  • Is there a command line option for VNC to automatically launch in fullscreen mode?

    I can launch a VNC window from the command line, as such:
    open vnc://username:password@hostname
    ... but I'd like it to automatically start in full screen mode. Is there a command line option for this?
    I'm using an old MacMini purely to connect to another Mac over screen sharing, but when the MacMini boots I'd like it to go straight into the fullscreen of the other desktop.
    Many thanks!

    Set the Integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes
    That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen other tabs.

  • Override fullscreen dialog warning

    Hi,
    I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro.
    I'm creating an interactive PDF that needs to launch in fullscreen mode. Is there a way to set the PDF to make sure my clients don't get the fullscreen warning in Reader when they open it? I'm trying to make this as idiot-proof as possible.
    I only found the check box to unselect this in preferences, but I need this to work right out of the starting blocks without them trying to figure out the software and warning boxes make people freak out.
    Thanks,
    JP

    I am getting the same error. Hostname Mismatch
    The laptop is using Java2 and I get the message. My personal laptop uses Java1 and I have no problems.
    What's the best way to get the CN of the server? (That's not my area of expertise)
    Thanks!

  • Watch DVDs on tv from macbook?

    Is there a way to play DVDs on my macbook and view them on my flatscreen HD tv? I purchased the connection cables from the applestore and can watch movies that are downloaded onto the hard drive, but when I try to watch a dvd, it shows on the macbook screen but all that is on the tv is the blank desktop.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!
    Roger

    If DVDPlayer launches in fullscreen
    on your keyboard press "CMD 1" (CMD and 1 simultaneously) -> now DVDPlayer will run in a window
    move that window either to the right or to the left until it appears on your TV set
    Press "CMD F" to enter full screen again

  • Time to RMA?

    My ti4200 is less than a year old and starting having problems earlier this week, it has been crashing repetitively. At first I thought that it may be something else so I clocked my cpu and memory down to stock speeds. No luck. Took the 3rd non-matching stick of ram out (samsung vs 2xkingston). No luck. Uninstalled/reinstalled video drivers. No luck. I then took the videocard and stuck it in my older system, a duron 800/kt7 system. It seemed to work fine, but an hour ago it gave me a nice solid lock. From this, I'm taking it that a rma is needed. The weird thing though, the symptoms are similar to what people used to have with gainward cards. Launching any fullscreen app/game that requires 3d features now gives me a full pink screen. Simply changing the resolution gives a white/pink screen. Pictures:

    System 2

    Figured I'd give an update on the RMA. There's a lot of people on this board that seem to have problems with RMAs. I shipped out the 13th, it arrived on the 19th, 6 days passed with no contact from MSI but I received an email with a tracking number on the 25th (yesterday) and its due to be delivered next monday, December 1st. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe its because I RMA'd a videocard instead of a motherboard (what most people seem to be doing on here) but so far, all is looking good. Now to see what they send me back/if it works properly.

  • Video playback "choppy" when play 2 full HD videos together

    Hi,
    Recently I have a project that is to have 2 full HD video playback on 2 full HD resolution monitors. I am using flex in Air by having 2 windows opened when the program is launched, auto fullscreen on both monitor and then play videos. The videos are in f4v format. But the problem is the video playback is "choppy" when playback 2 full HD video together. My development PC is Corei7 920 with Geforce GTS250. This project will actually runs on Corei7 2600 with intel graphic chipset PC which I haven't test on the performance.
    How can I solve the "choppy" playback issue? Thanks.

    Flash Player full-screen video is an intensive process, but because it's running in a 32-bit environment it doesn't really help if the hardware has loads of extra RAM and multi-core processors. As you're using the decoupled version of the Acrobat Family, it only has an impact in terms of the decompression of the stream data when the annotation first activates.
    What is the original video spec?
    Are your rich media annotations set to deactivate automatically when the user moves to the next page? By default they deactivate only when the user context-clicks, so you can have a series of inactive-but-loaded instances fighting for attention.

