LCM Error

Hyperon Essbase/Planning 11.1.2
When I attempt to LCM a file to a new application I get the following error - what causes this?
Cannot retrieve migration status for

What are you trying to import, if it is a full import have you tried breaking it down to try and find where the issue lies.

  • LCM Error in promoting Crystal Reports using Dynamic Cascading

    Hi,
I am having one Crystal report, developed in CR XI R2 ,it is using one Dynamic cascading prompt. The DB is Oracle Server.
The report is working fine on standalone desktop as well as Dev server .
But when i try to move this report using LCM to Production (Dev to Prod or Dev to Test) it throws error "Promotion failure - Trying to create an object with duplicate name" .
I have gone through LCM document ion and found that we need to select report as well as the BVM or dynamic cascading .I tried this option also but it didn't work.
Can anyone suggest what i am missing ?
    thanks

  • LCM Error - Duplicate Name

    Hi,
I am new to the LCM tool. Whenever I am trying to move my objects(Universes & Reports) from Dev to Quality, the Universes and the connections got successfully moved. But when we move the report it gives an error in the promotion status showing"Promotion Status=Failure : Trying to create an object with duplicate name. Id = 2017 ". Some one in the forum said about this error as CUID. Can anyone explain me what is CUID and how we can rectify this error.

  • Error when importing Shared Dimension through LCM

We are using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 with an EPMA application. We have one environment where all of the dimensions are in the Shared Library, and the application dimensions are shared from there (DEV environment). In another environment, we have the same application, but its using only local dimensions (UAT environment)
We are looking to migrate some changes to members from DEV to UAT, but don't want to share the dimensions in UAT (yet anyways). Here is how I was going about migrating the dimensions:
    1. In Shared Services in DEV, exporting the dimensions from EPM Architect from Foundation Services (from under Dimensions (Shared))
    2. In Shared Services in UAT, importing the dimensions from the file system into EPMA from Foundation Services (into Dimensions (Shared)), then using the "Synchronize > From Shared Library" to push those changes to the application's local dimensions.
When I import the file system from DEV into UAT, the import fails and gives me the following error message for the Account dimension (only trying the one dimension for now):
    REPORTED WITHOUT ERROR DETAILS
Here is a link to the screenshot of the error: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12604803/HSS-LCM-Error.jpg
It appears that the LCM import does work as it creates the dimension in the Shared Library, but I am not sure why I am getting this error message.
I also tried to import the exported Shared Dimension for Account directly into the application (rather than the Shared Library) by just moving the "Account" file from:
    <export file name>\resource\Dimensions (Shared)
    to
    <export file name>\resource\Application Metadata\Planning Applications\<appname>\Common Dimensions
And this imports without any errors! I'd rather not go this way as it's more of a manual process, and I'd like to keep it as straightforward as possible.
I have searched the error message on OTN, the Oracle Knowledge Base and Google, but haven't really been able to come across any real information.
Any insight you may have would be greatly appreciated!

More of an update. We have a sandbox environment as well, and I was able to import the Shared Dimensions through LCM without any issue on that server.
I also tried rebooting the server with the issues, but still get that cryptic error message.
I looked through the logs and saw this in the EPMA.log
    2011-03-31 15:51:13,194 [[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '1' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] ERROR com.hyperion.awb.web.lcm.ArtifactManager - Error code is AWB_WEB_ERR_LCM_IMPORT_ARTIFACTS_PATHNAME
2011-03-31 15:51:13,194 [[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '1' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] ERROR com.hyperion.awb.web.lcm.ArtifactManager - doImportArtifacts: Error importing 'Account' at path '/Dimensions (Shared)'
Seems to be connected to the issue I am having, but couldn't find anything on OTN, Oracle KB or Google. Other imports to this environment work, so not sure why the pathname would throw issues.
I also verified that EPMA and HSS on all environments are using the same version.

Just wanted to know is it necessary that the user must be part of native directory instead of LDAP in order that he should be able to use LCM for migration? No.
I've actually never done an LCM migration using a native directory account. I think it doesn't matter whether the user is part of Native, MSAD, or LDAP. As long as, the user has sufficient privileges, he should be able to use LCM.
Here is a list of all LCM roles: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hss_admin/apas01s01.html

  • Hit by the famous "Failure to start JBOSS Service During Conf Management.  Error[ALC-LCM-999-032]"

    Hi Everyone,
I m really frustrated with this issue. I am trying to install Adobe LiveCycle ES Update 1 trial version JBOSS turnkey option.
    It does not work!!
The installation goes smoothly. But when I launch the config manager, there is no way I get passed the "Error[ALC-LCM-999-032], with a Failed on 'Starting service JBoss For Adobe LiveCycle ES'. Service startup failed for: JBoss for Adobe LivecycelES."
I tried pretty much anything I could find out there as potential solution to the problem. I even tried it in a brand new machine whit pretty much nothing in it: so no possible port conflict (by the way I tried starting jboss directly from the cmd line under Adobe 8.2 dir and it starts fine. i.e: Only the service is busted!!!), tried changing the local policy right and Allow Logon as a service, tried changing the account the service is running under, to no avail.
I tried installing it in machines with Win XP, SP2, JavaSDK1.5_017
Also, tried installing it in machines with Win Server03 SP2 Standard Edition x64. Same JDK. Same thing.
I have tried several machines w/ the same result
I am obviously missing something !
I personally dont care about the windows service. If there is a way to do the config manually, I m more than happy to take that route, as long as I am told what to do. THANKS>
    mb/

