LDAP user no longer able to log in

We have CQ 5.3 set up using LDAP authentication.  We have one user who has been using CQ with her AD Userid/password for over a year with no issues, but she came in one day and now it's saying her user id and password don't match.
We've tried on multiple different instances of CQ and she gets the same message every time.  She is able to log into other applicaitons that use LDAP for authentication just fine. We have tried resting CQ to see if that resolves the issue and it hasn't.  I originally thought it was some sort of issue with her LDAP account, but because she can log into other apps, I'm wondering if not? Or maybe there WAS an issue with her account, but it was resolved (she thought maybe her account was locked, so she ran an unlock procedure), but CQ just hasn't caught up to that fact?  This started happening a week ago.

Hi Jennifer,
Have you tried running a manual LDAP User sync for the single user (http://localhost:4502/crx/config/ldap.jsp)?  Since the user can login to other systems via LDAP, the problem is most likely with their account in CQ.  Maybe try deleting their account in CQ and re-creating/re-sync via LDAP User sync.

    Thanks for your suggestion. If i understand it correctly, user will still be able to login to Presentation server but will not have access to any content using your solution approach. Did i get it right?
    In my current setup, user gets authenticated against LDAP, then i extract user group for that user and assign it to GROUP. Only those users gets assigned to GROUP who have access to OBIEE. We have secured RPD and Catalogs so that user must be a member of at least one GROUP to be able to access content.
    Right now, a LDAP user who is not present in OBIEE user table, is able to login to BI Presentation server but is not able to see any thing. Because user gets authenticated, but does not have any authorization rights. So far so good.
    I would like to take next step, where use login to BI Presentation server is denied if user id does not exist in the OBIEE user table ( but exists in the LDAP).

    I have created new roles in the SRM system with  the BP tanscation codes Like( BBPSC01
    BBPSC02
    BBPSC03
    BBPSC04)
    after that I have created new users and I have assigned these roles to users. Users are able to login throgh SAP GUI but Users are not able to log in WEB GUI..  Once they providing user id and password in web gui. they are facing issue.
    For web login do we need to maintain any special settings in SRM system?
    Please suggest me.

  • User no longer able to connect to afp shared drive

    I have upgraded our server to 10.7.1.  After about a week about 2/3 of our users are no longer able to connect to the shared drive using afp.  It worked fine for the first week and now several users cannot connect.  When attempting to coonect to the afp share it does not even attempt to authenticate.  Please help.

    Is the firewall service turned off? Can you connect to the localhost from the server itself (afp://127.0.0.1/) ?

    If you are using Safari ...
    From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
    Select the top six boxes then click Reset.
    Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
    If that didn't help, open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Quit and relaunch Safari.
    See if that worked ...

    Thanks in advance for looking into my problem report.
    First off, I'm running Skype version 7.10 (777) for Mac, on my MacBook Pro Retina running Yosemite 10.10.4.  I've been using Skype on this setup flawlessly for months.  Recently, after adding some more credit in advance of making an international call (which worked fine), I ran into a weird problem.  I can't be more specific about the initial problem, as I kind of dismissed it at the time, but it was some kind of error window from Skype regarding my attempt to add credit (which did work, btw - I see the updated balance and my bank account was debited as intended).
    Now however, I cannot use the Skype application in any way.  When I attempt to sign in - whether on my account (with the right password or a bogus password), or on another valid account, the application just displays the spinning balls graphic for several minutes and then reverts to the sign in screen.  After rebooting my Mac, I was able to use Skype again, but now it's back to this behavior after I quit Skype.  I've got a lot of work-in-progress right now and don't want to keep rebooting to try to get past this.
    Note that my account/credentials is clearly not the issue; I can use Skype from my iPhone 5S no problem, and from Skype web on the same Mac.  But the application itself on my Mac is DOA, whether using my account or another person's.  Even the Check for Updates just stalls forever.
    I have already downloaded the Skype app again and paved over the old one, and that makes no difference.
    I also trashed my Library/Application Support/Skype, and restored a copy from backup prior to this problem, but it made no difference.
    I've verified that my Mac firewall is not the issue - I've tried it with the firewall on and off without affect.
    If anyone has a clever idea - or knows how I can get some kind of diagnostic log about what the app is doing when it's trying to contact the mother ship - please let me know!

