Language localization on Meridian

Q: How does the language localization works on the Meridian APP, If we are using the APP in UK v/s USA? Can we change the language on the Editor?
A: The language localization is supported at the device level, not at the Editor level. Changing the default language in the Editor won't change the language used in the Editor or on the device powered by Meridian APP. If a visitor to a location in the UK has the language on their device set to American English, that visitor will see the Meridian app content as American English, as long as it's selected as a supported language in the Editor. If a visitor to a location in the UK has the language of their device set to a language not selected as a supported language (say, Chinese), their device will display the default language chosen in the Editor (British English, for example). So, for example, if a customer adds a Placemark in the Editor and sets the Placemark type as "Restroom (Men's)" that Placemark text will display as British English for all visitor's to the customer's location with British English set as their device language:
Visitor 1 has a device set to British English. Visitor 1 would see the Placemark as "WC (Men's)".
Visitor 2 has a device set to American English. Visitor 2 would see the same Placemark as "Restroom (Men's)".
It's also important that we enter all customized text as British English, if that's the default language, we would like to use.

  • Language localization forcing AM/PM to show

    Hi Folks,
    I don't know why but since my last sync with iTunes my iPhone calendar (with 24h format configured) shows me the appointments with a combination of 24h + AM/PM at same time; I mean:
    17:32 p.m. Meeting at Home
    Instead of:
    17:32 Meeting at Home
    Because I have configured 24h format only.
    This is a BUG, because with other languages localization works OK; I mean, if I configure 24h it uses time in 24h format only, and if I configure AM/PM it uses time in AM/PM format only.
    I tried to GLOBAL reset and even re-sync and recover from Backup, but it doesn't work at all. I even found that a Japanese guy suffered the same, but with his Japanese language; so, this bug is not related with the language at all, but with something else, and now it seems that the SPANISH language in my iOS is "contaminated" and I cannot come back. (With any of the other languages, the time format configuration works properly in the calendar appointments).
    Any idea about how to solve it, please?
    Thanks!

    My guess would be that your hard drive has become corrupt, and the corruption is affecting something about that folder or its contents such that when the Finder tries to display them, it crashes. I would recommend immediatelyrepairing with Disk Utility. Also, if you don't have any backups, now would be a good time to start, before something bad happens.
    If repairing the hard drive doesn't work, I would try deleting and reinstalling iMovie.
    Also, note that I don't recommend BitDefender. Read my Mac Malware Guide, and if after reading that you want to have anti-virus software, use one of the programs it recommends. BitDefender has performed poorly in my anti-virus software testing, both in the first round and the second round of testing.

  • Language Localization Problem on Dock

    I recently noticed that my trash icon on the dock has been changed to spanish language localization. I get 'Papelera' when I mouse over it. It is only on the administrative account. No other menus or icons are in spanish. I checked the international language settings in Preferences and they appear correct. I cannot figure out how to change it back to English. Help appreciated. Thanks.

  • Country-specific covers: language localization

    Hello everyone, about to publish my first iBook and I'd like to know if there is a way to give my book a different cover in different countries. I guess it would be a similar feature to app language localizations, where you have a single app and you can choose your language which gives you different content. Or do I have to submit a seperate book for each country if I want a different cover?
    Another question: if I want to have my book availble for free in a country do I have to pay anything to publish it?
    thanks!

    Thank you. When updating table, "No maintenance objects found for table/view T581S".
    Is there any other way out?

  • Don't remove language localizations or Adobe updaters will fail ungracefully

    This is more of a comment for Mac users.   Lately the issued updaters have failed and after checking error logs it is obvious the updaters don't gracefully deal with missing languagage localizations.  (verified by forum adminitrators who checked into it)
    Mac users 'tend' to remove extraneous languages from their many installations in order to save disk space and remove clutter.  Various programs do this manually as well as automatically.   Having an SSD in a laptop with more limited space is just one very good reason to get rid of 500MBs of never used languages.  (if you are a user with a good deal of software, 500MB is easy to reach)
    And, some users that use these 'janitor' programs aren't aware that some do it automatically as a part of set routines.
    This isn't a bad practice, and I haven't run into an issue with it for several years (and I use a good variety of software for work and fun both).
    I don't do this as a routine practice, just once or twice a year, especially if I've been installing new software or moving to a new drive.
    Recently I posted this in a forum here and asked the 'team' to issue a warning to Mac users as well as instructing us that we will need to re-install software from scratch in order to perform updates.
    I have yet to see a statement to this affect anywhere on here so I wanted to post something.
    I have also asked that Adobe work on it's updaters to improve the situation.   If you are having this issue,  which more than a few are having based on responses in another sub forum, then please make a request to Adobe also.  I just today had to re-install Dreamweaver and it was more difficult than I'd hoped since the Application Manager wouldn't forget it was installed even after I used the uninstaller.  Glitches happen, which is why some projects take more time than anticipated, I know.
    Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
    We just need to get a fire lit under the right person who can take care of things.