I was able to solve this issue. I put this in another thread also as I treid for hours to get this to work and no one had good explanation on forums.
I had same problem on Windows XP (32 Bit). I was installing LiveCycle ES on my desktop to do some solution evaluations. I could start the JBOSS server successfully if I did that by myself, but Adobe Configuration Manager and Java Service were failing.
The issue was the JDK I had assigned to use.
    To resolve:
    1. Make sure you have compliant JDK Version. To get mine to work I had to install JDK Version jdk1.5.0_17.
    2. Switch the JDK that the JBOSS Java Service is pointing to. To do this, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the service.
2.A Go to your installation folder (C:\Adobe\LiveCycle8.2\jboss) and copy the file "InstallJBossService.bat" and rename it "UnInstallJBossService.bat".
2.B Change the command line to execute an uninstall by the following: "%LC8DIR%/jboss/JBossService.exe" -uninstall.
2.C Change your OS Environment Variable for JAVA_HOME to the correct JDK, for example "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_17".
    3. Rerun the Adobe Configuration Manager C:\Adobe\LiveCycle8.2\configurationManager\bin\ConfigurationManager.bat
It should complete successfully now IF your issue was the wrong JDK like I had.
Also make sure that the Java Service has Permission to run. Check your control panel -> adimistrative tools -> Service. It will be called "JBoss for Adobe LiveCycle". Make sure it has permission to run as local user is what I did.
There are some other posts about issues similar to this using wrong JDK or 64Bit Windows or other.

  • Error promoting reports using LCM: The kind 'Note' does not exist

    Hi,
We are using BOXI3.1 with FixPack1.3 installed on a Windows 2003 Enterprise environment. We have installed Life Cycle Management for version management and content promotion. Our environment coneist of three server installations (Development, Test and Production).
Our problem is that we are not able to promote reports from one environment to another. Wee are getting two different kind of errors, depending on the scenario:
    Error 1: For actual promotion

This error happens for borth the Administrator user, and a user who are a member of the Administrator user group.
    We have tested following:
    1. Verify the user has at least view right for Custom Access Levels in CMC
    2. Verify the user has the 'Allow discussion thread' on the Note content on Top Level security in 'Folder' in CMC.
    3. We are getting the same error when exporting to BIAR
    4. The user have Full control of the LCM folder
    5. We have tested promotion with security option enabled
We have also a test report where we have set Full Control and allow discussion thread explicit on the user.
Have anyone experienced the same error and a suggestion for what can be wrong?

  • LCM Installation error

I am attempting to install LCM in a BOE XI 3.1 SP2 environment, with Windows 2003 Enterprise, SQL Server 2005.
We have a web server with Tomcat 5.5, and two BOE servers with clustered CMS and the BOE services. I am attempting to install on one of the BOE servers.
After starting, the installation immediately throws this error: "The LifeCycle Manager Tool cannot be installed on the system as the install prerequisites are not met"
All the services are running, and Tomcat is running. There is 35 GB free on D: (installation is on D:) and 4.5 GB on C:
Central Management Server, File Repository System,  Adaptive Processing Server and Web Application Server are all there.
I can't think of any other prerequisites that aren't met. Any idea why the install fails?

Just spoke with Support; LCM must be installed on a standalone server with the full service stack including Tomcat (or other web server). It gets it's own license key (doesn't consume BOE license) and can be part of the cluster.

    Hi
LCM and BOE use the same Tomcat (or in general web server) instance. Please check the folloing documentation:

  • LCM filesystem import error?

    Hi,
I have exported the Planning application into a file system and the same file system again imported into same application in same environment as part of restoring process using shared servcies.
Here everything was successfully imported except few groups eventhough imported remaining groups.
I was getting the error as "*ERROR - error /Security/Access Permissions/Groups/GROUPNAME - The root element is required in a well-formed document*"
I couldnt gooogle it out. Please suggest any inputs to solve this issue.
    I was on 11.1.1.3.
    Thanks,

completely clueless about the issue^^^Totally my way of viewing all kinds of issues. :)
Change the filesystem.artifact.path=<epm_oracle_instance>/import_export to something like filesystem.artifact.path=C:\Hyperion\Oracle\ Migration and you need to store your backup at this location.^^^That is a super cool bit of information that I had zero knowledge of. I will definitely keep that one in my list of things to do at my next client as form folders and form names can blow past the length limit so easily.
I reread the OP's post, and I wonder (and again, just speculation) that is something in the group name that didn't play nice in XML. What I'm getting at is something akin to the known issue (maybe fixed now?) of parentheses in form names that blow LCM up. Maybe there's something in the name of the group, some special character or characters that doesn't translate well? It seems odd that most groups were okay but others failed. Maybe the SS group doesn't exist on the target to begin with? I don't believe that a Planning migration will create the target groups automatically.

Is LC running healthy? Did it deploy successfully?
Any errors in the application server logs?
Are you able to log into the LC AdminUI (host:port\adminui)?
