Lightroom upload to Adobe Revel no longer supported?!? Future of Lightroom and Revel?!?

Hi,
currently I'm Pro-User of Adobe Revel and I upload all photos with Adobe Lightroom 4 to my Revel account.
I googled a little bit around because I'm not able to upload videos via Lightroom and i found this link:
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1162795.
On this page it is said that Adobe will not continue plugin support for Lightroom and Revel.
Could somebody (or anybody - sorry for my english) tell me more about the future of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Revel?!? Would be great and helpful....
Thanks in advance
Stephan

Stephan hi
yes, there is no way to use the revel plugin from LR anymore.
i am also finding this very strange as both are adobe products & no integration anymore?
i use LR as a database for all my images
and was exporting to revel, only the ones that i need to share
this is very frustrating and unexpected from adobe
maybe they will come up with a new revel plugin
but no official word from adobe yet
i have been exploring various options for sharing like smugmug, flickr etc
but have more faith in adobe, as i have been a LR and photoshop user for many years
just started using revel on free trial account, certainly wont take their PRO service without the LR/REVEL integration
i also feel that revel has been around for couple+ of years
but they lack many basic features, compared to others like smugmug
i understand a new service/app takes time to develop, but by now, they should have nailed it
for eg: if i webshare an album with a friend, he can download the individual 50 pictures one by one
there is no option to download the entire album in one go, very frustrating and very basic feature
seems like this is a hobby project for adobe and they aint investing much into this service
though their annual subscription charges are at par with others like smugmug and probably more than some others
the revel forum is also not very active from adobe's side
they should realise that people like you & me, and many others explore first and then finalise a service for good and stick to it
what if i go towards smugmug and upload all, i wont be changing back to revel, as its a lot of hassel organizing and re-uploading again
if anyone listening/monitoring these threads on adobe forum
please reply

Please give a bit more system details. Which OS and version are you on? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit. Try downloading the Creative Cloud App if not already installed from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud. You can choose to install PS from withing this app and need not rely on web page.

  • CS3 Can Not Be Reinstalled....Adobe says no longer supported...

Today I went to start Adobe Illustrator and I got a message that "Licensing has stopped working"...The message said I needed to reinstall programs.....I started to and got a message about "deactivating"....I phoned adobe and was told to ignore that message, uninstall programs and re-install them....I made several attempts to re-install them and kept getting messages that re-install failed....I made my 2nd phone call to Adobe only to be told my product was no longer supported.....So I have reading through the Adobe forums and I am only getting crankier.....Any tips would be appreciated....
PS...I am thinking this has something to do with Flex Licensing system but I have no clue have to edit the registry so i can re-install....
PPS....I have probably made it a worse mess by trying to manually un-install without really know all the bits and pieces to delete....

BEFORE SPENDING HOURS OF YOUR LIFE REINSTALLING:
Check this link in the Adobe Knowledge Base first!
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb401528
Had to go through all of the solutions until the first part of Solution 4 where it tells the user to move the cache.db file.
After moving this file I tried running photoshop CS3 and instead of the dreaded "licensing has stopped working for this product" message it asked me to enter the serial number again. After that I activated and it worked! ! !
I highly suggest testing these fast solutions before uninstalling and using the clean script.

  • Firefox no longer supports your operating version and will be vulnerable to online attacks

    Hey Firefox,
Long time user, first time writer. Lately, apropos of nothing, I've been getting a pop up stating:
    "URGENT!
Firefox no longer supports your operating system version and will be vulnerable to online attacks.
    <a>Learn More</a>"
And that doesn't sound like you guys. I'm using Mac OS 10.5. All my updates have been downloaded, the opening screen of this site tells me I'm up to date. Is this some kind of trick? I also have a screen shot of the occurrence, though not the url.
    Please help. Thanks guys,
    jen

Long time user and frustrated by this... is the solution to stop using Firefox? Because I certainly can't afford to go buy a new Mac just because I'm not eligible for newer operating system upgrades. My Mac isn't even that old... Suggestions?

  • Adobe no longer supporting Content Provider

Hi, I'm really interested in creating ebooks and selling them by using Adobe Content Server but I find that Adobe is no longer supporting the program. What are the repercussions of thisdecision? To me it says that Adobe is no longer interested in DRM and the ebook market. I thought I'd found the perfect solution for making ebooks pay.
As I understand it LiveCycle is a replacement but this seems to be aimed at the internal passing of documents in large corporations rather than selling comercial ebooks.
Can anybody let me know what the thinking is on this as searching the adobe site is like wading through a treacle of out of date and irrelevant information.
    Many thanks, in anticipation.

