Lenovo PSU concerns and Return Policy Clarification

I recently bought an Erazer x315 with an A8 Processor, r9 255 graphics card (arriving today). However, I recently did research on power supplies and discovered it only has a 280W power supply and according to online sources, the recommended is 400W+ for this graphics card (not to mention the rest of the components). If I want to upgrade the power supply it'll be another 50-70 dollars and I don't know if I'd be voiding the warranty by opening the tower. I'd like to return it but the 15% fee is very heavy (60 dollars or so). However, I've also read that if the package is unopened I may be able to return it without the restocking fee? Is there at least a discount in the fee for unopened merchandise? Can anyone confirm this? Is there any way Lenovo would be willing to replace this power supply with a better one? This is my first Lenovo and I am pretty disappointed that they would put in an insufficient crucial component that could potentially damage the entire system. I will be doing 3d modeling as well as playing games on this so I know the graphics card will be taxed. Thank you for your help.

I don't know if this is the right thread but here it goes.
When I started my new Lenovo W530 for the first time today, I noticed a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. This really bugs me and I am wondering if I have a right of withdrawal or similar to fix this? Does anybody know?
I am unable to reach Lenovo by their chat service, but someone here might have a similar experience?
Best,
Dolve
You can always return the machine. Lenovo has a 21 day return policy.  See http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/ww/ag/merchandising/us/popups/returnpolicy.html
You're going to need to come up with more defects than a single pixel if you want to avoid a restocking fee.  I think you need 4-5 pixels to use that.

  • IPhone 4 Returns - policy and experience clarification (US AT&T or Apple)

I'm considering returning my iPhone 4 and waiting to see how "issues" sort out before repurchasing. (the issues are well covered elsewhere on the board, would like to focus here just on return policy and experiences of others)
The stated Apple policy for iPhones is 30 days (14 days for other products, but 30 for iPhones), but says there will be a 10% restocking fee assessed (and I assume this would be based on non-discounted full list price of the phone).
    http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html#iphonereturns
Those of you who have returned your phone - did you have to pay the 10% restocking fee? Was your return to AT&T or to Apple?

Nobody knows (in att and apple)  what to do in this cases..  and i dont understand why..  they are the "experts".
Thank you so much for your response.
There is nothing to be done. Unlocking is at the discretion of the carriers. Apple has no say in the matter at all. There is no law or regulation in the US that requires AT&T to unlock phones. Since they feel that it is not in their financial best interest to do so, they will not do so.
Apple is correct in stating it is AT&T that must initiate an unlock. Unfortunately, AT&T will not do so, so you're stuck.

  • Potential MBP Pro Buyer Warranty/Return Policy Concerns

    Hi folks,
I'm a long-term Windows user seriously considering moving to the MacBook Pro. I have followed the forums here for two months to gather info regarding problems and resolutions. I understand that the forums will naturally gather input from people with problems more often than satisfied customers, but following the discussions has left me a few concerns I thought you might could help me with. Most of the problems posted have had some response/resolution from Apple, which is encouraging. Some, however, seem to have had problems that were addressed by a " that's within specs" response, most concering (to me) of which are (1) heat generation; (2) uneven LCD display; and (3) limited wifi distance reception.
The return policy states that in order to return for refund you have to do so within 14 days AND that any "customized" product "may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances" except Dead on Arrival. First, does this mean if I, for example, order a different size hard drive than standard that my MBP is not eligible for refund? Also, if I take a "stock" machine and I have a problem with, say, the wifi reception and Apple takes it in for repair and it's returned "within specs" after 14 days and I still hate it, is it no longer eligible for refund?
I'm impressed with what I've read about MBP, but I'm also concerned about dropping $3,700 (as I've spec'd mine with the software and accessories I need) and then having no recourse if my wifi won't pick up more than 10 feet from the wireless router, as some have experienced.
Any help appreciated, sorry for the length of the post.

