Language Translation in Xcelsius based on Infoview language settings

Hi,
Could you please tell me how to do language translation in Crystal Xcelsius.
I built the dashboard using WebI Report in English version.
The client wants to view the Dashboard in French.
Also, the client donu2019t want to have 2versions of the dashboard i.e. in English and French.
Please let me know if there is any issues.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Can you please tell me the workarounds that needs to be done here.
I have a single WebI Report where based on the Infoview preferences setting the report displays either in English or French.
Let me know how to do the same in Xcelsius Dashboard. In Excel do we have any such function?

  • Translate Application- browser application based on the language defined

    Dear All Expert,
    My oracle apex application is develop in oracle 11g XE edition, apex application primary language is in english. And i would like to switch my application to chinese language based on the language defined on my oracle database table.
    I did translated my application to chinese language and published.
    I created application processes called "set_language", the conditions type is "Request = Expression 1" and i set "Expression 1" to value "LANG". (Fire on header load)
    setlanguage pl/sql as below;_
    begin
    owa_util.redirect_url('f?p='||:APP_ID||':'||:APP_PAGE_ID||':'||:APP_SESSION);
    end;
    I created a button with label "chinese" on my login page. This button will send a request "LANG" and set "FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE" to value "zh-tw" ,and redirected to my login page again when button pressed. This work fine.
    My question here is how can i automatically browser the apex application based on the language defined on my database table. (I had a table to stored language to be use browser the application.) Mean that i want my apex application to check the language from my db table in order to browser the application based on the language defined.
    How can i do that? Can anyone help on it?
    Another question is about the logout in chinese language display.
    The application will automatically switch to english when i logout my application. How can i maintain in chinese language?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Best Regards,
    Apex Junior.

    Hello, (What is your first name?)
    >> I tried to used session as derived my second language which is "zh-tw".
    The Session option allows you to use the built-in procedure apex_util.set_session_lang or the parameter p_lang - as part of the application URL – to dynamically set the application language.
    If you use the p_lang parameter as part of your application URL, the first page – including the login page – will be rendered according to this parameter. In your case it can look something like this:
    http://. . ./f?p=1234 . . . &p_lang=zh_tw
    >> From your reply, you are suggested to use APPLICATION PREFERENCE(FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE).
    As I mentioned in the last paragraph of my previous reply, if you choose to set the application language for each individual login, based on a parameter you need to fetch (like the database language), you don’t need to use application preference. The latter is useful when the user preference is lasting (i.e., a certain user is using the same language all the time, although you have the option of changing it). If the language can change from one session to another, based on dynamic parameters in the database, the best is to use the * FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE* item.
    The advantage of using the p_lang parameter is that it allows you to set an appropriate language even for the first application page (usually the login page). Using the FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE item requires you first to set its value. Before that, the Application Builder uses the primary language to render the first page, and because of that, the first rendering of the login page is in the primary language.
    I want to draw your attention to the Browser (use browser language preference) option. If your application language tightly correlated with the browser language – it’s reasonable to assume that users that want to use zh-tw in the application, also using the same language in their browser – this option is a very simple and straightforward to set the application language from the first page.

    Arie.

  • Language Translation in SAP ERP 6 (ECC6.0)

    Dear Experts,
    We are doing an implementation and rollout of SAP ERP 6 (ECC 6.0) and Enterprise Portal 7 (EP7) for over 18 to 20 countries for one of the client.
    Since local language is to be proivded to few countries, employee master data will be uploaded in local language for those countries. Hence employee master data will exist in various languages in the SAP System. The objective is to view data in a single language selected by the user during the time of login. I understand that field names etc. are displayed in the language selected during the login but I am not sure about the language in which the employee master data will be displayed. I would like to know whether the employee master data will also be translated to the language selected during login. The unicode functionality available in SAP ERP 6 would be providing this funcitonality but appreciate if you can confirm the same.
    E.g. Employee Master data exists in English, Italian, Spanish & French. When a UK user logs in R/3 or a Manager logs in MSS using English language, will SAP system automatically translate the employee master data in English or will the data be displayed in the local language? If the data is displayed in the local language then what can be done to view the data in English (i.e. the language selected during login).
    Thanx in advance for the response.

