Link BP to Organizational Unit.

Hi CRM Gurus:
I have a problem, I need to link a BP with Organizational Unit. The situation is that the BP is already exist but this BP was not created as Organization Unit in the PPM_CRM transaction. So we need to create an organization unit and then assigned this to the BP.
Does anybody have an idea how to resolve this problem...
Thx.

You're correct... The situation is that we have already the BP's, but now we need these bps will be organizational units. We tried to extend these bps as organizational units and then assign them in the organizational structure. But we could not extend, so we tried to make organizational unit and then link with bps.
If it is not possible we should use an Z table where we can link the BP with another BP(which should have been created in the PPOMA_CRM). So we will have got 2 BP's... It's something we don't like and also it will be so difficult to maintained.
We tried to use de BP transaction for extending the BP, but role BUP004 is not available. Only when you create the org. unit from de PPOMA_CRM.
I hope to give you more info. about the situation..
Thanks a lot.

The workflow process is associated to the transaction you select by parameters in the function call.
The Responsibility 9e.g. employee self service) is linked to a menu. The menu contains (amongst other things) functions. If the function is associated to a menu prompt, then when the user clicks on the prompt (e.g. Change Job) the function is invoked. When the function is invoked, it calls the workflow described in the function call.
The function will already (out of the box) point to a workflow process. If you have customised your own process, you will need to amend the function call to call your workflow name.
Look at the function in question and you will see what I mean.
    Hope that helps explain it!

  • How to link organizational unit to org. Object type ?

    Hello,
i want to link an organizational unit to the object type T024L, Does anyone know how i can do this ?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
You need to create assignment between Org object type and org unit. Use txn <b>PFOM - Create Assignments</b> for the same.
You can then try the std rule 30100012 also.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to link Organization Units and Entities in Oracle Designer 9i 9.0.2.8 ?

    Hi,
I am working with Oracle Designer in a project where we need to asses the Business Process Model of the customer, mapping it in Oracle Designer.
The Customer wants to see the relationship between Business Entity and Organization Units and Processes.
    We are following this approach:
    - define Entity
    - define Organization Unit
    - draw process models with Oracle Designer Process Modeler, defining the single process steps and indicating the Organization Unit who performs that activity;
    - draw a Data Flow Diagram for each Entity with Oracle Designer Data Flow Diagrammer, including the business function we have defined as process steps within the Process Modeler.
Process Modeler allows us to link process steps to Organization Units, while Data Flow Diagrammer links Entity to business functions ( which are equal to our process steps). So we expect that for the "transitive properties" Organization Units should be linked automatically to Entity.
At the end, using Oracle Designer Matrix Diagrammer we only see the relationship between Business Functions and Entity and not the one between Organization Unit and Entity .
In fact, if we open Object Repository Navigator and check the property "Business Unit Entity Usage" of the Business Unit, there is no evidence of the entity related to the business function performed by the Organization/Business Unit.
Could someone helps us to understand how to use correctly the Oracle Designer Tools ?
We look forward to hearing from you.

I would recommend the 10g version anyday over the previous versions. If you use any of the other supporting apps (forms, reports, portal....) your already at a much better release :)
Is there a reason you would want to use the prior version?

  • Organizational unit transfers ,how to deal with the person in it ?

    Hi,All,I need your help!
if an organizational unit has been transfered to another upper organizational unit ,and there are already persons assigned to different positions of it,so how to deal with this problem?are those person's IT 0000,0001should be changed too?and how to maintain this kind of change?is a personnel action necessary?or there is some other more efficient way for it?

    Hi
In IT0001 You have a Position which is linked to a Org unit. If you want to change the org units reporting relationship then you have to change it in OM by creating a new relationship with the upper org unit.
All the person are assigned to position so nothing needs to be done in  PA.
    Reward points if useful.

    Hey Shaurya,
I had gone thru tht link and already got answer as -
"This addition specifies which selection screen is called. dynnr is a data object that must contain the screen number of a selection screen defined in the called program when the SUBMIT statement is called.
u2022     If the addition USING SELECTION-SCREEN is omitted or the screen number 1000 is entered, the standard selection screen is called. If no standard selection screen is defined in the called program, no selection screen is called.
u2022     If a screen number that is not 1000 is entered in the addition USING SELECTION-SCREEN, the corresponding independent selection screen is called. If no selection screen with this screen number is defined in the called program, this leads to an untreatable exception."

  • How to Configure Overview of Organizational Units iView in MSS 5.0/6.0

    Hi all,
Does anyone have any idea on how to configure the "Overview of Organizational Units" iView in MSS to work with the HR backend?
When I click on the Organizational Unit in the iView, it does not link me to a new page and no Organizational Unit overview pops out.
Any form of help or hints is deeply appreciated.
    Many many thanks in advance.