Heat Generation: People have over dramatized this problem. People are still trying to stop/reverse the movement from a Portable back to a "laptop". The bottom line is that the faster these things get, the more heat they will generate. I just used my fiance's Powerbook (one generation right behind our MacBook Pros) and for what I was doing the Powerbook remained cold and my MBP got hot. The difference... my MBP got the task done 4x faster.
There are a few people with abnormal heating concerns, but I doubt that any person really brought their computer in complaining about the heat... they seem to just whine here about it and then emphasize that they paid so much money for the device.
Uneven LCD Display: I'm assuming you mean the backlight. My display and many other peoples' work great. There are maybe 1 or 2 display settings where I would consider the display "uneven" but it's when I have the computer at 1 or 2 bars of darkness. At high to full brightness my computer has no dark spots. Any applecare rep should take care of any display lighting problems.
Limited Wifi reception: Now this one is a problem. I really wouldn't call it limited, I would call it unreliable. My WiFi is HORRENDOUS using WEP, but since changing all of my WEP connections to WPA or some other form of security my MBP has provided excellent wireless coverage.

  • Dummy DVD drive - return policy?

    ATTN: Administrator
I received my Lenovo laptop today.  Upon examining it to make sure that all the specs matched, I realized that LENOVO put a dummy DVD drive when in the sales email they specifically state that it is included with the PC.  I called customer support only to be lied to by a customer service agent that this system was not supposed to arrive with a DVD bay.  I even asked her, "why go out of your way to lie about the situation when it is clearly stated on the confirmation email, delivery box, and part number?"  Her voice quickly changed and requested I take photos of the system.  This is was purchased through LENOVO.com.
I am just curious how they are going to handle this after my second attempt to get this straightened out.  Will they offer to send it back to the factory to install the DVD drive, have it looked at an authorized retailer or lie about it again?  Would LENOVO offer a replacement, exchange or refund?  According to their "return policy", it states that they do so in case of an error.  Personally, I am skeptical about their return policy after reading all these horrible stories of people getting lied to.
I have faith in this company and that they will fix a simple error on their part.  PC's are not cheap, so hope they handle it the right way.
Dear ADMINISTRATOR, do you have any suggestions how I can get this problem worked out?
Thank you for your anticipated help.

  • HELP: I need to link a PDF within PDF and be able to open and return to original PDF

I have a master PDF and have attached 7 supplemental PDF documents. I created "click here" icons and used the steps below so that the linked document would open. The problem is, once I open the supplemental PDF, it closes the original master. I would like to close the linked document and return to the master view. Is there a way to do this?
Or is there a way to do this from InDesign? I created master file in InDesign and exported as an Interactive PDF.  I created the buttons and linked them to external files. This works great as long as the master PDF and the links are all in one file, but that is a pain to send to a viewer. Ideally, I want to be able to send the master PDF to a viewer and not have to send a links folder. Is there a way to embed the supplemental PDFs into the master so that they are all combined into one file AND have the ability to use buttons to call up one of the attachments, close, and return to the original?
    Thanks in advance!!

I want to do the same thing that the original poster of this question wants to do. I haven't worked extensively with Acrobat so am finding by trial and error the several ways PDFs within PDFs can be accomplished. I'm using a trial version of Acrobat Pro X and have experimented with three options.
1 - I've created a Portfolio and am impressed with what that can do, though I think it may be "overkill" for the current size of my project.
2 - I've also tried creating this project as an index but discovered that the links I'd created in the original docs didn't work when I moved the index and its contents (keeping the file structure the same). I presume this means the links are absolute? I also don't understand how it is that users search a .pdx file, or how to present what I want to be the original opening PDF of indexed docs.
3 - I've also thought to create one PDF with attached PDFs, so I'd like to have you expand on your comment about creating a master document and attaching documents to it.
The specifics of my project are these: I have created a master directory that contains approximately 120 links. Most of the links are repeated three times (users can find in the directory the item they need in three different ways: alphabetically, by application, or by module; hence each item listed once in each of three categories). I want to make that directory the "master" PDF that users open first, and then locate within that PDF the 5-8 PDF documents that contain all of the places to which the directory links. I want the "master" directory to be self-contained and completely "portable" as far as all of the documents and links are concerned so that when I make the PDF available from our website users can open the master from there or copy it and have all of the docs they need with all of the links intact. I think I prefer that all docs open in new windows, since returning to the original doesn't seem very user friendly in Acrobat (I like the tabs feature in FoxIt when multiple PDFs are open...).
I'd like an opinion about the best way to accomplish what I need to do, and am also wondering whether there are other options I am unaware of. BTW, the reason we've decided to document this whole project in PDFs rather than HTML is because this project contains a big number of tables, which do not look consistent across various browsers (i.e., most of our tables look fine in IE and Firefox, but awful in Google Chrome...). In researching my issue on the Acrobat Windows forum I see that rendering tables in Acrobat is also an issue that seems to be unresolved.
    Thank you!

