Layout + T Container.
Hello Friends,
I am having some layout issues.... its following...
I have a Tab which contains one T.container. ( Gridlayout with 1 colum ). Inside this container I have haing 4 containers.... All 4 container are having labels and input fields.... I want to make all four container left indent....(hAlign)... but when I do in some container left padding.... it looks fine, but on different resulotions, the place of container varries....... how I can fix this issue...

let me try to explain you how to proceed with layouts.......
First thing to remember is use of matrix layout.........
1. first set the size of your rootuielement according to your requirement.... say 100%...set layout to matrix.....
2. insert a transparent container and set its width....... say 100% again.... set layout to matrix...
3. now according to your requirements insert UI elements.............
note... if you want to insert 3 input fields say and want thm to be fix my sgst would be first insert three Transparent container and in these insert your input field....

The funny thing about these guys--they were the child controls I had deleted from the designer UI after doing the paste. In the graphical view designer, they didn't show up. However, when I do a search for one of the offending items (say, tcPortHdr1) using Ctrl+H, then I get one match found in RoadMap03SelectMethodView.wdview. That makes sense; it's the file SAP uses to create the view.
Double-clicking on that file brings up the visual view designer, which does not show the "missing" control in question. So, I tried right-clicking on the wdview file and using the Open With... -> Text Editor option. That brings up an XML file and voila the control is in there:

The above regex found four controls (all of 'em, of course, I had already deleted from the designer using the UI). I do another deployment and the build works great! So, it looks like problem solved and the only issue being some nasty little bug in the UI that doesn't really delete controls from the backing XML file when you delete them from the visual designer, right?

Error while running a page which contains a region
Hi ADF Experts,
I am having a jsff page fragment. The fragment has panelbox(with some content and button) and a panel group layout(which contains a region).
On click of the button the panelbox is disclosed to false and the region is to be rendered.
But on page load I am getting the below exception. Earlier the page was coming fine. After dragging the region I am getting this error.

RoyI'm not sure about this but using rendered is always a problem if you want to show show the element during a ppr (which is what you do AFAIK). Once a component has rendered='false' is removed from the component tree and can't be put back in there without a full page refresh.
Try using the visible property instead or use an af:switcher component.

I'm sure there is a basic answer to this so hopefully someone can help.
When accessing payment processing or customer clearing transactions (F-28, F-26, F-32) the Process Open Items screen initially has a layout which contains a number of columns including a Text column. This is the case for some users but not all.
When you go to Settings >> Line layout, the Active variant is displayed in the pop up window. Once this pop up window is closed (even if no other layout is selected) the screen updates to a layout without the Text column. Selection of any of the layout options, including the original Active variant via Settings >> Line layout does not actually bring back the original layout, the only way to get this back to to come out of the transaction and return.
It seems like there is a default layout which is not selectable but the screen will initially display with this "invisible" layout. Is there anyway to find this out since some users layout will default with the Text column required and some will not.
Please note, the option for users to manually change the layout via Settings >> Change line layout produces an error ("...status not modifiable") but I'm not sure why the users should have a different default and I would like to bring their views into line with each other.Hi,
Could you please check, whether there is in table TCVIEW an entry
for the user ' .TCADMIN.'. As soon as such an entry exists,
these informations are used when the open item list is called

I was hoping that someone could shed some light on why one layout manage will allow an applet to be inserted in a class that extends JFrame but not another.
Here is the guts of the problem I have an class that extends applet to display a pie chart. I then have a seperate class that extends JFrame that display two input boxes and a button. When the user enters two fields and clicks draw the pie chart displays working with the two numbers. The JFrame class that works uses the border layout. I change the class to use gridbag, and now only the textboxes display. Can anyone help. Here is the code for the three classes.