  • Stage has wrong fullScreen sizes when launched in adl

    Actually this problem only occurs when these two properties are set in the descriptor file:
    <aspectRatio>landscape</aspectRatio>
    <autoOrients>false</autoOrients>
    As aspected the stage has the following correct properties:
    stage.autoOrients  –>  false
    stage.deviceOrientation  –>  rotatedLeft
    But the values for the fullScreen size values are (iPad screen size):
    stage.fullScreenHeight  –>  1024
    stage.fullScreenWidth  –>  768
    So although the deviceOrientation is set to a landscape aspect ratio, the values for fullScreenWidth and fullScreenHeight do not reflect this. The odd thing is that this does not apply when the same application is launched on the device – in this case iPad3 (normal resolution). Then the values are correct:
    stage.fullScreenHeight  –>  768
    stage.fullScreenWidth  –>  1024
    When I launch adl I set the following two properties:
    -profile extendedMobileDevice -screensize iPad
    It seems that although the descriptor file sets the aspect ratio to landscape adl sets the stage values initially to the default/normal aspect ratio in portrait orientation. It gets really weird when I set the screen sizes explicitly like this:
    -profile extendedMobileDevice -screensize 1024x768:1024x768
    Then window adl launches is in portrait orientation but the fullScreen sizes are correct! I did a very quick search online but could find anything regarding this issue. Is it known? Does a bug report already exist?
    I should add that I'm running on OS X 10.7.4 with the latest Air SDK added to the latest Flex SDK (Flex 4.6.0.23201B, Air 3.3). I haven't tested other Air versions and neither did I run any tests on a PC.

  • How to launch sw file in default fullscreen mode

    Hi,
    I want to execute .swf or output flash file in fullscreen mode. Is there any property for it?

    Hi Swati,
    You can try following code snippet:
    <mx:Application width="{Capabilities.screenResolutionX}" height="{Capabilities.screenResolutionY}" />
    or
    on creationComplete event
    public function onCreationComplete():void
         this.width = Capabilities.screenResolutionX;
         this.height = Capabilities.screenResolutionY;
    Thanks.

  • How to I get iPhoto to stop opening in fullscreen mode?

    Every time I open iPhoto, it opens in fullscreen mode. It's as if there is a setting that has been set for it to do it(though I've checked the settings and there's no such thing). I usually exit fullscreen mode in the usual way and it cooperates, but then sure enough, the next time I open it up, it's in fullscreen mode again. Additionally, perhaps it is linked to this problem, everytime I open iPhoto, it tells me that "iPhoto has detected inconsistencies in your[my] library" and that I should "click Repair to avoid any potential problems". I've clicked repair numerous times but it still gives me the same message the next time I start the program. I've tried deleting the iPhoto plist file and that has not helped either.
    Another side note that may be similar is that Terminal always opens in fullscreen just like iPhoto.

    Alright, I fixed the problem!
    A more in depth description of the process, some credit for its origins, why it works, and how else you can use it can be found here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17269094#17269094
    But basically, you do the following:
    1. Navigate to "~/Library/Saved Application State/"
    2. Find "com.apple.iPhoto.savedState"
    3. Move it to the Trash
    4. Launch iPhoto
    Also, to solve the issue involving "Repairing" the Library, I had to navigate to the file "iPhoto library" (in ~/Users/dro8654/Pictures) and edit its "Sharing & Permissions" preferences such that only MY user was allowed to "Read & Write"
    This discussion was what helped me with this:

  • Problem with Projector and Fullscreen

    Hi,
    Can anyone confirm a problem with fullscreen in the latest
    player 9,0,115,0:
    When I use getURL to launch a browser window, or make an exec
    call with
    fscommand, the standalone projector jumps out of fullscreen.
    quote:
    fscommand("fullscreen", true);
    and
    quote:
    on(release){
    getURL("
    http://www.mylink.com",
    "_blank");
    I'm using CS3.
    Any ideas?

    I dont know really but i read here
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/first_as3_application.html
    they the getURL() function was removed from CS3 and the new is
    URLRequest(); Try with this one i get it from the upper link
    import flash.net.*;
    var url = "www.google.com";
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
    try {
    navigateToURL(request);
    catch (e:Error) {
    // Handle error...

  • Thumbnails lost contact with originals in iPhoto '09 (8.1.2.) – can't view fullscreen or edit!

    Over the past days my headache over the iPhoto '09 library has gone from bad to worse.
    Starting with a few albums and events from last year, iPhoto has stopped displaying some photos (mainly landscape-oriented photos, upright photos seem to be working fine most of them) in fullscreen, edit mode and slideshows.
    Browsing through the apple community I've realized that this issue may be due to thumbnails losing contact with original photos. Indeed, I can't seem to export photos to desktop or any other location. "Show original file" or "show file" only opens an empty Finder window, doesn't connect with the Picture folder or anything.
    I've also tried entering the Library manually from another working photo, and can't seem to locate a number of pics. It seems the originals are simply lost.
    Some of the missing pictures are irreplacable (like my son's birth!).
    I'd be INCREDIBLY THANKFUL for any advice on how to save these photos.
    Cheers/ AB

    The simple and surefire solution is to restore from back up.
    If files are missing then that's the only solution.
    To rebuild the Library:
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • How do I make quicktime movies Fullscreen in iWeb?

