Limiting direct changes in production

Hi i would like to ask you guys, on how to limit direct changes in production..
if im using scc4 to say no changes, automatically the system prevent any changes to system.
we still want to be able to change these objects : query ,infopackage and processchain ,
anyone have done such things ?

1 In the admin tool File->save as/ copy as option or
-->This can do but I've seen there is little bit slowness at user end to for response,once file is saved then it would be normal
2 From the path oraclebi/server/repository.
-->You can go with both cases during the service is off or on,I've seen no issues so far; most proffered one is offline.
I prefer 2nd option.

    As per best practices, any configuration change should go through transport process and all master data changes should be done directly in production.
    Some examples of changes that can be done directly are.
    1. Exchange rates
    2. Sets used in validation/substitution (GS01/GS02)
    3. All condition records
    4. Customer/vendor/GL/Asset/cost center/cost element master data
    5. Tax percentages
    There are many more follows... Tell us your exact requirement. Then we can guide you better.

  • BCS - master data change in productive system?

    Hi group,
    We are about to go live with our BCS system, but of course someone got the great idea of changing the company code currency for one of the "non-SAP" companies in the group since the sytem was set up.
    When I enter the consolidatin workbench in our production system, everything is considered customizing, so no changes are allowed - even to master data. I''ve searched the "Object changeability" settings of the BW system but couldn't find any settings regarding BCS. I also checked settings in se06 and found a namespace "/FINB/" which I suspect has something to do with BCS (currently set to "Not modifiable")?
    What are the correct system settings for the BCS system to function correctly, and what is the normal procedure for maintaining master data in SEM-BCS? - by transport requests or by changing directly in the productive system?

    P.S.: Are there any usefull resources for BCS on the Internet? The help in the system is very limited and I can't find anything on the SAP marketplace.

    Hi Dan,
    Example: you have a single selection containing a set (not range) of separate values. Then you decided to change the set (adding one more value, for example). Are you saying that this single selection change in DEV will be reflected automatically in PROD? 
    From my experience I know that while using single selections, the system replaces it by the set/range/node. And when a single selection was changed, nothing yet happened with elimination settings using SS. You have to go into each part of the settings in the method and refresh the SS. You'll see that only after that the set of values was changed. It's obvious for me that if I don't do this refreshing in DEV and then import the request into PROD, I'll have the old, not modified, version of my settings.

    one is there is a report i have to do some modification in PROD,for this have to do in DEV,QA,PROD Respectively , here whether i have to use old request to new one , is this is the right practice or not,
    second in  transfer rules there is a conversion routine , i have to do some modification , How can i do like once again DEV,QA,PROD

    Hi,
    Normally we dont have any authorization for changing the objects directly in production.
    You need to make the required changes in Dev and then move to Quality and then to Production. Hence you need to create a new requrest for all the changes you made in Dev and move to Quality and then to Production.

  • How track changes in production order which is already Read PP master data

    Hi Gurus,
    Due to some unavoidable reason my client has to do Read PP master data time and again, now my client having a requirement that want to see what has been changes in Production Order.
    We already created 1 report for that which tracks whatever has been changed in Production Order but having a constraint in it.  That It could not be able to distinguish to which order READ PP MASTER DATA done.
    So my query is how to map that in report. As sytem Status directly changed to CRTD phase.
    Any table which can track the changes once the order been through with READ PP MASTER DATA?
    As there are huge number of Production Order so we can go and open each order to see the Status changes in each and every order.

    A suggestion:
    Change the specification as, log changes at each save instead of Read PP Master Data, as the changes would become effective only upon save. So if this is acceptable then 2 options, 1. Go with OCM feature or 2. Refer note - 390635
    Revert if you face any issues.

  • Mass change on production order (assembly type) to put deletion flag status

    Dear all,
    I've make a mass change on production orders to settle the status DLFL through the Tcode CO78.
    Some of the production orders  are "assembly order" type. Those could not be up-dated with the DLFL because there are linked to customer order. The customers orders are closed.
    What can I do to change the status for this kind of production orders. It is necessary for me to be able to put the DLFL status in order to improve the process of production closure done each month.

    Thanks for the response. As I cannot put deletion indicator on the Assembly order directly, Do we have to put deletion indicator on the sales order item?. If so, Can we put a deletion indicator after the sales order was delivered and invoiced. What exactly have you guys done to put deletion flag on the production order.

    The requirement is the Index value maintenance directly in a Production system (closed system for the configuration) through the Authorizacion Management.

