Launch skype via navigateToURL

Hello!
I tried to launch skype out of my AIR app when the user clicks on a label filled with a phonenumber.
But AIR restricts the use of the URL "skype:".
Is there any workaround or can I change anything in the security settings to enable it?
If not: @Adobe: are there any plans to enable all registered URL-types like "skype:" etc. for use in Adobe AIR? I guess it works in a browser-based Flash app?
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards
Andy

  • Clicks in CRM 2013 to call via Lync always seem to launch Skype

    Hello
Several users are having an issue; despite disabling Skype click to call (and even uninstalling Skype!) every phone number they click to call in the CRM (i.e. clicking it); rather than launching Lync; instead launches Skype

  • Using Skype via WiFi in Europe

The Skype app on my Verizon (Droidx) phone will not allow me to access wifi networks.  It forces me to use the Verizon network.  I understand that.  My question, however, is what happens when I take the phone to Europe and try to use Skype via wifi there?
Will the Skype app STILL refuse to let me use a wifi connection?  Or does it "Know" I am no longer in a Verizon area and allow me to use wifi?   (I experimented by putting my phone in 'airplane' mode, then turning on the wifi.  Other apps connect fine, but Skype app won't allow a wifi connection.  So the mere absence of a Verizon signal does not permit the use of Wife).  Can anybody answer this question?
    Thanks!
    David

Yes - just as you in the US. Just don't forget timezones!

  • Facebook skype via Safari

I have been using facebook skype via Safari.  Recently a message has been shown to say that I must download and use Google Chrome instead.  Do you know why?

Either it's a scam, or it's Facebook admitting that its web developers are too incompetent to support more than one browser. You would have to find out from Facebook support which is the case.

  • Android Beta client refuses to launch RemoteApp via URI scheme

Android Beta (8.1.7) client refuses to accept following URI: "rdp://full%20address=s:fqdn&remoteapplicationmode=i:1&remoteapplicationprogram=s:%7C%7Ccalc" with the error message "The RDP file is not valid. Notify your network administrator."
But it can launch RemoteApp via equivalent RDP file:
    full address:s:fqdn
    remoteapplicationmode:i:1
    remoteapplicationprogram:s:||calc

    Hi,
For URI scheme, please try to use “:” instead of “=” (equal sign) and recheck result.
    Thanks.

  • Segfault when launching skype 4.3

    Hi,
I've installed the latest version available (4.3.0.37-3), following the instructions of the friendly and helpful wiki[1], on a 64bit laptop with the multilib repository enabled and a working PulseAudio.
    pacman -Syyu
says everything is up to date.
I'm having problems getting rid of a segmentation fault I experience when I try to launch skype. I've fiddled with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC, I've everything else I saw on the wiki or the web that seemed applicable. I do not have ~/.Skype.

The new version of lib32-qt4 is to blame, so this will downgrade to the previous version available.
That is not a solution, that is a temporary workaround.
ok, I confirm this temporary workaround work.
We can assume that "lib32-qt4 4.8.7-1" cannot be used, so any new upgrade can be made only when a new version will be available.

  • SKYPE via FRING works 100% on E61i

Pending you have a SIM free (unlocked) E61i (or at least your service provider hasn't blocked VoIP connections as Orange do with the new Blackberry 8320), then this maybe of interest:
Fring, giving you Skype/messenger and others works 100% on the new E61i.
This will allow you to use your E61i for free VoIP calls/texts using Skype via WiFi.
Just go to here: http://www.fring.com/download/ enter the make, model your number & country, wait until you get a text, open, then connect to either 3G or WiFi, install the files (say yes to everything), enter your Skype user name and then password and enjoy Skype on your Nokia. I said no to auto start up and assigned the Own Key for Fring/Skype.
    Works a treat!

  • Contacting skype via email regarding payment issue

I would like someone to contact me via email regarding the following issue:
I received a notification my account with Skype has been canceled.  I surmise that for some reason or another Citibank has not been sending payment via electronic payment per my contract with SKYPE.
I have contacted Citibank just now via email, sending then the following message.
(please email me back with your contact phone numbers so I can resolve this unfortunate incident or issue which I have first heard about an hour ago via an email to me from SKYPE)
Received this from your accounting operations.
Something wrong here as the payments are suppose to be make automatically when they g3et near the ten dollar mark.
I have not been following payment as it has been done automatically-and this is the first notification.
How can this be?  This amount shown is very strange and very incredulous to be this high unless Citibank Guam Visa has been not paying the amounts when charged by SKYPE.
Obviously if this is true, for about the past five or so months by my estimate this has been happening.
What is perplexing is that the credit card is still good and ca not understand how it was’t paid.
Could you send me the past 2012 payments so I can see what has been going on?
I will send this on to Citibank as an inquiry.
Anyway, I do not want to cancel my SKYPE account.
    Thank you.

