  • How to reboot a guest domain when hung and ldm stop-domain doesn't work

Hi, the configuration is as follows.
    SF T1000 (32 threads/16gb) memory
Latest Firmware and the LDOM patch (-02) applied.
This is how the LDOMs are setup.
    Instance CPUs Memory
    Service domain 4 2g
    ldom1 4 2g
    ldom2 4 2g
    ldom3 4 2g
    ldom4 4 2g
    ldom5 4 2g
    ldom6 4 2g
    ldom7 4 1.9g
All guest domains are running on disk-images on mirrored BE on service domain. Size around 7 gb and SUNWCXall installed.
However, I have had a few hangs, especially when working over the virtual switch on the domains.
At the moment ldom1 is totally hung. See below for info:

I cannot ssh to ldom1 since it appears to be dead!
Anyone know if I can send some sort of reset to this hung domain? How can I troubleshoot it?
    Regards,

    UPDATE 2

  • JSP not working on migrated domain

I migrated my Weblogic 5.1 properties file to Weblogic 6.0
              using the console.
I am unable to invoke the HelloWorld.jsp from a browser when I
place it in my \applications\DefaultWebApp-myServer directory.
My migrated server listens on port 7001 and I used the URL to invoke
              HelloWorld:
              http://208.139.197.151:7001/HelloWorld.jsp
When I placed it in the examples'
              applications\DefaultWebApp-examplesServer it worked.
My examples server listens on port 7003 and I used the following
              URL to invoke HelloWorld:
              http://208.139.197.151:7003/HelloWorld.jsp
I'm attaching my config.xml for the migrated domain.
              Thanks,
              Shelly

              Kumar,

  • Portal Forms Reports Discoverer Install create domain failure ...

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure 11g Forms and Reports, and keep getting the 'create domain' failure message. I have read many threads and tried the work-arounds as suggested, but I still get this failure.
    System config :-
Linux 32 bit RHEL 5, plenty of resource.
    RDBMS 11.0.2
Final 'config' of PFRD fails when attempting to create a domain, with following error :-
    2012-11-01T10:24:41.823+00:00] [as] [NOTIFICATION] [] [oracle.as.install.engine] [tid: 13] [ecid: 0000JevW5L7EwGM2INWRvR1G^^ot000004,0] Setting valueOf(DOMAIN_HOME_PATH) to:/home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/ClassicDomain. Value obtained from:USER
    [2012-11-01T10:25:05.753+00:00] [as] [NOTIFICATION] [] [oracle.as.install.engine] [tid: 13] [ecid: 0000JevW5L7EwGM2INWRvR1G^^ot000004,0] Setting valueOf(DOMAINPORT) to:-1. Value obtained from:USER
The installation steps I use are :-
    1. Used ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.3.3_disk1_1of1.zip, to create required schemas
    2. Installed wls1036_linux32.bin, and 'de-selected' "Run Quikstart" at the end so no domain configured
    3. Installed, but NOT configure :- PFRD_11_1_1_12 (4 zip files downloaded)
    4. Installed, but NOT configure the 'patch set' for PFRD_11_1_1_2, which is 11_1_1_6
    5. Run the 'config.sh' to configure, de-selected PORTAL component so no OID required, and the failure to create domain always appears. I have tried with a 'staticports.ini' file, and I get the error the 7001 port is not free?
The above error is quite clear in that it needs a port for the domain to make use of, but I have chosen the 'Auto config' option.
    Any ideas, please ?
    Cheers,
    Nigel

Generally, domain failure issues are the result of any one or more of the following:
<li>The machine is not using a static IP address and you have not properly configured the machine's hosts file. You should read the instructions and system requirements before starting any installation.
    <blockquote>http://docs.oracle.com/html/E18558_01/fusion_requirements.htm#BABFHBID</blockquote>
<li>The current PATH or CLASSPATH includes blank spaces or special characters
<li>Port 5556 (Node Manager) is in use by another process or installation
<li>The user starting the configuration is not the installation owner.
<li>The platform has not been certified for this installation (refer to the product certification guide)
    <blockquote>http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html</blockquote>
If none of the above helps to solve your issue, you probably should post your question/issue in the Application Server area since this is not really a "Forms" issue. This is a Fusion Middleware installation and configuration issue.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 User State Migration Win XP to Win 8.1 does not migrate Domain User Files

    Hi @ all
i'm trying migrate Win XP Sp3 to Win 8.1 using SCCM 2012 R2. So i followed the how to from the SCCM Team.
    https://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2013/09/12/how-to-migrate-user-data-from-win-xp-to-win-8-1-with-system-center-2012-r2-configmgr.aspx

Yup. The Geniuses (like most Apple folks) don't actually use Time Machine on their work computers, and aren't real familiar with it, so this sort of thing isn't all that unusual, unfortunately. You could even have gotten similar advice from AppleCare, depending on the expertise of whoever you happened to get. Sigh.