  • Best Buy Return Policy for Cell Phones

I bought an LG G Flex on 1 July. I rooted it when I got home. A couple of days later, I found out that I would have to unroot it in order to get the KitKat update, so I returned it to stock condition and tried to get the update. It booted into Jellybean fine, I made sure that the recovery was back to stock, and I made sure that the SU binaries were not present.
I ran the update for KitKat, and my phone ended up shutting off and not turning back on. I had a full battery at the time. I'm not entirely sure what happened during the update process, but it looks like a partition got corrupted. I couldn't tell, because I couldn't turn the phone on. I figured I'd exchange the phone for a new one. I checked online to see if any of the Best Buy stores in my area had any G Flexes left in stock, and they didn't. I had to drive about an hour and a half away to Schaumburg, IL to try to do the exchange. While they were going through the process of trying to fix the phone before exchanging it, I told them that I could have fixed it if I could get it to boot into Download mode or recovery. They then asked me if I had rooted my phone. I told them that I had, but I returned it to stock in order to take the KitKat update. They refused to do the exchange, so I had to drive to the Best Buy in Arlington Heights, IL. At this store, a "multi-channel sales supervisor" named April {removed per forum guidelines} told me that they wouldn't be able to process the exchange because they couldn't turn the phone on. She directed me to call 888-BEST-BUY, which I did. The customer service representative looked at my account and told me that she had no idea why I was told I couldn't exchange my phone. By this time the Arlington Heights Best Buy had closed. I had to drive back out there the next day to get the issue resovled. It took me an hour and a half to get there. I was able to do the exchange at that time, and I saw April at the customer service counter and told her that the CSR I spoke with over the phone had no idea why I was told I couldn't do the exchange. She then told me that she had received an email from the Schaumburg store that I had rooted my phone and to not do the exchange. She then kicked me out of the store.
Firstly, the return policy says this regarding mobile device returns:
If you decide to return a phone or device with a plan, you are responsible for canceling your service contract with the carrier, and for all carrier charges.
There are two ways to return your phone or device and cancel your service:
    • Return your device to a Best Buy store. Be sure to tell the store associate that you want to cancel your service. Carrier service cancellation policies may vary.
    • Call Best Buy Mobile at 1-877-702-2211 (6 a.m. to midnight, CT) for instructions on how to return the device by mail. Let the phone associate know that you want to cancel your service.
There is nothing there about rooted or jailbroken devices. If Best Buy wants to exclude those devices, all it takes is adding one sentence: "Mobile devices with custom or altered firmware are not eligible for return or exchange under this Policy." Because there is nothing in the stated return policy against returning such a device, the Schaumburg store should have accepted the return. At the very least, they should not have notified other stores, seeing as I wasn't trying to get anyone to violate the return policy.
Secondly, I don't appreciate being lied to, and I feel that April lied to me. She was also incredibly rude to me when I asked about why she had directed me to call customer service. If she had told me that Schaumburg had told her that my phone was rooted, I could have dealt with the Schaumburg store and spoken with their manager. Asking me to leave the store for trying to figure out what the hell was going on (and after she had found out that I had already gotten my phone exchanged) was even more rude. I was not looking for a fight. I just wanted answers, and perhaps a little consideration for the fact that I had to waste four hours of my life dealing with this when it should have been dealt with the previous day.
These experiences, along with an ongoing problem with an online order that is not relevant to this topic and which I have explained in a thread that was about a similar problem, are making it incredibly unlikely that I will ever shop at Best Buy again. Not even for things that I have an urgent need for, like replaement charging cables when mine crap out. I can wait two days for Amazon to ship them to me. I am also more likely to tell my friends and family to avoid shopping at Best Buy because of these experiences.
The employees of the Best Buy stores in Schaumburg and Arlington Heights certainly seem like they actually want this:
    into this:

    Hello again Sloppy_Carlton,
I’m glad to see you are utilizing the forums to reach out to us about multiple experiences, although I am sorry to see that neither of the experiences you posted about left you feeling delighted.
Per our Return & Exchange Promise, we may return or exchange almost everything; however, devices that are damaged would be excluded. It seems the unauthorized modification (rooting and unrooting the phone) may have been the cause of the phone not turning on when attempting to update your operating system to KitKat. We would not be able to accept this device for an exchange or return as it would be considered damage from the unauthorized modification.
That being said, I’m glad to hear you seem to have been provided a one-time solution to this experience. We truly value your insight and the time you have taken to share these insights with us. If you should need any further assistance, please feel welcome to reach out to us.
Thank you for posting on the forum!

