License server selection on every login

Hi Experts,
We have here a Windows Server 2008 R2 for SAP and every time we login in this server,it will require us to indicate the license server. We tried to re-install the client and turnoff all firewalls/anti virus/anti-malware but still we cannot solve this issue.
Any solution guys?
Thank you very much!

Darius Gragasin

Dear Darius,
which User do you use to connection to the Windows Server?
Could you check the Settings of the servicemanager, is he grey out?

    Hi Matthew.......
I guess this problem is associated with domain.....
Please check this file under this path.......
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Open Host file in notepad and register your Server IP with its Name.......
And then restart and try to login........

  • Mac user prompted for password for Mac server shares at every login

I have a client that uses Mac machines.  The server is also Mac server.
The machines are not in a domain/realm, so each machine has its own user database including the server.
The user connects to a share on the server, where she is set up with the same user name and password as on her local Mac for convenience.
When you connect to the share the first time, you are prompted to provide the credentials, and you can select to save this password in Keychain.  We selected YES, remember this password in my Keychain.
However, at every login, she has to provide credentials to connect to the share again.
Any ideas why keychain is not remembering this login so that she can re-connect to the share (it is set as a Login Item) seamlessly?
    Thank you,
    Sandra

Unix shortnames can be viewed/set on the client computers by opening system preferences, going to users & groups, Right-Clicking on a user, and opening the "Advanced Options..." pane.  In the field that says "Account Name:" is the UNIX shortname that the system assigned o that user when their account was originally created.
DO NOT CHANGE THE USER'S SHORTNAME HERE.  All kinds of bad things will happen.  Once it is established (as your original post suggests), you don't want to change it.
What you can do is on your server, in the users & groups sharing preferences, establish server  accounts for your users that have identical shortnames to the ones they already have assigned on their individual macs.

  • License Server error

My client has users access gp on term server B.  SAP server is actually term server A.  After power outage I can access SAP on the server (term server A), but users trying to access SAP on term server B get the "License Server Selection" window.  The window properly shows term server A for the server name.  Clicking ok button here does nothing.  If I click on Cancel button the "Choose Company" window appears with list of SAP databases.  I attempt to select one for login and I once again get the "License Server Selection" window.  I checked and the License Manager is running on the SAP server (term server A).  Help?  why can't I access SAP from term server B?

The easy solution would be restart Server B in your case.  There are always connection issues due to old sessions or connection info after the other server restarted.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • License Server: IP Address for Virtual Server

    Hi everyone,
Our license server is installed at 192.168.1.5 : 30000.  Our internal network is able to access the server.  Some SAP Business One client are located remotely so they must connect to server through VPN in which the VPN service provided us 10.8.17.5 as server address.  If I want to run the SAP B1 from remote, it is asking me the license server selection.  I entered 192.168.1.5 - connection with license server failed.  I also tried the 10.8.17.5, same thing, the error message is - connection with license server failed.  What could be a possible work around for us in the remote site to be able to access the SAP B1 and pass through the License Server Selection window?

  • Login issues in SAP B1 (Connection License Server failure)

After I launch SAP BO and trying login I get the error "Connection with License server failed [Message 60070-15]"
    Please help ASAP

Before I begin, I must appologize for the term ASAP which I thought I edited but did not update.  I actually found a solution on my own when I decided to uninstall and resinstall again from scratch.  In the control Panen when I was begining the Process I thought of selecting repair on the Server Tools, then after that everything went back normal, I am not getting the issue any longer.
    The description of the issue:
I was unable to login to SAP 8.8 due to error u201CConnection to the License server failed" and I tried to use License manger as a starting point of troubleshooting but when click on settings, I get u201C Failed to connect to License Server,u201D I click ok and was trying to import again the License key file but I could not because the button was always disabled and no Hardware key was displayed which was not right.

  • Lync 2010 client promt for credentails to EWS server, ONE time on every login

    Hello
I have a problem with Lync promting user to login to the EWS service.
There is a lot of articles regarding this issue on the forums out there. But all the articles address issues with the autodiscover endless passwords promt and EWS not beeing deployed at all. That is not my case.
If the user types credentials one time for every login to Lync, everything is okay. But this promt should not be shown at all....
The EWS service is deployed, and if i right click on my lync client while holding the CTRL down I can in the configuration information that it is the correct EWS URL.
If i manually browse the EWS URL in Internet Explorer I see the webservice WITHOUT having to enter any credentails (it uses my AD credentials that I'm logged in with)
If Internet Explorer understand to use my AD-Credentials for authentication to the EWS webservice - I can't understand why the Lync client fails to do so???
This error has started after we have added another SIP domain so we now have to SIP-domains. Certificate (wildcart) and aotudiscover is ok.
    Best Regards, Steffen.

