Linking between projects
Is there any way I can move one completed project to put with another one? I am currently using imovie 4!
Also just bought ilife 6 so I can burn using and external dvd drive but causing problems on my emac so have gone back to the projects on my powerbook using 4 again, luckily I use an external hard drive for all imovie stuff!!! Will I be able to move to 6 when complete so i can burn a dvd?

Quit iMovie. In the Finder, duplicate the iMovie project folder and all its contents. You can now open the copy in iMovie and import the additional footage.

Just drag the reference movie (the small .mov file inside the project folder) to iDVD (version 4, 5 or 6).

Link between Project and Sales Order
Apart from sales order can we have a link between project and customer master ??
I know that WBS element assignment can be made in sales order but i want to have link between
customer master and project. I don't want any user field or text field in sales order.

As far as iam concern there is no link between Project & Customer Master, you have to link it with SALES order, I had check in XD03,XD01, the complete customer master, i didnt find any field in customer master which links with Project.
I'll let you know if i find any links.

File not found in Link Between Projects Window - test no edit rights to other file
Hi,
I am doing a test to see if i can create a link by typing the link path (f.i. <>\plan2\1) in the predecessor column without having edit rights to the other plan.
I expect this to be possible as the edit in the other plan (creation of link) is only done after the change is accepted through the LBP (link between projects) window. Besides, when i do it to both my own plans, in this LBP window i get 'create external
link' as difference to accept.
When I do it on Project Server 2010 to a plan I do not own or having edit rights on, I got the message 'file not found'.
Is this message related to what I am trying or does it have another cause?
Does someone know if what I want can be done?

I confirm that for creating a link between projects, you need to have access in read-write to both files.
Indeed creating such a link will write in both files information about successors (in the source file) and predecessors (in the destination file).
Note that if you only need to update the successor, you don't need anymore to open in read-write mode the source file, since you won't write any more information in it.

Whats the best known way to create a report on links between projects. I want to provide the PMO of my customer with a report, where they can see:
1. Delivery dates
2. whether changes are accepted
3. Who is delivering to whom

Are you using the
deliverables/dependencies feature? In case you are, I'd suggest you to use the following tables from the Reporting DB:
[dbo.MSP_WssDeliverable]
[dbo.MSP_WssDeliverableToProjectLinks_UserView]
[dbo.MSP_WssDeliverableToTaskLinks_UserView]
You'll find in the 2 last tables the relation between the delivrables. The delivery date will be found in the first table.

RoboHelp5: Linking between project and subproject
I have a master project and four subprojects They all exist
in a flat directory; that is, the master project folder and all
subproject folders are on the same directory level. I can merge the
projects fine but when I try to add a hyperlink from a topic in the
master project to a topic in one of the subprojects, the link
disappears when I compile the master project.
I searched adobe for the answer and found a page that
describes "Linking Between Merged WebHelp Projects", however the
instructions suggest putting the subproject folders within the
master project directory. I keep a set of test projects available
just to practice things on without breaking my actual work and
tried this out. I couldn't create merged projects using this method
at all. The merged project link would appear in the TOC but when I
complied the master project and viewed the results. the merged
projects didn't appear.
Any ideas on how I can merge projects *and* create hyperlinks
between the master and subprojects? Thanks.Just to clarify, I've got my test project organized as
follows (as per information from Peter Grainge's site):
Master: This is the top-level master project. The single
folder contains only one topic which is named "null" and I deleted
all text including the title from that topic. The TOC of this
project starts out as containing no information.
Child: This folder is at the same level of the directory as
the Master folder and contains the directories for each of the
subprojects.
Subproject1
Subproject2
Subproject3
All three of these subprojects are located inside the Child
folder so that all of my actual project content exist on the same
directory level.
From here, I go to the master project in the Null topic and
on Null's TOC, I create the Merged Project links to the three
subprojects. So far, everything works swimmingly. Then I try to
create a link between a topic in Subproject1 and Subproject3.
The link seems to be created correctly, but I do get a
warning message stating that it may not endure when the project
files are moved. When I look at the page with the link in preview
mode, the link exists and works.
I compile the three subprojects and recreate the merge links
to the subprojects in the master project, the recompile the master.
I click "view result" and navigate to the page that is supposed to
contain the link and (alas) the link is just plain text.
That's where I am so far. Still going to work through the
material on Peter's site to see if I missed something.
EDIT: I can see the subprojects in the master just fine,
Colum. But when I try to create a hyperlink on one topic in one
subproject to a topic in another subproject, when all the projects
are compiled, the hyperlink itself is broken. Does that
clarify? -
Linking between projects in CaptivatePlayer
I'm investigating using Captivate Player to group together
several projects.
The first project I want to set up as a menu that links out
to the others, and at the end of each project I want to include
buttons that allow the user to continue with the next one (link to
subsequent project) or go back to the menu (link to first project).
I've tried different combinations of making my links open in
new, current, parent window, etc. but no matter what I do, the
Captivate Player is lost when using those links (even though the
projects load and run in their own html wrapper).

