hi!
how limit speed - for windows update?
WSA hardware.
i find: Set action for 5 applications of type: Software Updates
but not avialable - speed limit, use global setting...
Software Updates Set default action for application type: Software Updates
(in section: Edit Overall Bandwidth Limit - not work, )...
client use full Bandwidth

Unfortunately, WSA unable to perform bandwidth limit for software updates since WSA is a proxy device and not a QoS device.
At the moment the only bandwidth limit functionality available in WSA is only limiting Media category or application and also Facebook application (if AVC engine is enable)

    When I apply the command I'm seeing a gauge using a 3rd party but I'm not seeing that the traffic will be truncated @ 50Mbps.

    Bandwidth commands allocates the particular amount of bandwidth you mention or configure over there.
    Basically you have the liberty to configure upto 75% of the available interface bandwidth to different classes.
    most widelys used with CBWFQ technique..
    so while configuring up the same better to watch out for the exact bandwidth value keyed in on the interface to have your alloocation work properly.
    policing basically used for limiting the traffic or to control the bursts by dropping them or marking them with different ip precedence or DSCP values.
    its very much similar to the rate-limit command applied on the interface level which again uses token bucket system either single or dual based on the configuration parameters.

    If you're looking to limit bandwidth FROM your server, you can use an ingress policy on the server's interface and police selectively.  For example, if your specific VM has its own IP address, you could police inbound (from the server) traffic matching that IP.

  • ASR9000/XR - QoS - Limit overall amount of bandwidth per IP

    We have a few thousand broadband customers in our network with various speed packages.  The highest speed package of 500Mbps. 
    I'm trying to create an ingress QoS policy that I can apply on my interface facing my upstream providers that will limit put a bandwidth cap PER IP ADDRESS of 500Mbps.  
    I don't want to limit the overall interface to 500Mbps.
    Goal of this is to protect my links deeper in my network from getting over run in the event of a DDoS attack.
    Now I know this is not going to protect or mitigate any DDoS attack (like the vDDoS solution with the VSM and Arbor Networks), as budgets are not allowing me to go down that road at this time.
    Any ideas on how a QoS policy would look like?
    I can limit the overall interface, but struggling with how to limit an interface on a PER IP basis because i want to utilize as much of the 10GE port as possible (under normal conditions). 
    Simple diagram below.

  • Bandwidth Management(Rate Limit) Using QoS Policies

    Hello,
    I need some advice. We have an ASA 5525 running version 8.6(1)2 and a 10 MG pipe. I have execs that want to limit bandwidth on users for stuff like youtube, stream media, and downloads. I found the article on ‘Bandwidth Management(Rate Limit) Using QoS Policies’ so it appears our firewall can do what we want. I’m not a cisco person. My knowledge is limited when it comes to configuration – that’s why we have SmartNet :). The advice I need is what to ask for, so to speak, when I put a case in. Can bandwidth be limited on end users and/or can they limit the ‘bandwidth rate limit’ to just youtube, steaming media, and downloads? If so, what should the limit be? and I’m assume this would be for ‘incoming’ traffic only? we’re running into some bandwidth hogs – usually youtube and/or streaming media. We have a Barracuda web filter which we’ve used to block and monitor activity but I simply do not have time to babysit this all day. I should also mention we do have critical data running up and down the pipe; such as credit card processing, DB replication between in house DB and hosted website, TPCx and EDI, FTP, and such that we don’t want restricted.

    That's a question that you as the network admin of that organization could answer.
    How much traffic for business purposes must travel via HTTP/HTTPS?
    How much bandwith are you willing to provide to this 2 protocols?
    Those are the kind of answers you need to answer before setting the number

  • QoS bandwidth rate limit don't work

    Buy a router RV120W, and one of the reasons is limit of bandwidth (QoS). I set up a profile of 1-256 kbps limit, and apply it to the only VLAN that is configured, but does not work and can navigate using the full bandwidth of the internet connection. My firmware version is 1.0.2.6

    Struggling with a similar issue:
    the setup: internet adsl <--1mbs--> combined router/modem <--100mbs--> RV 120W
    Internet speed is 1mbs. I want to priotize voip calls (via port) and deprioritize one machine (doing downloads). rest of the network should have something in between.
    Firmware upgraded to 1.0.3.10
    I created the profiles bindings, then in QoS settings, selected Priority, Wan total bandwidth 1mbs, and distributed my profiles onto low/med/high (10/31/61).
    When what should be low is downloading, it gets the whole 1mbs and the other are dead slow.
    Changed to rate limit, changed the parameters, etc... no more luck.
    Can you please shed some light as how to configure this - in my case, the whole bw of wan is being used, and prioriization is not happening,

    How would depend very much on the QoS features of the device.  Even 6500 QoS features depend on line cards.
    Most, but not all, Cisco switches support 4 egress queue which you can provide different bandwidth allocations.  Such allocations usually provide a minimum, but more bandwidth might be used if its otherwise not being used.
    For example, you might define four queues that one is a priority queue for real-time traffic; one is a foreground queue with a large bandwidth allocation (not that such traffic should be bandwidth intensive, but to insure high priority for dequeuing; one is a background queue with minimum bandwidth allocation (often where you might want to direct FTP); and the last is a middle allocation for everything else, i.e. your default.
    Also on switches, traffic is often placed into a particular egress queue based on L2 CoS or L3 ToS.  So, what this means, you'll want to mark your FTP traffic differently than your other traffic, perhaps with CoS 1 or DSCP CS1 or AF1x.
    Cisco has some great guides on how to configure QoS for their different platforms although their 11 class model is often overly complex.