  • Migrating domain name to Business Catalyst

After playing with Muse for a while I am looking to publish my site shortly. My current hosting package is up in January so would like to move over to Business Catalyst rather than renew that if possible.
Current hosting comes with free email addresses associated with the domain name, one of which is printed on my business card. Is there a way to keep and migrate this or do I need to lose it and reprint cards with an updated address?

You have a couple options. Since you used Muse I will guess you are thinking on using your free hosting.
The free hosting is very basic and does not have email support. You will still need to keep your domain registered with where ever it is now. Adobe doesn't host domain names.
So what you need to do after you go live is to:
Either upgrade it to a paid site and you can set the DNS at your current registerar to ns1.worldsecuresystems.com and ns2.worldsecuresystems.com
    or
Just direct the A record in your domain settings where you have your domain to 192.150.2.140 and leave the MX record (email) with your current host.

  • Utility for migrating Domain Definitions from Oracle Designer to JHeadstart

    Hi,
I am currently involved in the migration of a pretty substantial application, developed with Oracle Designer’s Web Server Generator, to the Oracle ADF technology stack, using JHeadstart. You know I am a big fan of JHeadstart for a number of reasons, but this particular application is ideally suited for JHeadstart (or I should say the other way round of course). JHeadstart and ADF can do everything Web PL/SQL Toolkit and the Web Server Generator can do - and much, much more. So both end users and developers of this application stand to gain from the migration.
However , due to special technical limitations in the Web Server Generators and the inventive hand-crafted work-arounds, I can use the JHeadstart Designer Generator migration tool only for th 60% really simple maintenance modules. The other 40% is better off with building from scratch.
There is one piece of information in Oracle Designer that is quite useful to me - that is the Domain Definitions. The sets of allowable values that power the dropdownlists and radio groups is needed in JHeadstart’s Application Definition file, and the current edition of the JHeadstart Designer Generator does not allow the migration of Domains (only complete modules are supported).
In this article: http://technology.amis.nl/blog/?p=1352 is describe a way to migrate a selected set of domain definitions from Oracle Designer to JHeadstart. This approach works for all releases of JHeadstart - from the early beginnings back in 2002 to the latest 10.1.3 release.
    best regards,
    Lucas

Probably better to ask / confirm this on the Warehouse Builder forum, but ....
I believe that OWB will always indicate a default value for NotNull columns. It might also do this for value-constrained columns (one where you have set Allowable Values directly for the column or for a domain associated to the column). In a normal situation, most column definitions are NullAllowed, but if you're doing some simple test runs and have nothing but key columns and some rudimentary data columns then you might have inadvertantly caused this situation.
    hope this helps

  • I need help migrating domain user profiles in a refresh scenario using hardlinks.

    Hi,
I am trying to create a TS that will capture all of the domain users and their settings from a machine. Then refresh it with a new O/S and restore the data.
I don't want to use a state migration point and I would prefer to save the data to the machine.
I am using a MDT TS with the standard TS steps.
There are two sections to USMT.
    Online USMT
    Offline USMT
I have set the Online USMT to capture locally by using hardlinks instead of copying files. But I read that this doesn't work unless you set the
OSDStateStorePath variable to a value. In my example I would need that to be a local folder on the machine. Does the folder have to exist on the machine?
There is also a condition that has been set on the Restore User State step.
    OSDStateStorePath exists
If any of the conditions are true
    Folder %OSDStateStorePath%\USMT exists
    Folder %OSDStateStorePath%\USMT3 exists
I would like to get this working.
    Thanks

  • Migrate domain accounts to new Mac

    Hello,
Does anyone know how to migrate the home folder of domain accounts to a new Mac? I have an iMac running 10.7 which is joined to Active Directory. The home folders of the domain accounts are stored on the iMac.
I have a new iMac with Mountain Lion. Migration Assistant only sees the one local account's home folder on the old machine. How can I migrate the domain account folders to the new Mac?
    Thanks,
    Jack

"...my question is simply one of drive compatibility. Would the new Mac Pro be able to use the HDD from the old G4?..."
No. Not cleanly at all. The Mac Pro's use SATA drives while the G4 would have IDE drives. They are different interfaces. You could potentially get an adapter, something like this to get your connections worked out. However, this issue is still going to be where to physically put the G4's drive inside the Mac Pro. An SATA drive would fit into a bracket, and simply slide right into all the appropriate connections (Power & Data).
But the adapter card you'd have to install to make the IDE drive work, will also prevent it from working as well. Hope that makes sense.
An alternative may be to buy an external Firewire enclosure, ready for an IDE (or "ATA") drive and put the old G4 drive there. Simple and clean - guaranteed to work.
An internal solution does not seem possible to me.

