Sequence programming in a diagram as a control element

Hello,
i want to program a sequence in a diagram. That means (for example on x-axis: time on y-axis: frequency): a frequency begins at time 1sec with 3 Hz ... then i set a point in the diagram at x 1 and y 3.
The frequency will raise and at time 10 sec it will be at 10 Hz ... so i set the second point at x 10 y 10. etc. A line will be drawn from 1,3 to 10,10.
Then i set a new point for the new frequency and time etc.
Maybe i'm searching for not with the right words, but i couldn't find a similar example for this as a control element in LabView.
Does anybody have some ideas how i can realize this in LabView?

From your description, it sounds that all you need is a 2D array passed into a for loop.

No volume control elements and/or devices found

Hi, I recently installed Arch Linux and I followed the tutorials on how to configure it. At this moment I have Gnome installed and it is working fine, I only have one problem.
Every time if I try to access volume control I get the following error:
"No volume control elements and/or devices found"
I'm relatively new to Linux so it might be me just being stupid(Maybe I just don't have the right packages installed) but I've searched the web and I didn't find anything that could help, I also searched this site but there are only a few things about sound problems. I think the problem is caused because Linux is not detecting my sound card (its an on board sound card) or maybe I have not given the command to detect it/activate it. In Google I've found that 'lsmod' and 'lspci' commands are for detecting drivers, so I executed those in my terminal and put them here, I hope this might help fixing my problem.

Due to Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer I uninstalled the program. When I re-installed Photoshop Elements 12 on the same computer the "Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe" file is not available. I have tried loading Photoshop Elements 12 from the Adobe web site

The Elements 12 shortcut can't find the Elements12.0.exe file so the program will not load. I can load the editor from its .exe file but not the organizer.

I have winzip but cannot download Photoshop Elements 11. Is there another program that I need to do this? Apparently the file archive part of the adobe Photoshop Elements 11 is missing. How do I get that part? I did get a message from WinZip that "Error Loading Sourse Application Ribbon". .

When I try that link, I get permission denied. Furthermore, I have no idea what the seven steps you are referring to are. I have tried other ways to access the trial for Photoshop 11 and all I get is the download to the Download folder. I have not found any way to cause it to progress any further. That is only two steps. I have tried to use WinZip to de-compress the file but that does not work. In my efforts I have ended up with downloading the trial for Elements 12 both Photoshop and Premiere. That seems to work. But of course I will have to pay for that after a month and reorganize the files. There is something definitely wrong with the download of Photoshop Elements 11 that should be corrected.
I do appreciate the efforts that you have made in assisting me in this matter. However, there is a problem that should be corrected so that someone else does not run in to the hours of lost time I have spent on this.
By the way, I still have to download the Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro. Apparently that is no longer available. The new down load for Acrobat pro is about $200.00. That is pricy for a program that I use about 6 or 7 times a year.
As you know I became driven to these re-installations because of the required upgrading my Operating System from Windows XP to Windows 7. That requires deletion of all programs and their reinstallation. This would not be a problem if the original Adobe programs had been supported by CD disks. Without the disks, I can only hope that Adobe will support the re-download of the programs. Though that was available with Elements 11, It does not work. It is not likely there is a problem with my equipment or Operating System because Adobe is the only one I have had difficulty with. I should point out that I use many different programs for teaching, safety and navigation from Large companies and small. You have good products, however, your support has been disappointing.

Why does Lab View add control elements to some driver VI's!

I have downloaded a driver project that was developed with Lab View 2009sp1. Now I will this project use with LV2010.
To do this I have the library installed in instr.lib. But when I opened some VI's I discovered that Lab View have added control elements.
Why is it so and how can I stop this behaviour?

Surely that didnt just happen because you saved it in 2010. You downloaded a new set of drivers for 2010 from here: http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=AFAA2CBD85041C96E04400144F1EF8...
The second driver has more features.
Also, note that the two modes are different, in the second case you are specifying the current where as the first one is a constant current configuration for the load.

How can a block/freeze a ring or enum control element when I Boolean signal is set?

Hello! I am still a starter with LabView (working with 6.1).
On the Front Panel of my VI the operator can use a ring control element to choose some (6) options. I am searching a way to block the scroll down menu of this ring element when a Boolean Signal is set. Only when this Boolean Signal is false, my operator should have the possibility to chance the ring or enum element.
Is this possible?