    Hi Radha;
    U have stated that u have maintained data in the table for multiple languages. Then there should be a language key in ur table.Based on that u can see data for any language.
    In program when u will be fetching data from this table, in the same select query make use of the condition  zlang = sy-langu in the where condition.
    Then based up on ur logon language u can see the respective data, if u are making use of that program for displaying data from the stated table...
    Hope it helps...reward points if helpful....

  • KM content and language translation

    Dear Portal Experts, I have a page with multiple links and content that was created in KM-documents as HTML file. This URL is being called using the URL iview in a page. Is there any way to translate and display the content in multilanguage based on user login language. Thanks
    Regards
    Gabriel

    Hi,
    First you need to arrange the KM content in different folders based on the language. Let say if are displaying help file.
    Then in KM you need have folder Help following by sub folder for each language. Under these folders you will need to maintain the translated documents.
    Now develop a custom abstract portal component ... implement the method doOnNodeReady()...
    under this method, get the logged in user and his language.
    request.getUser().getLocale();
    will provide you that. Now dynamically build an url for the KM document to be displayed.
    e.g.
    String url = "/irj/go/docs/documents/help/"+request.getUser.getLocale()+"help.html";
    Once you have the url, then you need to forward the request to this url using the below code:
    request.forward(url);

  • Language translation of script

    Hi all,
                 I am working on a script in english language. I need to translate this script in to different languages. I gone through se63 but I could not understand how to translate. Can anybody help me how to convert the script into different languages.
    Thanks.

    To create sapscript in multiple laguages use transaction SE71.
    If you have copied the custom form from a standard SAP form, then you will often have copies in multiple languages delivered.  When creating from the sap form using the "Utilities-->Copy from Client" menu option there is a checkbox for "Original Language Only" that you should not select.
    To create different language versions simply change the language on the SE71 initial screen and select the create button, and then select the menu option "Form-->Copy From" to copy your english version to the new language, and then save the new version.
    You can then go into the text elements in the different language versions and put the appropriate texts in place.  The text elements for each language are stored separately.   You will only be able to add new windows etc in the main language version, and these are automatically copied into the other language versions.
    To have some items not show in a given language, code an IF test based on the system language.

  • How can we make language translation in sap script?

    Hi expert,
    Based on language i have to display text in sap script form.
    please i like to know how to maintain language translation in sap script.
    manually i am handling the language text in print program.
    like below.
    if language = 'EN'
       text in english.
    endif.
    if language = 'DE'
      text in German.
    endif.
    good points will be given for proper answer.
    Thanks and regards,
    Pavan.

    Hello there!
    If those texts are static, you can use the following procedure (to translate your text elements):
    Go to SE63, then in the menu follow this path:
    Translation->ABAP Objects->Other Long Texts->FS (forms and styles)->FORM (Forms)
    This will transport you for a screen where you can choose the script (Object -> field Object Name). Press Enter. If says object not found, it's because the source language is wrong (box below named translation -> field source language --- press F4 to change it)
    After this, you'll navigate (after pressing Enter with correct language in source and choosing a correct one in target) to the transaltion screen. You'll have you text elements, original on top, your transalation below.
    If those texts are dynamic, I believe you have to do the way you are doing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Switch JSON data file based on selected language

    I would like to switch my json file that contains the data for my app based on the language selected.
    Basically that would mean changing the data uri to point to the new uri when the language is changed:
    Uri dataUri = new Uri("ms-appx:///DataModel/SampleData.json");
    I am using the below switch for this purpose:
    System.Globalization.CultureInfo ci = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentUICulture;
    string locale = ci.ToString();
    switch (locale)
    case "fr":
    { Uri dataUri = new Uri("ms-appx:///DataModel/SampleDataFrench.json");
    break;
    case "en":
    { Uri dataUri = new Uri("ms-appx:///DataModel/SampleDataEnglish.json");
    break;
    I get the error: "The name 'dataUri'does not exist in the current context. What am I doing wrong and how to fix this?

