Have you tried deleting all previous versions of Adobe first?
If not, do a search for it on your mac and then uninstall. Then download the most recent Adobe and search for that, then launch it from the search window.
I'm no expert, but I had the same problem and this worked for me. It's on the Adobe help page, follow the link from where you're downloading it, there's a few good suggestions there.

Depending on your choice of database software, it may or may not support the storage of binary large objects (BLOBs).

How read a pdf file and change TableCell height after reading it using itext api

I have created a pdf form file using itext ( see class CreatingFormClass ) with itext PdfPTable and PdfPCell. It is done successfully .
Now I read this pdf file and filling this pdf file(see class FillingFormClass ) and at this point i want to change PdfPCell height () according to Items.
It is possible or Not???

Though it prompts with open, save dialog box when i try to open directly or when i save it some where locally and then open it i am getting the following message " File is repaired ot damaged.Operation failed." Any idea about what can be done??? Its very urgent.Please suggest.

You need Adobe Reader to read PDF files.
You need MS Office to open Word docs. If you don't have then
LibreOffice is one of your best bets.

If you are using the built-in PDF viewer, you may have to swipe right or left instead of up and down. I recommend Goodreader as a third-party viewer if you want one.

Please tell us happens when you try to update your PDF file. Do you get an error message? What version of Acrobat are you using? Or, did you convert your PDF file to Word format, and are trying to edit it there?

Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

What response headers do you receive from the webcache port ? (using something like IEhttpheaders but for mozilla, maybe Firebug will help you to get them).

Downloading PS CS6; have purchased yearly subscription and cannot locate download

Have purchased a yearly subscription to photoshop. Have followed the download instructions, through to my order history, clicked on download button and was lead to page with no download that I could find, and nothing downloaded automatically.
Is this an issue with the Adobe site? Or am I missing something?

Why can I no longer download and read .pdf files

I have never had any problems downloading and reading .pdf files until I 'upgraded' the Adobe reader to version 11. Now all attempted downloads fail because "I don't have the necessary helper application or even C:\DOCUME~1\Will-o\LOCALS~1\Temp\Back Channel II - The Vietnam Betrayal - Chaps 1&2.pdf could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences. What in the world is going on and how do I fix it?
Under 'Tools - Applications - Adobe Acrobat Document, the I've selected 'Use Adobe Reader.' However since I also have Adobe Acrobat 8.3, I've tried substituting that for the Reader, but that doesn't work either. Please help.

Thanks.For reading the text content from PDF files I have had moderate success with the PDFBox library. docx is an XML format, so you can use a SAX parser to read those. Search for "java docx" using Google to get some hints. There is also the Apache POI project, but the Word support in that API is sketchy at best; the project page openly admits that it is not actively developed.

There are many apps that allow reading PDFs. GoodReader allows downloading some items. It all depends upon how the site handles the download. It also uses file sharing in iTunes.
iBooks also reads and had file sharing.

When a pdf file is accessed through an online link nothing appears although I can open and read pdf files otherwise.

I uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox 7, but still get a blank page when I click on a pdf file link. I have no trouble reading PDF files stored on my PC. I use Foxit Reader.