    Hi there     Alan Sokoloff,
    Problem with your payment
Unfortunately, your payment failed, but don’t worry, we didn’t deduct   any money from your card.
    Here are your order details:
    Skype Name: alan.sokoloff4
      Total amount: $71.28
      Transaction date: Jan 28, 2013
      Order number: [removed for privacy]
      Order status: Refused
    Why was my payment refused?
Reasons for your card payment failing can be:1. You entered the wrong   details. Make sure you have the correct details and try again. You didn't   have enough money on your card. Make sure you have enough money before you   try again. You might be using an anonymous proxy or proxy server to access   the internet, which we don't allow during the purchase process. Skype is   always doing its best to protect you from any kind of fraud. Sometimes this   can cause perfectly legitimate purchases to be refused.
    What can I do?
We recommend using another card or one of our other payment methods   such as Skrill, one-off bank transfer or retail vouchers. View the different ways to pay for Skype products.

  • Launch application via run menu rather than dos...possible?

    hi,
we're trying to find a way to launch a application, such as MS Word, from our java app via the run menu in start menu, rather than through dos. currently our program reads the start menu and gets the lnk file paths, the problems is that it displays them as:
    C:\WIN98_SE\start menu\programs\Microsoft Word.lnk
    but dos needs them as:
    C:\WIN98_SE\startm~1\programs\Micros~3.lnk
so to execute it from java we would need to write it as:
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("start C:\\WIN98_SE\\startm~1\\programs\\MICROS~3.lnk");
since we're doing this dynamically we can't be sure if the user will have office professional, home, or any other version, so this means that for some micros~3 might be micros~1, not sure which number will be attached at the end. but if we are able to launch it from the run command in the start menu then typing:
    C:\WIN98_SE\start menu\programs\Microsoft Word.lnk
    will work.
    Thanks.

    You should try this:
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("command /C \"C:\\WIN98_SE\\start menu\\programs\\Microsoft Word.lnk\" "); with Win98
    orRuntime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /C \"C:\\WINNT\\Documents and Settings\\user-name\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Microsoft Word.lnk\" "); with Win2000 prof.
/C - Carries out the command specified by string and then terminates
I tested only the second one because I don't have access to a win98 system.
Let me know if this solves your problem.
    Regards
    BG

  • Skype via 3G not showing on data usage?

I live in the US and received a skype call from a buddy in Greece. We're both using our iPhones. I'm on 3G...he is on wi-fi. We had a 5min call, but when I check AT&T data usage, I don't see any data usage that reflects my skype call using 3G. How is that?

From the call receivers point of view, a Skype call to a mobile or landline appears to be just another phone call, and is subject to any local charges you may have to pay to receive calls (you'll probably pay to receive calls if you were outside your home country). A Skype call doesn't require the person called to have Skype installed, or to have a data connection, as the routing of the call is done via the Internet, but ultimately the call is connected the same way as any other call - through the telecoms network.
If you call someone, you'll need the WiFi connection or 3G to make the call, in which case it'll show up as data usage if 3G is used.
You'll probably find that your Greek friend will pay a small charge per minute to Skype (perhaps a few cents of a Euro per minute) to make the call, but it is very cheap, even to international mobiles. Skype in turn may pay a fraction of this charge to AT&T to connect the call for you, and to your iPhone it'll probably look like it's a local call rather than an international one.
Check out the Skype pages for more info on how this works.

I have solved the error by installing Desktop Experience Feature in Windows 2008
To resolve this problem, install the Desktop Experience feature of Windows Server 2008. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Server Manager.
In Server Manager, click Add Features under Features Summary.
In the Add Features Wizard dialog box, make sure that the Desktop Experience option is selected.
Click Next, and then click Install.
After the installation process is complete, click Close, and then close Server Manager.
Note After you install Desktop Experience, you have to restart the computer.

  • Mission Control won't a launch (except via Launchpad)

I updated this morning from SL to Mt Lion.  I wanted to set up Spaces (similar to what I had in SL) and I found that it's now done via Mission Control.  I've tried the various FKey ways (F3, F9) to launch Mission Control directly but the only way I could bring it up was to fire up Launchpad and then click the MC icon there -- or by assigning it to a hot-spot corner.
I've now set up my 8 Spaces so I guess I don't need to open Mission Control much and could probably live with bringing it up via Launchpad or the assigned hot spot.  But I'm curious about why it's not being invoked via the FKeys.  Any ideas?

    Try deleting the com.apple.systempreferences.plist.
You need to look in your user Library/Preferences for the .plist. Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.
Log out/in and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your User library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
    Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.
If it soved the problem, you will probably have to reset some of your Preferences.