    Using 'dataUri' variable outside switch case would raise this error. Try declaring Uri type variable outside the switch case & use it then all over.

  • Problem in language Translation

    Hi Experts,
    I am having problem in language translation of smart form.
    I have include all text as text element and have done translation in SE63. But when I login in to translated language the output remains in English.
    I have made the translation from English to Chinese in SE63.
    Please suggest why the output does not come into translated language.

    Hi ,
    I have been working on translations for 8 months now. I think i can resolve your issue.
    Remember one thing in mind when you do translations firstly when you go to se 63 and make some changes make sure that you have not opened the smartform in Change mode. If you do so then you will face this sort of probelm. As per your messages i think you have already checked the language in the form
    If not make sure you do it. Now try again in SE63 make changes in what ever langauage you are doing and then "saveactive" .
    One more final thing if anytext in smartform say   &invoivce_no& is blank in smartform then it will not show up in se63 i think you know about this.

  • Problems with Multi-language Translation (OMLT/MLT1)

    SAP B1 logon takes a lot of time when a user logs on to a database with many translations.
    The logon time seems to increase exponentially with the number of records in the mlt tables.
    For the moment we have translated only one field in 2 languages (ItemName of OITM)
    - there are 20000 articles in the database, translated into 2 languages -> 40000 records in mlt1.
    Our customer will have 50000 articles translated into 4 languages when he goes live.
    Here are some logon times
    logon time (in minutes)     |     records (OMLT/MLT1)
    10:00               |     20000/40000
    02:39               |     10000/20000
    00:45               |     5000/10000
    00:13               |     2000/4000
    00:05               |     1000/2000
    When using the sql profiler, the last statement just before the client seems to hang is:
    SELECT T0.*  FROM [dbo].[MLT1] T0 ORDER BY T0.TranEntry,T0.LangCode
    Then, after the elapsed logon time, the next statement is
    SELECT T0.*  FROM [dbo].[CHEN] T0 ORDER BY T0.Component,T0.ID
    So it seems that all the translations are read at logon time, and stored in a very inefficient way.
    We have the same results when we connect to the database via the DI-API.
    Does anyone know if there is a fix available (our current version: SBO 2005A SP:0 PL:06

    I think the problem has been identified - <u>should</u> be possible to solve in short-term (no guarantee )...

    Edited by: Frank Moebius on Sep 22, 2009 11:39 AM
    The bug - which caused most of the trouble - had been fixed in 2006 - connection time has gone down to about 1/50!
    However, the design (loading translations when logging on) has not been changed so far. Subsequently using a large number of translations may still cause connection times which may be considered "too long".

  • Language Translations of Adobe Forms

    Hi,
    My question is regarding language translations in Adobe Form. I have translated the adobe form in various languages, now I want to check in how many languages I already translated? Is there any way by which I can check the translations??
    Thanks & Regards
    Rafi

    HI friend,
    Just try this transaction SE63.
    In that There are menu called GOTO and WORKLIST.
    Check the options in those two. I don't have sufficient authorization to check the things. I think it will provide you the required information.
    Please revert back me if you find a solution or if i am wrong. SO that i will try some other option.
    Thanks,

  • SMARTFORMS language translations are not stored

    Experts,
    I am trying to translate a SMARTFORM from Language EN to Languages ES, PT & DE.
    After maintaining translations using SE63 when I check the output it is giving the correct output with language translations but after changing the english version again, when I tried to give the output in language ES, PT & DE all my translations are gone. I dont know the reason why it happened, even I have created the transport using the program 'RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER' as well.
    Again I did the same thing second time i .e. translated the texts in different languages and again changed the form in language EN (base language) and activated it and after this, again I have tried to give the output in languages ES, PT and DE, again the same all my translations are gone and displaying only in English language.
    Kindly give some ideas so that this problem get resolved.
    Thanks,
    Kalikonda.

    Jay,
    Allotted points for your advice, but actually before asking this question I already searched in the forums and found the same program, but I thought that since my language translations are not getting stored, I may be using wrong program for the transport to be generated.
    Thank you very much for your advice and help.
    Kalikonda.
