Lead File Attachments General Question

Lead File Attachments General Question, can attachments somehow be made in the full edit view?

Attachments are Related Objects till R17. So it can not be seen in Full-Edit Mode.
In R18, one attachment is available at the Object Level.
Trust this helps.

    I am using BPM Workspace and my team is uploading File attachments as part of their task. As people update the file the version changes and they are also checking it out and checking it in.
    My question is what is happening behind the scenes?
    How is checkin checkout of file handled for attachments. I sthere a Buint in CVS?
    Where do these files reside? Which directory on the server.
    How do i change the configuration to make it reside in my corporate PVCS.

    By default the attachments are stored in the Engine Database, you can stored them also in Aqualogin Interaction (Old ALUI) now Webcenter Interaction.
    If you upload a file that already exists it creates a new version
    Hope it helps

  • Files that contain folder structures (i.e. Quicken) general questions

    My iMac hard drive just recently gave out. I've been backing up with Mozy, and I thought that was great. Until I tried to restore the Quicken file. This file is actually a directory structure inside. Unfortunately, Mozy treated this file as a folder, and I don't know how to combine all it's elements back into the original form.
    First, what is this file called in OS X speak? I read about these files years ago while looking into Quicken alternatives, but I can't find those posts again (yeah, I really wish I had converted to something else before now)
    Second, is there a way I can combine all it's pieces back into a single file like it was?
    I'm sure that when I get my new drive in my iMac and go to restore my entire home folder, I'll find other files like this; so it's for more than just Quicken that I want to know how to do this.

    They are not files as you think. They really are folders that are displayed as a file. So, there is really no way to put them "back together." If you name the folder with the appropriate extension, it will display as a single file. Generally, these are referred to as Packages.

  • Question re: File Attachments

    In my app, I have a Topic a user fills out (subject and body) and they need to be able to attach a file to the topic (one or more) much like in email. I set up a table that will accept the file as a blob and also accept a URL string (in case the user puts the file up on another server). Also there's a Display Name field for a title for the attachment. When the user submits the Topic and it is thereafter viewed as an entry by another user (as a reader) I want the Display Name of the attached file(s) to act as hyperlinks to the file attachments themselves (either as an uploaded file within the current app, or as a link to an uploaded file elsewhere). I do not want a choice field in my Topic to pick an attachment, but rather have a file upload control in the Topic form view or in another form view just for the attachment. Ideas? Advise? I am using JDev 10.1.3.1 and JHeadstart 10.1.3 with Oracle 10g.
    Thanks!!!
    Ginni

    Ginni,
    This is also documented in the JHeadstart Developers Guide, chapter 3, section "File Upload, File Download, Showing Image Files, and Playing Audio Files".
    Note that this functionality requires an ORDSYS.ORDDOC column type rather than a BLOB, since ADF only support file upload with intermedia types.

  • Adobe forms with file attachments

    Hello,
    I want to use file attachments in my offline adobe forms. I have found some articles about how to do that but it was all related to webdynpro which i'm not using for this scenario.
    Does anyone know how to do that in plain ABAP?

    How can I disable the automatic hiding of known file attachments, and why are always about 10 internet pages where I have to download something when I use mozila firefox?
    Windows Computer

    1) If you are talking about the file names on the computer, there is a
    setting to turn off known file types. Open your file browser. Then
    just under the location bar, press '''Tools,''' then '''Folder Options.'''
    A new window will open. Select '''View.''' Look for
    '''Hide Extensions For Known File Types.'''
    2) Never NEVER '''NEVER''' download anything unless you know what
    it is. If a web site claims it needs to download something, what is it?
    It could be something like the flash player, '''or a virus ! !'''

  • Why are my received file attachments (Office files such as .doc, .docx, .xlsx but also pdf files) corrupted - so that I cannot open them?

    For the last month, 90% of the file attachments that I receive by email will not open on my MacBook Pro (2009, running Mac OS 10.7.5). I get assorted messages, but generally saying that the file is corrupt, or the filename contains unacceptable characters. The problem has been generally with Word files (.doc and .docx)], Excel files (.xls and .xlsx) and pdf files.
    The bit that I don't understand is that I can open the same email attachments (without any problem) when downloaded on my iMac. And I have recently found that colleagues who received the same emails can open them, and can transfer the files to me (usually by USB stick) … and then I can open them. But I still cannot open the same files received as email attachments on my MacBook Pro.
    Which makes me think that the files (email attachments) are somehow being corrupted as they are downloaded?
    I installed the Mac OS X Update Combined 10.7.5 in July, so perhaps this was when the problem started? And, although it may be unrelated, around the same time as this problem started, I transferred some files from a colleague's computer on a USB stick and found that the USB stick had picked up a virus/malware, which meant that the stick was dead, and I had to reformat the stick. I scanned my computer (using ClamXav, with the latest updates) and quarantined a file found on the USB stick and on my computer.
    Any thoughts on why this might happen, and what I can do to sort it out (as it is making work very difficult - I travel a lot, and rely on being able to open and read files sent from countries all over the world, often by people using old versions of Office software)? I have never had problems in the past, and can't understand why my other computer, and my colleagues, can all open these files, but my laptop will not! Many thanks for any help!

