Letters in turkish subitles

Hi,
I want to integrate turkish subtitles in my movie (no import). But whenever I use letters like ş or ğ, they will be only shown as a block – can somebody help me? I already looked at google, but I didn't find any solution ...
Thanks!!

For some reason, three Turkish characters are not supported in the CEA-608 specification. ğ, ş, and ı. These characters are handled correctly by captions using the Teletext standard, which is specifically for the PAL broadcasting standard; if you need to work in the NTSC domain, then you'll find that support for the CEA-708 standard, which also supports the full Turkish alphabet, has been added for the forthcoming update.

  • Font looks corrupted with other language letters.

Hi, I've had this problem for a while now, and I can't fix it no matter what I try...
I use 4 types of keyboard layouts: Armenian - Western QWERTY, U.S., Canadian French - CSA, Turkish - QWERTY.
On French or Turkish websites, extended latin characters are often replaced with random Armenian letters, which makes it difficult to read. Here's an example:
    http://img141.imageshack.us/i/textcorrupt1.jpg/
    How can I solve this?

OK I understand, I found the font that was corrupting (Arial AMU) and deleted it, however, now everything is bold (once again, in both Safari and Chrome).
    http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2557/googlefontcorrupt.jpg
I figured it was probably another font causing the problem, so I went and removed every single user-added fonts from the Font folder (and thus, they disappeared from Font Book), and it didn't fix it. I went and reinstalled the Arial AMU font, and it's still bold (however, it didn't corrupt the extended latin fonts like it used to).
    Thanks in advance.

  • Dreamweaver code view problem with Turkish fonts

All my preferences is set to Turkish encoding, but only at the code window Turkish characters aren't displayed right. If i type directly into the code window, everything is ok. but if i write something to design windowi the characters change automatically. i'm attaching a picture to show.
    thanks in advance.

What you see there is not a problem. It's the expected result.
When the Web first started, it supported only unaccented characters. So, to create letters like ö, it was necessary to use HTML entities, which is what you see in Code view.
Nowadays, browsers support Unicode (UTF-8), which doesn't need to convert accented characters.
Go into Preferences (from the Edit menu on Windows, Dreamweaver window on a Mac), and select the New Document category. Set encoding to UTF-8. To change existing pages, use Modify > Page Properties, and select Title/Encoding.
With UTF-8, ö will still be ö in Code view.

  • Bug with TURKISH local

    hi ,
I have dowloaded odp.net and I was looking at samples , but there are some problems guys. These are :
my connection string in sample is
    string constr = "User id=scott;Password=TIGER;Data Source=honest";
"User Id=" doesn't work gives error , but "User id=" works
    and also
    "password=tiger" doesn't work , but "password=TIGER" works.
I think there is some problems with "I" character because in turkish language i and I are different letters.

What is the error message and the call stack of the exception?

  • Missing letters in foreign font

I am making credits and lower thirds in Turkish, using the papyrus font. Most of it worked, but I'm missing a few letters. ( ş and ğ) When I type them, my title defaults to American Typewriter font.
If this is an issue with Papyrus, how do I tell if a font is complete for the Turkish alphabet before I redo things? Do I need a unicode version of the font - and how do I tell if I have one? And where does one find the character map? I have a diagram of the Turkish keyboard that works for everything but those two letters!
    Thanks.

Open Font Book, select your font and set the preview to "Repertoire" from the menu bar. This will show you all available characters.
Set the preview to "Show Font Info" to find the file type and other information, including available languages.