  • Compilation of Lenovo X120e issues and solutions

Just thought a compilation of issues may be beneficial for folks who own an X120e.
Screen adjusts brightness automatically without user input depending on content on screen:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X100e-screen-brightness-increasing-by-itself/td...
This is caused by Vari-Bright being enabled in the Catalyst Control Center.  With this option enabled, the screen will automatically adjust its brightness depending on what is shown on the screen.  The display brightness is increased when the screen is predominantly white while the display brightness is decreased when the screen is predominantly dark.  An easiest way to see this effect happening is to have two tabs opened in a web browser window.  Set one tab to display a website that is mainly filled with white pixels (such as this Lenovo Forum) and another tab to display a website that is mainly filled with dark pixels (such as http://www.krijtenberg.nl/ ).  Switch between the two, pausing a few seconds in each tab.
    Solution:
Open the Catalyst Control Center and select the PowerPlay option in the Power section.  Uncheck the Vari-Bright option (or adjust the slider) and click Apply.  Verify that the automatic adjustment is no longer occuring by doing the two tab experiment described above.
Function keys for brightness control not working after waking from sleep / hibernation in some instances:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Funtion-keys-for-brightness-not-working/t...
For my X120e, whenever I have it sleeping or hibernating and change the power source (such as initiating sleep when on power and then waking it up while on battery, or vice versa), the function keys for brightness controls do not work.
    Solution:
Restarting the machine will bring back functionality of the brightness control keys...
A way to prevent this from happening in the first place is to wake the X120e in the same power state that the X120e was put to sleep in (wake up from power adapter if slept while connected to power adapter, or wake up from battery if slept while on battery).
All we can do now is wait for Lenovo to come up with a fix on their side of things.
AMD SATA Controller and TRIM for SSD:
The AMD SATA Controller provided by Lenovo does not support passing of TRIM command according to http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/450343-post35.html for SSDs.  The Lenovo provided AMD SATA Controller is 1.2.1.197, before the official TRIM support in 1.2.1.263.  If you're using a HDD, this is of no concern.
    Solution:
In order to have support for passing of TRIM command, one has to update the AMD SATA Controller to any version above 1.2.1.263 ( http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/integrated_win7-64.aspx#3 for Windows 7 64-bit, for example) or uninstall the AMD SATA Controller to revert back to Microsoft's Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller.
Disclaimer:  Since the AMD SATA Controller driver linked is not from Lenovo themselves, I'm sure they won't provide any support if something is to occur so try at your own risk.
As HP79 mentions below, at least according to the update notes, TRIM implementation is implemented for Hudson chipsets as of 1.2.001.263.
Audio Stutter / Slurring occuring during playback of video/audio:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Stuttering-Audio/td-p/389023
This issue can be reproduced (at least on my X120e) by waking the X120e after putting it to sleep.  The symptom is the audio repeating a sound over a span of a second or two during playback and is quite noticable.
    Solution:
uEFI Bios version 1.11 seems to deal with the audio stuttering issue.  So far, results lead to positive outcomes.
    Old Solution:
PWMTR64V.DLL that is loaded at Startup seems to be causing this issue.  Disabling it from launching when starting up seems to cure the Audio Stutter (even after waking up from sleep which was seen to be a pretty reliable way to get the issue to repro).  Start Menu > Launch MSCONFIG from the Search Bar > Select Startup Tab from the System Configuration window > Uncheck Thinkpad Power Manager > Restart.
This does not seem to turn off the power manager application itself so settings in Power Manager can be saved and it seems to still be in effect.  However, opening up Power Manager from the notification / taskbar can cause audio stuttering and mouse movement slowdown while it is launching and/or when applying settings.  This is only temporary and is gone when Power Manager is closed. (Thanks kns7977 for the find)
Pending to see if those who uninstalled Power Manager are able to turn off the offending startup .dll.
Mouse seems to stutter or stay in place for a moment when moving:
This seems to be caused by the same issue causing the Audio Stutter / Slurring.  At least at this time, the cause of the issue and solution seems to be the same.
Emulating Middle Mouse Button with Trackpoint:
One can set up the middle button between the left and right click button for the TrackPoint to act like pressing a middle mouse button on a standard mouse by changing the scrolling type to Smooth instead of the default Standard.
Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Mouse > UltraNav Tab > Setting for TrackPoint > Setting for Choose Scrolling or Magnifying Glass Function > Smooth.
Trackpad's two finger gesture being hit or miss:
The trackpad's two finger scrolling is very hit and miss.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-Touchpad-issues/td-p/393751
Solution: Turning off Gesture Filtering may alleviate the problem.  As mentioned in http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/561751-x120e-owners-thread-24.html#post7323293, it seems that the Gesture Filtering is counteracting any sort of two finger input.
Get to Mouse Properties by Fn + F8, select Manage Settings.  At Mouse Properties, select the UltraNav tab > Settings for TouchPad.  Expand the Smart Check Settings, highlight Gesture Filtering, and uncheck the Enable Gesture Filtering box and Apply.
    Screen flickers lines:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Flickering/td-p/389523
Had this issue occur on me once, but never seen it happen again.  Unsure what caused or cured it.
    Solution:
If the flickering is occuring, a restart is all that is needed to alleviate the problem.  Haven't tested if hibernation fixes it, but neither sleep nor turning off the screen with the Power Manager dealt with the flickering.
3-Cell Battery mentioned as a 40Wh in the Order Page of Lenovo X120e when it is actually rated as 32Wh according to Power Manager:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-3-cell-40Wh-battery-reported-as-32Wh-by-P...
    Yeah...
    Solution:
Accept that it's a 32Wh you will get when selecting 3-Cell or go for the 6-Cell if you want more than 32Wh.
2x2 ABGN Driver from Lenovo triggering Error Code 10:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-ABGN-Driver-issue-in-Windows-7-Pro-x64/td...
The Wireless driver from Lenovo's site seems to not work with the 2x2 ABGN wireless when installed on a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64.
    Solution:
Not really quite a solution, but one can bypass this by either installing the 32-bit Windows 7 and installing the 32-bit driver, or using the factory recovery disc to install 64 bit windows 7 to have it install drivers that work for x64 windows 7.
X120e bluescreens after installing LAN Realtek 7.26.902.2010 drivers from Lenovo's Driver download site.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-bluescreen-when-installing-lan-drivers/td...
The drivers doesn't seem to work and it causes a bluescreen on fresh installed Windows 7 x64.
    Solution:
As Clicq suggests, Realtek's own drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... seems to deal with the issue.
    Screen quality on the X120e:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-poor-LCD-quality-viewing-angles/td-p/3945...
The quality of the screen on an X120e is below expectations.
This is common with low-quality TN panels not helped by glossy displays.  My personal X120e screen likes to bleed certain colors of red.
    Solution (not really):
One can use the Windows 7 built-in color calibration tool to adjust the colors to make it more tolerable.  Adjusting your own viewing angle in relation to the screen might deal with some color issues (hard to figure out what's the correct viewing angle because of TN panel's small range of optimal viewing angles).  Also, changing the refresh rate to 60Hz may deal with some headaches due to the screen (as it did for me).
    HDMI Overscan to HDTV issue:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/HDMI-overscan-to-HDTV-issue-on-x120e/m-p/395335
There is a black border when outputting to HDTV through HDMI.
    Solution:
AMD's CCC by default sets a specific value for overscan / underscan.  One can http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Output-to-TV-via-HDMI-port-black-border-on-the-... while the device is connected via HDMI (the option is hidden if the HDMI port is not used) and adjust the slider to an acceptable value.
Skype asserts after 10-20 seconds of video chat:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Skype-quits-after-10-20-seconds-of-video/...
When doing a video chat, the video feed will freeze and then skype will crash to desktop.
    Solution:
Version 5.3 of Skype seems to be the culprit.  Until Skype itself is fixed, one can use Skype 5.2.60.113 from http://www.filehippo.com/download_skype/changelog/9465/ to bypass this issue.  Just reject any offer to update to 5.3 after installing 5.2, for now.
If there is anything I missed, please respond and I'll update this post with new information.  These are the ones that I have encountered so far with my Lenovo X120e.  Don't get me wrong, I like my X120e... it's just been a "learning" experience lol

  • Return policy in case of traveling

    Hi,
I have bought my new apple in the USA - last week, and I just found out that it has only 4Gig of RAM, and I wanted 8Gig. The issue is that I wont be back in the states before january.
Do you know if there is a derogation to the 14 days return policy in such a case?
    Thanks for the tips!