    I opened one of the PDF files in notepad and these are the first couple lines:

  • BPM 11G comments and file attachments issue on human tasks

    Hi all,
    We have used JDeveloper 11G and SOA suite 11G + BPM (with PS1,PS2) to create and deploy a simple BPM process. The process consists of two swim-lanes ( Business Analyst and Snr Executive). The BA swim-lane has a human task which which initiates the process and the second swim-lane (SE) has a voting task. Both forms were auto generated.
    ------ Process steps ----
    step 1. The initiator of the process( Business analyst) submits a document and adds comments on the form. (1st swim lane)
    step 2. The task is received by the Snr Executive group and they need to accept or reject the document.
    step 3. If any of the Snr Execs rejects the document, the process flow goes back to the Business analyst(the requester or initiator) for review.
    (the voting group is able to share comments and the file attachments).
    step 4. The business analyst receives a task on her list. This task list should have the comments made by the Snr Execs who rejected the document. ---This is where we are having a problem. The business Analyst, receives the task, but the document and comments are not updated. This still shows the original document and comments, she sent when initiating the process.
    We have opened a SR with My Oracle support and it was suggested we apply a hot fix 9958661, which was done (see output below). Unfortunately this did not solve the problem.
    Questions:
    1. Is the default behavior of BPM 11G ?
    2. How can we change this behavior to do what we want ?
    ---------------------------------------opatch update output -----------------------------------------------------------
    ApplySession adding interim patch '9958661' to inventory
    Verifying the update...
    Inventory check OK: Patch ID 9958661 is registered in Oracle Home inventory with proper meta-data.
    Files check OK: Files from Patch ID 9958661 are present in Oracle Home.
    The local system has been patched and can be restarted
    I any suggestions would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Mocheche

    Ok, this is what i did:
    - I have a Process Data Object called CustomComments with just 1 attribute called comments.
    - I have added that object to my user screens (adf page)
    - Changed its columns att to 65 and rows to 8 (i chose that layout)
    - Used a tableLayout to add an icon next to this text area to allow the user to add comments:
    <af:commandImageLink shortDesc="addCommentImage" id="addCommentImage" partialSubmit="true" icon="/hw_images/new_ena.png">
         <af:clientListener method="myFunction" type="click"/>
         <af:clientAttribute name="attributeName" value="attributeValue"/>
    </af:commandImageLink>
    I use that clientAttribute to send the logged user to the javascipt.
    - I added this after the af:document on top of the page to make the customComments readonly to the user (you need to do it here because if you set it in the properties the element is not updated later), so the user has to use the button i put to add comments:
    <f:facet name="metaContainer">
         <f:facet name="metaContainer">
         <af:resource type="javascript">
              function readOnly(){
                   var comms = document.getElementById("it1::content");
                   comms.setAttribute("readOnly","true")
         </af:resource>
    </f:facet>
    <af:clientListener method="readOnly" type="load"/>
    - Somewhere i added the javascript the commandLink calls:
    <trh:script id="myScripts">
         function addComment(evt){
              var commentArea = document.getElementById("it1::content");
    var user = evt.getSource().getProperty("user");
    var comm = prompt("Please enter your comment: ","");
              if (comm != null) {
                   if (comm != ""){
                        if (commentArea.value !=""){commentArea.value = commentArea.value + "\n"}
                        commentArea.value = commentArea.value + "user.value" + " : " + comm;
    </trh:script>
    After all this, you have an object that carries the comments from one screen (UI project) to another and is updated each time.
    I know it may not be the perfect solution and that it could be improved a lot, but so far it does what i need so i use it.
    If there is anything i wasnt clear enough, please let me know. Hope this helps.

  • Multiple file attachments in InfoPath 2010 Form

    I need to attach at least 10 files in an Infopath form and it submits to a form library. is there any limit for attaching multiple files in a form and how can i increase the size for multiple File Attachments in Central Admin?

    Hi fadnan,
    For every web application, the document upload limit is the combined limit of all attachments that can be added to a list item. This is in the General settings for your web application in Central Admin.
    In case of Infopath forms, it depends upon user session. You can view this setting in Central Admin > General Application Settings > Infopath Forms Services > Configure Infopath Form Services. Scroll down to User Sessions.
    By default "Maximum size of user session data" is defined as 4MB but you can increase this limit to upload larger files. Hope it helps.

  • How to remove file attachments using the SDK

    I am looking for ways to programmatically remove file attachments from work items.  If I recall correctly, the system only keeps the file for as long as the relationship exists, so that, in theory, the file is deleted from the database a soon as the
    relationship is removed.
    I found this
    Using the SDK to Create and Edit Objects and Relationships Using Type Projections
    Is this the only way or are the other, simpler ways for deleting relationships and/or file attachments?
    Is this something I could do with the Orchestrator Remove Relationship activity?
    A little background on this question: I have multiple different teams with varying data retention requirements for Service Requests.  My longest requirement is 3 years (audit) while most teams only require 90 days.  I was looking to add in some
    jobs for some more aggressive file attachment grooming to keep the database smaller.
    Thanks.