Linking between projects in merged WebHelp
I have a merged WebHelp (created using RoboHelp 10) that has several child projects. I now need to have the same topic in two child projects and I want to prevent duplicate maintenance.
I tried making the topic a snippet and adding the snippet to the Resource Manager; however, when the snippet is updated in project A, the snippet in project B doesn't reflect the updates. The only other alternative I could think of is linking the topic from project A to project B.
So that leads me to my question - how can you update project A so that when the user clicks a topic, it automatically displays the topic from project B (but without leaving the frame of project A)? Is there a better method to accomplish this?

NikkiWeird. I just exported a Snippet from Project 1 to Resource Manager and then dragged it into Project 2 where I made a change. That put the red icon on RM until I hit sync. I then when back to Project 1 and, as you say, the snippet was not updated in the project or showing that it was out of sync. Here's the weird bit. I then added the snippet from RM to another topic and it came with the amendment and updated the first snippet. Weird bit 2 is it seems to be working OK now although it was a quick test really needing a few more attempts.
Might be worth you pursuing this to see if you can get it working.
Otherwise the topic in Project B could be a Redirect to the one in Project A. That would only be practical if you always supply all the projects in the merge.

Hi,
If you want to expense inventory to a project, you can create a transaction type with project enabled.
If you want to capture inventory cost for a project with inventory tracked, then license Project manufacturing, setups the PJM parameteres. Activate the locator control. With all these done, you can transfer inventory to projects.
Make sure you run the project cost collection report and do the import of transactions by running PRC: Transaction import from projects with source inventory.

Link between GTM and FSCM (sales or purchase order hedging)
Hi all,
I am trying for a few days to have SAP GTM working (I am in an IDES ECC6 system, and as far as I know in EhP4 version). The main goal in fact is to test the currency hedging, and therefore to the link GTM and FSCM, either single-sided purchase or sales order, or two-sided . The flow I want is the following :
- I buy or sell a product, in GTM, through a trading contract which generates a purchase or sales order.
- Automatically a currency hedge is generated to cover the risk, in FSCM, I guess in exposure management.
- And then the financial products (derivatives) are generated as well.
No problem to create the trading contract, no problem to generate the sales or purchase order. But in spite of the (very little) customizing I found in u201CSAP GTM => currency hedgesu201D, and some in FSCM, in u201Ctreasury and risk managementu201D, no way to have this link between GTM and FSCM, no additional document is generated like a Forward Exchange Transaction (I guess I should have this, and then a risk exposure in FSCM).
Would you have an idea ? Is this customizing, or an additional Business Functions or Extension Set not activated ? SAP says : u201Cit worksu201D, but canu2019t find the way.

Means we get work for testing of no. of joints say 1000. Now I want to make some restriction say for testing of 10 joints , only 100 qty of this material shud consumed. System should triger some message that I am exceeding my allocated amount.

Link between implementation project configuration (SOLAR02) and ChaRM?
Dears;
We want to benefit from listing all IMG Objects and developments in an implementation project (SOLAR02) to control our transports as we have ChaRM activated on the affected systems.
But there seems to be no link/control which has several consequences:
*Status of "changes" in ChaRM and related developments in the implementation project have to be tracked seperately
*There is no link between the development in the project (SOLAR02) and the created TR.
*There is no limitation/control in the content of the TR if it concerns items not listed in your project => how to check if the project is up-to-date?
Are my assumptions correct? Or am I forgetting something?
What is the experience in maintaining changes (transports) for implementation project? On what level? Linked with the structure in Solar02 or completely independant?
I have done quite some reading around the topics but documentation around project management via SolMan and ChaRM via SolMan seems never to be really connected? (only the overall status of the project and the activation of charm via SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN)>