  • Moving average price and returns to vendor

    Hello gurus,
I’ve got a question concerning material valuation and returns to vendor.
E.g. we have got 200 pieces of a material with a moving average price of 2 $ each.
Now, what happens if I return 100 of those to my vendor who pays 2.10$ each for them?
In my view, there are several possibilities:
    - Nothing happens, the moving average price is not changed at all, value of the goods is 200$ afterwards.
    - New value of the goods is 400$ - (100 * 2.10$) = 190 $. This would mean that the moving average price is 1.90 $.
    - Last delivered price was e.g. 2.20$, more than 100 pieces were delivered, so the new value of the goods is 400$ - (100 * 2.20$) = 180$, new moving average price is 1.80$.
So my question is: What is standard in SAP?
    Thanks
    Jens

This is what my thought is
When you return the material to vendor then system take the same valuation as your MAP
and when you buy new goods then it will count based on the
e.g. existing stock is 100 and value is 1000 means valuation is 10 a peice
in you but another 100 at 1200 then valuation is 2200/200 = 11
When a material is subject to moving average price control, the system calculates values for goods movements in the following way:

  • Authorization Check in SD for Price and Credit,Debit and Returns Block

    Dear Gurus,
    Need your help on this
Whom so ever is creating the sales order should not able to see the price of the product on the header and item of the screen of the Sales order  or Profit Margin
Whom so ever is creating credit, debit, return request should not be able to release billing and delivery block from the sales order  screen of VA01
How can I stop this in authorization . Which authorization object shall I use in this case
    Kindly guide me in this
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna
If nobody should see the price of the product at header and item level then you have to go with a enhancement that price condition type should not be viewed.
For Credit , Debit and Return process , if release to billing is there then go with a output that once the billing is blocked then a output should get triggered and that output should go to the concerned person and he should release to billing. and for delivery block maintain delivery block for the sales document type and keep the delivery block feild in disable mode.so in the same way for billing to release to billing as one output type has to be configured in the same way for delivery block also maintain another output type and once the delivery is blocked some person will release the block to create the delivery document.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Call external URL from ABAP userexit, capture data and return it to SAP?

My apologies if this question has been asked before, but I've searched for a few hours today and haven't found anything directly related to my question.  Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide!
I would like to be able to make a call from an SAP userexit during Sales Order Entry in the VA01 transaction in the SD module to an external website, allow the user to capture some data in the external site and then pass that data back into the userexit where I can use it to populate internal tables, etc.
I'm completely unfamiliar with Web Dynpro programming, but this seems like a good place to start my search for a solution.
Does this sound like a problem that can be solved with Web Dynpro and what documentation or code examples should I reference to go about building such a solution.
I should also note that I'm hoping to build a solution that could be called from any userexit in R/3, SAP ERP, SAP CRM, etc. and would obviously need to learn about what dependencies to consider (ex: SAP GUI version, SAP product release number, Web AS release, etc.).
    Eric

Thank you for the response.  Let me provide some additional information.
The external application will be a Hosted Web page.  It is not an SAP system.
The external application will be a web page served by a separate system outside of the company domain(shouldn't matter what the technology is I would think - but the web page will be hosted by a different company than the one calling the URL) that would appear as a web page in which the user will enter data, logic will be performed on that data and then some or all of the data would need to be passed back to the calling point in SAP.
For practical discussions it doesn't matter to me if the call in ABAP occurs in an SD userexit, in a custom report, in an HR screen or in a CRM business partner screen.  There will be many places where this external application may be called from and I'm just trying to figure out how to call an external HTTPS URL and return data from that web page to the calling point in ABAP.
I hope that clarifies my question.
    Thanks!