    The relationship is defined as a membership/containment relationship. So, yes, if you delete the relationship, the file attachment (and the associated blob) are deleted as well.
    Based on the background you described, I'm assuming you identify a bunch of work orders whose files you want to delete if they're older than X. So, for instance "Work Items with Y team; delete file attachments older than 90 days", "Work Items
    with Q team; delete file attachments older than 3 years". Is that right?
    If so, you don't necessarily need to delete relationships specifically...you can simply delete the file attachment objects which will delete the relationship, the file attachment object, and the associated blob (the file itself in the database).
    Using the SDK, you will not need type projections for this. You'll only need the work item object(s) (an incident or service request or whatever), the GetRelatedObjects<>() method, and an IncrementalDiscoveryData object.
    So, after you get all of the appropriate work items, you can use the following snippet to delete their file attachments if the attachments meet your age requirements
    //Connect to the management group
    String strMySCSMServer = "<my mgmt server>";
    emg = new EnterpriseManagementGroup(strMySCSMServer);
    IncrementalDiscoveryData idd = new IncrementalDiscoveryData();
    ManagementPackRelationship relWorkItemHasFileAttachment = emg.EntityTypes.GetRelationshipClass(new Guid("AA8C26DC-3A12-5F88-D9C7-753E5A8A55B4")); //System.WorkItemHasFileAttachment
    //Get the work item's related file attachments using it's Id
    Guid myWorkItemGuid = new Guid("<some work item guid>");
    IList<EnterpriseManagementObject> lstFileAttachments = emg.EntityObjects.GetRelatedObjects<EnterpriseManagementObject>(myWorkItemGuid, relWorkItemHasFileAttachment, TraversalDepth.OneLevel, ObjectQueryOptions.Default);
    //Loop through each file attachment
    foreach (EnterpriseManagementObject emoFile in lstFileAttachments)
    //Determine its age
    DateTime AddedDate = (DateTime)emoFile[null, "AddedDate"].Value;
    TimeSpan FileAttachmentAge = AddedDate.Subtract(DateTime.Now);
    //Prep the file attachment for deletion if it's old enough, in this example, older than 90 days
    if (FileAttachmentAge.Days > 90)
    idd.Remove(emoFile);
    //Submit the deletions to the database.
    idd.Commit(emg);

  • Security and file attachments

    I've got a form with some scripted buttons for attaching files.
    When I set security settings on the form my buttons stop working and I get the following error:
    NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
    The security settings I'm trying to use are:
    Restrict Editing:
    Printing Allowed - high resolution,
    Changes Allowed - Filling in form fields and signing...
    Enable text access for screen reader...
    I've tried setting security in Designer and in Acrobat but not having any luck. Is this able to be done?
    The file will also be run through Reader Extensions - I've tried this as well with setting  "Embedded file attachments" turned on but no luck.

    It looks really good! I particularly like the last click to agree that highlights null mandatory fields - neat - JB influence. I like the colour scheme, but if it was me I would colour the buttons separately. A green tinge for positive action "attach file", "add milestone" and a red tingle for negative action "delete milestone".
    Yeah, having fun with John's script objects.
    I've started colouring the +/- buttons on other forms, I think it works quite well as well. Definitely want to get into using more colour for feedback. We're trying to get into using more colour in general with some of the old print forms we're converting. I kind of like using coloured backgrounds with white fields.
    Also just a few points (I hope you don't mind). I would underline Program Guide and have an invisible button over it with the full url for the guide. That way people don't land on the home page an have to find it. The url is probably too long to have written out on the form. I think some tooltips would help guide the user through the form (particurarly some of the technical stuff) and this would also get rid of the object names. It is personal preference but Caroline Jarrett's book "Forms That Work" would shy away from all caps.
    Good idea on the url - I'd meant to do something with that but nobody seemed to notice. They opted for supplying a guide vs tooltips and/or popup help...I'd meant to run through it and nuke the field name tooltips but didn't get time - ah well.
    We just got that book but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.
    Maybe the script could count the number of attachments and if the min. is not present, also throw up an alert.
    Good idea - I was trying to figure out the best way to check for the file attachments, but they decided there was the possibility that people might supply some information under separate cover - same reason we didn't make the expanding tables scripted mandatory, in case they left an extra row in or something.
    I wish I had another week to work on it but it's live now!

  • Delete scriptcode - General question: capacity limit of Acrobat Windows

    Hello everybody,
    I've got a general question to the capacity limit of Acrobat Windows.
    I often make forms with
    for instance the current one has 18 pages. Eleven pages have fields on it. (But some pages have only one field on it) The fields of one page to another are sometimes linked with script code. The file needs nearly 1 MB.
    Usual I write the script code by a double-click on the field/ calculate/ custom calculation script. (Is this the right way?) Today it happens again that a field with script code lost the script code.
    That's why I wonder whether there is a capacity limit of Acrobat Windows or whether I make mistakes. (This is only one instance of several where the form has his own life.)
    Thanks in advance for helping me!