  • Collator and Turkish (probably a bug)

    Hi,
Turkish has 2 unique letters pairs:
    '\u0130' & 'i' ('&#304' & 'i') which correspond to English 'I', & 'i'
    'I', & '\u0130' ('I' & 'ı') which don't exist as letters in English and represent back-vowel pairs of English 'I', & 'i'.
If you didn't get them above, you can check them out at:
    http://www.prustinteractive.com/toolbox/font/
In other words, English I i are both with a dot in Turkish, and the back-vowel versions of them are both dotless.
    My task at hand is:
sort them alphabetically, ignoring case, but naturally capturing the dot difference.
From the API it appears that either:
    langCollator.setStrength(Collator.SECONDARY|Collator.CANONICAL_DECOMPOSITION);
    or
    langCollator.setStrength(Collator.SECONDARY);
    should do the job.
However, all combinations of containing PRIMARY & SECONDARY fail to distinguish between the dotfulls and the dotless. The only thing that gets both of them to compare != 0 is TERTIARY or (a logical | with) Collator.FULL_DECOMPOSITION. But the moment i do that i am no longer able to ignore case.
I did a lot of testing, and am convinced that i'll need to submit a bug, but wanted to get any feedback first. If it is a bug, i'll have to figure out RuleBasedCollator, probably by listing the entire alphabet.
P.S. In fact, letters '' and 'o', for example, don't compare to 0 in Turkish version of Collator even with Collator.PRIMARY, apparently because they are a part of the alphabet, whereas '' and 'a' always compare to 0 even with SECONDARY, which is again a bug even though '' and 'a' are not part of the alphabet.
I'm not really concerned whether PRIMARY or SECONDARY should compare the dotless and the dotfulls != 0, but right now none of them does, if there is a requirement of ignoring case.
    Thanks for any feedback,
    Reshat.

    Hi,
    a correction:
in the message below, in P.S.:
"whereas '' and 'a' always compare to 0 even with SECONDARY, which is again a bug even though '' and 'a' are not part of the alphabet."
    should have been written as:
"but '' and 'a' also != 0 even with PRIMARY, which is again a bug because '' and 'a' are not part of the Turkish alphabet."
Sorry for my mistake in previous message.

  • Imported text from word, all missing fonts found, but still have pink boxes for Turkish language

    Hi,
I placed a document from word. The body font is ITC Garamond. Apparently ITC Garamond doesn't have some Turkish characters. Adobe Garamond however, does. So I was going through and selecting each pink box and changing the character to a new character style I created which is the Adobe Garamond Font. Surely there's an easier way to do this rather than me selecting each pink box? Can GREP do this? I would use the Find Font dialogue, but it shows all fonts as being fine, it doesn't show any missing fonts. So this seems to just be a wierd issue with ITC Garamond not having those special characters.
I know what you're thinking, why not just make my body font Adobe Garamond Pro.... Well I can't right now. Not for this job. Maybe in the future I will, but for not it has to stay ITC Garamond condensed Book.
Also, I should note that in the preflight panel, InDesign does not show the document as having any missing Glyphs either.... so Peter's Glyph script won't work.
    Thanks in advance.

In your case I would not add or change a character style, change your paragraph style. A mix between 2 similar fonts looks terrible. You might need a character style for language purposes, to get through with hyphenation correctly, but this is a different thing.
To change a font globally go to search font and replace and redefine styles.
But if you really does not want to change the font you can crate a character style. And in your paragraph style go to GREP styles and select this chara style and write all glyphs and letters where you need this character style.
Take care, if you use a different font you might have to scale in advanced properties, so that a glyph from the other form fits to the rest of the text.

  • Glitch: Turkish keyboard support

Hello, everyone. There's a glitch in the Turkish keyboard support. I enabled the Turkish language in Settings. All of the Turkish letters work except for the "i" with and without the dot. By holding down "i," I can get both lower-case versions (although the menu shows you opposite from what you get: i gets you ı and ı gets you i). That's fine; I can work around that. However, the uppercase i does NOT give the "i" with the dot. It is not full keyboard support if a letter from the alphabet is missing!
Does anyone know when this serious glitch will be corrected? (It'd also be nice if they fixed the switched lowercase i options, too.)
    Thank you,
    Tanya

Nevermind--I figured it out. Although a number of foreign characters appear when you hold down a letter key, it's not a complete list of options. You need to click on the world icon to the left of the spacebar to change the keyboard during that session. You'll see the spacebar briefly flash with the name of the language you're changing it to.
    Take care,
    Tanya

  • Turkish language support for Touch ?