    Hi,
We were facing same issue in lync 2013.but prompt was not coming for everyone and every login.
i have noticed few things and corrected it.you may check below points,if it helps.
        1)   Check EWS status in configuration manager. If status is OK or not deployed,   prompt will not come.
        2) If Status is trying to connect or retrying, then need to check for below   configurations.
        • Reset password if it is expiring in few days(mostly prompt come in this case).
        • recheck Credential format in prompt window.
        • Try with automatic configuration in internet connection LAN settings as   some time proxy is preventing Lync from connecting to EWS.
If using proxy , try using automatic settings or exclude EWS and autodiscover url in   proxy server.
        • SMTP Address matches their SIP address or need to make registry.
        • Delete sip folder from machine for EWS cache information.
        • Enter the EWS External/internal URL value into a web browser and check if   it is resolving.

  • Force obiee Reload Server Metadata when every users login

hi, how to force obiee Reload Server Metadata when every users login?
    because I use this method
    [http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/10/29/oracle-bi-ee-101332-presentation-layer-translation/]
    to do the translation.
but I found that if the server metadata is not reloaded. the presentation column names keeps previous one (language).

Not sure about what authentication and web services EBS or Siebel have, but here is what we are doing at the State of Minnesota for PeopleSoft and OBIEE single-signon (no LDAP or SSO server required).
Two web services in PeopleSoft are used for user authentication. One web service simply requires valid PeopleSoft username & password in web service request SOAP header. Second web services determines the username of the PeopleSoft PS_TOKEN cookie (cookie is hashed string which is unique to user’s current PeopleSoft browser session).
BI Presentation Server in configured for single signon to pass PS_TOKEN cookie to BI Server as :USER variable.
Users can also connect directly to BI Server using JDBC or ODBC by providing valid PeopleSoft username & password. JDBC/ODBC tool which sends PeopleSoft credentials to BI Server :USER and :PASSWORD variables.
BI Server initialization blocks execute PL/SQL functions which invoke web services using either the PS_TOKEN cookie from :USER or the PeopleSoft username & password from :USER and :PASSWORD.
A user can login in directly to BI Answers/Dashboards by including a valid PeopleSoft username & password in the nqUser & nqPassword parameters of the Analytics URL. This requires PeopleSoft credentials in URL which poses a security risk. Separate Presentation Server without single signon configuration could be used for direct access.

  • Error getting license. license server communication problem: e_adept_document_type_unknown

I began this day with ADE 17.2 and tried every proffered solution to no avail. The last suggestion was to update to ADE 3.0.
    The exact error message is:
Unable to download. error getting license. license server communication problem: e_adept_document_type_unknown
I have tried completely disabling the firewall (domain, public, private) and the problem persists. I have tried running ADE as system admin with same results.
I've read all the posts on this forum and it appears no one has found a solution.
Please note: I do not have a proxy, currently all firewalls disabled, no anti-virus software used.
Windows 7 SP 1 32 bit home premium
    Firefox 27.0.1
    Shockwave flash 12.0.0.70
Network connection is wifi home network
Content to be downloaded is PDF from Google Play Books
Is there anyone who can offer a solution ....
    UPDATE:
My husband figured out how to disable the firewall on the router and we tested again (and simultaneiously with software firewall disabled). Still didn't work.
I also created a Firewall Rule specifically for this application:

    Name: Adobe Digital Editions 3.0
    [x] Enabled

    UPDATE:
I was reading other posts on similar topics and one of the suggestions was to try OverDrive. Since I already have it, I tried it and received the following error message:
The specified OverDrive media file "[local path]\AppData\Local\Temp\Seams-Unlikely-epub-2.acsm" is not valid. (The OverDrive media file root element is not valid.)
According to OverDrive's help forum that means the ACSM file can ONLY be downloaded with ADE!
    http://help.overdrive.com/article/0644/What-to-do-if-you-get-an-ACSM-The-OverDrive-media-f ile-root-element-is-not-valid-error-when-using-OverDrive-Media-Console-for-Windows-or-Mac
    UPDATE
Have learned we have a WNDR4500 router with built-in firewall which can not be disabled. On the NetGear forums, there was the uninformative suggestion to "use DMZ in the router settings" to disable the firewall. In looking at the settings for our firewall, the nearest screen I could find to resemble that suggestion contained the following:
[ ] Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection
    [ ] Default DMZ Server [192.168.1.0]
[ ] Respond to Ping on Internet Port
    [x] Disable IGMP Proxying
    MTU Size(in bytes) 1500 bytes
    NAT Filtering [x] secured [ ] open
    [ ] Disable SIP ALG
I'm afraid this is beyond the scope of my understanding and have no idea what I should be doing here so have made no changes.