}Ok. It seems I may be wrong and that this may not be a concurrent call issue. I overode the components setBounds and setLocation methods and it appears that an external class is updating the position of these components while layoutContainer is attempting to position them. I can see that the correct positions are being set in the setBounds method, but this is happening after layoutContainer has called getLocation on the components. To be a little more specific, I am using a JLayeredPane to display some overlapping JLabels with images. I have implemented drag and drop on these labels so that dropping one on another swaps the images. The label positions and sizes are not being changed during the drop (I don't want them to move or resize just change images). However, for some reason I have yet to discover, two calls to set bounds are being made on the labels. The first call is relocating the label to the second labels position, the second call is relocating the label back to it's original position. If anyone has any insight on why the label position are changing when I am not explicitly repositioning them please reply. I will post another reply when I have corrected the problem or found a work around for it. I am awarding the dukes to tjacobs1 since he was the only responses I've had so far.

I have an InDesign layout that contains multiple boxes, which all have style sheets applied to them.
There are a lot of unused styles on this layout too so these have been organised into folders.
When I close it and re-open the document, it creates all of the styles on the document again at the root level (not in the folder). However, it does not create them correctly, it simply makes them 14pt Times New Roman....
These styles look like they have been imported from Word (they have the little Floppy Disk icon next to their names). If you delete these and then save and re-open, they will be back there again.
However, if I remove them from their folders and place them at the root level, upon saving and re-opening, they won't be re-created (assumably because it can't due to a name conflict).
Any idea what would be causing it to want to create those styles every time?

Issues in P6v7 saving layouts with UDF's and Filters
In P6v7 have created series of layouts which contain columns for UDF's and Layout Filters based on selecting green form Indicator type UDF's
The project activities have entries in the UDF's eg the UDF fields have entries for most but not all of activities.
When exporting the layouts as .plf files and importing into another version of P6v7 the UDF's come in correctly however the columns are missing from the spreadsheet.
Also when importing the layout filter criteria doesn't come across correctly - or at all.
Is this a bug or at the least a known issue.
Any help welcomed.If you don`t already yuse the xfl file format instead of the fla, try this.

I have created my site in dreamweaver, but it is not
appearing in the browser as it should.
I have two tables that need to be lined up with each other in
the centre. Although, when I create it in layout mode it appears
correctly but then when I preview the site in browser the tables
are off to the left.
Any ideas of how to fix it?

Yes, it does.
DW's timeline code is such an antique (dating from DW2, I
believe) that it
fails in some of the more recent browsers. Unless there is a
compelling
reason to use it, I wouldn't.
It's likely that your problems stem from this code -

Note that not only is the opening table tag improperly
closed, but the whole
thing is bogus anyhow. You cannot have
<table></table> in your code. I
assume that the closing </table> is an error, meaning
that the code should

This should fix part of your problem. You will have another
immediate
problem, though, that is caused by your use of absolute
positioning with
centering tables. The tables will center, but the absolutely
positioned
elements will be fixed in their location. Thus, the table's
content will
slide under the 'layers', breaking your layout.
Finally, you have used Layout mode to build these tables. In
my opinion,
there are three serious problems with Layout Mode -
1. Perhaps most importantly, it sits between you and *real*
HTML tables,
and fools you into believing that concepts like "layout cell"
and
"autostretch" really mean something. They do not. As long as
you use
Layout Mode, you'll never learn one of the most important
things for new web
developers - how to build solid and reliable tables.
2. Actually, #1 wouldn't be *so* bad, except that the code
that is written
by Layout Mode is really poor code. For example, a layout
table contains
MANY empty rows of cells. This can contribute to a table's
instability.
In addition, if your initial positioning of the table's cells
is a bit
complex,
Layout Mode will throw in col- and rowspans aplenty as it
merges and splits
cells willy-nillly to achieve the pixel-perfect layout you
have specified.
Again,
this is an extremely poor method for building stable tables,
because it
allows
changes in one tiny cell's shape (i.e, dimensions) to ripple
through the
rest
of the table, usually with unexpected and sometimes
disastrous consequences.

