Launchpad won't let me switch page.

I have two launchpad pages in my macbook. Whenever I try to browse to second page, it instantly scrolls me back to page 1. I am pretty sure, my keyboard and mouse isn't broken so it's not pressing or pushing any button. Only way I can access my apps in second page is by searching with the search bar and getting that app on the first page.

It happenned to me as well after moving some icons around.
I found restarting Launchpad by running "killall Dock" in Terminal fixed the issue.
Worked for me, no need to turn off the computer

  • 27" won't let me switch sound to headphone

    Hi,
I just bought a 27 inch Cinema Display and I'm having an issue where OS X won't let me switch from the display's USB sound to my headphone jack (where I have external speakers connected).
When I go to the Sound preferences item and change the device in the Output tab, it switches back almost instantly to "Display Audio".
I looked at the Console and I'm getting this error every time I try to change the output device:
System Preferences[476] Error who? trying to set dOut device to 268
Any ideas on what's happening and how I can fix this?

    Hi,
I'm having the same issue with a Lexicon I-ONIX. The sound preferences doesn't let me select this device. I also looked at the console and receive the message: Error who? trying to set dOut device to 266.
Any idea would be very apreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Now I want to switch back to my credit card and the German itunes, and  it won't let me cause there's an unexpired rental. the movie i rented expired last week. What can I do?????

What does " it won't Let me get on my own apple id account" mean?
In what way is it stopping you from signing into your account?

  • Flash CC won't let me switch between open documents using command and tilde key ( ~ )

In all previous versions of Flash, and most other Adobe software, you could change the active document using command and tilde key ( ~ ) on a Mac. However Flash CC won't let me do this. Is there a bug, or something I need to set up to get it to work? Or is this possibly just expected behavior in the new version of Flash?

I'm on a 2012 desktop with OS X 10.8.4 using a bluetooth keyboard. Cmd + ~ works with all other Adobe programs I have installed including Flash CS5.5.

  • How do I switch from 1 page format to 2 page format? ibooks won't let me switch back to 2 page after I clicked on 1 page format.

I had clicked on 1 page format on one of the books I have in my library. Since doing this, it won't allow me to click back to 2 page format. Under the view tab, when i scroll down to that area, 1 page is in black with a check mark next to it, and 2 page format is in gray which usually indicates that this sinot an option. I tried removing the check next to 1 page format, but it doesn't seem to help. I would appreciate feedback on resolving this.

  • ITunes 10.4 won't let me switch to 32bit

Running system 10.6.8 on my 2.33 GHz iMac and when I try to open iTunes (10.4) I get an error message that says that I have to switch to 32bit (64bit not supported) Then iTunes does not launch...Just quits
Tells me to select the iTunes icon and then "Get Info" Then choose the 32bit check box.
Problem there is NO 32 bit check box.  FYI  Whe I do the same thing on my MacBook pro running 10.7 the checkbox is there.
I have reinstalled iTunes 10.4 and problem still persist.
Anyone else having this problem?  Any solutions?
    Thanks Jim