  • MBP no longer able to log in on WIN2003 FILE server

    New MBP in Aug,08. Able to access WIN2003 file server with typical clicks in Finder. Then comes October upgrade to Leopard, and this results in only being able to access file server by Finder>apple+k>connect to server by smb://##.##.##.##
    Finally in December after an "upgrade" on the file server done by our IT person, I can no longer access the file server. I perform either of the above approaches to logging in and it just "hangs"...no error message, it just keeps trying, but never says that it can't find the server.
    So, the IT person has done changes like taking down firewall and changing some of the enable/disable settings recommended on other chat sites for similar issues, but to no avail. HELP!

    Never mind...my password to access file server contained a character that was not acceptable. Once changed, access restored.

  • No longer able to log into websites with Safari 3.1

    Ever since updating to Safari 3.1, I can no longer log into websites (such as my company's Campfire account). It looks like I'm having a problem similar to those described by people who were using Cosmopod 2.2, however...
    I don't have (nor have I ever had) Cosmopod installed.
    I also don't have an Input Managers directory in /Library or ~/Library.
    I've removed all my internet plugins in /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    I've reinstalled Safari using the 3.1 standalone installer.
    I've tried to downgrade back to 3.0.4 using the Leopard 10.5.2 combo installer (but I can't seem to actually get the combo installer to run).
    Any thoughts as to other programs which might be causing Keychain hijacking?

    Go into the Control Panel open Accounts, create a new
    user. Log into the new user account, open Safari and
    try connecting to a well know site that uses SSL...
    If it works, it means something is wrong with your
    Safari settings in your account, bad preferences,
    etc...
    If it doesn't work, you have to delete system-wide
    Safari preferences, and perhaps start with Disk
    Utilities, Verify Permissions, etc...

  • Domain Users are not able to log in to Domain Computers - Administrators are able to do so

    I have Primary Domain Controller and Secondary one, The users can log in to both as I have changed the locally Policy to allow Domain users to log in. 
    But I am having problem with users who can not log in to computers joined the domain. I noticed that ONLY Administrators allowed to log in locally in the Policy and if want to add users, i will not be able to do so as Adding Users or Group is Disabled.

    Please follow the below steps for checking whether either "Allow Logon Locally" or "Deny Logon Locally" is enabled in the default policy, 
    1. Go to start -> run -> tupe GPMC.MSC, to open Group Policy Management Console.
    2. In the  Group Policy Management Console,right click and edit the default policy and navigate to the node "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment".
    3. In the "User Rights Assignment" node, check whether the options "Deny log on locally" or "Allow Logon Locally" are
    defined and groups added to those options to confirm the logon problem of domain users.
    NOTE: Also check the local policy, as you have mentioned "I have Primary Domain
    Controller and Secondary one, The users can log in to both as I have changed the locally Policy to allow Domain users to log in."

  • Skype on Panasonic P50VT20B no longer able to log ...

    I've had skype working fine on my TV since I first got it over 3 years ago with the official Panasonic camera, then the other day I checked and it wasn't logged in so re-enetered my account details and then it came up with the "Cannot sync contact list" error message.
    I've tried adding my birthday to my profile (along with the other crap it demands you fill in to save it) and it's made no difference at all. I can log in everywhere else (windows phone, ipad, surface, PC etc...) but the TV is having none of it.
    Is there any solution to this, because having forked out over £100 on the camera this is just not acceptable to suddenly have it be a useless pile of junk?

    First, I would try to remove any login startup items under System Preferences -> Accounts -> ACCOUNTNAME -> Login / Startup Items under that account.
    I've had varying problems with blue screens on OS X.4 and with one machine I was unable to solve the problem, even after deleting the user account and moving all the files to different location, and recreating the account. As a last resort, you can try to move the user's home folder to someplace else on the HD, then login with the account and have OS X recreate all the files associated with the account. If that works, you can move back the files that the user needs. You might want to see what others suggest before trying that.

