the main reason why I am posting in this thread.

  • Another user is using iPod Software.....

I'm trying to get more songs on my iPod and when I connect it and iTunes starts running a note pops up and says:
"Another user on this computer is using the iPod Software, so iTunes is unable to communicate with this iPod. Please ask the other user to log out." I checked and nobody else on the computer is using iTunes. Does anybody know what I am supposed to do or what this means? I cannot get anything about/on my iPod on iTunes... please help

    Try restarting your computer.
This is NOT the kind of help that I find valuable. Restarting the machine is the
last thing I want to do! Is this a bug in the iTunes? Is it a sequence problem? i.e. should you plug in iPod, then start iTunes? Somebody has to have a better answer.

  • Problem when another user update record.

    Hi All,
    i am using jdev 11.1.1.5.0
use case: i have create one adf table which is based on vo where a column claimed_by.
i have add a where clause in vo
    where claimed_by is null.
default value of claimed_by is null. when user claimed particular record claimed_by contain id of that user.
now problem is that when two user access same vo at same time. suppose first user claimed a record with id 1 then claimed_by column of table update with 1.
but in second user window same record still show.
so i want if record already claimed by another user and second user attempt to claim same record which is already claimed in mean time. then proper error message show to user like "this record already claimed by another user".
is there possible with change indicator in claimed_by attribute or history column ?
or any other way to do this.

    Hi Arun,
i have already read this blog. And i know about JBO-25014: Another user has changed the row with primary key oracle.jbo.Key[x]
but in my use case i don't want this exception occur that's way i have set property reset after update and insert.
but it is not work for me.
    my concern is that-
when one user claimed record and set claimed_by column and after that when second user claim same record a proper error message display to user.

  • How to make one user get locked to edit when another user is editing??

    Dear friends,
In the webdynpro application option is given to controll the editability of the UI elements using edit button. When the same application is logged in by another user for ex: B , he should get a prompt saying user A is editing the page.
How to implement this ??and what is the best approach for this please advice.
    Thanks in advance.

The best way I could think of and what we implemented is:
Creatin a DB Lock Object around data which you want to work upon.
Requesting a lock when some one opens up a session for editing, if granted then go in edit mode else go in display\ read only mode with a message.
    Release lock after save.

  • How to refresh ViewObject from database when another user has changed data?

Hello, I use oracle database server 9.0.2 and JDeveloper 9.0.3 and I am developing a JClient application. I have JTable which is bound to a certain view object based on one entity and this is shared between many users. If a user inserts or updates a row in the viewobject (using for example the table) and commits changes, another user can not see the the inserted row while the underlying viewobject executeQuery() call.
What I need is to refresh data for all users if one of them inserts or updates date. Is it possible?
What I was able to think of was to use timer and executeQuery in certain period of time. Is there any better way? I mean kind of event which is fired when underlaying data has been changed?
    Thank you in advance!

So you're saying there is no way for a client application to receive notice from the database that a table has been updated? It seems like this would be a valuable feature, and in fact I could very much use such a feature right now.

  • Itunes says Another user is using the ipod software

When I connect my iPod which has only been owned for a week to my PC, it says that another user on the computer is connected to the Ipod software. This is incorrect. I have reset the IPod, but still cannot make the iPod talk to the PC. Help!!!

As Peeble said, Thomas & Ronnie, this sounds like "fast user switching" is enabled in XP. iTunes & fast user do not get along. See the following link for troubleshooting instructions.

  • How do I allow another user to use office for mac

I installed Office 365 while I was the only user but now I have added another user but they cannot access office, how do I give them permission?

    Hi,
I have tried to recreate this myself, and your right even after changing ownerships and movie the iPhoto library to the public folder ( Harddrive/Users/Sharing) the second account is still not allowed to access the library. This is strange behaviour because moving the iTunes Music Library to Sharing does allow all users to access the library.
All I can suggest is that you deselect the option in iPhoto preferences (Advanced) to "copy files to iPhoto library" then store your photos in a folder that resides in the Harddrive/Users/Sharing folder - then your wife can use the import command to add them to her copy of iPhoto (she should also deselect the copy to library option)

  • Scheduled shutdown when another user is logged in

I like my Mac to shut itself down each evening at 9pm and then switch on at 8.30am - which is easy to set within Energy Saver.
However, if I have another user account open (which I often has), the computer will not shutdown unless an Administer's name and password is entered. This means that I have to be there to do this - which negates the reason for having a scheduled shutdown.
I know that no data will be lost if the other account is closed down, so is there any way around this?
    Thanks
    Phil

Not that I am aware of. Data could be lost if someone is in the middle of work and the Mac shuts down without giving the user and opportunity to save the work.
Why do you want to do this? Why not just leave the Mac on all the time? Are you trying to force your kids off the Mac at a predetermined time?