What Gerd meant was that you need to create a property node. Right click on the control or the terminal and select Create>>Property Node. Then, select the Disabled property, right click it and change to write and set the value you want (0, 1 or 2). You can change the boolean to a number by using Boolean to 0:1 from the Boolean palette. This property is common to all controls, not just rings.
To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

Is there a Discrete PID algorithm for digital final control element? This is used to turn on one digital output for a positive move and another digital output for a negative move.

I have a couple of questions for you. Are you using LabVIEW? And if you are what version? Also, are you using any toolkits or modules.
I know that there is a Discrete PID VI in the FPGA module. Here is the link to some information about that specific VI.

Can't add a program to an account in parental controls

I'm a teacher who recently received a number of IMacs. I've set up a parental controlled account using only simple finder. I've also only allowed certain programs to be accessed via their account. My problem is that I've added the program Digicel Flipbook and want them to be able to use it. Unfortunately, it doesn't show up as one of the programs to be allowed. I've logged in and out, trying to give the students read write permissions, but it still doesn't show up. I don't want them to have full access to finder, especially with some of the built in programs that they can mess around with. Also, when we installed the program, we just dragged it into the apps folder, but it wasn't installed as a .dmg extension. It just started out as a .zip file. I don't know if this is part of the problem, but might as well throw in all the info I can. Thanks.

The fact that it's a .zip file doesn't matter—OS X can handle those just fine.
I do have a question, though. I just downloaded, installed, and played around with Flipbook, and I note that if you haven't unzipped the file, Parental Controls won't allow you to add it. Have you already unzipped it?
If you have (and it still doesn't show up), you can drag the program's icon (not the whole folder) within the Parental Controls "check the applications to allow" window. Once you drag it there, just type "flip" into the small Spotlight bar right above the window, and it should be in there.

Program monitor changes size when Motion controls change. Turn this off please?

Hi. I'm running Premiere Pro CC on a fairly new (~6 mo old) iMac with 16 GB ram, SSD, Mavericks, the works. Everything's been great so far.
However, I'm having an issue whenever I use the Motion Effect Controls in the Program monitor/timeline. Any time I change a position or scale, the program monitor jumps from 16:9 to 4:3, and doesn't display any type of screen safe, so I have no idea where I'm actually placing/moving the item. This is a real bother, and it never was an issue before. Can I turn this off? Please help!

I've never seen anything like that. I don't know how you'd even make it start!

Change Diagram Type in Control Chart in QE51N

I'm using the QE51N to record the results.
I press the Control Chart Button and it's OK.
I change the Diagram Type from "Lines" to "XY" (Dispersion), but the change isn't keep it for the other characteristics, or if another day I execute the QE51N the Diagram type remains like "Lines"
Is it possible to change the diagram type and keep it forever? I have used the "Save Mode" button but doesn't work.

Accessing third party programs for managed accounts w/parental controls

Hello - I am trying to set up a managed account for a child. I have installed some third party software. When I attempt to allow access under parental controls to this software, while I can see it under the parental control screen (eg, using System Preferences), when this account is actually accessed, the program does not appear.
I've had many problems in the past with parental controls, and would appreciate any sources, tutorials, etc on the matter!

A post in the link FromOZ provided held the answer.
Currently there seems to be an issue with Profile Manager and Admin account etc. According to the other thread so long as you use, user profiles the problem exists. One user in the other thread put forth that they stoped using user profiles and were using device profiles. Which seemed to fix the issue. I can confim removing all user profiles and only using device profile solves the issue.
What I did was create a group just for each user place all there devices into that group and never touch the individual user profile again.
Maybe this will help someone I dont know but maybe. Its a bit of a pain in the rear but now I have dictation fixed. Heres hoping the next verison of Server fixes this.
ps.. This was a perliminary test of just a few things like VPN, WIFI, and a few settings. I dont expect it to change once, I get more indepth.

Program crashes when using Cwui.ocx controls

My program (using controls from cwui.ocx) runs without any problems on Polish version of NT (on Win2K also). When I try to create any controls on German version of NT4.0 (SP 6.0a, VS C++ 6.0 with SP 5.0) it crashes imediately. Why? ( of course cwui.ocx was registered in OS using regsrv32).

Right away, I can tell you that Polish and German OSes are not readily available to most of the Application Engineers that field your questions. What I can recommend doing is this: go to www.ni.com/ask and send in an e-mail to one of the engineers here. Include as much information, and maybe even your code, if that is at all possible. If they do not find an immediate solution, which I haven't been able to locate thus far, they will be able to get a hold of the R&D department to see if they can evaluate t
his issue.
Off hand, it seems like an OS conflict, but R&D will be able to confirm that for you. So, I would recommend pursuing that route and we will endeavor to get your issue addressed as quickly as possible.