  • Migrate Domain controller 2003 to 2008

    Hi guys,
on my organisation we have two Domain controllers 2003R2.
the idea is to migrate to Windows 2008R2 because we have some servers running on Forest level 2000.
    the network information are :
    Currently servers
    DC1   Server 2003R2   IP 192.168.2.2  ( contain all the FSMO rules )
    DC2  Server 2003R2    IP 192.168.2.2  (( just replication server )
    New servers 2008R2
    DC01  Server 2008R2   IP 192.168.2.3
    DC02  Server 2008R2  IP 192.168.2.4
the idea is add DC01 to the domain that DC1 manage, and migrate the FSMO rolles to the DC1.
after i demote the DC1 i want to reuse it IP on the DC01 on the server.
my question is if i reuse it IP, all statice client will remain working ?
the reason why i need to reuse the IT is because i have about 100 static servers running. and can't change them in one day.
Does Windows 2008r2 support Foreste Level 2000 ?
to add the second replication server do i need to follow some tutorial for this ?
    Please advice !

    Hello,
for IP changes still the same answer as in
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/870c5999-070e-4825-9e8b-4ee50131bdf3/reuse-domain-ip?forum=winserverMigration
and for the functional level, yes. See
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/understanding-active-directory-functional-levels for the details which level can be used with which OS version.
But you should think about raising the levels at least to Windows server 2003 or is there a specific reason that you need Windows 2000?

  • Ldm migrate fails with : "Set PM policy to performance"

    Hi
after "panicing" 1 primary domain I'm trying to migrate one of its guest domain to another primary domain.
this procedure have been tested before and worked many times.
now when I try to migrate its says :
Migration is disabled because Power Management is active
Set PM policy to performance to enable migration
although when I check in the SP it is on performance like this:
    -> ls /SP/powermgmt
    /SP/powermgmt
    Targets:
    Properties:
    actual_power = 337
    policy = performance
    Commands:
    cd
    set
    show
( on both the source and the target machines the policy is performance )
I even tried to powercycle the 2 machines and it didn't changed anything.
    I use LDom Manager 1.3 , firmware 7.2.7
I noticed there is a new firmware 7.2.8 released 02 Apr 2010, maybe an upgrade will solve it?
    any other idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ori

  • Migrated domain replication from FRS to DFSR. Domain query

    Hello,
I run 3 domain controllers, all on the same LAN; the PDC is on 2008R2 and the others on 2012
I have today migrated from FRS to DFSR.
Without going through all the errors that dcdiag is now showing, I have a simple query. When our domain was setup, it was named COMPANY   ie. not COMPANY.LOCAL.    It has all seemed to work OK for ages but in DNS Forward Lookup Zones I see
    the following folders:
    _msdcs.company
    company
    company.company
In company.company are just the 3 domain controllers. Can I delete this folder?
Other question at this stage is about DNS forwarders. All LAN PCs point to the 3 x DCs for their DNS servers, and DNS Server is running on all 3 DCs. Should I put my ISPs DNS servers in the forwarders or not, and do I use root hints? (I have 2 ISPs so don't
know which ISP will be used by any PC as the router load balances)
    many thanks in advance

    Hi,
Yes, i think you could delete the folder, if the replication is ok.
You could use your ISPs DNS server as a forwarders.

  • Migration mapi failures

We're doing a migration from Exchange 2003 sp2 org to a new Exchange 2010 org using Quests migration tool.  We are running into random mapi logon error on mailboxes being moved.  It doesnt seem to be permissions because we can logon to problem
mailboxes using mfcmapi and the mailbox eventually does move.  We have adjusted the throttling polices on exchange 2010 according to quests documentation and are still randomly getting errors.  I found this error in the RCA Protocol Logs on exchange
2010 that seems to coincide with the mapi failures and was wondering if anyone had any idea what it means
RopHandler: Logon: Could not create folder Conversation Action Settings. -> MapiExceptionSearchEvaluationInProgress: Unable to create folder. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1177)

So we make a competing product "DigiScope"
    http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp and while our customers have not reported any issue like this here are my guesses at what it might be;
    1. Could be the version of Outlook you are using on the machine you are running from.  Outlook 2007 would be my best recommendation.
    2. Could be the account you are logged in as, i.e. we recommend that our customers setup a special account to use with our tool since existing accounts may have limitations based upon other group memberships etc.   We call that special account DSAdmin
and within this link there are details on how to set it up http://www.lucid8.com/download/documentation/DSWebHelp/SETUP/Rights_Required_for_Online_Database_And_Mailbox_Access.htm
    3. Could be a bug within the Quest product, however if you are running the latest version I would doubt that this was the case since I would hope any such bug was fixed by now, unless of course you are running an older version, so I think # 1 or # 2 would
    be the issue.
