Launching weblogic domain from Jdeveloper

I'm using Oracle Jdeveloper 11g. I could not able to lauch a newly created weblogic domain from JDeveloper IDE. I could able to run only the DefaultDomain, which is created by default?
Is there any way to run the weblogic domain other than the DefaultDomain from the JDeveloper.

Just gave it a try. You can easily implement this in 2 minutes for Start and Stop of one WLS domain.
But it is awfully slow. Better you start them by other means.

  • Run 2 Weblogic domains from the same console

    Hi
    I have a question.
Currently now i have 2 domains, each domain was installed with Admin server and managed servers.
    I have 1 nodemanager.
During the installation of the domains i had to provide different ports for the weblogic instances, so i have 2 different consoles to access the WL to manage domains.
    The question:
Is there any way to handle and admin 2 different domains (which running on the same machine) from same WL console ?
    Thanks

We do not have a way to administer two weblogic domains from same console.
But,I think you can install Oracle Enterprise Manager to manage your middleware infrastructure.

  • How to upgrade weblogic domain from 10.3.2 to 10.3.6, with em modules

I have upgraded the 10.3.2 Weblogic domain to 10.3.6 Weblogic domain, 10.3.2 domain contains the EM, JRF WL Add-on services. After upgrade EM, JRF services loading was failed. setDomainEnv.sh settings were overwritten. Domain upgrade will support FMW services upgrade, setdomainEnv configurations recovery or we need to update the FMW services path, copy the custom configurations from old setDomainEnv.sh to new setDomainEnv.sh

    Hi,
You need to upgrade FMW stack too apart from WLS then only those libraries will active or else it will have issues with libraries supported versions.

    Kal

  • Upgrading the weblogic domain from 10.0 to 10.3

i am having my weblogic domain version 10.0 , i would like to upgrade my domain to 10.3. Is there any way i can upgrade to 10.3 without new installation using some patch or smartupdate tool.Or, do i definitely need a new installation. Can you please suggest me and can you please let me know if there is any procedure to do that.

Your Weblogic 10.0 domain should be able to work (at least with WLS 10.3.5) without any modificaiton.
In any case if you still want to update, WLS comes with a tool that performes that for you (Weblogic Upgrade Wizard) which is documented here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e13754/upgrade_dom.htm#i1089586

ah, "a feature to recommend" ... sorry Deepak,
Oracle replied with "Suggestion Rejected" and the motivation "... As passing an unencrypted behavior (the old behavior) is not secure and a violation of company policy, it will not be re-implemented. ...".

    Hi Wenhao,
I did face something similar ....but when i tried it again...it worked..
In case it does not then before u try to start the procedure to dwnld the Enterprise service wsdl....
uncheck the wsdl validator check box in NWDS...
I suggest u first try to consume the wsdl by importing it locally...
just follow this blog by Boris step by step..
    /people/boris.mohr/blog/2007/01/23/how-to-guide-for-consuming-a-web-service-with-a-standalone-client-using-sap-netweaver-application-server-javatm-ee-5-edition
Once u r able to do this..then u can try to consume it from service registry

No. I have tried all the possibilities, but it is still not working.
I am the only user for my PC and, i have even tried runnig the server in admin mode as you suggested. rightclick on startWebLogic.cmd and run as administrator
If the procedure is wrong, please suggest another way.
I have another problem in addition to this. The model project is not being saved to the harddrive. If i create stuff in the model project it only lasts till i close the JDev, once i open it again, everything is lost.

  • Application cannot run after extending weblogic domain

I create a weblogic domain using jdeveloper 11.1.1.4. I deploy some adf applications to this domain. These applications are fine.
Then, I install SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 and extending the above domain. However, these adf web applications cannot run. What's happening?

    Can you post the exceptions?

The job ends in a successed status, but the result is
"Failed to connect to the Oracle WebLogic Administration Server. Start the admin server before submitting a job."
How i can start a weblogic domian from EM Grid??

  • Navigation not working in Weblogic Server but working from JDeveloper.