    First, thanks for your quick response. I haven´t got to solve the problem with these notes. I would like to explain in further detail the issue and the current system configuration.
    The configuration for the Client (T000) is the following:
    Client Role: T (Test) or P (Production)
    Changes and Transport for Client-Specific objects: No Changes Allowed
    Cross-Client Objects changes: 3-No Changes to Repository and Cross-Client Customizing objects
    The configuration for the object VC_REAJINDX (SOBJ) is the following:
    Category: CUST
    Transport: 2-Automatic Transport
    Adjustment: Automatically adjustable
    Current Settings: Marked
    With this configuration at client level and for this object, it is not possible to maintain the Index values in the target client. Then my question (doubt) is if it´s possible to maintain the index values in despite of this configuration by Authorization management (User roles/Profile Generator) for this object (Example: Give authorization to modify this object (in order to maintain the values) to a Key User with a specific role, SU01). Or if it´s not possible, then It´s necessary to change the configuration for the object (VC_REAJINDX) for the fields, Category, or/and Transport,... For this option, it´s necessary to modify the SAP standard using a Developer key and I´m not sure if it is a recommended solution.
    But my client wants to maintain the index values directly from PRD system and not from a DEV system and after transport the updates to PRD.
    On the other hand, the error message that the system shows it isn´t the message number TK430, It is the message nº SV052, No maintenance authorization for requested data (Diagnosis: You have attempted, in change mode, to access data for which you have no authorization.). This is the reason I think, maybe, it is possible to control it through the Authorization management.

But if i allow, they directly customizing the data in production server.Now my question is How i allow the users to uploading the data not for changes in production server by using scc4 tode.

  • EDI change in production possible?

    Hi I need a help to understand the proceedure involved when we upgrade our b2b (webmethods), what changes required to be done at SAP and how, when and EDI is involved.
    For e.g output types uses EDI to send some files to webmethods. Since new version is used, what needs to be changed? I guess i need to create a new port and replace the old one. How do i do it?
    Secondly do i have to do this directly in the production server of SAP or do it in the dev server and then transport.
    Any help here would be appreciated. This is my first work on EDI tech.

    1. Ideally your mappings don't change even if you have upgraded your middleware, so from a process perspective nothing should affect.
    2. You might have to change the port settings in WE21 / RFC Destination SM59 to point to the new middleware.
    Usually these port settings can be done on production server or it can be transported as well. Transporting is a better practice as you don't want to give change access on production box.
    However, the practices change from company to company.

  • Assembly to order: change in sales order with change in Production order

    I want to activate change in the sales order data when a production order(which is created w.r.t the sales order) data is changed (Strategy 82 used); I have de-activated "No Update" for the corresponding requirement class 201; also the material for which SO created ,is not a part of any Delivery group.
    But when I am changing the production order (date/qty.), SO isn't getting updated accoringly.
    Please tell me the reason why it isn't happening!!

    The sales order requirement can be made as the production order receipt once you save the order in the system.
    so it is possible to change the receipt according to the sales order reqmt if any changes made in the sales order,
    in every entry or changes in the sales order ( if you use the stategy 82) . in back end system explode the BOM and the create the production order as per the order reqmt,
    even while you do the changes mad in the sales and save that time sytem re explode the BOM once again and change the production order qty.
    but if you change the production order , system not re run or explode the BOM , Routing . such setting is not made in the system . so obviously updation will not happen for the sales order .

  • BADI for changing the product cost

    My requirement is to change the product cost when the costing engine is running via ck11n or ck40n. Iam looking for user exits and BADI's for this requirement.
    I did look into the BADI DATA_EXTENSION_CK but this particular BADI does not have export or changing parameters. Can anyone suggest any user exit or BADI's for this requirement. I also looked into other BADI's like

  • CO-PA Realignment: Changes in Product Hierarchy

    Hello all,
    We have changed the product hierarchy on some of our materials and we want to realign the PA data to reflect the same.
    Our product hierarchy which we have three levels is maintained in KES1. There are no derivation rules. KES1 is updated manually everytime any changes occur.
    For example:
    OLD
    Product: 1-189-01
    Hierarchy 1: 100
    Hierarchy 2:A7300
    Hierarchy3: B56220
    So on the material master the prod hierarchy is 100A7300B56220
    NEW
    Product: 1-189-01
    Hierarchy 1: 125
    Hierarchy 2:A7500
    Hierarchy3: B56120
    I tried using KEND for realignment and this does not change anything. Any help, how to proceed with the realignment is appreciated.

  • IDoc creation on save and change of production order

    I am looking for a way to create, and send if possible (if not I'll send with a batch job), on the save (creation and change) of production orders.  This will be a modified LOIPRO iDoc.  Currently we have a customer exit on the save of the production order but because it is before the save we must predict the number of the prod order.  This has worked but now we are creating one production order per line item in a sales order (automatically) so this is causing us to predict the same production order number twice.  We need a way to automatically create and send an iDoc for all production orders for given plants.  Right now the solution we are looking at is creating an output type and running through those output types a few times a day, sending them down to the Shop Floor system (proprietary system). 
    Is there anything setup in SAP that we can utilize?

  • Vendor name is deleted after the approver changes the product category.

    We have implemented workflow WS14000044(Completion by Purchaser) and
    WS14500015(Item-Based Main WF).
    At workflow WS14500015 level, when the approver changes the product
    category, the vendor name is deleted.The previous validation allows the
    PO creation , But the PO is created without vendor.
    Furthermore under transaction process purchase orders 'BBP_POC' the
    purchaser can not access in change mode to the vendor field in order to
    add a vendor.
    How can we give access in change mode to the vendor field for purchaser in transaction 'BBP_POC' ?
