Launchd Item and Mobile Users

Hi,
I have two scripts designed to run at login, both are launchd items in the /Library/Launch Agents folder that run scripts. When a standard user logs in, they work fine, the problem I have is when a Mobile User logs in the for the first time, the scripts don't work, on each log in after that, they are fine. But on the initial login it is important that these scripts work.
The error console gives me says the "lauchnd item exited with code 1" and the next line says that "application Terminal could not be found"
Like i said the next log in they work fine. Both scripts are designed to run through terminal.
Does any one have any advice? If you need more info don't hesitate to ask.

It points to a script for launching our Cymphonix agent.. the Cymphonix agent runs a script in Terminal to log it in etc.. when it attempts to launch this i get the error described above. the error in console shows as follows.

Not all services use it. Time Machine Server does, and I'm not sure which others. FTP is not controlled by Server.app.

Aperture 3 and Mobile User Accounts: Don't even think about it

Hi all.
This is more a warning to other with a similar setup than anything else.
I use both a desktop mac and a portable.
As so, and since I have a Mac Mini Server, my user is what Apple calls a "Mobile User".
Basically what it does is this: it allows me to have my user on both macs always in sync.
To be certain that no file would be locked out by an open app, I have it to sync on login and logout only.
Strangely enough Apple own Aperture 3 doesn't sync.
It simply shows a generic error and that's it.
I call tell that I've made some extensive tests regarding the syncing process and no matter what it never works.
It doesn't matter if Aperture is closed, if the syncing is made on the login or the logout... nothing!
As a curiosity, not directly related with this specific problem, I can also confirm that the full library package is seen as a single file to the sync agent, so even a simple open and close of the app is enough to make it try to re-sync the entire thing, instead of doing the proper thing and copy only the modified files inside of it.
That means that even without this error it would be inpratical to work with Aperture 3 since that would mean having a nice library of quite a few gigabytes syncing every time that I tried to log out of my user session.
I sure hope that Apple can find a way to make their own pro photo app and their server software work together.
But until there... it's back iPhoto for me.

I assume that the OS doesn't have any problem with packages since they are used pretty much elsewhere and they are basically a folder with a specific file inside that "forces" the OS to show us as a single file, instead of letting us see directly the content.
Even the new disk image format that Apple recommends to be used in order to speed up Time Machine backups (.sparcebundle) is based in package (or bundles, whatever you prefer to call them)
The main issue here might be the folder structure inside.
If you do a "show package content" and, for instance, check the thumbnails folder, I can easily see some chars that might create some confusion if not properly escaped during the sync, like on this example:
My Aperture.aplibrary/Thumbnails/%pARYo%fT52I77jmdf8mqQ/AP.Thumbnails
(Those "%" are so prone to errors if not properly handled)
Time Machine doesn't have any problem with both packages and those chars, so I truly hope that they use TM tech and improve the way that the syncing agent work.
Anyways, Aperture seemed a nice app.
I'm really sad that I can't use it because of this... specially when I'm considering getting a new digital camera.
I understand that it was recently released so let's hope that Apple can figure out what's happening and release an update (to either Aperture or Mac OS X Server) in the next few months.

Login.keychain and mobile user accounts

After removing a corrupt login.keychain file in a mobile user account, the user could no longer log in to their account when off site. What account login information is kept in the keychain file of a mobile account?

DVR Upgrade; Remove Old DVRs from List on Web and Mobile User Interfaces

I have upgraded two HD DVRs to the hardware with more storage space. The new DVRs appear on the list of available DVRs on both the web and mobile applications for DVR management. The old, uninstalled DVRs also continue to appear. How can I remove the old DVRs from these lists?

Provided you returned the old DVR's using the materials and instructions that should have been provided when you received your new units, the old DVR's should disappear from your account in a week or two after they've been received and processed by Verizon. I just renamed mine to "Returned" or something like that so that I would know to ignore them until they went away.
If it takes more than one full billing cycle and they still haven't disappeared, then I'd call to find out why they are still in your account (i.e. have your tracking information ready because it sounds like they may have gotten lost along the way).

How to print out document list items (and with all comments!)

Hi all,
I am wondering how to get a good printout of document lists.
In a web application I have some document list items and the users are adding many comments in it, so that the document list item doenst show all in the initial view, but scroll buttons to navigate up and down.
I was surprised to read that the standard print functionality doesnt support document items.

