Will NI provide a language interface for Microsoft C# in NI-488.2 for Windows, and also in Measurement Studio?

I ported the "visa.h" file that comes with NI-VISA to work with C# a little

What is the best method for multiple language interface?

Hi,
I need to adapt my CVI application to multiple languages. But I have to be able to do this on the fly. The Localizer is great for all the panel objects and this works great. But I was wondering what the best method is for all the dialog box text? Right now I'm using const char defines for the text. For exampl:

Is there a simple method, or best practice method, to load different language dialog text at run time or on the fly?

Not sure if Andy's original concern was settled... but let's try and button this up:
- The UI Localizer does use a text file with manually-written translated strings for each supported language
- From the Localizer help: this will only aid in translating the panel labels.
Use this instrument driver to easily display user interfaces in different languages. When loading a panel or menu bar, you can specify a language file that contains translations for all the labels on the panel and all the menu items. You can create different language files for the user interfaces by translating them with the User Interface Localizer utility (localui.exe).
- If you have additional content to be translated (like the text inside a drop down box), manually loading from .lwl, or similar, files and programmatically setting those dialog box entries would be the solution. - Looks like CVI should handle multibyte languages just fine (see below), though I have never used them.

How can I change the language interface of Firefox 4 Beta to English (on Swedish OS)? Can only find different language versions for 3.6.8.

How can I permanently change the language interface of Firefox 4 Beta to English?
Computer is running on Swedish Windows XP.
Found that the advice on similar questions is to install the language version of the desired language on top of the current version but I haven't found different language versions for 4 Beta, only 3.6.8.
Have also tried to change general.useragent.locale (about:config) to en-US but to no avial.

A more successful experiment in creating compositable user interfaces for Config Dialogs

A couple weeks ago I posted an experiment in creating compositable user interfaces using transparent subpanels. The approach might best be described as, "It at least was notable for being novel."
Today, I'm posting another attempt, this one along more traditional lines, and far more successful. Particularly notable: this one can do all the arbitrary composition of the last one AND it solves the TAB order problem.
This solution uses a picture control and renders N copies of a control. When the user tabs to a control or moves the mouse over the control, a real control slides into that position to be able to catch the events (update mouse over draw state, highlight for keyboard focus, handle typing, etc). When the Value Change occurs, a master array of data is updated and the picture control is updated.
This is something that has been attempted in various forms in the past, but there are two aspects of this particular implementation that make it nice:
its programmatic interface for specifying the behavior of the various objects should make it fairly easy for a user of the framework to programmatically generate their dialogs
it handles the TAB problem without flickering, something I haven't seen in other attemps
This idea spawns out of conversation about the previous experiment -- thanks to those of you who posted on various forums, e-mailed me, or, in a couple cases, showed up at my desk. That last one is not something I'm encouraging unless you work at NI... just saying. :-)
Now, this experiement has already yeilded some interesting conversation. We note that as long as controls are instantiated independent of each other -- that is, no property of one control depends upon the property of another control -- this dialog system scales nicely. But in this experiment, I implemented Radio Buttons, which interact with each other -- when one is set True, the others go False. As soon as controls start interacting with each other (such as graying out one control when a checkbox is toggled, or having expandable sections, or really complex cases like updating a graph as some options change, like happens in some Express VI config dialogs) then we start needing ways to refer to the other controls. This rapidly moves us in one of two directions: naming controls or creating references. The naming approach is definitely my preference as it fits better with dataflow and I can do some interesting effects with breaking apart some of the tree. But all of this quickly starts sounding like "Please implement a XAML parser in LabVIEW." For those of you unfamiliar with XAML, in the world of UI design, it might very well be the coolest thing since sliced bread. A XAML string would indeed fit with dataflow, and we could start building that up. I hesitate to head down this road for two reasons. One, as many have noted, there's really not a good XML parsing library written in LabVIEW that can give me a useful DOM tree. Two, that's a huge project and my gut sense is that you'd have to complete a fairly large chunk of it before you'd start seeing any return on investment. But it is worth thinking about -- I might be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. This code that I've posted today can at least get you started on the generation side if one of you decides to become industrious.
I'm turning my attention away from this project for now... coding in G is lots of fun, and I wish I could spend more days doing it, but this has been a side project and it's time to get back to my assigned projects in text programming. Building a powerful platform for automatic UI generation in LabVIEW would be really useful -- I see lots of requests for this sort of thing, and other languages are pulling ahead of us in this domain.

When you move controls around on the screen, normally you try to Defer Panel Updates while you do that. But Defer Panel Updates has an effect on control's abilities to catch certain mouse clicks, so when you're trying to move a control to catch the mouse, you have to work a lot without Defer Panel Updates, so if you're adjusting captions, etc, to match the new location, you can see flicker as properties adjust. You can move the control off-screen, as long as you have already updated the picture control to reflect the changes. It took a while to catch all the ways that the flickering can crop up. I think I got 'em all.
Attached are the VIs saved for LV 2009. Actually, they're saved for LV 8.6, but it doesn't work in 8.6 because of a bug in the picture control that existed back then.

Language files for non-official Skype languages av...