  • SGE2000 QoS: Ingress Rate Limit BUG ?

    I buyed a new unit of SGE2000. Thirst I changed firmware to newest one (3.0.0.18) so I do not know what firmware was installed before.
    The problem is that it is not posssible to change Ingress Rate Limit to value lower than 3500...

    Default value for Ingress Rate Limit field is 3500, while I change it to eg. 512 the combobox is opening with warning information:
    "Entered value in highlighted field must be an Integer. Range 3500...1000000"
    "Committed Information Rate (CIR)" field allow to put a value down to 64, so it is ok.
    Should I downgrade firmware to v3.0.0.17 ?
    Any help appreciated.

    My appologies for the lack of reply here.  I checked with the PM for the product and they asked me if there is a case open with the Small Business Support Center (SBSC) on this issue.  Have you had a case open on this yet?  If not can I ask you to log a case and then respond back to this postig with the case number please?  It seems this is a bug so the product team will need to process the fix for this via the standard problem identification/case reporting process.

    I want to impliment per spoke QOS using isakmp profiles and service policy.
    My problem is that I have more than 64 tunnels and I understand that service policy configurations are limited to one level of nesting and only 64 classifications.
    Does anyone have experience of per spoke QOS greater than 64 flows?

  • Is there any rate-limit or qos hardset in the OfficeExtend AP600?

    Only getting 9-10MB of throughput on the Cisco OfficeExtend AP600's. I have a 25mb pipe, and when I use another router, and even a Linksys I'm able to get 25MB downloads. Let me also clarify that I'm using the personal / local SSID of the OfficeExtend, and not the corporate SSID.
    Is there a way to change or remove any rate-limiting that has been hard coded into these OfficeExtend AP600 routers?

    I remember seeing 2.x limitations on guest VM sizes in the 2.x docs but do not specifically remember reading about limits for a given 2.x VM host nor sets of hosts...
    That being said I have 2 in Production & 3 in Testing & really hope to go to Prod soon with version 3 as it seems much better overall. I did not like 3.0.x versions but I like 3.2.1 (haven't tried the newly released 3.2.2 yet).

  • How Can I limit the bandwith of my internet connection on linux?

    Hello, I have 2 Pc's, one for my brother, and the other for me. And well, always we have problems about downloads and lags when we are playing.
    For example, when I download packages from pacman, it is done at maximum speed "eating" all connection, and my brother has lag.
    Is there anyway to limit the bandwith that use my programs to half, for example? If maximum download speed is 100KB/s, pacman only can download 50 KB/s maximum.

  • QoS / Native VLAN Issue - Please HELP! :)

    I've purchased 10 Cisco Aironet 2600 AP’s (AIR-SAP2602I-E-K9 standalone rather than controller based).
     I’ve configured the WAP’s (or the first WAP I’m going to configure and then pull the configuration from and push to the others) with 2 SSID’s. One providing access to our DATA VLAN (1000 – which I’ve set as native on the WAP) and one providing access to guest VLAN (1234). I’ve configured the connecting DELL switchport as a trunk and set the native VLAN to 1000 (DATA) and allowed trunk traffic for VLAN’s 1000 and 1234. Everything works fine, when connecting to the DATA SSID you get a DATA IP and when you connect to the GUEST SSID you lease a GUEST IP.
    The problem starts when I create a QoS policy on the WAP (for Lync traffic DSCP 40 / CS5) and try to attach it to my VLAN’s. It won’t let me attach the policy to VLAN 1000 as it’s the native VLAN. If I change VLAN 1000 on the WAP to NOT be the native VLAN I can attach the policies however wireless clients can no longer attach to either SSID properly as they fail to lease an IP address and instead get a 169.x.x.x address.
    I'm sure I'm missing something basic here so please forgive my ignorance.
    This is driving me insane!

    Thank you (again) for your assistance.
    So I' ve done as instructed and reconfigured the WAP. I've added an additional VLAN (1200 our VOIP VLAN) and made this the native VLAN - so 1000 and 1234 are now tagged. I've configure the BVI interface with a VOIP IP address for management and can connect quite happily. I've configured the connecting Dell switchport as a trunk and to allow trunk vlans 1000 (my DATA SSID), 1200(native) and 1234 (MY GUEST SSID). I'm now back to the issue where when a wireless client attempts to connect to either of my SSID's (Guest or DATA) they are not getting a IP address / cannot connect.
    Any ideas guys? Forgive my ignorance - this is a learning curve and one i'm enjoying.

  • Limit access to guest network

    In reading previous postings on limiting guest wifi access time on the AirPort Extreme, it sounds like you have to identify certain devices. my kids' devices only have access to the guest network. I was curious as to why the capability doesn't exist to limit the network availability period vs blocking specific devices. For instances, if my tween daughter has friends sleeping over, I don't want to just limit her access after a certain time, I'd like to limit all the kids' access By switching off the guest wifi.
    any help is greatly appreciated!

    Apple did not provide the ability to do it.. you can turn off wireless manually but there is no other ability.. Apple routers are minimalist as many Apple designs are.. they do not provide more than absolute basic usage for stable family with no body cheating or ill using the network.. hence no firewall, no QoS, no logs, no snmp in new models. in fact as time goes on.. Apple is continuing to remove functionality rather than add it. That is their design philosophy.. if that doesn't work for you buy a wireless router with controls.. !! Most decent routers now have excellent controls, time limits and multiple guests.. check out the Asus line. eg AC68U.
    Or use a cheap router with gargoyle firmware.. you can keep the AE as a wireless AP.. it is about as good as it gets.