My father-in-law is returning back to Turkey soon and has been eyeing the Touch/iPhone. I know the iPhone would be a lost cause for him over there, but maybe the Touch could work.
Is there any plans to get Turkish language support on the Touch (other than the hacks I see on usenet which I would rather not try). Tangental to that is there or will there be a iTunes store for Turkey ?
    thanks
    -jeff

Well, the "Turkish" option in the Settings/General/International/Regional Format/ is only for the regional settings.. like the time is displayed without the AM/PM and the calendar shows months/days in Turkish, its limited to time&date at the moment. WE hope that Apple will soon provide some other languages' support to iPhone.
For typing It would be great if the Turkish Qwerty Keyboard and Turkish smart dictionary service could be enabled, but until then you need to keep on pressing longer to the letters and then choosing the character you want and press on the "cancel" button when the iPhone suggests you a different word in "english" when you typed correctly in Turkish. The annoying part with that is when you press the "space" bar it automatically "corrects" the word, thats perfect when you type in English, but with that feature enabled its almost a torture to type in Turkish it automatically makes the word "wrong", i.e. when you type "EK" its offers you "SO" pressing the space makes it "SO" . With a couple of manual corrections it learns most of the words but still not enough. . With more Turks buying the iPhone Apple really should add some Turkish language support to it.

  • Replacement of letters by symbols all over my hardrive

On my hardrive there are symbols instead of letters. Instead of my hardrive being named "Tim's iBook" which is 12 characters, it just has the letter A with a box around it 12 times. This is occuring all over the computer, all of the folders... ect. Another example is when I pull down the home, applications, shared files everything is named a with a box around it. Say the name of the folder is home, which is obviously 4 characters, there will be 4 A's with a box around it. Im not sure if this is a virus or what, but I have never seen anything like it.
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Open the folder /System/Library/TextEncodings/ on your hard disk and look at the contents of this folder; there should be the following items in it on a Mac OS X 10.4 system:
    Arabic Encodings.bundle
    Central European Encodings.bundle
    Chinese Encodings Supplement.bundle
    Chinese Encodings.bundle
    Core Encodings.bundle
    Cyrillic Encodings.bundle
    Greek Encodings.bundle
    Hebrew Encodings.bundle
    Indic Encodings.bundle
    Japanese Encodings.bundle
    Korean Encodings.bundle
    Symbol Encodings.bundle
    Thai Encodings.bundle
    Turkish Encodings.bundle
    Unicode Encodings.bundle
    Western Language Encodings.bundle
If any of these are missing, use Pacifist to extract that bundle from your Mac OS X installation disk, and then run the combo updater for your version of Mac OS X. You may need to connect the computer to another Mac with a FireWire cable and start it up with the T key held down to see the filenames.

  • Dunning costs and Dunning letters

    Hi to All,
Any body can help me out, In this regard.,
In the report of Dunning cost(Sendiing Dunning letters to customers)., Customers are showing but company code was not showing. How can i get the company code for those customers.
And one more thing was customer dunning letter cost also showing differently for Customers(for one customer $ 2 and for other itwas variated to $2.50 likewise).
Where I can see the dunning letter cost per customer.
    Thanks If in advance,
    Dara

    Hi,
Line items should reach minimum number of days, referring to the due date of net payment, to reach a certain dunning level.
In FBMP check you dunning interval. If line item has reached interval maintained for 2rd and 3rd level then items will not be dunned.
Also check dunning levels for your dunning procedure in FBMP.
If you find no problem with dunning settings then, activate additional log for the dunning run to identify exact reason for the problem.
    Thanks!