Skype bundles a number of languages with the standard installation file but there are more languages available for the interface. Some of these are really hard to find on the forum or web so to make life easier, some translators have opened a project on SourceForge (download your lang file here) where you can now get all the .lang / .ts and .qm files (as far as we know). To install in Windows, go to Skype and select Tools » Change Language » Load Skype Language file. To install on Linux, check the wiki on SourceForge.

ADRMAS and international language versions for Bus Partners

How will MDM address international language versions for vendor masters? Will it allow for matching on the these at this time? Will it copy from load client store in central repository and pass back down to other R/3 and legacy systems?

On Master Data Server (MDS) a Third Party Tool to check country-specific postal data can be connected. However these checks are only possible in the Enterprise Portal User Interface. It will not work during Consolidation (Upload from clients to MDS).

Requirement1
I want to label the listbox with X, where X is either 'Categories' or 'Products'.1.In your rpd, create a new session variable init block
Name : DynamicName
Query: select case when ':USER' = 'USER1' then 'REGION1' else
CASE WHEN ':USER' = 'USER2' THEN 'REGION2' end end from dual
Assign the above query’s result to a session variable; DISP_NAME
2.Double click on the presentation column(in presentation layer) that is supposed to change dynamically->check the box ”Custom Display Name” -> Type in VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION. DISP_NAME)
3.With the assumption that you already have created a prompt with the above column, login as USER1, you will see the prompt label as 'REGION1' (value is fetched from the session block query).Similarly login as ‘USER2’ and check the prompt label to show 'REGION2'
This solves the first requirement.

On the dashboard I would like to present the title: 'Report by X', where X is either 'Categories' or 'Products'.1.Navigate to your report in answers

3.Add a narrative view to the report (remove the existing title view) and the give the reference as the column added in step 2.Save the report.
4.Logout and login as USER1, you can see the report title as 'Report by Categories' and for USER2 , it will be 'Report by Product'

If you have an RS-232 interface to the digital video recorder, it may be that you can send a command to the video recorder in order to get the time code sent back to your application - you would then read this as a string and then incorporate this data into your program.
The best source of help will be any documentation you have relating to the serial (RS-232) interface with the digital video recorder. This documentation should have commands that you can send to the recorder and expected response strings that you should get back from the device. This task should be straightforward but can often be frustrating without documentation about the video recorder. This will not be something that you can "guess" - past experience in writing serial communication ap
plications has shown that a good manual is your best friend.
Failing this if you have any source code for example programs that have already been written to communicate with the recorder, you might be able to extract the relevant ASCII strings and use them within your application. This is true whether you are using LabVIEW or a text-based language.

I am trying to get the fortran interface to gpib working using the compaq visual fortran compiler. I cant seem to get the linking to mfib.obj to work as the compiler spits out
fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt
also the [far] data type is nolonger supported under the new compiler.
Can anybody please help with these two probs

COFF stands for Common Object File Format. This type of linker error occurs if you're not using the appropriate language interface files. If your not using any of the supported compilers, you need to interface directly with the dll.
The fortran language interface is no longer supported by the newer versions of the GPIN driver. What driver version are you using?, What OS?.

In a ACE router mode deployment, I have a single context configured with two interface for server side and two interface for client side. In this situation how can we meet the demands of customers arriving from both networks? How can the ACE handle the client request if we configure one default-gateway to each network?

Enable "mac-sticky" comand under each client inteface.
It will ensure that ACE sends the response to the MAC address from which the request to the VIP was recieved.

Ok, I admit, I'm not a professional java developer but....
STRUTS is a general web application development framework.
VELOCITY is a language for using templates to use java objects.
RUBY ON RAILS is also a language/framework for creating web applications.
None of them is specifically a database integration framework.
If you want an example for a application framework that works seamless with MaxDB and all other major databases - go for SAP NetWeaver
It has a lot to offer, a huge user/developer base, professional support, really is mission-critical-proof and you can download the developer version here in SDN as well.

Problem to deploy to a WebService interface for ADF Business Components to Weblogic Server

I'm trying to deploy a custom application ,in which i have exposed ADF Business Components through a WebService interface, to a standalone weblogic server.
Application Module is configured with a Service Interface for ordinary ViewObjects.
Now I want to create a EAR file of this application to deploy it on the weblogic server.
But I got an error while deploying it.The error i am getting is shown below.
ERROR: No Java EE modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted. == (oracle.jdevimpl.deploy.ear.WeblogicAssembler)
I have followed the steps mention in the below link :

As far as I know there is no interface for it.
Check if you can use EGO_ITEM_AML_PUB.Implement_AML_Changes.
If that does not work, you can do a straight insert into the MTL_MFG_PART_NUMBERS
The main columns are manufacturer_id , organization_id, inventory_item_id , and mfg_part_num.
Oracle validates only the first 3. And it does not allow duplicates of the first 4 columns.

Instead of creating multiple forms, 1 in each different language, for the same service, is there any workaround?

Hoan - is your question what are the considerations when creating multiligual catalogs? If so, I can tell you that at other clients I have seen them use a single catalog for one or two languages. For the two langugages, such as Spanish/English, you can create a single catalog with both of them. Once you get to more than two languages, the catalog would get unweildy and is therefore not suggested.