Your form is not shared so I have not been able to access it. But I have updated mine. There are now two approaches, one that follows on from the above method and updates each drop down list in each row. The second updates a separate dataset that the drop down list is bound to. This second approach requires the remerge() method which can cause problems if your code has updates some form properties like a borders color as these will be reset, but the code is simplier and you will only have one list to maintain. The add button click code is;

Mobile users are not in login list, and OD settings don't apply until after login

Good morning all,
One of my organization's users has an iMac running Lion, and it's bound to both Active Directory and Open Directory. I have his workstation's OD account in a group that is configured to create a mobile user when logging into a network account, and to display the login screen as a username and password instead of a list of users. He uses an AD user account to log in.
The first hangup is that even though OD is set to display a username and password box for the login screen, when I turn on or reboot the machine, it displays a list of users instead. If I log into one of the users, and then immediately log out, it works perfectly - I get the username and password boxes, but only after I log into the machine once. If I reboot, I end up right back at the list of users.
The second hangup is that when I get this list of users, no mobile accounts appear. This means that the mobile account associated with my client's AD account does not appear at the login screen on first boot. Moreover, the "Other..." button does not appear, either, even after a substantial time delay.
The sum result of these problems is that the only way that my client can log into his machine immediately after boot is to log in to a temporary local account I created for him, then log out and use the username and password boxes to log in to his AD account. Any suggestions?

Obsolete and batch users can receive work items

Dear Experts,
Currently, we have found a problem that obsolete and batch users can receive work items by manual forwarding from someone. The roles and responsibilities of obsolete users were removed and users have been locked. For Batchuser, it's only created for some certain job with limited roles.
Could you help advise if this's a behavior of workflow or it's from some authorization problem? We have concern for business impact since no one is really handling work items and important messages are out of sight.

Hello,
This is standard behaviour. It is even possible to send work items to users who do not yet exist (e.g. someone who is due to join the company).
The easiest way to workaround is to set up a substitution for any users that get locked and for background users. Personal substitutes can be maintained directly in table HRUS_D2, you could possibly write your own maintenance transaction for this if it is to be an ongoing issue.

One of the user is unable to remove obsolete Tags from new work items and search query

Hi I am new to TFS Administration, User has some obsolete Tags in TFS site which is removed on the Backlogs but user can see those tags when he is creating new work items and while querying the Work Items but he is not able to see any obsolete tags in Backlogs.
TFS version: TFS 2013 SP2
Steps followed:
we queried each tags, we see 0 work items associated with the tags
As per MSDN, we have to remove associated tags which automatically removes the Tags after 3 days
The user is facing the same from past week
Am i missing something? or will the list of Tags be available in new work items and querying WITs? Please help

How to specify default desktop and/or startup items for EVERY user login?

The iMac I use at the university where I work connects to Active Directory for authentication - there are no local user logins (apart from the admin account of course).
I'd like to know how to set the default items for all user logins. Specifically, I'd like the system to automatically create an alias on the desktop to a shared folder for every new user login, or automatically open that folder in Finder when logged in.
Though I'm the main user, if I'm not around other people may require access to the stuff I do for the multitude of projects I work on for a department of 30 people, and as everyone else uses a PC and only a few are Mac savvy, I'd like to make it as easy as possible for the poor dears to find the files. (We have a shared network drive where I can put some stuff but unfortunately our allocation is not very big!)

OS X Server - Mobile User - cookies.sqlite and places.sqlite

Hi.
We have OS X Server running our Mobile User Accounts and HomeSync back to the server in the background.
All the users have problems with the same 2 files not being able to be backed up - belonging to firefox: the cookies.sqlite and places.sqlite file.
Please help if you can.

I am discovering the same issue. I have come to the same conclusion as you and am terribly disappointed. Did you have any luck figuring this out? Did you submit a bug report?
There is still one factor I am trying to isolate. Is the version of Pages (or other iWork app) being used downloaded from the Apple Store or installed from a DVD?

SMS API(WMA) is an optional package. It is not a MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0 api's.
There are phones which has WMA api with MIDP1.0 support .... Nokia 3650
Seimens has some phone with their own api's to send sms.Check out seimens site for more info
BTW, What do you mean buy sending SMS to Server????
If you want to send message to server you can do it with Http.