    Hi
I created a simple application with some page navigations (some declarative and some dynamic using Managed Bean).
The navigation works fine when I run from JDeveloper. (Local System)
So I deployed the application to the WebLogic server (Local system with a domain configured with ADF.)
The pages are getting rendered correctly, bu on button clicks, the navigation is not happening from any of the pages.
Could I have missed something or is there a way to track what the problem might be?
    JDev : 11.1.1.3
Web Logic Server : 11gR1 (1.3) which comes with JDeveloper
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi John
I am not using task flows. I just have some jspx pages defined in the unbounded task flow adfc-config.xml connected with navigation.
I run from JDEveloper by right clicking on the jspx files.
The URL when run from jdeveloper is as follows.
    http://127.0.0.1:7101/SessionsPOC-ViewController-context-root/faces/MainPage
From Weblogic server I am using the link given in the Testing tab of the weblogic administration console.
    The URL is as follows.
    http://10.9.73.103:7001/SessionsPOC-ViewController-context-root (default)
    http://10.9.73.103:7001/SessionsPOC-ViewController-context-root/MainPage.jspx
Actually, the URL given in the weblogic testing tab is not runnable. I am changing the link as follows to be able to run it.
    http://10.9.73.103:7001/SessionsPOC-ViewController-context-root/faces/MainPage.jspx
I have defined the MainPage.jspx in the web.xml 's Welcome page. But it is not taking it I guess.
Also, I am able to run the other page by giving the following url. But the navigation buttons are not working in that page also.
    http://10.9.73.103:7001/SessionsPOC-ViewController-context-root/faces/SecondPage.jspx
    Thanks

    I use Windows 2000 and JDeveloper 11.1.2.0
    Edited by: user11104528 on 07.04.2010 3:44

Windows 2000 is not one of the certified OS (look here http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/11/certification/index.html).
Seams there is a problem with the quite long pathnames and the length of the command line resulting from them.
You can try to shorten the path i.e. using a subst and set the product home to it.

  • How to install Enterprise Manager to JDeveloper integrated Weblogic domain

I have installed JDeveloper 11g and as you know it also installs an embedded Weblogic and creates a Weblogic domain. This domain by default has the console application but does not have the em application. How can I add em to my integrated Weblogic?

    Sturla,
I can give you the quick steps for installing EM into the WLS container integrated with JDev:
1). Download from OTN two pieces of software from the Fusion Middleware 11g (use the "For Deployment" software, click "See All"): the Application Development Runtime, and (under Additional Required Software) the Repository Creation Utility (RCU).
2). Unzip the RCU and run bin/rcu.bat or bin/rcu (windows/*nix). Create the MDS repository in an Oracle DB using this utility.
3). Install the application development runtime into the same home you installed JDeveloper.
4). Run the configuration wizard - on Windows its in the start menu / Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.1.0 / Weblogic Server 11gR1 / Tools. Find it yourself on *nix ;)
5). Choose to extend a domain
6). Pick your DefaultDomain directory for the integrated WLS
7). Tick the checkbox to add enterprise manager
8). Supply the database connection information for the DB in which you created the repository in step 2.
    Ta-da!
The EM will be accessible via http://hostname:7001/em, username/password=weblogic/weblogic1. I will caution you about generically installing into the integrated domain - it makes your WLS take noticeably longer to start up...
    Best,
    John

  • Upgrading Weblogic server to move from jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.4.0

Hello, I would need clear direction to what I should do to upgrade my target weblogic server when I move my development environment from jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.4.0
Initial ADF project was developed with jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 and deployed on a WLS 10.3.0
Now we are upgrating the application and we decided to move the project to jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.4
I need help on what I should upgrade on the target WLS server.
How do we move from WLS 10.3.0 to WLS 10.3.4?
Is it a reinstall or a upgrade? How do we upgrade?
And what about just upgrating the ADF run time? Is it the way to go?
    At following link we see
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html there is a Application development runtime is it the runtime that we install on the server or not?
I am confused if the ADF run time is tied with the WLS version or not, can someone give me a clear description of what is the ADF Runtime and how we upgrade it on the servers? Any Oracle documentation describing this process that I can provide to my server administrators?
At the end what is the best practice to upgrade the WLS servers when you would lilke to move like me from an older version of jdeveloper to a newer version. is there an Oracle document describing the steps to be done?
    Thanks

I'll echo Timo's question - why upgrade to 11.1.1.4 and not to the latest and greatest 11.1.1.6 (released yesterday)?
Upgrading to an older version basically means that you are setting yourself for another upgrade later on - so why not enjoy all the bug fixes and new features of the newer versions?
In terms of the upgrade process - if you look in the documentation tab of JDeveloper you'll see the book "Upgrade Guide for Oracle SOA Suite, WebCenter, and ADF" which gives the steps you can follow.
For 11.1.1.6 the book is here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/upgrade.1111/e10127/toc.htm
In the same documentation tab you'll find the certification matrix that explains which ADF version works with which WLS version:
