Lenovo G50-45 why is no USB 3.0 driver listed for this model

I started a clean boot of Windows 7 x64 from USB as I'm not a fan of Windows 8 but since installing I've been unable to get the USB 3.0 port to recognize anything I plug in (was working fine before).
I can't see a USB 3.0 driver listed on the support page for this model:

I've also read similar problems have occured on other manufacturers laptops and this was fixed by installing the chipset drivers etc in the correct order.
Is there a correct order I should adhere to?

Peak Read (USB 3.0): 36.2Mb/s (288Mbit/s)
Peak Write (USB-HS 3.0): 48.7Mb/s (384Mbit/s)
This is far below the 620MB/s for 3.0 and is more around the 35MB/s USB 2.0 standard.
So, I'm likely to agree with the original compaintant that the 3.0 standards aren't being employed by the MacOSX USB drivers and I'd hope to see a fix soon for these issues lest people start moving off of the Mac platforms to other vendors who adhere to industry guidelines.

HP Support Assisstant - why does it not recommend all driver updates for the model?

I use HP Support Assisstant, and it is configured to update my machine weekly. I have had video problems and now have audio problems. How come certain KEY drivers are not coming through on Support Assistant automatically? OK, what operating system are you using? When the printer reportedly goes offline, does it still have a valid IP address from the router (print a Wireless Network Test from the front of the printer - make sure the IP is not 169.254.x.x nor 0.0.0.0)?

Why is my USB 3.0 drive running at USB 2.0 speeds?

(data for visual reference)
USB 1.1 - 12 Mbit/s
USB 2.0 - 480 Mbit/s
USB 3.0 - 5 Gbit/s
SATA revision 1.0 - 1.5 Gbit/s - 150 MB/s
SATA revision 2.0 - 3 Gbit/s - 300 MB/s
SATA revision 3.0 - 6 Gbit/s - 600 MB/s
When COPYING (not updating) large volumes of data from my internal Segate SATA-III Hybrid drive to an external Seagate USB 3.0 drive, this is what is happening:
Both using OSX
Both data COPY (not updating / integration)
rsync (terminal interface) - 50MB/s transfer or 480Mbit/s (exact USB 2.0 speeds)
copy (desktop drag-n-drop) - 1GB every 15-18 seconds (again, exact USB 2.0 speeds)
1GB * 8 = 8Gbit / 15 = 533,333,333 or about 500Mbit/s
1GB * 8 = 8Gbit / 18 = 444,444,444 or about 444Mbit/s
[So, what I have read about rsync -vs- cp is true -- they are identical for fresh copies.]
But this means that either Seagate or Apple is lying about supporting USB 3.0. I read a report in Feb 2012 that while Apple claims to support USB 3.0, they have not enabled the driver to force people to upgrade to Thunderbolt adapters. Did this change with the Summer 2012 and new models?
The ABOUT THIS MAC profile says my USB 3.0 devices are enabled to transfer up to 5GB/s, but clearly, they are running at EXACTLY USB 2.0 speeds.
Even if the Seagate external drive is just SATA-I, then it should be able to deliver 1.2Gbit/s -- 3x what I am seeing! The fact that the speeds are EXACTLY USB 2.0 tells me the MacBook Pro, while claiming USB 3.0 speeds is nothing more than a USB 2.0 port.
Can someone explain what is happening?

PCI simple communications controller on my 3000 K series needs a driver update for the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. I have a 64 bit system. I had no errors during my install,and Windows 7 has been working well. What can I do???

USB External Hard Drive Question for the E4200 v1 router

I know this is going to be a really dumb question, especially coming from a computer tech of 25 years, but I'm going to ask it just to be safe.
First off, my router is the E4200 v1. It's a substitute for my older WRT54GS router. One of the features I am quite fascinated with is the USB external drive usage. Here's my question. I have a Western Digital My Passport Essentials 500 GB external drive (Model #WDBAAA5000ABB-02) that I want to use on it. I know it's not on the Official List of tested USB storage devices for the Linksys E4200 but I really want to use it, especially for storage on my three computer systems. My question is do I need to unplug the router power supply BEFORE I plug in the external drive to the USB port on the back, or does it matter?
Any help is appreciated. Again, I know it's a dumb question, but the guides and "How-To" on the Linksys website isn't exactly clear. Thanks in advance!

Why isn't newly installed hard drive available for startup?

Here's what I did:
1. Backed up Macbook Pro data to external drive.
2. Installed new hard drive in Macbook Pro
3. Put old drive in hd enclosure
4. Connected old drive in enclosure to Macbook Pro via USB
4. Formatted new drive using Disk Utilities from old drive.
OK, everything seems to be fine and the new drive icon is on the desktop BUT the new drive is NOT available as a startup disc. It works as a regular disc as far as transferring files, but doesn't show up in the "select disc for startup" window. What's wrong? Thanks.

You did something incorrectly:
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
         (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Partition button.
     3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
         with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
     4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
         Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
         username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
         Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
         install of OS X. You can now begin the update process by opening Software
         Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

Why isn't there 2 storage drives (1 for the software and 1 for all you put on the iDevice) for the iOS devices?

I'm really wondering, because I'm seeing that iOS overtime takes up a heck-load of space…

Why doesn't itunes have 320 kbps listed for ripping audio tracks from CD as one of the default options?

Now I know you can ignore the defaults and create custom settings for ripping audio from CD's, but I'm curious why the good folks at apple didn't add 320kbps as a default. I figured it would be a default option since 320 kbps seems to be the standard for good quality when it comes to CD rips.
Am I wrong here? Anyone have any ideas?

Why do I get the message "The certificate for this server is invalid"?

Mail was working ok this morning but now I keep getting this message and the mail stays in my outbox....
Can anyone advise me what steps I need to take to sort this out ?

For reasons only known to itself suddenly the messages stopped and mail came back on line.
However I have gone into System Preferences to check and select the correct boxes as suggested.
Set date and time automatically is selected and I assume as in England UK, I need to reselect Apple Europe as opposed to the preselected Apple US.
Thing is, how and why did it change in the first place ?

USB 2.0 driver needed for Zen Touch 20

Iam a Linux user and seem to have read that special drivers are necessary for the Zen to be recognized (on Windows, obviously). That is not how USB is supposed to work. Can anyone confirm that special software must be used for any USB aware computer to recognize the Zen?

I didn't really understand your question but I hope this clears out any doubt you have. I use both OS's Linux and Windows. Under linux I managed to use my zen touch by installing the gnomad application. I didn't had to install anything else to use it, I was using suse and before installing gnomad all the hardware drivers were already installed by suse. In windows the only thing I had to install were the drivers that came with the zen touch's cd or the one available at the download section. to be able to transfer data to it you will need to install the nomad explorer, for music you can either use window media player 0 or nomad explorer. Besides that nothing else is needed to be installed. There has been some post complaining about some usb adapters not being able to detect the zen touch, what SSR recommends (and me too) is that you install the latest drivers for your motherboard and if it still doesn't work buy a PCI usb 2.0 adapter. Why can't I have the Samsung Haven replaced without paying for a new phone since the battery needed for this model will not hold a charge more then 24 hrs?

The Haven is my husbands phone and he calls me from work every night and we talk about 15 minutes. He calls my verizon phone so there is no charge but the problem we have is the phone will not stay charged. We took it in and had it tested along with the house charge and the car charge. All three device are fine so they ordered us a new battey. We put that in and the same thing happens. We don't text, receive text, take or send pictures. We have texting blocked so nothing can use up his battery and yet it still dies. Can you please tell me how we can get this phone replaced without buying a new one. The contract isn't up for renewal until Oct. 2013. We have been long time customers of verizon and I feel we should be able to get a product replaced if it is a defective product the company is selling. It seems Verizon knows there is a problem since there have been so many complaint filed in the last 9 months. If we buy something from Home Depot or Lowes and that product is not working right, they replace it and they go back to the companies that supply it. I am willing to bet Samsung would take Verizon,s complaint more seriously then they would an average consummer. Please tell me Verizon is finally listening to their customers.

We definitely don't want you having a phone described as a lemon so let's work on getting everything back up to a peachy status. What you've indicated is certainly an issue. So, let's fix this.
First, when it comes to your calls not ringing or registering in your log, my recommendation is to update your phone. To do this, simply dial *228, choose option 2, wait for completion and for your phone to restart itself. This will have it resync with our network for optimal usage. Regarding the battery, personally I like to pull my battery every now and again for up to 60 seconds before reinserting (all while the phone is powered off). If you don't notice improvement, we may need to look into a replacement if life is shortlived below what was described prior.

Why PR department can see invited vendor list for RFQ

I found that PR department can see invited vendor list for RFQ in PR Document Status tab. In my company, invited vendor list should be kept confidential and only authorized persons can access. As PR authorizatin control is not down to PR creator, this information may be disclosed to other non-related persons wihtin same purhasing group. In SAP, I would like to know the rationale to let the PR department know the RFQ vendors. Moerover, I want to understand the current industrial practice on treating RFQ vendor list information so that I can make recommendation for senior review. Thanks in advance

You issue well explained the 50% of solution. As you said importance for all organization to have secured and efficient authorization concept. Based on organizational structures and business processes an authorization matrix( is just working sheet) is very useful for to control all t.codes under Module / Business role specific.
For example:
Purchase Requisition (internal purchasing document) is a request by any department to purchasing department to supply material or provides service. Only here user(Mr.X) in department create PR(ME51N) and Department head (Mr.Y) release (ME54N)the Purchase Requisition(PR). For change PR , you can use Mr.X and you can have another User ID Mr.Z { Mr.X, Mr.Y & Mr.Z should not have access for RFQ or PO details}
Once Purchase Requisition released, then its responsibility purchasing organisation or respective purchasing group (buyer) , start work on determining source by sending Request for quotation(RFQ,ME41) to different vendors by Mr.A. Once all quotation received, you can maintain quotation in ME47 by user Mr.B. In vendor selection process, you can compare quotation in ME49 by user Mr.C.( also you can set approval process for Request for quotation ME45 by Mr.D) {Mr.A, Mr.B,Mr.C,Mr.D may have access on PR but no access on PO)
Once Vendor decided, user (Mr.E) can create Purchase Order (PO )and then it will be released by Mr.F, so then only PO print send to vendor. {Mr.E & Mr.F have access on PR & PO}
Likewise you should have different users for authorisation based on role in inventory management ( Mr. G can receive goods, Mr.H can have authorisation for Excises, Mr.J can have issuing goods)

Why does MAX say %22The remote access list on this system is blank%22%3F

I am building and deploying a real-time data acquisition/control system using LabVIEW RT (2012 SP1) and a PXI controller. I've tested my software, and it runs fine, now that I've figured out how to build stand-alone executables for both the Host and RT Target systems.
Due to a bug on the RT side (which I hope I've now fixed), I needed to "rebuild" my PXI Controller, reinstall LabVIEW RT and related software, and reconfigure all of the Tasks in MAX (version 5.5). To save the Configuration (and simplify reconfiguring the Tasks and Channels), I tried to export the configuration using the Configuration Export Wizard in MAX. However, there were some (minor?) inconsistencies in some of the devices (such as NI-488.2) between the Host and Remote systems that generated some errors. I was able to correct this by asking MAX to do a Reset Configuration Data on the Host, and those problems went away.
After exporting the NI Configuration Export File for my PXI, I decided to use MAX to Create Reports on both my Host and Remote PXI systems. While reviewing the PXI's report, I noticed that the last entry in the report, called "Security", reads as follows:
"The remote access list on this system is blank. This means that no remote system has access to this system."
What does this mean? Where is the "remote access list on this system", and how is it maintained? Note that I haven't (yet) tried deploying my (formerly-working) Project to this (rebuilt) Controller, but I haven't made changes in LabVIEW, itself.
If I look at the Properties of the RT Target in Project, the VI Server properties (still) show TCP/IP enabled (port 3363) with Machine Access given to "*" (all machines) and, similarly, all Exported VIs allowed access.
Am I missing something? Can I safely ignore the above Security report entry generated by MAX, or is there a hidden setting I need to find and change?

I agree, but I've never heard about "Security Settings" in MAX. When I first read your note, I went looking and couldn't find "Logging into your System". I came back a day later, was going to write a "There is not such topic!" reply, but fortunately I looked again, and found it. I suspect the reason I never ran into this was that my controllers were all using older BIOSes -- I'd just "rebuilt" this controller, including updating its BIOS, and ran into the Login prompt for the first time ...
Thanks for pointing me in (what turns out to be) the right direction!

Why an Error Message "Valid size not available for this Creation" in Elements 10 Photo Collage

I have several image editing programs, but I bought Elements 10 specifically to do things the others wouldn't. I wish to make a photo collage but all I get when I try, after following the instructions in the "help" and "Elements 10 for Dummies" is an error message stating "Valid Size not available for this Creation." A meaningless phrase anyway because nowhere does it request a "valid size." Please will someone tell me the magiac words to make my lovely collage automaticaslly, or shall I revert to doing it manually on one of my other excellant image editing programs?

Why "Basic Page Style" is not an option for this website?

I have problems with this internal website at work. I have seen it before at home with www.taringa.net, the problem is that the web page just displays text without the styling sheet settings, and when I go to View > Page Style, I can only see "No Style" then a separator line, and then an option like c3c_base or some custom name. The " Basic Page Style" is not there and I can't view the web pages correctly. If I create a new FF profile, I can then see the page just fine, although the same options are available from such menu.

Did you try to clear the cache?
"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