  • Verizon return policy

Apparently for Verizon, policy trumps customer satisfaction.  I just found out the hard way that Verizon's retail policy is if you fail to return an item in 2 weeks, you're out of luck.  I bought an $18 case at a store pretty far from me because I happened to be shopping in the vicinity.  Tried to return it to a more local Verizon store and was told I had to return it to the store I bought it from.  But I didn't get there in time.  I pay for 7 freakin' devices each month and they stiff me for $18!!  Next time contract renewal comes up I'll definitely be shopping around.  Make no mistake.

My husband and I are also having a major hassle with the Verizon return policy. My husband is an over-the-road truck driver who only gets home about every three weeks. The last time he was home, we went to the Verizon store and got him a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. We also bought a LifeProof Fre case for the phone which cost $96.06. A few days after the purchases, my husband hit the road with the phone and case. The phone seems to be fine, but the case is a real dud. The case has to be registered in order to take advantage of the Total Water Protection Plan and even after three days of trying (and yeah, I'm a techie gal!) I was never able to complete the registration (a draconian process that requires, among other things, an upload of the receipt and a screenshot off the phone). To top it off, the "Off" button on the side of the case doesn't work well (you have to push it numerous times and hold your mouth just right) and the fingerprint-recognition function is so erratic with the case on the phone that my husband finally just turned it off. It didn't take long to figure out that we wanted to return the crummy LifeProof case and get a refund. Unfortunately, my husband has the case with him on the road and I have the box and the junk that came in it at home in North Carolina. My husband went to a Verizon store in Fargo, North Dakota last night and tried to return the case, but they wouldn't take it without the box. I even offered to mail the box to the store, but they wouldn't accept that as a solution. As I'm writing this, my husband is running around in Fargo this morning trying to find a place to ship the case home to me so I can reunite it with the box and return it to the store where we bought it. We only have a measly 14 days from the date of purchase (which was over a week ago) or we will be stuck holding the bag on an expensive case that isn't worth a toot. My husband is worried about bashing around the country without a case on his phone, so he's planning to go to Target to buy one he can use after he ships the LifeProof case back to me. Unlike Verizon, Target has great customer service, a great return policy that works for real people who lead busy and complicated lives, and any Target store will take back merchandise purchased at any other Target store. While we're pretty much stuck with data and phone plans from Verizon because they have the best coverage in far-flung parts of the nation, we have agreed that we'll never again purchase any retail items like phone accessories from Verizon. I spent hours on the phone with Verizon yesterday trying to get an extension on the time they'll give us to return the LifeProof case, but even after going up the food chain and talking to three different customer service employees, the answer was always,"No, we have a strict policy about returns and we won't do anything to help you." We've come to believe that all Verizon cares about is rigidly enforcing their ridiculous policies (hey, they make more money if their customers can't return merchandise!). After this experience, we certainly don't feel like Verizon cares about customer service and satisfaction.

  • Iphone 4 defected antenna return policy socks

Iphone 4 defected antenna return policy socks they are not fully refund you plus they will make your life miserable try and see..

You have 30 days to return it to an Apple Store for a refund if you bought your i4 from Apple Store or store.apple.com. After 30 days, you can not request a refund. If you bought it from AT&T, Best Buy, etc you have to go back to them for the refund.
    Phone 4 Refunds
If you are not completely satisfied with your iPhone 4, you can return your undamaged iPhone 4 to any _Apple Retail Store_ or the _Apple Online Store_ within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. _If you purchased your iPhone 4 from AT&T, you can also return it to an AT&T store_.
AT&T as well as other stores may not honor the "FREE" refund in place. If not, they would be following their store's policy. 30 days to request a refund and pay the restock fee. Afterwards, the i4 can only be repaired or replaced at Apple Store or cared for at the Carrier whom may submit the i4 to Apple.

  • Target's return policy. Does anyone know about it?

Well I'm planning on returning my iPT to the Apple Store next week bc of multiple stuck pixels. When they replace it I'm thinking of not opening the box and returning it to get a full refund and maybe getting it from Target bc talking to a "Genious" 4 times is QUITE annoying. Does anyone know how Target's return policy is? If I get a faulty screen with dead/stuck pixels for example. Do I just go back to Target and return it and grab a new one?
    Thanks!

    Here is their policy.

I don't know how they handle bad pixels but if you showed them the iPod and said it wasn't what you expected or feel its bad. I'm sure they will take it back.