  • If e-mail is moderately long if I delete a letter or digit the cursor disappears, have to recover it, all deleted letters or digits appear at end of e-mail

If I type a moderately long e-mail (I haven't counted the letters/digits to determine how long), then suddenly letters won't appear. If make a typing errors, and backspace over or delete the error/s, the cursor will disappear. It's not anywhere in the body of the e-mail (or anywhere else I've noticed). I can get it to reappear by highlighting every word in the e-mail, then undoing that.
All the letters/digits I've deleted reappear at the end of the e-mail--but only in the e-mail received (by the recipient). If I save the e-mail as a draft, when I look at the draft, the I'll see the deleted letters/symbols at the end of the e-mail. If I click on edit, they disappear. But recipients see all of them, regardless of whether I edit the e-mail or not.
The last time I asked this "question", I was told to update. That was probably 5 updates ago. There has been no change.
I don't know if the problem persists in safe mode because I have forgotten to switch into safe mode every time I use TB. Sometimes I remember to run TB in safe mode but don't have reason to type a long e-mail.
I'm really tired of this problem.
OS is win 7 pro w/service pack 1.

May I ask why? Have you learned that that specific problem is solved in a pre-release version? So far I've upgraded once on your advice, now I've upgraded again to 31. Problem's still there. Unless I'm told that the problem's been solved for sure in a latter version, I'm not going to upgrade because sometimes the upgrades bring problems w/them for a low tech user. I don't want to chat, etc., I just want to be able to send and receive e-mails.
I'm still working with the security software people re: some continuing issues w/FF.
I'd like to spend more time doing my work, or communicating w/friends, not dealing w/software problems.
Is there anyway of my finding out what, if any update, includes whatever is needed to solve my specific problem? I use Win7 Pro, SP1, 3.40 Gz processor, 3.19 Gb usable RAM, 64 bit OS. I don't know what other information is needed.

  • Turkish WinRAR extracting Photoshop?

I'll try to explain it as clear and concise as I can...
At work, I am having trouble with Adobe Photoshop CS3... (I'll refer to the PC in question as "My PC")
My C-drive generally has about 1 or 1,5gigabytes of free memory
Photoshop CS3 is installed on my E-drive
Recently, I've encountered a problem when I tried to start-up Photoshop, the same way I always do; I doubleclick the icon on my desktop, when all of a sudden some program popped up with a strange language, that had a bar with green and grey in it. After taking a screenshot and clicking the button that appeared to be the Cancel button I restarted my PC and tried again, this time it just started up.
I then tried to find the location where this program was extracting to, but I couldn't find the folder it referred to.
I just copied the text into Google Translate and found it that it was turkish, and at many places to find an answer as to what this was, what it was doing and why it was doing it, but so far, I've not gotten a single answer, and I am quite concerned, since it's filling up my C-drive quickly, and I only have 182mb left by now.
This problem has even cost me an entire day worth of work already, and I am seriously getting frustrated right now, so I hope anyone in here might know what I'm talking about, I've added in a screenshot of the program that started up instead of the Adobe Photoshop CS3 which was supposed to start up.
    I'd like to note 2 things;
    1. The location on the drive to where it's extracting can't be found.
    2. The photoshop icon in the top-left of the program.
so, if anybody has any idea what is going on and how to solve it, please help, because I'm at a loss right now, and it's endangering my work
    yours truly

and how can I remove the temp-files from previous photoshop shutdowns?
Open the file explorer use the organize pull-down and click on Folder and Search options. In the Folder Option window use the View tab and un-check any checked hide boxes and under hidden turn on show hidden files, folders and drive then click OK. Now back in File explorer point to c: Then in the upper right corner click on the search magnifying glass add a filter for a date range and the press the enter key.  Sort the result by size and delete any large temp files found.
Do an other search type something like *RarSFX5* in the search field amd press enter.