    How do I make quicktime movies Fullscreen in iWeb? Can anyone help me please?

    You have to create a QTL file that opens the QT movie in the player. Based on the settings it opens in Full Screen.
    You may want to read this:
    [QuitTime Tutorials and more|http://www.apple.com/quicktime>
    [Launching QuickTime Player from a Text Link |http://developer.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/QT4WebPage/samplechap/speci al-11.html]
    An alternative is to publish your movies to Vimeo and embed the movie in your page. These movies can play full screen.
    Or use DivX of Flash Video.

  • How do I get out of the fullscreen of death?

    Hi,
    Hoping someone alse has experienced this and come up with a solution:
    I've lost control of Aperture and don't know what to do. I'm running Aperture 3.3.2 and Mac OSX 10.7.5(11G56) on a 15 inch mid-2010 MBP.
    I inadvertently pressed some combination of keys and here's where I am now. It's a black screen with just the Aperture toolbar popping in and out as I movet he mouse cursor to the top. Tool tips appear, but buttons are non responsive.
    Pressing 'F' doesn't do any thing and I cannot press the double arrow button on the upper right to exit full screen. Left/right keys don't switch pictures as I'd expect. Only two keys provide response:
    The [ESC] key brings me to a blank textil- textured screen where 'F' toggles between this and a screenfull of thumbnails.
    The Aperture menu appears on the left part of this thumbnail screen(along with my widgets and the date, time and log in name on the right side), but is inaccessible(no mouse response). Only the widgets on the upper right of the menu bar react to mouse clicks.
    'F' toggles between this and the first screen.
    I can only get out of these screens by swiping four fingers to move to another desktop.
    So how do I get out of this full screen of death?
    Hoping for a solution
    Fullscreened to death,
    Benny

    Benny,
    Where do I find the plist file? It's not in HD/library/prferences?
    you have to look in the user preferences, not the system preferences:
    The user preferences are hidden by default; reveal them from the Finder's "Go" menu:
    Quit Aperture, if it is running:
    Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
    In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
    From the "Preferences" folder  remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
    Then try to launch Aperture again.
    Regards
    Léonie

  • How to launch a single URL in a locked windowed-kiosk mode?

    We need to launch a specific URL in Firefox in a windowed-kiosk mode.
    If this can be done via a command-line that would be great. The Company want to restrict the use of the browser to this one specific URL and only allow close controls on the opened app window.
    Is this possible?
    Any help much appreciated!

  • When in fullscreen mode, bottom of Firefox window ends where Windows Taskbar would be, were it not in autohide mode.

    Firefox version: 4
    Windows Version: XP-SP3 (automatic updates)
    My Windows Taskbar is in autohide mode.
    When I launch Firefox in windowed mode and maximize the window, it takes up the entire screen.
    When I move my mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen, the Windows Taskbar pops up.
    When I select Fullscreen mode in Firefox, the top of the window behaves as it should: Menus disappear, and the toolbar area autohides, reappearing when I move my mouse pointer to the top of the screen.
    The bottom of the Firefox window, however, jumps up to where it would be if the Windows Taskbar were not in autohide mode, leaving a black space. While I can move my cursor over this black space, when I reach the bottom of the screen, the Windows taskbar will not unhide, forcing me to use the Windows button if I want to execute some other command.
    If I minimize the Firefox window, then select it from the taskbar, it returns to fullsceen mode and takes up the entire screen (no more black space), but I still cannot get the Windows Taskbar to pop up by moving my cursor to the bottom of the screen.
    While it may seem nit-picky, this is a dealbraker for me. I set Firefox to run in Fullscreen mode, and expect it to do so properly, without having to go through all of these steps. Furthermore, since I use Windows Start button for everything (my desktop has nothing on it but the Recycle Bin), I often use it while browsing (launching other applications, using the Control Panel, or looking through filesystem, among others).
    I am extremely pleased with all other aspects of the browser, right down to the toolbar area not disappearing when my mouse pointer happens to slide off of it after I place my cursor in the search box, and while I would be sad to lose all of these improvements, I will return to Version 3 if I must.
    Thank you very much for your time.
    ~David Morrissey~

    I'm sorry, it seems I spoke too soon. The original problem is back: Black stripe at the bottom of the screen. :-(