  • JES5 Language Localize Problem in Web Interface

    I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question...
    Here's the problem:
    I wanted to make a Dutch version of the Sun Java Communication Express, so I followed all the steps you have to do (create folders, translate all the necessary files, edit .properties files, ... etc). I've also restarted the server after uploading.
    It seems that everything has worked out well, because when I go to my web interface, I can log in. I change the language to Dutch, and logged out.
    Now here's the weird part. When I log in again now, my "Mail" tab stays in English. But when i go to "Calendar", "Options", etc. the interface is show in dutch, as i translated them.
    I've found out that the redirecting url might be wrong, cause the url that show in my browser is: (ip)/uwc/webmail/en/mail.html?lang=en&laurel=on&cal=1
    It doesn't seem normal to me that, in the url, there is still "en" instead of "nl" for dutch. When I change the url manually, that's the only way to show the dutch version of my mail tab.
    So propably the problem is that the url ist being editted after choosing dutch as language(when I choose French, it DOES edit the url to "fr").
    Has anyone got an idea how to fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Shane,
    as I have been updating our own documentation I have also honored your request to update the publically available [ http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php?title=Add_New_Language_ME Messaging Server wiki].
    For future reference the above link may be more up-to-date then this text.
    How do I add a new language to the Messenger Express interface that is not one of the languages localized by Sun?
    Because Sun does not provide additional localizations beyond those already supplied, you need to do your own translation.
    Start by copying the original files of one of the supported languages to the new language you need to support. In this case I translate from English (language code: en) to Dutch (language code: nl).
    Your Messenger Express may be installed in a different directory, change paths accordingly.
    <tt>
    cp -r /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl
    </tt>
    Translate the file <tt>/opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js</tt>. It contains most of natural language used in webmail. The files <tt>help.htm</tt> and <tt>help2.htm</tt> contain a lot of help text. I cheated and replaced those files with less extensive useage instructions or just leave the original english and hope the customers don't complain too much.
    For each language already supported and the new one edit the file <tt>i18n.js</tt> and add a localized name for the Dutch language and add Dutch to the supported/available languages in the options page.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='English'
    *'i18n['nl']='Dutch'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/es/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Ingls'
    *'i18n['nl']='Holands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Engels'
    *'i18n['nl']='Nederlands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    </tt>
    The Messenger Express web interface has built in spelling check. The dictionary files come from the ancient/traditional unix ispell and are
    available for download from: http://ficus-www.cs.ucla.edu/geoff/ispell-dictionaries.html
    Download the Dutch affix rule file and the actual dictionary files, and use the buildhash command to make a hash file Messenger Express can use. When
    copying this hash files be warned that you can't copy it from x64 to sparc (big/little endian) architectures.
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.lat</tt> (dictionary)
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.aff</tt> (affix file for use with above dictionary)
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/buildhash dutch96.lat dutch96.aff /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/nl.hash
    </tt>
    with a new dictionary in the correct place it should be detected automatically after a restart of Messenger Express.
    Use configutil to make Messenger Express aware of the new language:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages
    </tt>
    returns for instance the language strings: <tt>en,es</tt>. Add Dutch:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages -v "en,es,nl"
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages -v "[nl,en,es]"
    </tt>
    Make the new Dutch language the default language for this site:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.sitelanguage -v nl
    </tt>
    Restart Messenger Express (web interface) to make the changes effective.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/stop-msg
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/start-msg
    </tt>

  • CR 2008 paramteres, export and print windows language localization

    Hi, i want to use in my application Crystal Reports. I installed a trail version of CR 2008. My application is written in Delphi 7. I connected my application with Crystal Reports through the official VCL downloaded from http://ftp1.businessobjects.com/outgoing/products/vcl/crystalvcl11.zip and edited it to work with CR 2008 (12.x.x.x).
    Everything works with this VCL. When i have parameters the Enter Values window where i enter the values for parameters and in the Viewer window the Export and Print Dialog are in English. I want to have them in Polish Language ( or operating system language). In CR i set in View -> Preferred Viewing Locale -> More ... Polish but the viewer window, export, print and parameters are still in English. I tried this also on computers without installed CR 2008 but installed CR Runtime and it is still English.
    Operating system in Windows XP SP3 Polish.
    Any ideas what i can do to have this windows localized in my language?
    Robert

