Link question - setTarget("_SELF") ?

I'm facing some problems with the com.sapportals.htmlb.Link object. Eventhough I write setTarget("_SELF"), the link opens up in a new browser. Below you see the source code ... where is the mistake?

Well, I solved the problem ... the .setTarget("") method is case sensitive and therefore I should write
myLink.setTarget("_self");
instead of
myLink.setTarget("_SELF");

Safari broken image link question mark in a blue box icon

The url I get the safari broken image link question mark in a blue box icon most often is "apple.com/startpage/". There may be 10 or 12 of them. However, most apple.com pages have at least 1. In fact I am looking at 1 right now. I have emptied the cache. I do not wish to reset Safari because I do not want to reenter all of the passwords to various sites. Is there a simple answer?

Who is your ISP and what addresses do you have set in the DNS section of your System Preferences -> Network preferences?
Have you tried logging into a different user account on your machine to see if that has the same problem? This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> [+] to create a test one (and [-] to remove it if needed)
Also, do you use any third party internet software (Norton, Intego, etc.)?

Error 501; iTunes store shows no images-only underlined links/question mark

When I open iTunes store, the images show only as boxes with question marks and the text shows as an underlined blue link. When I click on anything I get a Error 501 message. My iTunes library and connection with iPod are unaffected.
I have tried to uninstall iTunes and Quicktime. I have tried uninstalling everything related to Apple/iTunes (including Bonjour) and reinstalling Quicktime by itself (was successful). Everytime I reinstall iTunes, the store appears the same way and is inaccessible. Please help!!

I have the same problem with our system. I contacted the Apple Help Department and they tried to help me via email (same fixes, uninstall, reinstall - same problem), but the problem persists. I can't preview the songs either and would like Apple to step up and help us all out!

32 bit vs. 64bit download link question

My daughter just bought a prepaid CC student and teacher license for her studies. She bought it thru thinkedu.com and it is the $199.00/12 month subscription. Her computer runs windows 8 pro 64 bit OS. The download link says 32 bit. I want to help her install it this weekend and have not clicked on the link yet to install.
Two questions. 1) Will the 32 bit link be a problem in getting the best possible performance out of her computer (hardware aside)? 2) does the subscription begin when activation begins or is the meter running right now?

InDesign CS6 folio builder/links question. For iPad app.

Hi there. I am a graphic designer who is very experienced in InDesign using the software for print purposes. I am now branching out with the capacities CS6 has and am learning to design (mainly presentation) apps for the iPad. So, I've designed a portfolio as a multiple page document with both portrait and landscape page orientations. The app would consist of a starter page which would be a load of animation exported as swf, and imported back into InDesign as HTML5, or MP4, or however (I haven't nailed this yet as I'm leaving this till last as this page will serve as a screen saver until swiped). When the viewer swipes page 1 they will enter into the main 'contents' page with a load of thumbnails of clients I have and within those clients a load of case studies. So, I've roughly designed the layout and will need to build but I need to know what I'm limited by.
Page 1 title page,
page 2 contents (with scrollable bar with links to other pages)
page 3 will be the 1st client and will need approx 6 case studies, which I presume I'll need to make extra pages. And so on.
Anyhow, I digress – the question I ask is that to upload and test on the iPad through content viewer I obviously need to upload the articles as separate pages (incorporating both H & V orientations) but would I make the links from my 'contents' page when the document was a multiple page document (ie in it's original state) or would I apply these links (as buttons I presume rather than hyperlinks) when the articles have been separated and I'm working with page 01, 02, 03 etc in folio builder?. I know how how to create buttons from thumbnails but I can't work out how to link them to their desired targets (next page/page no/ etc etc) for the record I want to present my work on an iPad as an app, without relying on WIFI or 3G. Last question (phew) Is I have a picture frame with a slideshow in - is it possible for the viewer to click these and open them in full screen mode and flick/navigate through that way? then click via a cross in the top corner back to the screen they were on. both parameters are strings or string variables. you're using a variable (which shouldn't be in quotes).

