Last time database accessed

How to find out when the last time database is accessed either select or update?
Thanks in advance!
Tina

A small correction which was required (and none did), in oracle you dont access schema for select,dmls,you access tables for all this. The options givenearlier to enable fga, database wide auditing are not so correct as tats too much to do for a small task.
If you are interested in finding the number of times plus timings when an object went for a select, dmls, the best is to enable allllthe auditing for it byaudit all on tabnameThe tab
modifictions view wont be refreshed immediately. It will be done at next flush done by you or by oracle. but this option is Not required in 10g as the monitoring is on for all the objects in this version out of the box by statisticss
level parameter. I wont recommebnd to use orarowscn, triggers,one being non reliable and second beinb performance degrader.

  • Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5? I want to choose "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net" but Firefox won't let me.

    In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

    ''Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5?"
    Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.
    '''Not saving History''' -- check your settings for '''Tools > options > Privacy'''', make sure you are not clearing more than just cache in "Settings for Clearing History"
    * http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4928/clearcachew.png
    * clearing your history at end of session, cache is the only one you would want to clear at end of session, if you don't want to lose things
    There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
    * Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
    * You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
    * "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above)

    how do I check to see the last time the database was shutdown?

    alert log is good source
    you can first create a external table base on alert log
    something like this
    CREATE TABLE alert_ext
    text_line varchar2(255)

    DEFAULT DIRECTORY bdump_dir
    ACCESS PARAMETERS

  • Last time the table has been accessed flag

    Is there any easier way to "log" when was the last time every table has been accessed than this ones:
    -Audit all on every table and just check sys.aud$ when was the last time the table has a session rec (action# = 103)
    -Place a trigger on every table to log the last access
    If you wonder why I need it is beacause I have around 200 tables, some of them quite heavy, and probably half of them are not being used anymore so I want to backup and delete those tables from the database.
    Thanks

    Easier than
    audit select on table <your_table> by access;and later query DBA_AUDIT_TRAIL?
    Don't think so.

  • How to find obsoleted tablespace? (scn or time of last change or access)

    Hi,
    there are many tablespaces in the database which are probably not yet used by applications...
    Please, how do I find which of these can be dropped? That means, how to find last update time or scn of last change or access (last used select for that tablespace)?
    Many thanks in advance in any info how to get forward.

    PavolI suppose you meant tables (in that tablespace)
    There is no direct way where you can find this information if auditing is not enabled.
    To check if insert/update/delete has been performed on table you can use function ora_rowscn to check when it was done last.

  • Check last time schema was accessed 10g

    Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
    I am validating a list of used/unused schema in a Oracle 10g database. I have a list of schema that I think do not have any dependencies on anything in the database( Not sure why it was created) . Just to make doubly sure, is there a view in Oracle to check the last time a schema was accessed by a user in the database?.
    Thanks

    Use Oracle Auditing for the same. No such direct views are available.

  • Last time a deleted user accessed the system

    Is there any way of finding out when a user that has been deleted from the system access the system?

    Hi Rakesh,
    Report RSUSR200 reads from USR02, which only pertains to active users.

    USH02 does not tell you the date when the user was deleted. It only tells the last time the user logged in the system.
    USH04 will tell when was the user deleted. Since a user cannot login to the system once deleted, USH04 timestamp will be greater than USH02. i.e. the user was deleted after the last login.
    Hope this clarifies

  • The last time an index was used

    Hi to all,
    I would like to know, if there is a way of knowing  the last time an index was used, or what indexes have never been used.

    Hi Eduardo,
    reading through the updates from Thomas and Volker, I was wondering if there was a bug in i5/OS that causes the "Last used date" information in the file description not to be updated properly for indexes. If you have the plan cache dump or database monitor active (i.e. quite current data in ST04), you could do the following to find out if indexes have been used by the SAP system without a proper update in the file description:
    1. List all indexes into a temporary output file:
        DSPFD FILE(R3<sid>DATA/ALL) TYPE(MBR) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE)
              FILEATR(*LF) OUTFILE(QTEMP/DSPFD)
    2. Compare output with database monitor data using STRSQL or SQLUTIL:
        SELECT T1.MBFILE, T1.MBUDAT, T2.QQTIME, T2.QQLIFN
          FROM QTEMP/DSPFD T1, R3<sid>DATA/SQ3001_DB4 T2,
               R3<sid>DATA/SYSINDEXES T3
         WHERE T1.MBFILE = T3.SYSTEM_INDEX_NAME
           AND T3.INDEX_NAME = T2.QQLIFN
         ORDER BY T1.MBUDAT
    If you find indexes, where the "Last Used Date" is smaller than the QQTIME value, you know that the
    file statistics are not updated properly. You could then open a PMR at IBM for that.
    On one of our internal systems I did not see a discrepancy, so it seems to me that the information is correct. Volker's experiences could be explained by the fact that indexes are not just used to implement SQL statements, but also for table statistics. I assume that the "Last used date" is not updated when the index was only used to obtain table statistics. With incomplete statistics, the optimizer may choose a different join order or access method, which can result in poor performance. So there is some risk involved when dropping an index that has a very old "Last used date", and you can only decide it by trying (with care!).
    Kind regards,
    Christian Bartels.

  • Find Last time a procedure was called

    Hi DBAs,
    How to find when a procedure or function was called last time in 10g. For that matter even when a table was last accessed. If this can be done without enabling audit ? are there any such views or tricks to find such changes ?
    Thanks!