    Hi Leong Ko,
In order for this to work, first and foremost your userid has to be linked to some "manager" employee of your choice in infotype 105, subtype 0001.
Secondly, the position that this "manager" employee is holding has to be assigned to one organisational unit (technically relationship A003, but you can do this from transaction PPOME).
Thirdly, the position in question has to be marked as "chief position" (in technical terms relationship A012-manages between the position and the org. unit to which it belongs). This can also be done from transaction PPOME.
If the organisational unit to which the position belongs has, in turn, subordinate org. units, these will also be shown in the Iview.
Of course you will have to be logged on to the portal with your userid (the one that you assigned to the employee in infotype 105) for this to work. It will not work if you are just testing the Iview without being logged on.
    Hope it helps.

    Hi Markus,
In CRM goto tcode - SPRO - Customer Relationship Management - Master Data - Organizational Management - Assignment of Organizational Units from SAP ECC - Assign SAP CRM Sales Offices to SAP ECC Sales Offices & Assign SAP CRM Sales Groups to SAP ECC Sales Groups - To maintain Sales Office and Sales Groups.
Then goto tcode PPOMA_CRM and configure the organization model as per your requirements.
Check the below link for further explanations about Sales Area Data.

  • Organizational Unit Synchronization & User Movement  with Active Direct

    Hi All,
Can anybody put some light on (Organizational Unit Synchronization) or can ref some doc links.
    Anticipating Help from you folks.
    Thanks
    Randhir Singh

I'm assuming you want to synchronize Active Directory with either another LDAP directory or another repoisitory such as a relational database or a flat file.
If you just want to export or import objects from Active Directory using an industry standard interchange format, you may want to investigate the use of LDAP Data Interchange Format (LDIF). The tool included with Active Directory to import and export LDIF files is called LDIFDE.EXE
You may want to investigate directory synchronization products such as Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager. (refer to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/ida-identity-lifecycle-management.aspx)

  • Organizational Unit in DC directory

If you are maintaining the Organizational Unit (OU) information in DC directory, does this information replicate over with CCM database? If so, does it map to "department" field in CCM or any other field? CCM version in this case is 4.1.3.

getUser (as well as addUser/updateUser) actually accesses the DC directory.
Direct ldap access is also possible though. There's just one consideration when choosing the technology: with CCM 5.0 and above there's no DC directory anymore so (although then you can send a sql request via AXL which is more efficient than getting users via AXL though).
So I guess unless you need seamless upgrade (only changing the URL and http to https) when upgrading CCMs, you're better off using ldap.
Keep in mind though, you will need a link between phones and users to make this work.. or if you use extension mobility, you need to look up the user device profiles associated with each user then look up the lines on those profiles (using an sql query via axl.. this translates almost 1:1 to versions 5.0+) to get the line numbers.