I see also about Fileopen: solution for DRM is more cheap than ACS but files are not so secure as the secured with Content Server (after the release of Adobe Reader 6), the plugin-handler gets the option to "crack" the distributed eBooks by means of the old version (please remember problems of Vladimir Skylarov in the popular case Adobe vs Skylarov) Advanced eBook Processor by ElcomSoft (new versions are limited and can't remove security in fileopen generated files). I think that Adobe must take a policy to sell the new LiveCycle Policy Server at a special price to previous registered users of ACS (we take the risks and search for people putting their contents with us). I think: the new LiveCycle Policy Server requires rewriting apps (a real cost) plus buying a software near to US$ 40.000. So included people who loves Adobe (I'm inside) and PDF format can take some peace of mind and follow with a very risky job, in current time, as distributing eBooks instead of take some low budget bussiness with higher level of revenues.
In our case we are working hard in a big project to put many eBooks for free, but requiring DRM and avoiding redistribution of files, trying to recover some of cultural inheritance of Latinamerica in serious and high quality digital editions but our budget is small.
Parhaps we must take another way... ¿As you?

  • HT1338 Microsoft Office Mac taken off my computer because no longer support by Apple?

My software for Office mac 2004 is no longer on my latop as it is no longer supported? I dont understand, Now I do not have any software?

Let me see if I can make a few educated guesses and save you some time:
You had Office 2004 running on your MacBook but recently upgraded to Lion (or Mountain Lion).  When you attempt to run any component of Office 2004, you get a Dialog Box that PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Your best and easiest solution (although maybe not the cheapest) is to upgrade to Office 2011 and everything should work fine again!
    Two factual corrections:
    1. Apple extensively publicized the fact that Lion would no longer include Rosetta.  The problem is that the everyday normal PowerPC app Mac user had no idea what Rosetta was, that they were using it nor what its absence in Lion would mean for their everyday life!
    2.  Apple's license to use the underlying technology of Rosetta expired with the release of Lion (and now Mt. Lion).  The third party company that licensed this technology to Apple back in 2005/2006, was acquired by IBM, who still champions the PowerPC platform.
It is doubtful that IBM would have re-licensed this technology to Apple at any reasonable price...  Apple's "feelings" had nothing to do with it.

  • Outlook for Mac no longer supported????

can anyone confirm that mountain lion no longer supports sync with Outlook and you can't sync Outlook with icloud?  This is what I am being told by support but seems too rediculous for words?

Thanks mende1 but as advised by apple support I have just finished erasing my hard drive and in 6 hrs (so it says) I will be back to lion no one has been able to tell me how I can sync outlook to my iPhone 5 even though I am only using apple everything except for office although it is office Mac 2011.  If you have the way to do it please let me know

hello, this is a google issue. on [https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1347815 their support site] they say that all current versions of firefox are supported but apparently something has gone wrong in there browser sniffing which will have to be corrected on their server side...

  • Is a 10GB "Clickwheel" iPod still supported by iTunes 8+ and OS X 10.4+

I have a 10GB clickwheel iPod that I've been trying to update just to use for some simple mp3 spoken word files and a handful of songs. Not trying to load entire iTunes library on it. Is the clickwheel not compatible with 10.4.11? I've used disk utility to erase and reformat my iPod, used iTunes to restore several times, and unchecked almost all my music just to see if I can get a handful of files to update onto my iPod. I don't care that it's not sleek and brand new, but I certainly hope I can use it still for basic stuff. I'm wondering if it's no longer supported by iTunes 8+ and OS X 10.4+. Does anyone know for sure and can provide an answer? If it should be supported, does anyone have any other suggestions? It seems like it tries to update, but after I see the message that 6 of 100 or 11 of 100 songs have been copied, it just locks up and that is it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Doug,
Your iPod should work with no issues on 10.4.11 and iTunes 8+.
When the iPod "locks up" do you hear any clicking noises? Your symptoms sound like the hard drive is having hardware issues.
Here's a trick I used to use to fix the older iPods. It involves opening up the iPod, so if you don't feel comfortable, you might want to go to someone who does.
Take a blade from a box cutter and gently move it along where the plastic meets the metal on the iPod. Use the blade to pry open the iPod from the metal case for the back.
Once you get the iPod out, look towards the bottom of the iPod, and you should see the hard drive with a wide cable attached to it. Take that cable out of the hard drive (gently). Find a Bic pen cap (or something similar) and push it in between the two rows of pins on the cable. Try to make sure the pins are spread apart evenly and all pointing directly out. Once you get that in place, firmly push the cable back into the hard drive and gently put the iPod back together.
You may then want to restore just to be safe, and try loading your music again. I've used this trick on many old iPods to bring another couple of years of life into them. (sometimes this cable comes loose, causing the issues you're describing)