Adobe Digital Editions Communications Error When Downloading PDF from Overdrive (and maybe elsewhere too):
If you get an “error getting license server communication problem” message in Adobe Digital Editions:
    1.  Try downloading any of the PDF files from Adobe here: http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions/eBook.html
    2.  Now re-download the book from Overdrive
    3.  Enjoy!!

  • Server 2012 - Problem with multiple instances of RDS looking to the same license server. Server Pools requiring the wrong servers.

    Hi All,
I have two domains, prod.local and test.local.  On prod.local, I have a license server living on the connection broker.  I have created a two way trust between the domains so that the RDS instance on test.local can use the license server on prod.local.
When I first setup the RDS instance on test.local and point it to use the license server on prod.local everything appears to work, all servers recognize the license server.
However when I log off and back on, and click the RDS dashboard in test.local, the Remote Desktop Services overview states I need to add every server from prod.local to the server pool.  This is bothersome because the Remote Desktop Services on test.local
is still functioning, but I am no longer able to manage it.  When I add the servers from prod.local to the server pool I am displayed the setup for prod.local instead of test.local
Is there a way around this?  Can I use the same RDS license server key multiple times?
tldr: Using a different domain's license server causes my RDS instance in Server Manager to display the wrong RDS farm.

    Hi Nathan,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server forum.
Please check the required ports must be opened on firewall.
    - To issue RDS Per User CALs to users in other domains, there must be a two-way trust between the domains, and the license server must be a member of the Terminal Server License Servers group in those domains.
    - To restrict the issuance of RDS CALs, you can add RDS Host Servers into Terminal Server Computers group on RDS Licensing servers.
    - Configure RDS licensing server on all RDS Host Servers in each domain/forest. You can do it through RDS host configuration snap-in or through a group policy.
    - Add administrators group of each domain/forest in the local administrators of RDS licensing server. This way, you’ll not get a prompt to enter your credentials when you’ll open RDS host configuration snap-ins in trusted domains/forests.

Every time I Try to open a document I get:  Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:  E_STREAM_ERROR:

    ie, what os/what ade version?

  • Why don't my DRM policies seem to work? Using "License Server for Protected Streaming"

Do you find yourself setting rights/restrictions in a DRM policy (like disallow playback on Linux), only to see that the right/restriction isn't being enforced when you play your content?  There may be several reason causing this to happen:
    1. If you are using the "Adobe Access Server for Protected Streaming" that came on your ESD/DVD, this streaming-only server is configured to specifically ignore any policy that was used to package content.  Instead, the server itself overrides the entire packaged policy and instead, reads rights from its tenant configuration XML file (flashaccess-tenant.xml) to generate licenses issued back to the requesting device.
    2. Is your license server configured to use a PolicyUpdateList?  This is a list that can be used to override any old policy (according to its Policy ID) and to use a newly defined policy instead.  This is useful if content was pacakged with a policy and then afterwards, the business rules have changed for the particular policy, warranting an across-the-board change to all content packaged with that particular policy.  Using a PolicyUpdateList is essentially a way to version your older (already used) policies.
    3. is your license server overriding the policy manually in its code?  If you're using the Reference Implementation license server (or building your own server from the SDK), your server has direct access to the policy.  The server can add/remove/change any right in the policy before using it to generate a license for the requesting device.  If you're using the Reference Implementation, by default, it will simply generate a license directly from the policy without any manipulation to it.
    4. Are you sure you re-packaged your content using the new policy where you made your changes?  On your license server, since you have access to the policy (it's sent up to the license server as part of the license request), the license server can log the policy ID of the policy.  Check your logs to verify the new policy is actually being used.
    5. Are you sure you're playing back the newly-packaged content?  Caches may be stale.
    cheers,
    /Eric.

Not possible with a POP account.
The email account sync process with iTunes syncs (or transfers) email account setup information for select accounts only from your computer to the iPhone. This does not not involve messages.
The reason the account's Inbox mailbox seemed to sync is because received messages with a POP account are the only server stored messages and if not removed from the server when downloaded by one email client can be downloaded from the server by another - in this case the iPhone.
If you want Sent messages kept synchronized between your computer's email client and the iPhone's email client, you MUST use an IMAP account for this purpose.

  • Problem with License server

    Hi All,
I am facing problem with license server. We have installed SAP Business One , Did License import, Installed patch 15 and than again DTW and every thing. Now when I want to connect through DTW, it gives error messege : connection to license server failed . Any help on it will be highly appriciated. Thanks,
    Sabita

    Hi Sabita,
Is it just the DTW that fails (ie can you log in to the SBO client)?
In newer versions of the DTW, the License Server setting in the log in screen needs to have both the server name (or IP address) and port number. For example:
    MYSERVER:30000
where MYSERVER is the name of the server where the license service is installed and 30000 is the port number it is running under (30000 is the default).
    Kind Regards,
    Owen