Actionscrip Linking Question

For example, right now my links (in Flash 5) have the
following actionscript (an example):

I know the "_blank" part opens a separate window. I know that
replacing this with "_self" takes you from the current page to a
new one (w/o opening a new window). The problem with this is when I
press the back button on the browser, I'm taken back to my home
page, and not the page with the links. Is there something I'm
missing?

You could tell the flash movie where to start with a variable
sent via get in the url, but there is no way to return to a scene
in a flash movie by pressing the back button (it'll start from the
begining).

Create View from Database Links - Question

Question
I'm missing something simple.
I'm trying to create a view, from a Database Link.
CREATE VIEW view_name
AS SELECT a.*
FROM schema.tablename@dblink a;
When I run this in the SQL Commands window.
I get this error message.
ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
What am I missing? Any help is appreciated...

1) User (schema) which is creating view must have proper db_link to source database. For that try this for testing purpose:
select 1 from [email protected] 
If this fail then db_link is not ok! This step is absolute must to go any further step to!!!
 
2) when db_link is set, then your view should be named as:
CREATE VIEW vw_name
AS SELECT *
FROM schema_name.[email protected]; 
please pay attention to "schema_name", because from remote side every table is in some schema so it really need declaration of owner schema.

KM Search and External Link Question

Q1: I have created a Meta Data Properties for a Folder, so any document Created in this folder will require these data to be entered, I want to put a Filter Option on the this folder Iview where user can filter data on the basis on Meta data Property or Search document based on Multiple Meta Data Property using TREX or any other search.
Q2. If I create a External link to a document in KM folder, will TREX search in that document.

Hi Jagraj,
Q1: You have to define the Meta Property as Indexable than you can use TREX for searching for documents with the specific value of this property. Of cause you can as well filter the documents when displaying the content of the folder. In this case you have to implement a resource list filter.
Q2: TREX is able to index links as well.
The question is it you really mean External Links for referencing documents in KM folders because normaly you do this by an internal link. A external link in most cases is a reference outside the portal. Nevertheless see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/73/66c090acf611d5993700508b6b8b11/frameset.htm so you can see you can define a parameter indexContentOfExternalLink and you can define a parameter IndexInternalLinks. In this case the index will contain as well the content of the links.

Linking Questions cs5: Linking within the Same file, Sharing links, file size bloat

I have to make print cards for my job. Print cards being a 1 page version of the Larger package layout that the place I work manufactures. On this print card is a section for customer info on top, and the print representation on the bottom. What I've been doing is using two files. The first file is the full-scale art on one artboard, and the customer info on the second artboard, but both within one file.
On the second file, I combine the two. I still use two artboard because it's a front and back print-off. The front page (1st art board, 2nd file), is the customer info at the top (linked from the 2 art board, 1st file) and the full art shrunk to fit below (also linked). the back page (2nd art board, 2nd file) is the individual elements of the artwork, zoomed in for easier viewing. For the second page, I use masked links from the fullsize art, sized appropriately. The reason it's important that they all use links, is so if I update the art, it will update the print cards as well.
I've been trying to stream-line this process. This works ok, but the numerous links bloat the file size, and I have to email these to customers. I've started using "Flatten Transparency" on all my Print cards (2nd file) and saving it as a separate .pdf. This cuts out the links, but then all of my masked images are hiding the whole original file behind their mask. So then I started manually cropping each individual masked area, which helps, but once I've gone through this whole process, I don't think I've saved any of the time my template was supposed to save.

My questions are these:
Is there any way to link to elements within the same file? Like from a different artboard?
I've successfully 'Placed' an artboard from the same file, back into that file (but a different artboard), but this creates a never-ending Save/Update loop. I'd like a better way to do this.
Is there a way to have all instances of a linked file, draw from the same place? i.e. When you update a single link, all instances of that Link would update. plus this would, in theory, cut down on the file size.
Is there any way to automatically have every masked link crop itself after using the flatten transparency command?
Even if I had to select them first. I haven't had any luck selecting them all and then using the pathfinder crop tool. I've had to do each one individually.
I know this last one can't really be answered without seeing everything on my machine. I don't even know what info I'd need to give...