3. The UI for Layout Mode is beyond confusing - many options
that you might
want to use are inaccessible, e.g., inserting another table,
or layer onto
the page.
I can understand the new user's desire to use this tool to
make their life
easier,
but the cost is just too heavy in my opinion.
To make good tables, keep it simple. Put a table on the page,
and begin to
load your content. If you would want a different table
layout, instead of
merging or splitting cells, consider stacking tables or
nesting simple
tables instead, respectively.
And above all, do not try to build the whole page with a
single table!

Layout mode in Dreamweaver CS3. Can't draw table
I did the same exact thing i do in dreamweaver 8, but in cs3,
it's now working.
I went to layout mode and with a blank page and the draw
table button is grayed out.
what do i do to use it. I'm already in layout mode.Get out of Layout mode for starters.
In my opinion, there are three serious problems with Layout
Mode -
1. Perhaps most importantly, it sits between you and *real*
HTML tables,
and fools you into believing that concepts like "layout cell"
and
"autostretch" really mean something. They do not. As long as
you use
Layout Mode, you'll never learn one of the most important
things for new web
developers - how to build solid and reliable tables.
2. Actually, #1 wouldn't be *so* bad, except that the code
that is written
by Layout Mode is really poor code. For example, a layout
table contains
MANY empty rows of cells. This can contribute to a table's
instability.
In addition, if your initial positioning of the table's cells
is a bit
complex,
Layout Mode will throw in col- and rowspans aplenty as it
merges and splits
cells willy-nillly to achieve the pixel-perfect layout you
have specified.
Again,
this is an extremely poor method for building stable tables,
because it
allows
changes in one tiny cell's shape (i.e, dimensions) to ripple
through the
rest
of the table, usually with unexpected and sometimes
disastrous consequences.
This is one of the primary reasons for the final result's

3. The UI for Layout Mode is beyond confusing - many options
that you might
want to use are inaccessible, e.g., inserting another table,
or layer onto
the page.
I can understand the new user's desire to use this tool to
make their life
easier,
but the cost is just too heavy in my opinion.
To make good tables, keep it simple. Put a table on the page,
and begin to
load your content. If you would want a different table
layout, instead of
merging or splitting cells, consider stacking tables or
nesting simple
tables instead, respectively.
And above all, do not try to build the whole page with a
single table!

Portlets not coming as per layout for the Cutomized layout structure
I have created new Customized layout for our application.
I could see the cutomized layout properly in Workshop. When i am adding the portlets to all of the placeholders in layout and running the portal , out put i could see all the portlets are coming in vertical and not as per structure as per i defined.
COuld not understand why it is happening when it is displaying properly in Workshop IDE.
One more issue i could not define the Height attribute to the placeholders .How to have cutomized heights for the placeholders?

If not, check your view link definition.
If so, make sure you have defined the correct View Object Usages in your application structure file.

How to separate report layout sections in one report
All,
I'm trying to determine how to separate report layout sections in one report using Report Builder 10g. My requirement is to provide a user the ability to display a report in PDF, excel, RTF formats. How can I assign LayoutA to 'PDF' and 'RTF', LayoutB to 'Spreadsheet'?
I've attempted to utilize the Header and Main sections in the paper layout, which contain unique layouts of the same report, but during generation, both sections are being displayed.

How are you running the report? If you are selecting different types of output before calling the report then you could pass a parameter that is checked at runtime in the report and suppresses the layouts you do not want using format triggers.

Expand All for Hierarchy in Layout
Hi all
Has anyone developed an 'Expand All Nodes' function for a BPS Web application? I have a layout which contains a hierarchy and I would like to be able to provide two buttons which perform an 'Expand All' and 'Collapse All'.

DimitriIf you want expand all levels in hierarchy then you could choose the appropriate level in the 'Expand to Level' option in layout cutomization in Web Interface Builder.
In our case i have set it to 5 so that when the layout opens all the cost elements appear.But it takes time if the layout is going to read lot of data.
There is also another option for layout customization called 'Collapse Lead Columns'.If you want both these options in the form of button then you may have to write BSP codes for this task.