=> I have been going NUTS with iTunes and 10.6.8 (with 2 of the 3 of my new Macs, which have been updated with the latest system upgrades for OSX 10.6.8. The ONLY Mac this is not happening on is my 64-bit enabled Core Duo Intel MacBook Pro which is exactly year old last week. A newer iMac I bought in March 2011 (also 64-bit enabled...did you know you have to TURN THAT ON! via the "Terminal mode and a special lineof code AppleCare gave me 3 days ago...? or it merely starts-up/defaults defaults to run in 32-bit mode?) -  and I just bought a brand new Thunderbolt 15" laptop  at the end of July - all of these Macs are top of the line/decked-out models; and the new 15" MBPro I boot natively with 10.6.8 (but this new 15" MacBook Pro can dual boot either 10.6.8 or LION, at my discretion. And yes: the new 15" laptop FAILS to run 10.4/10.4.1 iTunes under 10.6.8 (after yet another re-install) ...but NOT when I run the LION OS - it works fine from LION/OSX 10.7....(go figure).
=> So now, I am in regular touch 2 - 3 times a week with AppleCare Tech Support on this ongoing - currently unsolvable problem - and since July. I have the same problem many of you also have: The [earlier] 10.4 and 10.4.1 release(s) of iTunes indeed fails, now, installs again (AFTER I de-install it and then RE-INSTALL IT - I've done this SEVEN TIMES!)  - and it temporarily works until I shut my computer(s) off. Then it fails to work again. Period. And I have to start all over. Frustrating indeed.
Apple engineers (3 of them) are now actively working on this for me - I hope - according to what we've done and discussed and reported and special culled files I've sent to them as recently as Labor Day weekend 2011 in the US.
They can't explain it so far....
Anyway, after a sucessful re-install - the next time I start up: iTunes fails to open - I get the same error message, I have to switch to 32bit (64bit not supported). iTunes does not launch...it quits. The error message tells me to select the iTunes icon and then "Get Info" and select the the 32-bit check box. As noted by others: there is NO 32 bit check box.  FYI: When I do the same thing on my MacBook pro running 10.7 (LION - which, BTW, has innumerable OTHER problems...WAIT TO USE IT as your native boot-up OSX...use 10.6.8 for now - I am serious! Most of my very expensive 64-bit or 32-bit productivity software WILL NOT RUN UNDER LION. PERIOD).
The impact of this problem is big: I use Final Cut Pro X (new software from Apple) - and it REQUIRES iTunes to easily import any sort of music I comose for my films asI edit them...iTunes FAILED in teh Apple Store where I am a One-to-One customer. No on immediately available in the Apple Store knew of or told meof the iTunes 10.6.8 OSX /10.4.1 iTunes problem and told me "contact AppleCare..." So that's where it sits for now - I am waiting to hear back this week - hopefully from at least one of the [3] engineers at Apple on this issue - which they claim to have no prior knowledge of - until I began calling about it in late July. My tech problem report file with Apple goes on for days, now....and the LION issues...another complete BLANK from Apple right now - except most 32-bit/PowerPC/Rosetta-required software WON'T run, as they clearly note (BUT SOME DOES install - despite warnings it will NOT install - some of that software DOES install - and runs fine, despite Apple's claims to the contrary....).
I will report back here what I hope to find out about iTunes 10.4.1, etc., (and other the really weird issues related to LION...but if anyone has an solution at hand already - PLEASE SHARE IT!). Thanks.

It has happened to others, which you would have known by searching the forum.  This is very basic forum etiquette.
Use the search button at the top of the page, or look in the MORE LIKE THIS area to the right.  You'll find your answer in no time!

  • In iTunes top charts I switched it to top audiobooks and now it won't let me switch to music what should I do?

On my iPad mini for the iTunes top chart I by accident switched it to audiobooks and now I can't go back to music. What should I do?

If the other top chart options and/or tabs in the iTunes store aren't working then have you tried closing the iTunes app via the multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iTunes app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Address book won't let me switch between groups

OK, so I'm trying to send an email to a specific group "the guys", so I open a new message, hit address book to get my contacts and it's on all contacts. I try to switch to a different group, "the guys" and it won't. I tap on "the guys" and it just stays on all contacts. It also won't add anyone when I tap on all contacts.
I quit mail, open it again and try the same, this time I can switch groups. Now though, it only adds in the contact that was highlighted in all contacts. So I tap one of the contacts in "the guys" and try again, now it only adds him... not the other guys. So I highlight all the guys and tap them to add them in, this works.
That is, it works until I need to send another email... then it's the whole stupid process all over again.
I just moved up to snow leopard a few days ago... is there something I'm doing wrong? I don't get it...
Side note... I can switch between groups at will when I open the application for Address book. What a pain though!

Hmm, anyone have any ideas or similar experiences? I tried getting answers in another thread that seemed to have some similarities but it was suggested that I start my own thread. It looks like I've gotten a lot of views here but no answers.... Anyone? Help!
    Thanks for lookin!