    Hello Robert:
    I am not sure that you will be able to do much. The VCL has not been updated since version 10 of Crystal Reports and it may be that the functionality you require will just simply not be possible. (I'll get someone else who used to work with the VCL to have a look too.)
    In the meantime, you may want to have a look at the following:
    Go [here|http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/devsuite.htm], then check out Crystal Reports .NET SDK > Tutorials and Sample Code > Other Tutorials > Configuring Multilingual Client Support. (The above is for CR XI R2, it's the same for CR 2008 - I just don't have a link handy.) I am not sure if the above will help.
    Also, note that you do not have to use the VCL. You can use the CR assemblies for .NET with Delphi. See the following for more details:

  • Language/Localization problem with Site Studio

    I have created a small site using Site Studio. Now in the homepage, there is a select option box where the user have to choose a language (English or Japanese) based on which the text on the page should get converted in a particular language.
    So for this, I have created a custom component where I have defined strings in the following way:
    <@ja.wwMyString=My String in Japanese@>
    <@fr.wwMyString=My String in French@>
    <@en.wwMyString=My String in English@>
    And when I see the text on the browser, it displays "My String in English" because the SystemLocale value is set as 'English-US'. So I need a way by which I can change the Locale of the site. So I have 2 questions:
    1. How can I achieve the same?
    2. Is my approach correct? Maybe there are better ways to do the same. I guess there will be a lot of manual work if I follow the approach described above.

    Any reply?

    Hi,
    I used some Service Request custom fields in narrative report and those fields are not getting transated whenever i change my language.

    Be careful spending time on a Narrative Report if your end goal is to print to PDF. Currently Oracle CRM OnDemand is deffective when it comes to printing Narrative Reports.
    For example we designed a customer contract spending weeks on formatting and design only to find out that the Printer Friendly PDF option scrunches the entire report into 2 inches. Aweful!
    Oracle response to the enhancement request has not been much better.

  • Language localization problem

    my pc won't open itunes, when i try to, it reads " this version of itunes has not been correctly localized for this language. please run the english version."
    how do i fix this so i can open my itunes and back up my iphone?

    Brett, that won't help if iTunes cannot open.
    Karla, try these steps:
    1. Please triple-click on the block of text below to select all of it, then press CTRL+C to copy it.
    cmd /k REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes" /v LangID /t REG_SZ /d "1033"
    2. Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the Run... dialog.
    3. Paste the text into the box with CTRL+V and then press enter/return. Overwrite the value if prompted.
    Alternatively, if you are confident using the registry editor, open it and locate the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes. It might be useful to know what value is shown there now for LangID since several users are reporting this problem. Change the value of LangID to 1033 to tell iTunes to use English (United States). Once iTunes is able to start you can change this if needed, or you could look up the desired hex Locale ID from this table.
    I've just used this technique several times to flip iTunes between English (US) and English (UK). Although I'm in the UK I prefer the US labels of Movies and TV Shows as opposed to Films and TV Programmes. I'm guessing that there is currently a value in your registry (or none at all?) that doesn't match with any of the languages that iTunes is customized for, although why it cannot switch to English automatically is another matter.
    I've not had this problem myself, but I'm assuming at this point that correcting the user setting is all that needs to be done. Just in case however the following would correct the global setting which would normally be used when setting up a new user or if the current user hasn't been configured for the application.
    Command to copy & paste:
    cmd /k REG ADD "HKLM\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes" /v InstalledLangID /t REG_SZ /d "1033"
    or locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes and edit:InstalledLangID to the value 1033.
    Please let me know how you get on.

    I need to determine what language Photoshop is localized to at runtime. Tried using GetADMLanguageCode() from ADMHostSuite6 but that does not return reliable results. I've seen it return "en_US" for a German version of Photoshop.

I know that in www technology it's common to use ResourceBundle class and properties files where every string has it's identifier - I need a library that will generate such a properties or other kind file so that I could fill it with proper string values - does abynody know anything like that?

  • Language Localization Resources

    Chinese..Danish...etc. I would like to get rid of these language resources except english. It there an application to remove these?

    The application Monolingual, which can be found at versiontracker.com, will do this; however, do note that removing languages can cause certain applications to malfunction. I believe Microsoft Office & some Adobe applications tend to break if extra languages are removed.
    Have at least one good backup in place before running the application. And if you're looking to free up space, you may want to look elsewhere, as this will regain only a few GB.