    Without auditing, this is not possible as a general rule.
    If a procedure has side effects, you could potentially look through the database to find those side effects. If it inserts a new row in a table with a CREATE_DATE of SYSDATE, that would be very helpful. If you're talking about a function that doesn't have side effects, however, that isn't an option. If the function or procedure runs for a relatively long period of time, its executions may be picked up in an AWR/ statspack report. But it's unlikely that every execution would be captured, it's unlikely that the history is kept particularly long, and it's not always trivial to search these reports for the last time a procedure was executed. And if you have a relatively quick procedure, it's unlikely that executions would ever be recorded.
    Segment-level statistics might give you hints about table accesses. But those statistics are cumulative since the last reboot. And there are likely background processes that touch every table at some interval (i.e. statistics gathering), which probably isn't the sort of "access" you're interested in.

  • How do I get Muse to remember the last directory when accessing files?

    When I use Muse, I can't get it to remember the last directory or folder I used to access site assets. Every time I go back to access another image or document, explorer has me navigate from the "My Documents" folder to my project folder instead of remembering the last folder I accessed for that Site Project (like most software does).
    How do I set Muse to remember my project's folder within a session instead of having me navigate through the My Documents folder back to the project folder every time I want to access a new asset.
    Thanks.

  • When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically import old music files? Last time I got a new computer I didn't have to use an external drive to update my music library.

    When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically important songs from your previous computer? I recently cracked the screen on my computer and cannot access any files. Last time I got a new computer my iTunes media files automatically appeared in my iTunes when I downloaded it, and I did not have to use my external drive. Is this still possible?

    If your backup copy of the old computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.

  • Back up iPhoto 08' for the first time (different than last time I did it)

    The last time I backed up my photo library was before I got iPhoto 08'. I know I should have done it a long time ago and backed things up at least once a week but I kinda got busy. Since my last backup I have also upgraded to Leopard, which yes I did back up my hard drive when I did that, but I also had the advantage of having an IT person personally helping me.
    Today when I went to back up my library things were different. Rather than the old "iPhoto Library" folder that use to be in the pictures section, I just see a single file named "iPhoto Library" and when I click it, it launches iPhoto.
    So my question is how do I back up my library now, and what ever happened to the "Original" and "Modified" folders? What I would really like to do is save my current library on an external with everything intact. Events, Albums, the order I added them in, etc. I want to clear iPhoto out completely and then re-import my current library.
    I should probably mention that on the external hard drive right now is a back up of my old library from before my upgrade to Leopard and it still has the old setup of the iphoto folder and then inside that is the "Original" and "Modified" folders. How should I handle this, just delete it?

    With iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Package File. This is simply a folder that looks like a file in the Finder. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
    Want to see inside? Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
    Look familiar? Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
    What I would really like to do is save my current library on an external with everything intact. Events, Albums, the order I added them in
    Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder to the External. That's it.
    I want to clear iPhoto out completely and then re-import my current library.
    I'm afraid that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If you back up a library then trash it, then restore the selfsame library, how does that constitute a “clear out”?
    I would delete nothing until I had the Maintenance project finished.
    As an Fyi
    There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    *For Users of 10.5 and later*
    You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    (Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
    You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    *For users of 10.4 and later* ...
    Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
    To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
    This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
    If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
    If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
    *If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
    For users of 10.6 and later:
    You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
    For Users of 10.4 and later:
    Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • Database access in a MVC architecture

    Hi!
    I'm a bit confused with regards to where the database access code should be put in a MVC architecture. From reading various articles and posts on this forum, there seem to be a lot of different opinions.
    Some seem to put the database access code in the controller servlet(or JSP), while some seem to use helper classes from the JavaBeans, while a few people even seem to access the database directly from the JavaBean.
    My questions is: What is the best place to put the database stuff in a MVC architecture? An explanation as to why a particular solution is the best would be great..
    Thanks!
    regards,
    Vidar

    Let's say I have a class called Department that contains methods like getName(), getId(), setName(), etc... The Department class is my business object. To save and load Departments from a database, I have a class called DepartmentManager. The DepartmentManager saves and loads the departments to the database, and has methods like saveDepartment(), saveDepartments(), loadDepartment(), getDepartments(), etc... In some cases, my manager classes also caches the results so they don't have to load from the database each time. Often times, the manager class is a singleton. My Department class has no idea how it is persisted, or that it is part of a cache. It just knows about itself. The DepartmentManager is resonsible for managing all the persistance and lookup functionality for Departments.
    Therefore, if I have a JSP page that needs to display Departments, my code might look like:
    DepartmentManager dm = DepartmentManager.getManager();
    ArrayList listDepartments = dm.getDepartmentList();
    for (int i = 0; listDepartments != null && i < listDepartments.size(); i++) {
         Department dept = (Department)listDepartments.get(i);
         out.println("<option value=\"" + dept.getId() + "\">" + dept.getName());
    }If I had a specific Department I needed, I would get it as follows:
    DepartmentManager dm = DepartmentManager.getManager();
    Department dept = dm.getDepartment(nId);

  • How do i store and fetch image from the Database(Access)

    i am facing one problem in inserting the image into the database.the steps i followed as
    1)i have created one database(access) as "Image" and into that one table as "Image" and field as "image"
    type of the field is ole object.
    2)i have inserted one image into the image field through "database.vi"
    3)now i am trying to get the image from the database by "Fetching Example.vi"
    4)it will succesfully retrieve the image from that field .
    5)but when i close the both programs and reopen those that time i am unable to get retrieve the image.

    I would like to suggest different approach for saving the images in the database.
    I was working on Medical Imaging Company. The way we save the images in real-time was by writing the name and path of the images to database.
    The images themselves where saved directly to disk.
    I dont think that access is very good in taking care of GBytes of data.
    It happens some time that the database gets damage. If you have the images separately you can create fix procedure. (We had one).
    Good Lack,