  • Adobe Revel is no longer uploading photos

Adobe Revel appears to be stuck uploading photographs from Photoshop Elements to the cloud. Photographs taken on mobile devices are downloading onto the Mac, but nothing is going the other way. The dialogue box states "Updating 303 changes ..." and has been stuck like this for several days. I have the latest version of Photoshop Elements and have tried switching the Revel service off and on, as well as signing in and out of the account. Any suggestions please?
    Thanks

  • Why has Adobe Revel stopped my free upload of 50 photos per month

Some time ago Photoshop transferred my photos to Adobe Revel and I was allowed to upload 50 photos a month with no charge.  Suddenly this month after uploading 38 photos about two weeks ago, I can not upload any more.  I get a message that I have used 4.2 GB of storage but am only allowed 2 GB.  Clearly I have been over the 2 GB limit many months ago, but was still allowed the 50 photos free upload each month.  What has changed?  Or is there a malfunction of their system?

Hey there, you may have heard that Adobe is continuing to sell and support CS6 for customers who prefer traditional licensing.  It's last year's version instead of the latest-and-greatest CC release, but it's something to consider if that's important to you.
As far as a "senior discount" on Adobe software, there has never been one – but one thing to consider is becoming a student or teacher because there is no age restriction on that, in which case you may become eligible for education discounts.
    Hope this helps.

  • What do I do to make Elements Organizer 13 upload pictures to Adobe Revel?

I can't sign in to Adobe Revel to sync my photos. When I try to sign it it says there is a error contacting the server. I can open my web browser and go to Revel account and view the pictures I have already uploaded  so I know my password is not the problem. I am running Windows 7 with 64 bit system on a HP computor

    Hi Brian
A DVI-A connector supports analogue signals only, a DVI-D connector supports digital signals only and a DVI-I connector supports both analogue and digital signals. Most graphic cards seem to have DVI-I connectors so they're compatible with both analogue and digital displays, even if a DVI-VGA adaptor is required.
A Radeon 8500 should be ideal as it works in a X2 AGP slot and has OS 9 and OS X suppport. You'd connect your existing CRT monitor to the VGA connector (I assume it's VGA) and your new LCD to the DVI connector, which would work whether the LCD is analogue or digital (most are digital like the Dell and Apple LCDs).
The Radeon 9000 is a newer but mainstream card, where as the 8500 was high end of release. Consequently it isn't any more powerful than the 8500 and has an ADC connector which your PowerMac doesn't support anyway.
The Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition wouldn't work as it requires a X4 or X8 AGP slot.
That just leaves the Radeon 9800 which would work but like you say it's more expensive and requires an internal power connection. I believe it also lacks full OS 9 support although extensions are provided so the computer will at least boot and recognise the card. You also need a fairly powerful main processor to take full advantage of it.
However, the Radeon 8500 would give you Quartz Extreme support but not Core Image support, whereas the 9800 supports both.
    I hope this helps.

  • Adobe Revel Support For webDVD and Videos

    Could I get clarification on
As of today October 7, 2013....
    a. Videos. I read somewhere that currently only .mov files are supported by Adobe Revel. Is that true? If so, please
define .mov since that is just as wrapper format that can come with a variety of video and audio compressons. Are
we talking H.264.mov or something else? If applicable, what other video formats are supported by Adobe Revel?
    b. webDVD. It is my recollection that photoshop.com supported the upload and viewing of the webDVD. If my
recollection is correct, what is Adobe Revel's support for the Premiere Elements created webDVD?
    Thanks for the information requested.

  • I recently uploaded 10.8, but I have a number of VALUABLE old files which I can no longer read because "power PC applications are no longer supported.  How can I retrieve them?

I recently uploaded 10.8, but I have a number of VALUABLE old files which I can no longer read because "power PC applications are no longer supported.  How can I retrieve them"?

Here is a post I assembled for another with a similar problem:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3. Upgrade to an Intel compatible versions of your software, or find alternatives that will open your data files;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.