So this does mean that (what my understanding was) I have to create a normal change via ChaRM but under the project for example a certain business scenario. That developers work on all topics related and should "remember" that if they put something under that transport they should verify if this is documented in the SOLAR02?
If then the change is put to testing they should manually update the status of everything related to this transport in the SOLAR02... -
Is there a DIRECT link between SD schedule lines and delivery lines?
Is there a direct link (db table) between schedule lines on a sales order (VBEP) and the delivery lines (LIPS)?
Is there a function module to retrieve the data?
Example-
One order line with 3 schedule lines.
Each schedule line is for 2 units (total of 6 units).
Three deliveries made. 1st is for 2 units, 2nd is for 1 unit (backorder), 3rd is for 3 units.
You can use document flow (table VBFA) or examine the SD document in the delivery line (LIPS) and link the delivery line to the order line. The schedule line already references the order line.
I am using math to decrement the schedule lines used and make the link between VBEP and LIPS. It works fine. I need four records back....
1st schedule line for 2 units uses delivery 123
2nd schedule line for 1 unit (partial) uses delivery 124
2nd schedule line for 1 unit (partial) uses delivery 125
3rd schedule line for 2 units uses delivery 125
Like I said, it works. Just wondering if I missed a more direct link.As far as Db link is concern , I dont remember exactly , but 3 years before I had written a report which see Sales order schedule lines and devilry note lines against sales order. If you see process wise . when ever you create PO ( production order you assign some qty using 101 movement type .. and against production order you also give sales order . When you do delivery ( run seclude run ) it delivers against that material number , its movement is 601 ...
but I remember theres a link between these tables, VBAP,VBFA AND VBEP , LIPS ... against every sales order you can see sales invoice ( VBRP,VBRK) and you can also see your delivery note number in document flow .
I hope thisll give you some guide line, as right now I can not tell you the exact business process but I remember I written a report in SD 4 years before , in which they required Delivery against production order and sales order ... One more thing you also have production order reference on delivery item number. ( field :Empst ) . I think in my project they were maintaining this field .

Link between process order and sales order for planning strategy 52
Hello,
I investigate the possibility of a link between "sales order" and "planned order / process order" for the usage of planning strategy 52 (planning w/o final assembly, make to stock).
I know, this is not conform to the basics of planning strategies (EITHER make to order OR make to stock) and I suspect it would be a modification. Of course we have the alternative "make to order" - strategy 50, but we do not want to use individual customer stocks.
Is anybody there with similar customer requirements or project experiences?

To my understanding if you need hard pegging then in SAP only Individual requirement is possible.
Or else you need to create a custom transactions/table to identify Sale order and when ever a process order is created by selecting the sale order record, the process order detials should also get updated against that.
You need to take the help of ABAP expert for this,

Problems with Dinamic Link between Premiere pro CC and After Effects CC
I'm having serious problems with dinamic link between premiere pro and after effects, really serious problems that have 2 big projects in trouble (a documentary and a video clip) and I had to redo all the work pipeline to the consumer.
The documentary for a spanish TV was made on CC 2014 and a video clip was made on CC. Both of them with a lot of after effects composition in the premiere pro timeline. Render freeze, a lot of playback issues, and many more problems... Until I decided to remove these links between premiere and after effects and render out all the after effects compositions one by one and insert as clips in premiere pro. 1 week working away with back and fourth.
I've got a huge workstation:

GTX780 3gb
256 gb system ssd
2 Tb project storage
*All my hardware and software are update.
I know that a lot of folks are on the same huge problem and I want to ask everyone:
How do you save this?
What is your pipeline?

File > Adobe Dynamic Link > New After Effects Composition
In AECC
From that composition created from PPro, I imported the project (aep) initially created in AECC from another team member. Saved the file.
Back in PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition

Linking between Adobe Presenter presentations
Hi,
I am an Adobe Presenter newbie. My project is massive, so I
have broken it down into 'bite-sized' chunks. I have been able to
turn my PPTs into Adobe Presenter presentations but can't figure
out how to keep the links between the different presentations.
There are many links on the slides themselves and a great deal of
the navigation (choices) are made from the slides themselves.
I am using PPT 2007, but saving files as backward compatible
with the demo version of Presenter 7.
Any hints, help will be appreciated.

matrix to other presentations with specific learning paths broken
down by the learner's role in the company.
The catalogue Power Point used a table with colored cells and
text labels indication the appropriate learning module for the job
category of the individual learner. I posted the individual
presentations, collected all the urls and used them as launch
hyperlinks for each cell in the catalogue. I did the same thing in
Captivate and replicated launch buttons on each slide page so the
user could cross launch any of the other presentations at any time.
Kind of nifty.