There's a few things you can do to make your files smaller, such as using the Action "Delete All Unused Panel Items" which will removed all unused Symbols, Graphic Styles, Brushes and Swatches from your Illustrator files. Those little items add up to bloating a file.
You also need to examine the images that you place into your Illustrator file. Any unnecessary layers or channels? Can the files be flattened before being placed in Illustrator? You can always keep a "working" Photoshop file of all that extra goobledeegook and then flatten the file and do a "Save As" and place that in the Illustrator file. And that could be a Photoshop EPS saved with a TIFF Preview and JPEG Encoding (Maximum Quality), which will save some MBs.
But, you should never sacrifice file size for quality. If these files are going to print, you should be using an FTP program to transfer the files and not email them. Email should not be used for files over 5 MB. If all you want to do is send the customer a Low Resolution PDF Proof for approval via Email, that's fine and dandy, but send the final large size files to the Printer via FTP.

Spry link Question

If your question is your main menu item is PORTFOLIO and you do not want it linked to another URL then use the default notation as follows:

VO Link question

I define two view object one is master and other one is detail (relationship defined using VO Link). I've to define a parameter in detail VO query, in start with clause:

Link Question

I have to switch class handouts I prepared with FrameMaker 7.1 for paper distribution to a pdf that can be used in laboratory classes on a computer network. I want to include links that will open in new windows to display figures or diagrams. I think I can do this in a pdf, but since this document gets periodically revised I want to create the links in FrameMaker, so I don’t have to redo all the links each time I release a new version. After a lot of searching and experimenting it seems that I can only do this if the links are fm documents; then they will convert when I create the pdf. To do this I would use Special->Hypertext->Open Document as New, and enter the path to the linked file.
Is this correct? I have a problem and a question. First, when I do that I get an error message saying: ‘D:‡ISSECTION MANUAL\CURRENT\VERSION\GLUTEUS MAXIMUS SURFACE LABELED.fm’ was not found. Make sure the file exists and is a FrameMaker Document.’ The file does exist, and is in the same folder as the main document. There is no double dagger symbol in the actual path, however. It should read “D:\DISSECTION...”
Am I doing something wrong?
Secondly, when I convert this to a pdf will I also have to convert each figure to a pdf?

Actually, in a strange way, you instructed Fm to use the double dagger...
Your marker got parsed when converting to PDF as D : \D I S S (etc)
I didn't check, but I'm willing to bet that \D represents the double dagger.
Change your marker to D:\\DISSECTION so that the \\ is parsed as a \ character and you should be fine.
BTW, the same thing will happen if you use the \ character in a variable, and thus when defining paths in variables, you'll use the same \\ convention for the \ character.

Database Link question ! Please help me ....

I have some question about database link.
For example, I have 3 database, database 1 and database 2 connect together by database link db_link1, database 2 and database 3 connect together by database link db_link2.
I want to ask: Can I connect from database 1 to database 3 ? ( Of course don't use database link between database 1 and 3, just use database db_link1 and db_link2 )
Both db_link1 and db_link2 are public database link.
Can I restrict user access by 2 these public database link ?

A database link has directionality-- it connects from one database to another database. It is not a bi-directional link.
Assuming db_link1 exists in database 1 and connects to database 2 and db_link2 exists in database 2 and connects to database 3, it should be possible to read data that is in database 3 from database 1 without creating a new database link. But you'd need some sort of intermediate layer in database 2 (i.e. a view in database 2 that queries an object in database 3) because you can't nest database links in a single SQL statement. Of course, you would almost never actually do this for a variety of reasons. The only time I've ever heard of someone using this sort of setup is if database 1 is a very recent version of Oracle and database 3 is a very very old version of Oracle such that a database link between 1 and 3 is not possible.
If you create a public database link, you cannot restrict access to that link short of potentially doing something with VPD. If you're creating a database link using a fixed username & password that would create a security issue, it would make far more sense to create private database links.