  • Users no longer able to back up to Time Machine volume

    Let me preface this thread by saying I have read Pondini's great Time Machine support page, and my issue seems most related to the #C4 topic, but it doesn't seem to cover the specifics of my situation. I have roughly 15 users at my company backing up hourly to a central storage device - an external 4TB  RAID 1+0 volume. It's one giant partition, and everyone has their own sparsebundle on it. Everyone is on OS 10.6.8. Backups went fine for the first half of the year, but eventually the TM volume filled up to about 99% capacity and started rejecting backups for multiple users. Rather than deleting old backups to make room for new ones, the backups simply fail now, with the "not enough space" error message on the client side.
    As a band-aid solution I've been manually deleting the sparsebundles for users, and the backups resume for them as normal. Obviously this only solves the problem temporarily. I've also tried the method discussed in this forum about manually creating a 'dummy' sparsebundle for a user at a particular size, moving that to the TM volume, and then re-enabling backups - but this has never worked; the backups go way beyond the size I've set on the sparsebundle, and the TM volume continues to fill up. I know OS 10.6.3 changed the behavior of the sparsebundle's maximum size, so that's probably why my attempts to limit each user's maximum size has failed.
    At any rate, one person suggested I create one partition per user on the TM volume, but this will result in seeing 15 different volumes available when connecting to it, which I'd like to avoid. If this is the only solution for me, though, I will reconsider it. I'm hoping there is another solution though.

    That is probably a lot of users for a single volume.   That works out to about 267 GB per user; as Etresoft says, Time Machine usually needs 2-3 times the space of the data it's backing-up, so if your average user has more than about 90 GB used, that may be the root of your problem. 
    Backups went fine for the first half of the year, but eventually the TM volume filled up
    If your users haven't added a great deal to their amount used since then, and roughly 6 months of backups is sufficient, you may have enough room.
    Either way, though, all those sparse bundles are competing for the same space; if a few have managed to "hog" most of it, the others won't have enough space for new backups.  Since Time Machine will only delete backups from the Mac it's running on to make room, once the drive is near full, the size of any one sparse bundle usually won't change much. 
    Since sparse bundles don't shrink when things are deleted, if something gets backed-up by mistake, deleting the backup won't gain any space.  The unused space will be used for new backups before it grows anymore, but you only recover space when the sparse bundle is "compacted" -- Time Machine will do that automatically when it's out of space, or you can do it manually (see the pink box in #12 of Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions).
    As a band-aid solution I've been manually deleting the sparsebundles for users, and the backups resume for them as normal.
    That won't help much, since the ones with the problem are already too small; deleting one sparse bundle won't really help much. The new one will still be limited by the space taken up by the others.
    If you do in fact have enough room, but some sparse bundles are taking up too much space, you might try deleting the big ones.  When a new backup has been done, try limiting the maximum size of that sparse bundle per #A8 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting  (rather than creating new sparse bundles yourself).  As noted, though, that doesn't always work.

    I've been switching between gnome-shell, openbox (stand alone) and XFCE trying to figure out which I want to use (deleting the settings after each switch) and now it won't let me login using openbox at all anymore; XFCE works if I do it manually. If I add GDM to the daemons list, it ignores it completely; If I add slim to the daemons list it gives me the error:
    Failed to execute login command
    Trying to start Openbox manually gives me an error something along the lines of:
    Openbox-message: Failed to open the display from the DISPLAY environment variable
    I'm tried removing the entire Openbox folder and the .xinitrc file and copying them back to my home folder and ~/.config, rebooting but still getting the same sort of errors.

    Well, the .xinitrc comment was for telling xfce and openbox to start, not GDM; I had that set in the daemons list.
    But for my display variable, I'm assuming you mean the openbox environment file. It appears to be default without any really "changes" or whatever.

    As they said above, first check the user ID in UME.  If the user exists, check if it is locked. 
    To unlock the user , select the user and click on unlock tab.  a message "object unlocked successfully" will display.
    To reset the password for the particular user,
    1) goto user administration --> identity management --> search for the user ID --> click on the Id which is displayed below.
    2)  click on modify tab
    3)  select define initial password button and type password in define password & confirm password fields
    4)  save the changes