0    Do not carry out structure checks
1    Business partner exists for root org.

8    All partners (level 3) has (at least) org.unit + bidder role
9    All level 4 nodes are positions
    <b>Purpose of this report</b>
This report converts the HR organizational model for external business partners (bidders, vendors, and their employees).
You have to run this report after an upgrade from BBP 2.0C, EBP 3.0, EBP 3.5, EBP 4.0 and SRM Server 5.0 for every root organizational unit of these external business partners (if you have several such root unit, you have to run the report several times).
This report does not run across clients, so you have to start it separately in every client that you have.
The conversion is required because, in the new HR organizational model, external objects can no longer be stored as object 'O' (=organizational unit); consequently, it is no longer possible to create positions for external objects.
This has the following effects for external business partners who are stored in the organizational model:
The old root object, the 'Central Organizational Unit for Vendors' will in future not be an organizational unit, but rather an organizational object of the type 'VG' (=vendor group)
The interim nodes that were created for reasons of system performance (each containing 100 vendors/bidders) will in future not be an organizational unit, but rather an organizational object of the type 'VG' (=vendor group)
The external business partners of the type Organization (bidders, vendors) are no longer represented by a separate organizational object (in other words, there is no longer an organizational object that has the identity relationship to the partner)
Since the org. object that previously represented the partners is missing, the business partners are now linked directly with the interim nodes (previously, the organizational unit for the partner, and not the partner itself, was linked)
If a business partner has a set of attributes that is different to the attribute values specified for the interim node, the partner in question is not linked directly to the interim node, but rather to another 'VG' object (which has the attributes of the partner), which in turn is linked to the interim node.
Previously, if an external business partner had an employee and this employee has a user in the system, the employee staffed the position in the organizational unit that represented the partner. However, since this organizational unit no longer exists, the position and the staffing relationship no longer exist either. This means, among other things, that there is no reporting option in HR that enables you to navigate from a user to the business partner of the user's company.
Since there is currently no way of directly assigning a user to a business partner (of the type Person), the organizational object 'CP' (=Central Person) is still used to establish this link.
Once the conversion report has run successfully, you will no longer be able to see the organizational structure of the external business partners by calling transaction PPOSA_BBP (or PPOMA_BBP).
However, a new transaction called PPOMV_BBP is available instead. You can use this transaction to display the converted (and newly generated) structure for bidders/vendors.
    Prerequisites
Before you actually convert your organizational structure, you should let the report check the structure, and correct any errors that the report detects.
    Features
The report has the following features:
A 'Check Only' mode is available, which you can use to check the consistency of the organizational structure of the external business partners at different levels
The report can be restarted. This means if the conversion is canceled due to errors or system problems, and you restart the report, it will recognize any new objects that have already been generated, thus ensuring that structure elements that have already been processed are not converted a second time (this is achieved by evaluating at runtime the log tables BBP_O_TO_VG_OBJ (for generated objects) and BBP_O_TO_VG_REL (for generated relationships)).
If you use table BBP_MARKETP_INFO to store the root organizational units, the report changes the old entries accordingly.
The report writes an application log (log object BBP_XPRA_O_TO_VG) in which messages are logged at two different levels; alternatively, you can request that the message be output directly ('WRITE', for background spool lists).
Although we do not recommend that you do this (because it can result in very long response times), you can run the report in parallel and thus convert several root organizational units at the same time.
    Activities
Start the report for every 'Central Organizational Unit for Vendors' (root organizational units for external business partners) in every client that you use.
    Annotations
We recommend that you do not use the 'Direct Message Output' option (that is, the option where an application log is not written) in conjunction with the 'Detailed Message Output' option for larger organizational structures, because every object and relationship that is generated will be output, and you will not feasibly be able to process this list.
Even if you use it in conjunction with the writing of an application log, the 'Detailed Message Output' option rarely makes sense if you have tens or hundreds of thousands of vendors/bidders.
    Estimated work/expenditure necessary
The runtime for this report depends on the hardware, system load, and structure involved (for example, the number of vendors/bidders who have employees and users and, therefore, also positions, the number of vendors who have attributes different than those of the interim node, and so on).
As a rule of thumb, though, structures with vendors where 10% of users have their own individual attributes are processed at the rate of approximately 25,000 per hour.
Remember, however, that the time required depends to a large degree on the number of nodes where local attributes have been defined, and on the number of business partners who have users.
This can lead to situations where an organizational structure with 100,000 nodes but no local attributes or users can be converted more quickly that a structure with only 5,000 nodes but with local attributes and assigned users.
    Hope this will help.

  • View of organizational unit in Service request

    Hi everyone,
In our service request, we are trying to visualise all the organizational unit (of the organization model) of a BP.
We achieve to see the direct service group where the BP is assigned but we are trying to see more of the link to the organizational model.
For example : our organizational model looks like this:
For user AJAUSSAUD1, I can see the direct link to PSE Equiment in my service request (this is determined in the partner schema determination)
However, we would like to be able to see MC1 (here 3 level above) in the service request.
We are using service organization as function and all the organizational unit are determined as service organization as we are using it to authorizations access.
Does anyone know if there is a way to see the link with all the organizational unit of a user in a service request?
Would it be with the attribute available in the ppoma-crm, but how to add the field and make them available in the service request view?
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Anaïs

    Hello Anais,
As far as I know, there is no standard way to view an organizational hierarchy in a service request. You will need to do some developments. There are two options -
    1. If you want the 3 org levels to be stored in data base table for future reference and reporting
You can add 3 fields in ORGMAN sub object using AET. This will add the fields to table CRMD_ORGMAN. After org determination has happened in your service request, you can use BAdi - CRM_ORGMAN_BADI, methd - CRM_ORGMAN_MERGE to fill values of these 3 org levels. You have to recursively use functions or query table HRP1001 to get the parent of determined service org and then its parent and so on.
Remember once these 3 fields are added at database level, they are available for all transaction types of one order. These fields can be made available to BW queues also at time of adding them.
    2. If you do not want the 3 org levels to be stored in data base table
This would mean you only want these fields for display to end user.
Add 3 model nodes in the web ui component. In the getter method of 1st field, add select query or call function to get parent of determined service org. Similarly for other 2 fields.
Hope this will help. Maybe you also get some different suggestion from other guys.
    Regards,
    Niraj
